Oh my goodness! I have been a loyal Macy’s customer for over 30 years. Unfortunately the experience I had recently, has changed my opinion of this store. I received Macy’s gift cards for Mother’s Day. We drove 1 1/2 hours to La Cantera in San Antonio to shop on Sunday. When I couldn’t find the woman’s department that I have always shopped in at other Macy’s, I approached an employee. I asked her where the woman’s department was and she replied “ we don’t carry your size … you have to shop online”. Obviously, she doesn’t know my size and not only was I embarrassed and wanting to to cry … to make things worse she said that in front of the other customers. I tried to call their customer service line but the person said I would have to have an order number??? When I called the store directly I was transferred to the woman’s department and then disconnected. Macy’s has always held a happy place for my family and me. We go to Dallas just to Christmas shop there, we send Macy’s gift cards to our children and grandchildren, and I have always found a Woman’s department with a nice variety of sizes and styles in other locations. La Cantera Macy’s could really use some inclusiveness and personnel training!

I ordered online & picked up in-store. The wait at the pickup counter was short and the woman very helpful. Nice to deal with. My complaint is there was only 1 guy working in shoes & it took FOREVER to get help! He finally called someone who came to help but there was a line and the wait was long. When they went to the back to get people's shoes they were gone 5 minutes! We all thought they had been swallowed up by a black hole! During everyone's wait (about 4 people standing there a different woman came out, looked around & went back in the back again! Didn't even ask if she could help anyone! There was nobody to check people out & when I was finished I needed to exchange a pair for another. There was only 1 person at the cash register & a long line. I walked all over the store trying to find a place to check out. The registers either had several people in line or nobody to be seen! I ended up at the online pickup register and waited in a short line. At lunchtime on a weekday Macy's should have more people on the floor! Not a great experience this time but I will be back.

The Macy's at La Cantera doesn't disappoint....I always have a great shopping experience!! Today we needed to get new dress clothes for my husband. Ladies, you can visualize how this can go bad quickly.....my normally even tempered, chill hubby can get sullen, impatient and overly preoccupied with prices in a hot minute when we have to buy clothes for him,. Not at Macy's La Cantera.....the sales staff in the Ralph Lauren Men's Department managed to get us every thing he needed without being overly fussy. My man stayed comfortable and chill and we left happy and without the drama of discussing the much maligned '2nd mortgage' that exists in his overactive imagination when just pass La Cantera.. Macy's is well stocked, organized, has some truly great sales . Need to shop with your man? Fly first class high under the radar at Macy's La Cantera.

Shoped Mens dept over 15 years. John was great. Now not so much since he retired. Was sold a suit. Told not on rack. Have to order. Suit top comes too small no pants. Pants sent separately. Took the suit jacket back and swapped for right size which was on the rack and got the pants cause they were there too. The shipped Pants never came separately.So second salesperson for the commission charged me twice and I always pay with Macys card then pay off balance immediately. Sticking me for about $90 for pants I never received. No customer service these days should be a one star. Never going back. Don’t order from here this is second time item was wrong size. Have disputed the charge twice and was given email address to send text showing they were being sent separately but email bounces and can’t understand the people giving me the email address.

Everything about contacting this store says 'Leave us alone and let us die in peace'. The automated system rides you into dead extensions. Any department that does answer puts you on hold and either disconnects, or tells you to call the main number again. NOBODY wants to talk to you. After 'tricking' the system into getting a person on the line, Samantha from Men's tailored clothing dept made me wish I had simply been disconnected. She stumbled through writing down a 7 digit sku # SIX TIMES. I literally had to tell her six times. She would often tell me to hold and talk to people walking by. Finally, she told me she'd call me back and hung up. I felt like I was coaching the special olympics. So do I feel bad about Amazon killing these brick and mortar dungeons? Absolutely not. The sooner the better...

