Bad experience twice now. They are riding on the good reputation of the old owners of this business. My car was booked in for a service n they did other non important works resulting in over $800 on the bill. After getting my car back every warning sign and come on to my dash and went into limp mode my card does not drive me any further and then 10 minutes a day down the road it is an absolute nightmare they also lost my clips into attached by bumper and it is hanging off. Also when receiving my car back my steering column had been taken apart there was no reason that they should have been in there I now do not have any power to my brake switch and the top on the radiator was leaking when returned. None of this was a issue prior to talking my car there. They have absolutely ruined my car I'm in absolute state of shock even months after. After I insisted on them taking my car back and going over everything that they did even though they did not write a report about anything that they had gone over after apparently doing but listing silly things like marks on hoses and stuff like that they just insisted that my car was safe for me and my daughter to drive even tho it was obvious this was a lie. They also apparently do every service with a engine flush and drive with it in there doesn't matter if the car is in need of it or not they claim that this is part of the normal service every car every time. They also do not supply any documentation of oil amount and type used in service nor any menton of oil filter replacement or anything involving what's used when they do the service and when I asked I was told that they looked it up on the internet to tell me as I believe that having oil well above the max mark when checking it when car engine was cold was too oil but when they checked it after the car had been driven for half hour insisted the levels do not change what so ever with checking it cold and when warm. Honestly do not take your car here although reception is lovely like I said they are new owners and they are riding on the reputation that the old ones have built for themselves. The first time I took it in there they put on a faulty part on apparently and after I had to complain over and over they had to redo the work blaming they put on a faulty rocket cover gasket. This time they have totally ruined my car on another level and our livelyhood making life so much harder for a single mother with a special needs child. Avoid any mechanical needs from this business

Made a booking to get my car fixed, 2 weeks in advance with MJ Auto for it to coincide with a rare day off work. The engine light on the dash had been on for three weeks or so and a diagnostic test I had had done when it first came on indicated it was a problem with the electric throttle control. I had the RACV out a couple of days later and he seemed to think I needed a new throttle body, even though he said the existing one looked new. Both the mechanic who did the initial diagnostic test and the RACV guy indicated it was risky to drive my car, so obviously I was keen to get the issue fixed so I could drive my car again. But my visit to MJ Auto to get the issue resolved turned out to be a TOTAL waste of time and energy!!! The only thing they bothered to do was to clean the throttle which fixed NOTHING! They advised me to bring it back if the engine light came on which it did THE SECOND I exited the Court. If they had bothered to take it for a test drive they would known that! They also conveniently (and potentially, dangerously) claimed that it was safe to drive my car! So now I am carless for a couple of months until I can next get to a mechanic. The mechanic WILL NOT be MJ Auto!!! (I have given an extra star because they did drive me the short way down the road to Sunbury central and back, and because the receptionist was pleasant) Just to add - thanks for the apology and response from MJ Auto below - but I would like to clarify - 1. At no stage was I advised the issue had not been fixed. What I was advised was that the engine light on the dash had been cleared and if it was to come back on at any stage I should bring my car back. 2. I did not say I needed my car for work. I am working from home - why would I need my car for work? I needed my car to GET home, as I live in the Macedon Ranges without access to public transport.

What an absolute pleasure it is to get our car serviced at MJ Auto. Always service with a smile, very informative with such a lovely atmosphere. They go above and beyond to be as accurate, and considerate when it comes to work needed to be done. If work does need to be done it’s always communicated & checked with first to ensure we’re happy to go ahead. We love this as we know exactly what we are going to expect to pay. Upon reading a negative review below, I just want to say that I have been a customer at MJ’s before the new owners took over and confirm that the new owners are just as knowledgeable. In fact have taken the reins from a family business and bring such an exciting atmosphere to the business. You guys should be proud of what you are achieving and how hard the team at MJ Auto work. Enjoy a nice long holiday over Christmas everyone!

Josh takes possession of my mini bus (in full renovation) overnight, after having the thing from 8:30am in the morning. All its needs is a simple fuel gauge repair but this is beyond Josh's ability. He sends the electronics home with someone overnight. I call early the next morning to find that Josh's friend likes to sleep in until 10 am. I explain 3 workers are due to continue the renovation at 10am. I asked Josh to return the bus but he refuses stating that I must pay for his time. I asked how much money the wanted and he hung up on me. I've been using mechanics for 50 years and never met a person like Josh. I would avoid this business like the plague.

The team at MJ were brilliant, took a car there that had a difficult and complicated electrical issue which appeared to have been fixed but unfortunately resurfaced the next day. The guys were out to our place within half an hour of us calling them and managed to get the car back to their workshop. This review might sound a little strange as the car had to be returned, but the quick response from the lads was first class and we paid considerably less than what we were expecting. Thanks Mel to you and the team for looking after us.

Mel was absolutely fantastic in helping me find the best battery for my car, continually checking in to make sure I got what I needed and at a price that bet all the competitors. Josh installed my battery for me at no cost and at a time that suited me. So impressed with the team's professionalism. MJ Auto will be my first call for any future issues, and I will recommend them to everyone as they offer an excellent service.

Josh and Mel have looked after both my vehicles from mechanical to auto elec. for a number of years. I recently had an electrical issue with my van and Mel accommodated an urgent repair for me. When the job was completed they picked me up from home to collect the van. I thoroughly recommend these Sunbury locals. Steve.
