I walked into the Emergency Room on January 30th 2020 and told them .... I was hit by a car on January 15 and it took me this long to come to them because it happened out of state. I showed them my hand and theres a bone out of place. I can feel it. A blind person can see it. I explained to them it was a hit-and-run and I didn't get to see exactly what happened. I did go to the emergency room in the state that it happened but I was going to be charged $7,000 for an examination. I knew my insurance wouldn't cover it so I opted to wait to get back to New York. For more then 1 reason. After taking three x-rays their conclusion was it was an old boxer's fracture from 5 years ago.. one of the X-ray technicians ask his coworker do you believe he was hit by a car his co-workers says no. Now I guess I wasn't supposed to have heard that so I acted like I didn't then they turn to me in ask so what part of the car hit you I said the mirror. After that conversation I was escorted back to the emergency room I was discharged about a half hour later with a hand brace. Now problem is at no time was i asked was i hurt anywhere else. As I told him it happened on the 15th they're trying to tell me something from 5 yrs ago. Now what took me so long to get to New York was I suffered a broken rib and a broken foot the car mirror that hit me hit me in my ribs and threw me 10 feet from where I was standing landing on my hand flipping me over to hitting the sidewalk . I was never given a chance to explain all of that because I was stopped short with the non belief that A mirror could have done such damage to my hand. The whole time that I was there they kept telling me that it was the injury from 5 years ago no one wanted to pay mine that it was something that happened recently. I could not believe that they would literally ignore what I was telling them over what they were reading on my file from 5 years ago.. I just don't understand how hard is it to listen to your patients and not make an assumption over what you're reading. I posted a picture of what my hand look like the day of the accident. Yes i have to go to another hospital because no one would listen. I was hit by a car I was already a victim I went to the hospital and felt even more like a victim.. if you're in this hospital and you notice that they're talking at you and not with you you should leave.. I used to speak highly of this Hospital and I used to recommend this hospital to just about anyone now I send out a red flag of caution to anyone that goes to this Hospital. I hope somebody in the ministrative office reads this and takes action before someone dies from neglect from people that are so proud to call themselves professionals.
my husband and I arrived in an emergency room with a temperature of about 40 degrees Celsius. We counted on urgent assistance from the medical staff. But instead we got NOTHING! In addition to us, there were only 2 more patients, but this did not prevent the medical staff from keeping us for more than 3 hours without assistance! We burned from the temperature, but we were not offered any pills to remove the temperature. My husband had to go to the doctor 3 times and ask for at least something to make us feel better. One got the impression that it was not a doctor, but a passer-by, because sometimes he hung out for a while to think. As a result, he gave us the usual Tylinol, which did not help us! At the same time, he presented all this, that he supposedly needed to write out a prescription first, and only then would he order the nurse to give it to us. Are you seriously??? Tylinol prescription that I can freely buy at any gas station? Also, we were not even offered to do x-ray. We had to ask ourselves to do it. As a result, before doing this, I had to take a pregnancy test. The test, which is done in 2 minutes, took them 2 hours!!!!!! And only when we began to lose our temper, it turned out that there was a result)) In general, we were left without medical care, without results, with a huge misunderstanding of how to work like this !!! are you doctors or what??? Or do you really care about people? you can only count money by exposing crazy bills for something you can’t cope with !!! I can write many more nuances, such as: they began to reproach us that people are waiting and more usually (I agree if there are other patients in the emergency room); the doctor was constantly sitting at the computer, he didn’t care at all what was happening around him; to our request to send the results by mail - we received a refusal; when asked if our attending doctor could get the results, they reluctantly gave a phone number, but our doctor never received anything .... I highly recommend DON'T GO HERE!! Unprofessional, indifferent workers here!! And I want to wish the staff to find a job that you will like! Otherwise, do not cripple people and do not take up space for real doctors!
