So, I've been in Jax a long time and the MVP's Sports Grille has been around a long time - and 6 miles from my house - but we never went in there until today. It's kind of hidden at the northeast corner of Atlantic and Girvin in a shopping center strip mall. It was really good - and it's definitely going to be a regular place to go. There's a huge horseshoe bar in the middle, with lots of tables and hightops, and dart machines and a pool table against a side wall, and of course TVs all over. Very modern and clean - this isn't a dive bar - but definitely gave off that cool neighborhood tavern vibe. Lots of people seemed to know each other and were having a good time watching college football. Eric was our server and was super friendly and attentive. And the food - I was told they've upped their game over the last year or so - and the menu goes well beyond "bar food." Lots of creative burgers, sandwiches, salads, apps - all good stuff. If the place's overall rating is low, it's apparently because the classic "disgruntled ex-employee" has been one-star bombing them - so it's totally undeserved. So check MVP's out and I'm pretty sure you'll find a hangout you'll go back to.

We had my rehearsal dinner here on April 21, 2023. My dad frequents here every week so it was a no brainer to have our party here. Rana worked with our budget and created a delicious spread of all their awesome food from buffalo chicken egg rolls to wings and more!! Everyone who came loved the food!! Sam and Micha were our servers who helped set up the food and they were lovely and fantastic, as they always are. They even had cute little signs to tell my guests what each food item was!! We had our own reserved area by the pool table so the boys could play and relax. Brittany was the bartender and she made excellent drinks, again, as she always does! I took a lot of leftovers home and indulged the next night after my wedding. This isn’t just a nice bar to come relax to after work, the food here that Rana creates is a work of art!!

Bartender named buddy?? Was a total jerk and ignored quite a few costumers, including us! a few people were flagging down the waitress’s to get drinks ‍♀️ which unfortunately only the rude bartenders can get them, and they snap at the servers if they tell them someone needs a drink he (buddy?)was acting annoyed to do his job it was pretty awkward…. And a few of us went to play pool after we got drinks at the bar and pretty much everyone was talking about what a D bag he was Then we went back and hector was the other bartender ( which is odd having hulky and brudy guys bartending) usually it’s nice pretty girls not angry jerks…. Oh well Jacksonville is full of bars with pleasant bartenders….

Sat at the bar and got a pitcher of beer. It was nice and cold. Loved the service and atmosphere. Darts, pool tables, lots of tv's and that neighborhood bar vibe. Would have gave them 5 stars but they do need a little updating. Most of the tv's are old and small. Bar stools had cracks in the cushions. My lady didn't like that part the most. We didn't order any food, but everyone eating had some good looking meals! We will be back when in the area for sure!

We have been coming to this bar for years!!! Have to say…. They have started serving breakfast on Saturday and Sunday. It is the bomb!!! The Eggs Benedict (made to order by Matt and Rana) is worthy of an $100 price tag… no joke!!! The traditional MVPs breakfast hits the spot every time! Great little neighborhood Bar and Grill! Darts, 1 pool table, Golden Tee golf, TVs everywhere you look, houses music and digital personal play if you like, karaoke and trivia nights, and has a good amount of seating. Best of all... is the great dependable kitchen cooked food! Always fresh and very good selection and quality for every taste. Try them out you won't be disappointed! It is a bar so just know it can be lively and loud at times. Take care of yourself and help others if you are able!

It is truly a great neighborhood sports bar. Great variety of food above and beyond an ordinary sports bar menu. The service from Eric and now his new sidekick, Ruthie, are outstanding, and Hector, as our bartender, pours a great Titos and tonic. My wife and I have been coming here for years, and there's no equal. Kudos to MVPs!

Updated Comments Had an issue with the service, but the owner personally called and spoke with my wife and apologized. She was genuine with her apology. Because of the call, i am upgrading back to 5 stars. That showed me that she cares about her customers. Update: Wife wanted some wings so we went back. The wings were absolutely AWESOME, probably the best i've had in a long time! Sometimes people deserve a 2nd chance. Will definitely be going back again.

This joint is always fun. The food is extremely good for a sports bar, I will even go so far as to say it's the best sports bar food I've ever had. You really can't go wrong with anything on their menu. Drink prices are high but hey, that's life and I don't drink anymore anyway so, meh. Friendly tip - their blue cheese dressing I believe is homemade and it is absolutely incredible

Such a lively place woth great vibes. Try their wings! Eric was great with customer service (everyone was) and suggested the wet garlic parm chicken wings. The picture does not do justice...they were perfect! Enjoy your visit

Kevin is an awesome bartender, he always takes our drink order first thing and makes sure our food order is perfect. Food at MVPs is really delicious. The ambiance is great and everyone visiting is charismatic and I just feel at home. Make sure you visit this place, it's never a dissappointment. You will surely leave with a smile.

Local Bar, very good food and reasonable price. Certain days of week they do offer Karaoke, bike night or Bingo. Friendly Staff and great drinks its quite a staple in our community would highly recommend checking it out now but depending on what day of the week you go the place does get very busy

No one was there only one other person. We did not look at prices order 2 drinks and 2 sandwiches The bill was $56. It was good but not worth $60 for lunch. Never again. Way over-priced especially for lunch.

Besides drinks, there is a decent size menu. The wings were delicious, but I think they changed their cook. Now, they are just okay. They have cancelled Tuesday $.69 wings. It would be nice if they would use they extra money to fix the pool table. Well. At least they still have trivia night.