Beware of upcharging! This place just makes up prices to make their deals look better than they are. I got a really amazing suitcase, thinking it was an amazing deal. The tag said $725 and I got it for around 270. Then I looked it up on the manufacturer site and pretty much every other big stores site. The max price it was for was 350, and on the manufacturer’s site, on sale, was 369 on sale for 295. Before you think you're getting an amazing deal, do research and make sure it IS the best deal. I got lucky and with coupons that happened to be the case- others might not be so lucky. I really hope they don’t actually sell it for 725. The one star was for the staff, who were very helpful. But thanks to macy’s sleazy practices I may not shop here again.

Plenty of stock , the first staff member we encountered pointed us in the right direction but after that we were left to wander. Eventually finding where we needed to be but with no staff in sight. We ended up leaving with out making a purchase deciding to view the choices on-line. Usually staff is easier to find I hate tracking people down to get them to do their job. We shop at stores more than on-line but at stores it seems that the staff tends to like talking with fellow staffers then making a sale. I guess managers have done away with any commissions on sales thereby changing the employee's drive to make more sales and keep the customer coming back.

Don't shop here alone unless you want be treated like a criminal. Also, this time the person at the register would not take no for an answer when she asked me if I wanted to sign up for a credit card. Like literally would not stop asking "why?" When I told her no, happened at least 4 times. I had to finally say "I just want to pay for my stuff and leave." She finally relented but then acted like an insolent child for the rest of the interaction. I would've left mid transaction if the deal on the shirt i got wasnt so good. Not hard to see why department stores are dying. Check out Dillard's instead, I always have better experiences there.

I bought an expensive watch there yesterday and it was horrible. It took forever to get a salesperson, when they finally did come they walked away several times to help another couple that were already with another salesperson (I guess I was not spending enough money?), they did not offer to size the metal band, they gave me the wrong box (probably the most annoying as a watch collector), then told me the "sale price" would show up on the "back end" on the credit card statement since it did not show on the receipt. It all felt shady...no, dirty. Like I was buying a watch from the trunk of someone's car in an empty parking lot.

I bought a beautiful off white dress for my Wedding. I had to even ask the salesperson to put it into a dress bag so it would not get dirty. The day of my Wedding I got to the Chapel and put it on and noticed they forgot to take off the security ink tag. I started panicking and called Macy's for 45 minutes. Could not get ahold of anyone in any department. I had to ask a guest if I could wear their dress. I ended up wearing a black and gray over the knees dress. It was humiliating. I had to tell everyone what happened. Macy's took back the dress and refunded me and only gave me a $100 certificate to Macy's. I'm still so upset!

Never going back. Macy's has gone down hill. Needed a dress for the opera! I thought, Macy's all the way. The selections were good and I did find a dress, but it took a while. Not a lot of sizes for 14/16. I have a large chest so I need more room and don't want to be hanging out there. Never saw a sales rep on the floor. 1They only had 1 dressing room available for the whole floor. It was a Wednesday during the day but there was a line. The shoe department had 1 sales rep. She had to get sizes and ring people up. Took longer. I couldn't decide but didn't want to deal with the line anyway. Overall bad experience!

I have stopped shopping here over the years for no specific reason but received a few Christmas gifts and needed to return them so I figured I'd take a look. Although they have really nice things, the employees were so rude and degrading. My return was out of the "acceptable" window but I had a gift receipt and everything was brand new in the package never opened (and it wasn't seasonal items). The lady offered me pennies on the dollar what was paid and to add insult to injury, opted to MAIL me a store certificate that took weeks to a arrive. Even if I had a million dollars I wouldn't shop at this store.

My wife took me to Macy's. I hadn't been in years. She couldn't get me to leave. I was having a grand ol' time browsing for shoes, and trying on sports coats. Great brands at reasonable prices with lots of discounts and savings. I was truly impressed. I went to look for a thing sports jacket and walked out with 2 pair of shoes, sweat pants and items my wife added to her Macy's app to purchase and get an additional 20% off. I'm ready to go back and browse some more and see what I end up purchasing lol. Ricardo at the La Cantera location was very helpful to my wife and I

I love this store. The woman are extremely friendly and I feel like they want my business. Im treated with respect and courtesy with every transaction, whether it be returns, purchases, or price matching. We had found a beautiful dress at this store got my mom, online it was much less and I had no problems getting it for that price. The woman are helpful when you're trying on clothes or simply want another opinion on how something appears on you. The variety in this store is great for men and woman, they even have a sunglass hut!

