I am glad you chose to see why I gave this place 3 stars. I am not familiar with Somalian or East African, food, culture and people. Glad I had the unique opportunity to be in the USA and still experience samples of other cultures. Quick reminder before you interact with other cultures foe. Practice patience. This place confuses me. For so many reasons. It’s hard to find. Parking lot is a disaster and when you try to get in line it’s confusing because the menu is confusing and there are people everywhere. I was so confused. When you finally get to the menu. Nothing looks familiar. I didnt know what I did or did not like so it made it difficult to make a decison. I used everything I know to make the best guess based off what I thought I liked and what kind of sounds familiar. Scary but okay. Noone is sure about everything. I am not sure about anything anymore. Based off of a picture with no prices. It’s hard to compare the value of each. The person at the register will only say the price of the dish you ask but wont tell you what the cheepest dish is…Weird. The wraps on the bottom right are easy comfortable dishes for under $10 but don’t capture the essence of why you come to a place like this. I would try anything you can dip that beautiful bread into. If your willing to travel 1,000s of miles to experience culture. A quick trip in your backyard is fine. To make it simple. If your curious to try some delicious food outside of your comfort. The food here is really good and they have some special secret green sauce. 3 stars, it’s not for everyone. Like most things.

I saw the 4.9 star review and had to try Madina and I'm so glad I did. It isn't a fancy restaurant but the quality (and quantity) of the food and the very reasonable price make this an amazing choice. I ordered the beef and rice lunch and it was incredible. Starts out with a wonderful bowl of soup - nothing fancy but knowing the health benefits of a broth-based soap, I dug in. A huge late of rice with wonderful raisins and a separate plate with the beef were out shortly. The raisins were infused with a modest amount of honey - truly amazing. Rice was really good. The beef was cut into thin, high quality slices. A very generous portion and, again, the subtlety and complexity of the flavors made this a real treat. Nice grill onions on this. A small pitcher of delightful lemon water - a very subtle experience - again, they know how to bring the best out of their ingredients. The lemon water was very mild and pleasant - I don't drink lemonade as I find it overwhelming. Finally, a nice healthy banana. The servers were friendly and attentive. My kid goes to school in Nashville - asked to bring lots and lots of friends over for some great, affordable meals.

10/10 Baris (rice)was amazing my wife and I come here often to get lunch. We are such a big fan of Madina restaurant and his people. The only thing I wish they could do better is to make sure they have avocado drink on time customers had to wait a little longer, but other wise everything else is perfect.

I heard about this place when I went to visit The Horn earlier today, and after having the opportunity to taste some of the food, decided it would be a great option for dinner. The food is fresh, and comes out pretty quickly! They have a few different options on the menu at this time, and I think it's still growing, but we had the chicken and beefsteak, with rice. The meals come with lemonade, and for a small charge, you can have mango juice as well, which we did. The meals are very filling, and I thought I might have some leftovers, but I ended up eating everything, and so did my dinner partner. It was great, the service was good, the people were friendly! Go support this new restaurant!

They renovated their restaurant and it looks really good now, food is something really special and it's a big portion we got goat and rice for 2 but I'm sure it was enough for 3, their orange juice and soup is complimentary so try it. Also, their service is perfect The food price is awesome compared to portion size. I think it should be appearing on search for Somalian food and East African food

One of the best food i ever have.my first time tried and i wont regret it. The portion is like for 2 ppl, and taste so yummy. I ordered tilapia and rice and they let me tried some kind of tea ( very tasty, i love it). They gave me one banana too. Tilapia is not as same as mexican tilapia. I think this tilapia is more tasty. I think they season with something. You gotta try rice here, it is very yummy rice. If i have a chance to come to Nashville again, i will definitely stop by this restaurant again.

The rice is exquisite, the KK is unique and delicious, really everything that I've tried there - goat, lamb, beef - is so good. The people who own the restaurant are also kind and very willing to share their culture with others. I can't wait to go back again! There are also many other shops in the area that allow you to travel the world without even leaving Nashville.

Highly recommend! The Madina Restaurant in Nashville has the most delicious food served by the nicest people! The rice dish with chicken and beef was so yummy. I thought it couldn't get any better, and then I tried the KK with chicken, which was like soft noodles in a delicate sauce that melts in your mouth. I'm excited to share this place with everyone I know. Can't wait to go back!

Interesting food to say the least. I think eating there would be better but take out was a little messy. The boat was great but the bones were a trial. The chicken was great as well. Overall I would say stop in and eat there. It will be a better experience.

Some of the best food I’ve ever had. I knew it was going to be good when I realized I was the only customer there who wasn’t originally from East Africa. I would highly recommend this place. It’s inexpensive, too. The menu on the wall doesn’t have prices. When I went to pay the total was half of what I expected. Amazing.

Great food! Super nice employees! 1st time having Somolian Food...it was amazing! If you are adventurous enough to try this place... maybe go even a step further and order the goat and rice...you won't be disappointed. Never had it before and it is good. I think it tastes like a cross between beef and lamb. If I lived in the area, I would certainly be a regular patron.

Fye. Had the Baris and chicken steak, I couldn’t stop eating it! It was amazing, I’ve never had rice that was so flavorful. 10/10 highly recommended. If you haven’t tried you’re definitely missing out.

This was my first visit here and it was WONDERFUL. The staff is very nice and friendly, and happy to answer any questions you may have. I will definitely be coming back here. I had the pasta and chicken, by far the best chicken!
