अगर अंग्रेज़ भारत मे नही आते तो इतनी लाइब्रेरी भी इस पूरे गुजरात में नही होती ! अहमदाबाद गुजरात का सब से ज्यादा विकसित शहर में से हे लेकिन यह की सरकार ने Education को तो ३५ सालो से side में ही रख दिया हे ! पूरे गुजरात में कही भी अच्छी Government लाइब्रेरी और Government school नहीं हे ! ये लाइब्रेरी बहुत खराब हे क्योंकि यहां का Management बहुत खराब हे, और - १ ) कंप्यूटर काउंटर के लोगो के इलावा यहाँ कोई भी स्टूडेंट की इज़्ज़त नही करता ! २) पढ़ाई करने के लिए इतना ऊपर जाना पढ़ता हे और Beg के बिना जाना पढ़ता हे की पूछो मत ! मुझे अभी तक ये Beg जमा कराने का logic ही पता नही चला की ये बेवकूफी क्यों करनी पढ़ती हे ? ३) Infrastructure बहूत खराब हे / अगर अंग्रेज़ ये नही बनाते तो, इतना भी नही होता जितना आज है!

Pros: - Collection of books - List of subjects covered is amazing - Regional Language and many other languages covered. - Sections for Kids is also big…it contains Encyclopaedia and many other books to refer. - Newspaper and Magazine section is also big. - Computerised borrowing and return of the books. - One can reissue same books online. No need to visit library. - Lifetime membership is JUST Rs. 3000/-. - Can borrow 4 books if lifetime member. Cons: - Cleanliness. You’ll find dust on book racks. Collection of books is huge and one can read all books which they can not buy. If you’ve hunger for reading then one can get membership for nominal amount for lifetime membership.

Visited MJ Library recently and was impressed by the range of resources available. I found books on a variety of topics, including history, literature, science, and technology. ->I also enjoyed the atmosphere of the library. It is a quiet and peaceful place where I could relax and focus on reading -> Overall, I had a positive experience at MJ Library. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet place to read or research. -> I would give MJ Library a 4 out of 5 stars. It is a great place to find resources for research or simply to relax and read.

Don't come plz specially girls , i visite this lib till 6 to 7 years before , before 2022 management is well but after that so bad. the structure of lib is good , but very worst management of washrooms and all, they charge for reading section but according to price not maintain the cleanliness as well many time they lock the washroom and say water is not coming. One good point is that the lib is open on weekends , and the reading section is open on holiday also. If you need to join lib then pls join public lib near your area.they better then this .

(MJ Library) building structure was designed by English architect Claude Batley in Rajputana Colonial Style of architecture. The library is situated in the heart of the city, beside the Town Hall and is well connected with the Bus Transit system also The library’s collection of 3,81,079 books are massive and segregated across English, Hindi, Gujarati, Bengali, Marathi, Sindhi, Sanskrit, Urdu and French languages. The collection consists of books ranging from fictional novels to non-fiction works, comics to journals, biographies to academic books, and various other genres.

Worst Experience... In this COVID19 situation they are demanding penalties for the books not submitted!! They doesn't even care about the situation of students and want more money that one can even afford for the books.. they are not replying to phone calls and then tell us that it is your responsibility to contact the library but HOW?? No authorities available.. just making us wander from one counter to another and from home to library without talking about matter.(Even in this pandemic we have to go to library many times just to talk to them.)

A good place to find books that are somewhat not to be found but not much to expect it has a vintage look with modern features. More precisely you will get the basic to medium high grade books here really good if you are a bilingual reader not just a English but even other languages too it has profound books. I am not much of a reader but i do read books and i don't go into much of other sections rather than spiritual books,novels of every type, and psychological books it my genra to read.

It is a great place for reading , books and working. They have a 3 month charge for reading 300 rs., And if you want to issue books from the library , you have to open a lifetime membership of 3000 rs. The building of the library is very amazing and classic in its architecture. There is a newspaper room and also the facility of the cloakroom.Ventilation is good . Timing is around 11:00 to 5:30 Pm.

Really nice place and books in library are also very good but, the staff....... over there literally sucks!! they are of no use and one of the staff also threw the book after taking from my hand even threw it on the table even though they work as librarian so, don't expect anything from staff if you go there because they are taking money only for the gossips. And I think it's high time that they take action toward there staff.

The MJ library is Ahmedabad in historic library ,the library his on this road pass a ellish bridge then his small,the library is very clean,his placed is fully silent and riding the book and News paper his library very fast,the library is worked by Mannek lal jethalal library then his Name MJ library . The librery in reading room on 2nd floor and ground room the librery is very nice

Library environment is good but you only find the old books there. They didn't collect new books in the library which is the negative point and other thing is most of the room they didn't have fan so whenever you find the books you do not feel good due to hotness . They have to provide fan facility in the room and main thing new books are recommended according to the technology.