Great customer service as always. But even more now with covid being a factor. With mask on it is difficult to communicate. They make sure you know they are trying to help you. Update May 2023: The dressing rooms are not monitored as they used to be. Couples a (man and women) were in a dressing room stall. I've seen it twice same day. Just thought it was strange. I'll just buy it try it on at home and return it if it doesn't work out. The chocolate candy stands are great idea! I always need dark chocolate.

My daughters and me went looking for shoes for an upcoming event and were completely ignored. We had to keep going up to the group of workers, that were in a group almost the whole time talking, and ask for sizes of the shoes we were looking for. At Dillard's they really helped us,to the point that even though we didn't find a pair they pointed us to different stores. I don't know if it's because of my long hair or the way I was dressed but I never been to a place that treated me so disrespectful as an adult.

My girlfriend and I went in to make around a $500+ purchase for various items. We received little to no help when we inquired for assistance, and what little help we received was cut short by the employee prioritizing an older couple who looked more affluent. I reached out to speak with a manager/team leader about my experience and was hung up on by the automated system after selecting the correct department to speak with. Do not waste your time here, and they do not deserve your business. Trust me!!

Love this store. Extremely clean and really has something for everyone. I'm a larger man, so finding decent clothes to fit has become a challenge. Nevertheless, I was able to find Big and Tall Levi 550 jeans in my size and a Tommy Hilfiger shirt in an XXXL size. There weren't many people to help in locating the sizes, so you will have to do some leg work. But the lady who checked me out in Fragerence was so nice and pleasant. I will definitely be back to the shops at La Cantera - Macy's.

The female associate working at the Estée Lauder counter on Saturday evening, 12/10/22 was very rude and dismissive when I asked for a face cream that showed it was in stock online. She had straight brown hair, fake eyelashes, and was wearing green Nike Jordan shoes. I asked if she could check which other store locations had it in stock and she said she couldn’t. She told me to just go to Dillards. Would recommend additional customer service training for this rude employee.

SAY NO TO FURNITURE!!! I have been trying to get my couch delivered for a month and it started with 3 different delivery fees because they billed us for the couch to be delivered in sections.... The couch never showed the first delivery and the second delivery they were missing the legs to a section of couch and the ottoman was still on a different truck with no notice. To this day still waiting for my ottoman.... like the cloths they have but say no to FURNITURE

I went to the kids’ department upstairs to only find one employee up there while I’m struggling to trying to find the shoes. She was nice when I did ask, but extremely disappointed finding the kids’ shoe section had only 3 sets of shelving for them and there was almost NO product and it was a mess. For an “upscale” place like this they had such a pitiful selection of kids shoes and were so disorganized. I ended up finding a better selection at Kohl’s.

Just wanna give a shout out to Julissa at Macy’s. Thank you so much for such a great experience today. You’re gentle persuasion, caused me to buy more than I expected to But that’s OK. I’m very happy with my purchases. You’re amazing! I love this Macy’s store. The floor managers are amazing. You’ll never be in there long before one of them approach You and ask if They can help you. Spending money should always feel this good.

I love the variety available however the staff leaves something to be desired...I have had a handful of the staff go above and beyond to provide excellent customer service but overall I have stood at the fragrance counters, one of the many examples, waiting for assistance and often having to seek them out...this has happened on several occasions. They can work on that as you lose business if customers have to seek you out...

I went Friday to get some things for my apartment came across a chunky rope blanket orange it had no price it took about 1hr just to tell me the blanket was going to be $159 which is ridiculous it was stepped on and torn I found it in the clearence section in bedding’s where everything is a massive mess not one thing up there has prices and they get upset when you ask. I cannot believe I was treated this way.

Careful....Staff is prejudice... will talk behind your back and talk down to you if you card is decline. Turns out it was their machine and when she swiped again. It worked. Looked at me as if to say NO way you can afford this. When I left. I overheard her say, "I didn't think his card was going to work." NEVER AGAIN. I'm sure I'm not first person that has been treated this was.

