City of Tampa stated: The Madison Street Park has been undergoing renovations and its reopening was postponed due to COVID-19 closures, however, our parks and rec staff is working to determine when this park can be opened to the public as soon as possible. All City of Tampa Parks that were open before the COVID-19 park closures are currently open. Im so happy to be the first to welcome the New Madison Street park to the Channelside distrift of Downtown Tampa! The Madison Street Park is located North of Kennedy Grand Central, South of Bell Channelside, and West of Channelside Club off Madison Street and Meridian, North of Kennedy. The developer of Martin at Meridian, Ken Stoltenberg of Mercury Advisors, donated a portion of the land he purchased for his property to the park. The Madison Street Park features 2 gated dog parks, an event space, a putting green, 3 shaded areas, a 2 water fountain for dogs, 3 water fountain for people, picnic tables, benches, 5 lounge chairs, a kids play area, climbing blocks, a mixed-use recreation court for volleyball or pickleball, and 2 shuffleboard courts. There is also plenty of space to relax and enjoy the outdoors. I heard that there would be a 51-foot arched bench consisting of thousands of pieces of hand-blown Tampa Bay inspired glass art by artist Susan Gott but it is not featured at the park yet. Perhaps the artist is running behind schedule or decided not to feature her art at the park after all. The Madison Street Park provides a nice respite of a natural green space in the urban concrete jungle of the Channelside District area. The benefits of the Madison Street Park will be improved health and well-being for the neighborhood. The Madison Street Park is a perfect addition to the Channelside area to give everyone in Channelside a place for their dogs to have unleashed fun within a block or 2 from their residence. The Madison Street Park is 2 blocks south of the Deputy Kotfila Memorial Dog Park and 2 blocks north of Washington Street Park. Compared to these 2 parks, this park is larger and superior in every way! I look forward to many visits to here in the future and am so happy to finally get this park Downtown! It is a very pretty and we'll thought out park! I highly recommend you visit if you have a dog and are in the downtown Tampa Channelside area!
So, parks are good and all, but this one is rather small. There is a small play area for kinda, and the pickleball court is nice; except there is only one court so you have to wait your turn.
Beautiful and brand new. I wish the dogs play area was bigger and had more shelter and seating area