Stay away from this hospital for in patient care! During this Covid period when family members typically can’t be there, at best neglect is happening. I was able to gain access due to my mother in laws diminished mental capacity (by law) I was able to prevent them from putting in a feeding tube. No one bothered to look at her chart. During multiple visits I witness terrible things. A patientbeside my MIL had a mask covering his face when he was transported. No one noticed he still had an intubation tube in. When the nurse tried to remove it (no gloves/no mask) she couldn’t get it out. She had to call for help. She didn’t know who he was because she DIDNT HAVE HIS CHART! When I asked if PT had been there the nurse refused to answer me. When I asked if the chair that my MIL sat previously had been removed because something happened or was it being shared with other patients she became furious. She called the PT dept and screamed at them in Russian. This resulted in a PT coming up screaming at me in English and Russian and dragging my MIL from her bed across the floor, soiled chuck still attached to her exposed backside. The nurse then called security to have me removed. (Witness too much) I was waiting to speak to the doctor that was on his way. I asked for a nurse supervisor and when she came she refused to give me her name. They were all screaming at me. I was physically intimidated and removed from the building. I had called the social worker during this so she heard it all. The doctor had to bring me in from outside to apologize and update me. The Director of Nursing also apologized but there’s no repercussions, no suspensions, no retraining. I wish you could leave zero stars but then you can’t post. Thank God we are transferred out

Mom was in unbearable pain but afraid to go to a hospital due to Covid 19. We went to an urgent care facility who said she may have a serious condition and needed to go to the hospital straight away. They called an ambulance. We told the EMTs NOT to take her to Beth Isreal due to so many previous bad incidents. They offered Community and we went. Everyone there was cold as ice. If they weren't condescending, they were curt and rude. No exceptions. Mom was in genuine agony and told them the pain prevented her from laying on her side. They would bark orders at her and if she hesitated, they would rough her into the position they needed, ignoring her cries. I felt so helpless. I tried to appeal to them that she is 82, in pain, and scared. They couldn't care less. The atmosphere reminded me of an office setting. Everyone seemed to be there for the paycheck. Not what I call patient centered care. As for the place itself, it was really clean. The ER was orderly and the nurses at the desks seemed interested. They provided me with a hair net and a plastic body covering. I already had a mask. The non-medical staff were friendly and helpful. The wait was brief and triage was pretty efficient. It was immaculately clean and Covid prevention efforts were taken seriously. Overall, better than Beth Isreal, but not a great hospital by any measure.
If I could give this place a negative 5 stars I would. The doctors are good but everyone else below a doctor has the worst patient care service imaginable. I brought my grandmother to the 4th floor for cataract surgery. This is our second visit, which re assured me how terrible the first one actually was. We arrived at 6:30am for a scheduled appointment and we are now leaving at 1pm. Each and every time I asked anyone any type of question I was answered with nothing but attitude and not an actual answer. What this staff fails to realize is we are leaving I loved ones in your care. When I asked questions in regards to my grandmother majority of the answers were I don’t know which does not work for me. Each time we enter this establishment for “scheduled” appoints we end up staying for 7 hours or more. When I asked what time her procedure started being that I haven’t seen her for four hours I was told to request her medical records. Each time I was greeted with nothing but hostility and that’s exactly what the staff got back. It’s called patient care! My grandmother was left in the hall in a wheel chair falling asleep while her transportation waited outside l. I had to request to have her brought down or we would of missed her transportation. This is the worst place ever!!!
It should be against hospital policy for nurses and doctors to speak their native language while caring for a patient. I must say I’m no racist however, the Asian and Jamaican nurses are extremely rude. Quick to anger and lack love and kindness for the field of nursing. It’s unfortunate that most hospitals are swamped with nurses that typically don’t love what their doing. A hospital should monitor what their staff are doing 24/7 to insure policies are practiced at all times. There should be an even balance of American versus foreign nursing staff. Unfair treatment should not be tolerated at no time. Again I don’t want to hear nurses and doctors speaking to each other in their language. Especially if your not aware what languages your patient speaks. You must assume anyone may know the language your speaking. I have witnessed nurses at this facility talk negatively about the patients typically the Asian staff. In addition, according to HIPPA laws and regulations the staff is not allowed to discuss patients informing with each other. FYI never forget to check the background of a hospital, Drs and nurses reviews before you choose a hospital. Stay far away from this hospital it is by far one of the worsts.
Wow I can’t believe the rewievs here, I have lived in this country for 4 years and this is the best hospital Experience I have ever had and Doctor Tkach must be the best doctor I have ever seen in my entire life, to be completely honest I never liked doctors and dr.Tkach has completely changed my perspective, all stuff members Nurses and doctors who examined me were incredibly attantive and caring, even extra extra caring and really sweet to me, doctor was soo professional explaining to me every detail and nurses as well telling me all the time what they were gonna do to me, doctor also made sure to check me so many times and do all the tests neccessary to make sure what was truly going on with me, he has made sure I felt cared for and safe, I have left this hospital feeling soo happy, hospital itself is really clean, it might not be so modern but it is clean(and I am a germophobe so I would know) I was actually amazed at how amazing this hospital is and couldnt stop telling my mom and pointing out to her what a calm sweet and caring doctor Tkach and other doctors who did sonogram on me were and all the nurses and stuff members who took care of me as well... huge THANK YOU to them!
