Do not trust the sale price sticker, or even price tag and always check receipt before you leave the store.. Here is the more details if you want to know why: The product price are REALLY confusing and misleading. Each item has a original price tag (which now I learn is useless). And some of items have sale price sticker, and they COULD be outdated. What’s more? There is also a so-called system price that changes daily, and they are not transparent to customers at all. Basically whenever you found you were charged a strange number that does not match any price tag, they are “system price”. Things get funny when you saw a pajama with a on-sale price sticker on it, and you took another pajama that is exactly the same style, same size and color to check out. Later when you got home you found that you were charged more than the sale price you saw and what’s funnier is that the amount you paid even didn’t match the original price tag.. The explanation I got is that, they have system price that fluctuates daily so the sale price sticker could be outdated. If they saw there was a sale price sticker when I checked out, they would only charge me the on sale price even it may be lower than the system price… however, since the pajama that I bought, unluckily, somehow does not come with on sale price sticker, they charged me the system price. So what I took from the explanation is that, 1. those price tags/stickers are useless 2. and you probably need to be a detective to shop here… 3. A kind reminder for those shop at this store, check your receipt before you leave the store. You may get surprise.

I love the shop, the cloths, the stationary etc... I was in today with my wife and 3 young kids. Admittedly not the easiest kids to handle but they didn't really misbehave. There were 2 ladies at the till downstairs, one helped me find a shirt in my size and she was nice and helpful while the other one, me and my wife discussed this afterwards, she was just very cold and clearly irritated that we had brought our children into the shop. Not cool. Just as a side note the security guard at the entrance was very nice and a happy chap!

I wanted to just talk about my experience in Muji Birmingham on the 24th. I was greeted by a lovely lady... despite the fact it was busy and I could see there was not more than 3 staff members in. The atmosphere in store was not that of a chaotic one yet it felt like I was home. One lady even thanked me for being so nice to her during this global pandemic.. I could not believe this!!! Just wanted to point out the hard work I can see is received in this store.. I will be going back as much as I can 私はいつもとても感謝しています

Department store is misleading in this case, but it's a great little shop. Weirdly somewhere I never intend to go to, but pop in on the way past whenever I'm in the need for a small gift and invariably come out with something a little different (plus something extra for my stationary obsessed partner). Lovely shopping experience with friendly staff and rarely crammed with damp shoppers unlike the rest of new street. Although prices are a little more costly than normal, you can see they are quality.

A specialist Japanese shop with some very interesting high quality items. These range from clothes to food, interesting china, cooking utensils, stationery and much more including socks of all sizes that actually fit without the heel and foot pulling up out of position. All goods here seem to have a special purpose and function reflected in their design, materials, manufacture and finish. The exceptional fine detail is the key

Great place if you're into minimalism and you want plain linen shirts, high quality homeware or candles with essential oils. Also stocks a range of stationery and some toiletries. I like their products, and have deducted a star because they stopped selling XL (size 14) pants. However, I do have shelving units, storage boxes and other things from there and they are all still going strong after a few years' use.

I've gota say that I do really do like this place & everything they sell. However, I'm not too impressed with their customer service. There was no staff downstairs when I needed assistance. When I did manage to find a member of staff, I was abruptly told - "I'm on my break". This caused me to abandon my pursuit for a shirt in my size & walk out the store...

  • Raphael KCP

Staff mainly standing around having conversations between themselves rather than ensuring customer is good. Only one seems to be fixing shelved items. Had to wait for staff to finish their conversation before one approached the till so I could make my purchase. Stark contrast to the service you would receive from Muji in Japan.

  • Dr. Phoebe

Went in here with the intention to buying a few gel pens (I had heard they were the best) and came out with a LOTS of stuff! The staff were lovely and the whole atmosphere made me happy. I really recommend the pens and box pencil cases, as well as the aroma water vapour things. I definitely recommend. …

Bigger than it looks from the outside! The basement opens up to a large clothing range and homewares section. Bigger than most of the London stores. If you don't know where to start, buy socks. They're great. And don't forget the stationary! Everything is understated, but well designed and good quality.

  • Anton Lapinski

Love this shop! I wish there were more in the north. Great quality products and nice simple design. Good layout, lots of variety and stock spread over two levels. Stairs down to the basement and I don't remember seeing a lift so access may be a problem. Staff were pleasant but not overbearing.

Absolutely amazing store my daughter is a big fan and this is the one place she wanted to go, it didn't disappoint the clothing is beautiful and so is the stationary they even sell beauty products all are Minimalist Japanese with a wide range of generic products to appeal to all . …

  • Arjun Bali

MUJI had a variety of goods to offer. The store is clean and organised well. Focusing on the stationary, I was very satisfied with the quality of the items. They were simple and aesthetic, which is just perfect for me. However, MUJI has so much plastic and is therefore not very sustainable.