I really love this place! I never was a shopper at Macy's until recently when I started seeing what great quality clothes I could get for a low price. The store is usually organized. Sometimes it can get a bit messy, but that's just how retail is. Customer service is wonderful and they'll offer an online price if you're able to pull it up on your phone.

This was the 2nd time I went to this Macy's. They have a huge makeup area and upscale clothing.I first went in for a homecoming dance dress for my teen and then I went back in for clothes for my 5 year old girl and everything was fairly priced, maybe a bit overpriced for some items. The store is super clean and Im sure I will go back for certain items.

Enjoyed shopping at Macy's. The only thing that I noticed was that there were not many associates to check out. Men's dept had only one lady who was by the way awesome. She was checking, helping in the shoe dept men's wear dept, and serving customers with a smile. Great job. Hopefully when this Covid is over we can all support all of our local stores.

No one available on the whole right half of floor around 830 pm but for one register, close to closing, but still disappointed. Still sore that Macy's confiscated hundreds of dollars of "Macy's bucks" because I kept saving them instead of using them. So I may just switch to Dillards or Nordstroms or Nieman Marcus even though they are more expensive.

Came to this store today to make a return, mind you I live 30 miles from the closest macys and they tell me their systems are down.anlsom they don’t okie when they willl back up. …. Went 2 weeks ago and they were blaring Christmas music to the point my head started hurting. The carpeted areas were covered with stains. Most of the stuff there was not in fashion or just cheaply made. I went for levis but they didn't have any sizes smaller than an xl. The employees were nice which is why I gave it 2 stars

We bought a mattress from this store and were assured the deliverymen would move the old one upstairs to a different bedroom and then would put a headboard on the new bed frame. Neither was true. Apparently customers are deceived in this way often. Salespeople will say anything to make a sale. Now you are warned.

Yesterday, after I finished my work, I went to buy colognes. The only woman who was there to help me was Anna, who, although she had less than an hour to finish her work, helped me with patience and forbearance so that I could buy two good colognes. Very nice location. Very clean and organized. I needed to buy some Coco Chanel Mademoiselle and as I was walking in, there were two large posters for exactly what I was looking for. Horrible service. I was suppose to get a furniture delivery today. Got one of the two items because the biggest item was damaged and instead of talking to me about next steps the delivery driver got in his truck and drove away. If I could give zero stars for macys furniture I would.

The customer service was descent here. The sales woman was friendly, but did not offer too much advice or solution attempts for my wife in her search for boots. My wife decided to not buy the boots she liked here because she didn't really feel fully appreciated as a customer.

I was looking for a tie clip and called this store. The sales associate that answered the phone could barely speak English and struggled to understand what I was asking for. Due to the language barrier, she simply barked "No" and hung up on me. Very unprofessional behavior.

I love the store, but they need to staff it better. There was 1 person in men's and the 1 person was in purses. There was nobody in ladies. I wanted to buy a purse I had to wait an hour to get serves. She was checking out all the women from the ladies department.

Went here to shop before my vacation. Finding what I wanted went smoothly. However, every single item I bought, 6 items, they never removed the tags! I didn’t realize this until after I got back home. This store is 2.5 hours away from where I am at. Do better.

My wife and I always like walking through the store. They always have great clothing choices and the staff is friendly any time we ask for help. During black Friday, it was surprisingly easy to get stuff done and they tended to have plenty in stock.

I picked up an order and even though there were 7 people in front of me an amazing store clerk took returns to her cash register to ease the work on the two customer service desk clerks. Si line moved fast and clerks hassled to make wait time less.

I went to La Cantera Macy’s for Christmas shopping and I felt like I was in a ghetto Macy’s. Nothing to see here. Not impressed at all. If you went to the Dillards at La Cantera they had much better selections of everything!!!

This was the saddest Macy's I've ever seen. Short on staff to direct or check out. Merchandise was minimal and not as up to date as might be expected. Did not find shoes but did find the right sweater that I was seeking.