Very sad experience the doctors and nurses are great, in the emergency room the aid bring a cold white towel wet on end of it to wipe my private part and the other end to dry I asked her to bring a bowl of water I will do it myself she said ok and never come back ,I waited for an hour to go upstairs because no room was available, after I got my room ,my bed not prepared so this was another hour waiting, then the nurse came to take my blood my vien was not found she stated trying different methods to bore my neck, after trying beating my arm from top to bottom I asked her to used a warm conpreess which she used thanks God for my knowledge and I was alert a cleaner sounds like a mad man looks at me and said I don't like you I hate you, I asked do you know me I was scared for my life I tell a next aid all she saying this is covid room I think everyone in the hospital needs to check out by a medical doctor because they all going crazy the doctors and some nurses are awesome but the service stinks, I even forget my discharge papers because the person who was transporting me downstairs was yelling at me to pack up quickly I will take this to Albany to complain
In an emergency, you might be tempted to go to their ER. Do not, find a better hospital. I've been there twice, once to get rabies shots, once I brought my child in with stomach pain as it was the closest hospital... The nurse gave us the wrong rabies schedule, and told us not to come back for second, third and fourth shots. After asking the doctor and other nurses (who have terrible attitude, except for one nice Philippino lady), finally figured out the the schedule was wrong. They REALLY care about getting your insurance info... My child WAS ADMITED to ER with terrible stomach pain, after 40 minutes of waiting to see the doctor and complete disregard from staff, they informed us that they had no pediatric doctor and if we wanted to they would arrange transportation to another hospital for which they would bill us, we would have to wait another 30 minutes.... I grabbed my kid and we jetted to Methodist hospital... we were treated very kindly and noone approached us with insurance questions until they have treated our child.... In short, uncaring, unprofessional staff, tons of mistakes. Admited a child without a proper doctor on board.
Worst hospital ever! My father had a stroke and was taken by the ambulance to the closest hospital which unfortunately was NY community hospital. He stayed there for 4 days and not ONCE did I get to have a conversation with a doctor in person. I was there everyday from 12-7pm and not a SINGLE doctor came in to have a conversation with us. Nobody cared, I had to ask the clerk to call the doctor so I can speak to them and only after the THIRD attempt did I finally get to speak to the doctor (3 days later) who wasn’t able to diagnose my father’s severe pain. On the day of his supposed discharge - a cardiologist last minute decided he wanted my dad to get a pacemaker. He didn’t even approach us or tell us this information. He told the nurses, which was then relayed to us. When I tried to reach him they said the doctor wasn’t available. I waited 3 more hours and said that’s it we’re leaving. My dad sat in the hospital for 4 days and didn’t even know who his doctor was. This is unacceptable. Please don’t ever take your loved ones here at all costs. Get out of there and get a second opinion before they ruin your loved ones life.
This hospital is close by to where I live so I choose it for convenience, BUT I would prefer this over C.I Hospital, Maimonides, or whatever else crap hospital there is out there. I received proper treatment here many a times due to my chronic asthma and have never been disappointed. The wait averages depending on the time of day you go 8am is a change of shift, 7-8 pm I believe is another change of shift so they take longer. I like the new fast track they installed instead of everyone having to be cramped up in one place for emergencies. Dr. Vicktor and Shistak, god I know I'm butchering their names xD are wonderful doctors!!!!! I also had to be admitted once for my gallbladder removal. Everything went well nurses were dolls and I actually met a nurse who so happened to be my kindergarten best friends brother, what are the odds of that??? Anyway you do have some there who are actually grouchy AF but that's in every hospital (maybe they should pick a different profession) but I don't allow it to prevent me from receiving care from this place. Overall I give it 4 stars =)
My experience, Very Thankfully is 5 stars across board from the admitting office to the emergency room to the hospital floor which my father was treated and extremely well taken care of ! Communication pertaining to my fathers stay and well being was welcomed and maintained around the clock by A truly professional staff ! Both my family and myself felt both at ease and confident that we had made the right decision in bringing my father to this community hospital for his kidney stone Emergency! With Great regards to the full 3rd floor staff ..They were Polite , Professional and nothing short of amazing! As for the 2 gifted Angels that gifted my father all of there hearts with the Very BEST OF CARE !!! Nurse Benyaminnova and her assistant Ms . James ! I Thank you both Very , Very much for your outstanding service and care ! Both professionals made this experience the best I could ever dream of and expect ! Proud to have this hospital in our community !
First off I want to say, I respect the overworked staff and doctors. That being said, this hospital in the ER is way too overcrowded, when I was there, the night shift doctor was swamped with 60 patients in the ER. And I managed to catch COVID here as well after visiting the ER room. MY suggestion is if you have no choice but to go here for an emergency, wear double masks and bring with you hand sanitizers. I caught covid from probably one of the patients who was brought there while I was waiting in the ER as well. If you do not have a real emergency, I don't recommend you come here. In fact, I would travel out of state somewhere because the hospitals in NYC are currently packed and way over crowded which brings more chances of infections to spread. You best option would be first to do a television with a Doctor and only go to the ER if it is a real emergency, but even then you will be waiting for hours because of how overcrowded this place is.