કેટલો મોટી સંખ્યામાં કર્મચારીઓ છે પણ કાઈ પણ પૂછવાથી બરાબર જવાબ નથી મળતો, બઘા મોબાઈલ મો બીજી, 25,30 વર્ષ પહેલાં થી હુ લાઈફ ટાઈમ મેમ્બર છૂ, જૂના ઘૂળ ખાતા પૂશતકો છે, જરાપણ સફાઈ નથી, તમને જે ભેટ, ડોનેશન પેટે કીતાબો મલે છે તેજ વાંચવા મલે, સરકારી સહાય આપવામાં આવે છે તે કયા જાય છે? મફત મળેલા પૂશતકો ની અેક રેક મા 20/25 કોપી જોવા મળે છે, શફાઈ સારી છે, નવા નવા પૂશતકો લાવો?

MJ Library is the best library i have ever gone to. It is completely digital now, it makes you more contact-less. I have a permanent membership in this, so I can have much more benifits, i would recommend this library to anyone.

A must visit place for all the book lovers... They do have a huge huge collection of all type of books... And many old records of past events for researchers... Along with books, they have a nice exhibition of photographs of old Ahmedabad also.. Recently they have digitised all their system to enable software based book exchange system..

Worst library in Ahmedabad. I went there in march 2 times, they said there we cannot give you form come in april. When i went there in april they said that come after 2 days. I went there after 2 days and now they said that library is full. How can it be full. It is a very big library. The employees working here shows ego.

The library is quite good and contains a lot of reading material and good place to sit and read but the staff is not at all helpful, they are more interested in their gossips rather then helping us, many times i have to spend my precious time looking for a book which any of the staff member can easily find it.

It is not a library. ...it is a museum of books....very old to latest books are available here...you can study...you can research.....you can read....it has ample parking place...this library is situated near sheth Mangaldas Town Hall...opposite Ellisbridge.....which is now.....Swami Vivekanand Bridge....

A very big library in the campus near Townhall Ellisbridge area.The books available are plenty but it requires upgradation. This is the oldest library since our grand father times.The renovation is done recently. Nowadays people read less and use smartphones hence the library membership is reduced.

The Library really needs to develop a proper Public Information System. They had reopened on June 1, 2020 and didn't update it anywhere, neither the Website nor the Newspaper. They don't even respond to phone calls. How do we come to know. I had to pay Huge penalty After Covid Unlock.

M J Library is a gem for Ahmedabad & also for readers. But it is shameful for us (Amdavadi) & also for AMC that M J Library has no internet ID (website) ! I am waiting a website of M J Library, which allow me to show all books & its details (category wise) . When possible it ?

The biggest library in Asia. Great place. Membership is real cheap. 1000 Rs for 15 years. And they have great collection of books. But you need patience if you want to find any particular books. Library still lacks competitive exam preparation books like UPSC or SSC CMAT etc.

Nice, You have to take tickets from under bridge and then move to upward the bridge, because station is in 2 parts: 1st , ground level for ticket and for bus you have to go to upper side of the station which is bridge it self, however frequency of bus is same.

Nice library!! They have also put a laptop to search for books all over the library with lakhs of book, so its very easy to find your choice

Third class staff. From last 2 months i was visiting regularly and they can not give proper answer and response for joining formality...and everytime say library is full there are no space available or no staff available ...so visit next time...pathetic

Huge amount of books, easy to find through their website. I opted for an annual membership, which allows you to issue 2 books for 15 days. Staff members will help you out to find a particular book. It takes two days to get that ID card to issue books.

I loved this place it has variety of books & great collection of bedtime stories for kids . It's a very peaceful place where people just read books . And especially kids also like that . I visit every Sunday with my children . Will recommend to all .

I like to became member of m j library but I shock when librarian told me that you have to give municipal councilor or mla sign on registration form. Really strange Anyway I will manage it but what about who new to Ahmedabad. Pray for new citizens

BRTS stand at the heart of the city. You can get buses to travelling to city areas. Buses having numbers 11D, 11U, 8D, 8U, 9D & 9U are coming here. You can travel to 8-Naroda to ISKON, 9-SOLA to Maninagar & 11-L.D. Engineering to Odhav Ring Road.

Everything is good, except for some improvements related to drinking water. As you have to complaint for that to AMC , which takes longer than expected to do something and library staff handling this here is not that much active to resolve …

Nicee place to get a wide variety of books. The membership is extremely reasonable. I strongly recommend this place.

It's very good place for study. There are so many gujarati, English and Hindi books. Study related material is also available. Most of the books related to college study is also there. So it is very peaceful and noiseless place.

It is govt library and located near townhall.it has wide range of Gujarati and English books and magazines.books are not updated here.sometimes it feels like old collection no new arrivals.cleaness is okey in library.

Library has good books but reception staff is very rude and bad. Pathetic staff if a book is not issued through computer they don't even help you and tell that you should issue some other book.

Such a big library and the oldest library and it remembers us rich heritage of ahemdabad and gujarat and you can find almost each book here and very big collection of book must visit once.

It is the Highest BRTS station in the area. Traveling from here to Ellis bridge(over Sabarmati) is one of the best experience exploring the city from height. Just loved this station.

Water purifier seems very old. A few persons are found sleeping in the reading room. 2-3 specific men are reading one newspaper whole day but do not give to others .