  • Sarah L

Great little shop with a modern cuckoo clock, stationary, luggage, clothes and furniture - perfect shop for those who like modern clean lines and who have small houses/apartments - prices are not as low as IKEA but quality is slightly higher

  • Adiba

the products that Muji sell are very good in quality and purpose. Some of their products are a bit expensive but they are worth it because they come to a lot of use. I had to nick off a star because the customer service in the store isn't

  • Bahman Ab

I enjoy shopping at Muji, and they have beautiful items , I bought the plastic frame (transparent) . The store has downstairs which there are clothes, it’s clean but the team member downstairs was busy with folding clothes.

  • Cherie Kan

I love muji products and visit their shops no matter where i am, japan. Taiwan, hongkong, uk...the birmingham shop give worst services, the Chinese girls hate speaking Cantonese/chinese even they speak very well.

  • V Chandla

Easily one of the coolest shops on the high street. Lots of unnecessary stuff and overpriced stationery but they get suckers in by the dozen so you can't blame them. I must say their socks are brilliant though :)

  • Will F

Very well priced and high quality products. Their clothing is great and their pens are perfect (particularly as a leftie). I appreciated the great customer service, I will definitely be coming again.

  • Sophie Davies

Always a pleasure. The best shop on Birmingham New Street. A calm oasis from the otherwise hectic environment of the high street. The shop is dog-friendly and the staff are always really welcoming.

  • Skye Lana Elizabeth Cook (TheRainbowSkye)

Lovely Store, with really amazing but simple items, You have to check this store out. You will love it. The Staff are really friendly and helpful and the shop just has a really peaceful atmosphere.

  • Emma

I absolutely love this shop and always buy things I don't really need every time I come to Birmingham! There are more clothes and food since the refurbishment. The Strawberry wafers are amazing

  • Diane

Muji has a good range of clothing, stationary and items for the home well displayed in a shop over 2 floors. The items are standard, basic Japanese design that you will either love or hate.

  • Catriona Yule

Wonderful selection of staionary , storage, clothes and toiletries. All with an understated Japanese style that.sets it apart. Reasonable prices. Clothes are on the small size though.

  • Steven Wheeler

Muji sell some unique items you don't think you need until you see them. They also sell nice clothing and furniture. Keep in mind that a lot of their stuff is on the expensive side.

  • Abigail

Love this store and the staff are always fab! A guy member of staff was so helpful, introduced to the new muji pay app and I got a good deal on things for my new uni term! Thanks!

  • Howard Ricketts

Muji has great ranges of cosmetics, office supplies, clothes and food and more. All with their signature minimalist aesthetic. Remember to check out the sweets by the counter!

  • CRAIG TOMKINSON

Love walking around this shop, I would have gave five stars, But now muji refuses to sell by cash. So if you have no money in your bank account you can't buy anything there..

  • vicster dekann

Great sale with excellent prices!Especially the leggings. Staff were friendly, the store was not that busy, which is good when you want to look for good bargains.

  • Kozu

Excellent quality Japanese goods, stock seems to change quite often so it is always nice to have a look at all the new items. The staff is always very nice too!

  • Gregory Barber

Great selection. With Japanese style items priced from reasonable to fairly expensive. But worth remembering an item and asking when the next sale is on.

  • Rae

Nice store but its just full of PLASTIC. Everything seems to be made of plastic. They want £30 for a small plastic box. I had to laugh - and walk away.

  • Anne Guest

Love this place. It's got all the things I love, simplicity, sustainability, natural fabrics and yarns, no frills, just classic Eastern design.

  • Lina B

Lovely simple store. Very aesthetically pleasing. Extremely overpriced compared to prices in Asia but it’s down to ridiculous taxes in the UK.

  • Andrew Collins

Lots of lovely stuff - especially if you are into Japanese culture. Quite pricey and the sizing of the clothes is smaller than you would hope.

  • Jon Morgan

Not the biggest Muji, but that probably just makes it extra Muji. Most basic requirements of living covered with beautiful, simplistic style.

  • Hsun-Yen Wu

So glad we have Muji in Birmingham. Service staff are kind. You must visit Muji if you like Japanese style clothes, kitchenware, household.

  • xi yuan Zhang

My favorite store of buying furniture, stationary, cloth or other household needs, excellent quality with variety range of stuff offered.

  • Siva Sockalingam

There is nothing like it in the UK. Muji is a small representative of Japanese culture. Great for all small things that are just perfect.

  • martin

generally good stuff with a good aesthetic, but by the multifaceted nature of the shop they're missing a lot of items that you may need

  • Amani Alzahrani

I love Japanese style so cute I forgot to take some photo there ,,, but sure next time,, they offer student discount …

  • Santino PRICE

  • celine Llewellyn-Jones

I would like to live in a Muji cloud. Minimal, stylish, cosy. Not, however within an ikea-style budget.