Worst hospital visit I’ve ever had. After rupturing my eardrum, I got an ear infection and went to the EA after I couldn’t bear the pain. The nurse who attended me, was mad that I showed up and told me I should have waited until the morning to come that nobody is here to see me. Two nurses were sleeping at the front desk of the ER room. However, the one benefit of my trip here was that the hospital sends its debt collection to an illegally run company that allows you to pay debt with credit. You’re not supposed to be able to pay collections agencies with your credit cards. They called me numerous times after I paid my bill to confirm my payment because they don’t seem to use a computer system to track such things. And my receipt for paying this bill was stapled to a folded blank sheet of computer paper. The receipt had no details, no sum of the services provided. It simply stated $800 paid.
Contrary to the other reviews, I had a pretty good experience here getting an MRI for my knee. They got me an appointment much faster than other radiology locations, the staff was professional and the MRI experience for my leg was much easier than I was expecting. My results were ready the very next day, took just a few minutes to retrieve them, and if I had gotten the MRI earlier in the day (before 3pm when the records office closes), I could have had them same day. The only downside was waiting ~35 mins in the lobby, but once they got to me I was in and out. The facilities also look rather dated, some areas are refurbished but others have clearly gone a long time without some attention. I don't know if I'd choose to get surgery here if I could avoid it, but overall my MRI experience was above expectations.
In March 2021, I got sick with COVID-19. I came to the New York Community Hospitalv hospital in Brooklyn and asked for help. A hospital employee in the waiting room told me that I can get help with COVID-19 for free. I agreed , and they put me on an IV with artificial antibodies, assuring me that it was free. But now, from the Community Hospital in Brooklyn, I was sent two different bills for emergency care on the day when I was put on an IV. One of them is for $ 458 dollars, the other for $ 1668.08 dollars. In addition, they contacted the credit bureau to get $ 458 from me for treatment for COVID-19. I don't understand how this can be? If the treatment for COVID-19 is free, why do they send me bills? Why did they send me two different invoices for the same visit on the same day?
My mother was in the hospital from February 18 February 21 ho through ER. They’re all possible tests on her. They said she had to stay in the hospital because her sodium level was 125 which is too low. no medication to increase sodium was provided. We couldn’t understand why she had to stay three days. When they discharge her, the doctor advised to eat pickle to increase sodium level. They placed her in the room with witha bad and a broken alarm button. I was not able to reach a nurse or doctor to speak to. The explanation was that they have staff shortage. I called supervisor to reach out to her doctor. Miss Gonzalez, supervisor told the doctor he’s having lunch. Nobody got in touch with me, I guess as the launch was too long. I would never recommend it to anybody.
I’d give this place 0 stars if I could. waste of my life. Here over two hours with severe back pain. They do not even offer mri service and make you feel crazy for thinking that’s an option… I had a worker come up to me and basically tell me since I’m not paralyzed nobody’s going to rush me for an mri… and questioning why I believe I deserve one and everything that I feel. Soooo incredibly horrible to do to someone in pain and pregnant. I am waiting two hrs for a referral after getting 0 answers and dealing with these nasty people. I am disgusted with this place. Now that I am nasty back, I’m getting funny looks. Don’t like it? Don’t treat your patients that way. Treat others how you want to be treated especially when you’re getting paid to do so!!!
Updated Review: As Maimonides Midwood. In-patient care has noticeably diminished, understaffed causing oversights or downright lies to cover up. We know hospital food claims to be healthy, sorry fried is never healthy, but it is bland, tasteless bordering rancid covered in horrible glaze/gravy rendering it inedible. I fear what was once my go to hospital may not be anymore. Very disappointing. One bright spot -- the urgent care side of emergency room during day to handle to the less critical cases quickly and easily. The staff on both sides of emergency room do their best to care for patients. As NY Presbyterian Hospital: staff was very attentive, helpful and made stay easier to bear. Food may not have been the best tasting but they tried
I've never seen such a mean and miserable case manager before, impatient and uncaring social workers and a useless patient advocate. Some of the doctors seem very knowledgeable, but administration will not let them implement the procedures and diagnostics they order. Then the case manager comes in to really drive home how much they don't care about your healthcare. I have an unknown neurological problem that affects my speech amd overall body weakness. Not only would they not run the tests their neurologist ordered to find out what is wrong, but I was treated with so much impatience, the entire experience was very scary at a time I was so helpless. I almost called 911 to get me out of there.
Don't go to that hospital please. I sent my 85 years old mom there. She was in 1 room with 6 other elderly people. I was allowed to visit every day. I saw that elderly people not getting attention, they being sedated. They kept my mom on the restricted chair from the moment she woke up to the bed time. Its cold there and she was only in one gown. I asked to dress her but nurses refused, saying it's easier to take them to the bathroom and do all kinds of tests. I asked to put TV on, they said no sound. I asked to shower mom, they said no hot water. After 5 days being in that hospital, my mom returned in the worst condition and 3 days later she got tested positive for covid-19.
By far the worst hospital. I don't know if this even classifies as a hospital. The attending nurses are always talking on their phone. Nurses have no idea what they are doing with the patient. My mother has been here for two days and they now ask if she is diabetic. When I specifically told them when she was admitted into the ER that she was diabetic. Nurses have their own groups. The whites, the blacks and the Asians. I'm from Spanish decent and neither the whites nor the blacks paid any attention to my asking for info of where my mother was when I came back for the second day. This is disgraceful. This establishment should be shut down.
This is the worst hospital I have ever been to I’ve come here twice once when I was pregnant with my son because I didn’t feel him moving and they told me they had no one to service pregnant people what hospital can’t do a simple sonogram? I came again tonight because it’s the closest hospital to my home because my son took a fall off the bed I come in and I’m greeted by a woman who seems like she couldn’t care less about anything happening and then I get sent a doctor that tells me that she can’t take care of my son because they don’t have a pediatrician on site what hospital doesn’t have a pediatrician? If I could leave no stars I would
Poorly run facility with staff that treat patients like criminals for coming to the ER. Hippocratic oath seems to go out the window as soon as they get a job here based on their behavior. Wouldn't send someone here unless i wished them ill. Go anywhere but here. Staff likes to sit around and gossip instead of seeing patients, keeping them waiting for hours at a time only to send them home with nothing to show for their wait except for an insurance charge and discharge papers. The saving grace of this facility was a nightingale in red nurse asgarova who was absolutely amazing in her bedside manner and responsiveness to the patients needs.
The main problem here is scheduling and communication. First of all if you tell patient to be at 10 am for surgery then normally the procedure, surgery should start not in 3 hours .. especially for elderly people who have to skip food for at least 12 hours .. Its unacceptable. Secondly, when I called and asked for patient status I got mixed messages. Its a mess. One person told me she is in surgery room already , second she is not ready yet , third said call in 2 hours. I was lucky to connect to patient directly and got a clear picture.. surgery not even started. Overall looks like this institution is running in wrong direction.
My parents were there twice in 14 months - between Feb 2015 and April of 2016. I have to say that the service got worse compare with the first time. The experience we had last February(2/15) was not as bad, but this time it was terrible. The doctors don't have bedside manner. No one else treated you with the respect you deserve except two ladies by the name of Ms. Lieberman and Ms. Natalie. They talk to you like you're a criminal. They renovated E.R. section, but it didn't look any good. I am surprised that they are affiliated with NY Presbyterian Hospital which is a fantastic hospital. This is a terrible hospital
if you want your loved one to die, this is the perfect place to do so. My mom was in the emergency room on Sunday for 9 hours and still hasn't received any help. Nobody cares about the patients. She was dehydrated and needed an intravenous infusions ASAP, but the doctor said to wait until Monday because there were no staff to take X-rays or doctors to order treatment. Tylenol was administered to her 5 hours later, After I get tired to ask the nurse to check the temperature. You need to stay in the emergency room for a day or two because there are no rooms in the hospital. Very rude staff, worst place ever.
Mixed bag. My mother was just there with a hip fracture. Emergency room staff and patient rep were professional and friendly. Not so much when transitioning from ER to her room. Transport almost asked her to walk into her room. Luckily, she is alert and was accompanied. Once we arrived in the room, the nurse quickly stated that I needed to leave because I am male and there was a female roomate. After raising the issue with the patient rep and a supervisor, clarification was given that I could visit, but could not stay overnight. However, the offputting and impersonal manner of the nurse was upsetting.
We were sent to their emergency room by a doctor. Upon arriving the administrator after reading the note from the doctor indicated that they can’t provide survives to us as they didn’t have pediatric unit and that we have to go to another hospital. We left. A month later two of their doctors and their emergency room billed my insuarance over 2000 usd. My son was not seen or examined by neither a doctor nor a nurse. We were sent away within 2 minutes of entry. The only thing the place did was get a copy of my insurance card and basically charged 2k for asking us to go to another emergency room.
This is the worst place in the world, the nurses make fun of the elderly, they are very rude too and I went for surgery and they put me in the room with all the elderly and after I spent two nights with the elderly, a nurse said why I was with the elderly and they changed my room with other elderly people who couldn't even speak and just made noise, this place needs someone to check the rooms because that is terrible, they don't have toilet paper. The nurse says after 7 pm doesn't visit so someone next to me in the same room she came to visit and the nurse said oh you can be here late, idiot,
If you are looking for the worst hospital in Brooklyn, look no longer- this place highly qualifies. You will find hard time to find any doctor who cares, no one will call you and if you insistent enough someone will call you and lie. No matter what brought you to the hospital, your medical record will show ‘Covid’ and if you question it the response by dr Stolyar for example will be ‘Why such fuss about it? Everyone has COVID in this Hospital”. The only compassion you can find is in ‘patients care’ department but they are not doctors. In short : STEER CLEAR of this place.
I came in for difficulty breaking and chest with heart headache the nurse that stuck me for blood and I.V missed the vein and hit a nerve it had to be taken out I told her the head nurse i didn't want her anymore she seem nerves or just had issues. Apparently another patient had issue and left too however it's very unprofessional to state out loud I dont care if anyone like me I'm here to do a job. Guess what if no clients no hospital!!!! Nursing use to be about caring and compassion not saying everystaff was like her but she left a bitter taste in my mouth to go back
As a patient with ALS, I require more care, time, and understanding than a typical patient so, I was pleased that the staff was informed at morning meeting of my condition. My eight-day stay here in room 403B was as nice as a hospital stay can be. The people were amazing whether they were from housekeeping to NA’s, nurses, physicians, and specialists. Kind, caring, and experienced professionals in all departments. Even the food was pretty good. I have the option to go to two different hospitals in my Brooklyn neighborhood and plan to make this my primary hospital.
We were in ER with my husband. Staff was very pleasant. Nurse Chris was tons of pleasant energy. He was spreading positivity to everyone. Dr. Uptal Chaudry was nice and professional. To one question Who is going to take care of my husband and how long we should wait, he responded pretty fast and calmly. But Dr. Tkach was extremely rude and unproffesional. Usually when patients ask questions staff answers give me a second or soon or similar to these. But Tkach answer was cold and unprofessional "I don't know" . My question was who knows then if not on call doctor.
Doctors here are rude. One doctor got frustrated enough with a patient to be like “I don't care let her husband deal deal with it” as if Im not a person but an it. the experience truly encapsulates itself when the staff who is discharging me point blank makes it a point they need the bed for other patient as if im still not an active patient. what makes it worse is when the same staff doesn’t tell my nurse that I'm discharged causing massive amount of confusion. If you’re looking for doctors and hospital staff that cares about you, I’d go elsewhere.
I went to the ER yesterday and I must say out of all the times I’ve been to the ER in my life, this was the best experience. Every staff was so pleasant and nice but especially a nurse that was my nurse while I was there. I think her last name is Lask. She was so professional and I can tell she enjoy what she does. Everyone went above and beyond to make sure that I was good. I had a few test done to rule out any concerns and I wasn’t there all day...lol. They were pretty quick. From now on...any emergency needs....I will come to this hospital.
This is the worst hospital I've been to. I slipped, hit my head, passed out and vomited. I visited an urgent care and they referred me to this hellhole hospital for a CT scan. The physician decided instead that I had gastritis (?!?!), and discharged me. I visited another hospital the next day and they confirmed that, OBVIOUSLY, I had a concussion, which has left me with symptoms for the last six weeks. The hospital is filthy, the staff is rude, they don't care about your health, and they will submit fraudulent claims to your insurance company.
Most of the doctors, nurses, PCAs, housekeeping, etc. were very friendly and helpful. They went above and beyond to make sure my family member and I were comfortable in the ED. I’m taking off one star because the doctors quickly made an assumption of what happened without asking more detailed questions. I had to keep offering them background and side info, which made a big difference in how to further manage my family member. Thorough assessment is kind of a basic in healthcare, so that’s definitely something they need to work on.
In a word - HORRIBLE!! Unfortunately ambulances take you to the closest hospital - not much choice. Father in ER since 8:30am. No Bed to floor. But that’s not the worst part at all. The staff very rude and give no information. Mr. Rose (clerk) - very rude. Not helpful. Administrator on duty Ms. Pascal - very rude. Not helpful. Nurse , name not known (evening) not helpful. No information that is necessary is known. Don’t go. Obviously poorly run. I’ve been in healthcare for over 20’ years. This is the WORST I’ve ever ever seen.
ABSOLUTELY THE WORST! The scale is not low enough. I was waiting around for hours to get simple procedures done. The staff was unattentive, couldn't care less, terrible attitudes etc...my nurse never even introduced herself, nor did she ever check on me. I sat on a chair in the hallway with an IV waiting for the doctor...who never came! Mistakes were made taking my blood, had to be redone! Extremely incompetent, careless and poor knowledge. Understaffed & filthy. Be aware of this place, worst experience of my life.
I recently visited this hospital to have a procedure done. From the moment I walked in it seemed like everyone was expecting me and catering to me! The staff was really kind and caring all along the way. The entire process was very professional and efficient with minimal waiting times. My doctor, who is also great. Saw me and I got results the same day before I was sent home. This hospital located right in my neighborhood is a hidden gem. I was extremely impressed and appreciative. Thank you so much!
Terrible experience for my Brother 5 day stay so happy he was Transferred back to his original Hospital Social Services Department the worst ever Doctors called and said I did everything possible which was nothing couldn't even get a Prescription Delivered to the Hospital Nurses were Great Patient relations was able to Transfer him back to original Hospital just a nightmare when you call 911 EMS takes you to this if you could take your family to the ER Drive them yourself so happy this ordeal is over
Emergency room was ok considering all the omicron craziness. Hospital on the other hand - just bad. I had to wait for a minor surgery for a week, because they failed to make an appointment with the surgeon the first time around; 4 days of watery diarrhea and they didn’t even do a simple C. diff test and wanted to discharge me like that; doctors were impossible to find; nurses overworked; and on the last day and night of stay - no heat, while it was 20 outside. Overall a very unpleasant experience.
My wife went to hospital to get evaluated for a possible concussion. The triage was nice he took her into one of the beds that were available. Well we waited for an 1 hour and a half. And still no one. One nurse came by and was surprise that someone was there. We explain to her that we still haven’t been seen. But still no one came. So we left. It use to be very attentive but not anymore. Lot of standing around and nothing being done Probably next time I will go to nyu Langone in sunset park
Actually watched a patient come in after me and called before me when asked I was lied to and told she was here first. Yet my information was complete I was given a bracelet she however was still completing paper work and didn't have a bracelet. I feel racism was clearly used. I'm disgusted but in so much pain I have to wait and this is not how people in pain should be treated. Tears in my eyes the other woman showed no signs of pain at all. Yet clearly I was the wrong color unacceptable
I never write reviews for anything even if it's a bad service. This hospital is the worst hospital! I came here at 4 am and they kept me the whole day next day. No one came to check on me. When the doctor needed a bed, he came telling me I can go home and canceled doing my sonogram. He had no clue what I went in for and I kept asking if I can eat or drink. They didn't allow me to do anything and didn't care and sent me home. Don't ever go to this hospital. The worst hospital there is!
Emergency room is full of incompetent nurses that don’t care about the patients and lack competence. Staff acts like they’re doing you the biggest favor when they’re answering a simple question. If you lack the competence and compassion to work in the medical field, get a different job! Nurse Powell is especially unprofessional, incompetent and careless. When I refused to sign documents with no information filled in, she was spiteful and refused to help me afterwards.
The ER is pretty good but under no circumstances get admitted to this hospital. Absolutely no Communication between doctors . Waiting 2 days for a pain management Doctor to come see my 89 year old mother then told he’s on vacation.. Repeat just Horrible . Rooms are tiny and no handicap accessible bathroom for the patients. They hold you hostage and do unnecessary testing just to keep you longer. Waiting for over 3 hours for transfer to her rehab. Do not come here!!!
This is one of the worse places to come. I would rather die than come to this place. The nurses are rude, the policy for visiting is horrible. My father would ring the bell for help, no one would come. Even when I’m here no one would come. Caretakers here are rude. They walk into the room and do not identify themselves. One asked me”why are you here” I asked her back the same thing. She said “I’m in it for the dollar” this place is horrible. Go work at McDonald’s.
If I could give negative stars to this, I Would. I'm in here right now and my mom is getting surgery; the procedure was supposed to take 1-1:30 hours and it's been about 5 hours. The nurses are very rude every time I ask what's going to, one of them yelled at me, and none of them wants to give me proper information about what's going to. Most of the nurses are walking around talking on their cellphones or arguing in the hallway. THIS PLACE SHOULD BE CLOSED.
This hospitals employees are mean, rude, and must come from the bottom of the barrel!! It seems like the nurses and doctors are there as employees because no other hospital will take them. I will be reporting the staff there after this review. I've been in hospitals many times and this is the absolute worst!! I'm appalled from the sadistic staff. I hope nobody ever has to go through what this hospital has put me and my loved ones through!!
I went there last night around 7pm and got out around 8:30pm . The ER waiting room wasn’t packed and after I registered I was seen by a nurse right away and she was friendly . Right after I was seen by the doctor , dr. Ryan and he was nice , patient and answered all my questions and he eased my mind from worrying . After giving me a physical exam he referred me to a specialist for a better diagnosis. Thank you Dr.Ryan and staff .
The nurse was extremely rude to me when I visited this hospital today, and I wish I could give it zero stars. Horrible experience with the medical staff; it's disgusting to have to wait hours to see a doctor. My brother was bleeding when a nurse came to give him a pain shot, so I asked another nurse to put on the bandage because the other nurse didn’t put on the bandage. unbelievable that nurses can treat peoples like this.
Amazing service and attentive, If only I can give there 10 stars available for rating. With the current COVID, my mom has to come in for treatment. The staff in the COVID Treatment area are amazing, they are so attentive and patient, more so because my mom doesn't speak English. They are quick and efficient with the time and space that was given to service patients. Thank you so much for taking care of my mom.
This hospital is a Nightmare because they mixed up my medication and i suffered. Not that they cared when i complained and they didnt even bill my insurance company I have to deal with everthing and not to mention even if ur slightly sick they will try to keep u there for days u wont even get to see the doctor. He simply has no time for the patients at least i never met mine.
Worst hospital ever. If i could give -100 star ,i would give that. I went to this hospital emergency on 2018. Waited so many hours. Horrible treatment. Horrible accounts. Eventhough the medical bill was paid, yet they dont update on their system and put that illegally with debt collectors without checking with their system. I would never recommend anyone to go this hospital.
Good stuff members, when you come you get help but you need to wait and also they need more staff members with multiple languages. They are not big hospitals because they work as a local community hospital for first aid then if it is major problems they send them to different hospitals where they have the most updated technology and assistants. They open 24 hours.
Like one reviewer said. "Unprofessional and uncaring". Treatment is substandard. I've seen my puppy receive better care at the animal hospital. Wrongly diagnosed. They don't listen to the patients. Doctors, nurses and staff disappear avoid the patient's inquiries. I will never step foot in here again. Not even to visit someone. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT!
Horrible experience with medical staff, literally waiting 1.5hrs to get seen by a doctor which is absolutely disgusting.. they’re were no staff shortages, too top it off it wasn’t even a busy Day and basically every single nurse was on their personal phones- I saw one on a dating site on their phone.. all of this while siting in on my hospital bed.
I would like to express my gratitude to everyone who took exceptional care of my elderly parents, including the staff on the third floor, the nurses, and all the hospital workers involved. My parents would also like to extend a special thank you to Katherine Benyaminova for her outstanding professionalism and empathetic care. Thank you, Katya!
My mother went to the emergency room because she hurt her leg and foot. TWO doctors ran X rays and cleared her saying it’s just a fracture. When she went to her local doctor he told her both leg and foot are broken. Clearly they have a very incompetent team of doctors that do not deserve to be working in the field. Speaking with lawyers...
Was barrated for my religious views and life choices by a nurse on duty and witness them verbally abuse and neglect their patients wants and needs. They don't take consent or hipaa seriously and in my personal opinion, nor do they care for the lives and well being of their patients. Sorry but... I'm not sorry. If I could give a -1 I would
It is the worst hospital ever. Nurses are very rude and don’t care about the patient. Emergency room is full of irresponsible nurses. They are careless. Never go to this hospital. I was there and felt very bad. I had a dizzy and couldn’t walk by myself. Ella (who is nurse there) made me walk myself. She is irresponsible and neglect.
This hospital is trash came her to the er for pain and was not treated all the staff was rude. The rooms was filthy and bathroom toilets was old and rusted. Sat in pain for 10 hours no meds. Took the iv out myself to go home they chase me saying they were gonna call the cops on me when I’m the one not receiving any care.
Wish there was a no star option, I've spent the past 4 hours sitting on a foot doctor to show up so the foot doctor can refer me to an orthopedic. Why make me wait and have the foot doctor refer me when the doctor on sight could of done the same thing 3 hours earlier! Hands down the worst place to go to.
One of the very few GOOD hospitals in Brooklyn. Very professional, organized and caring staff ! Thank you for taking such good care of me. Stephanie Zogby especially for helping me along with everyone else. Thank you all first responders as well. Highly recommended!! They are a phenomenal team !
The worst. Doctors were nowhere to be found. Had to wait for procedure for a week, because surgeon was not contacted in time; four days of severe watery diarrhea and they didn’t even do a C. diff test and wanted to discharge me; the last day and night there - no heat, and it was 21 outside.
The doctor was ok, but the Asian nurses were mad rude and didn’t know what they were doing. Took the nurse few tries just to draw blood. When asked a question and stated that my pain had gotten stronger the nurse gave an attitude. I would rather stay home than to be served in such manner.
Er and nursing staff were excellent. We were rushed there at 4am for an emergency, the ER staff was amazing and super attentive to our needs. The Doctors and nurses were all extremely polite, caring and took their time to explain what was going on. I would highly recommend this hospital.
I had spent there two hours in the ER before they saw me, by that time my condition slightly improved but signs of the condition were barely seen so not sure how you can make diagnosis at that point. It was 1 am and they told me to get MRI which I could have done if they saw me earlier.
Never come to this hospital they will kill you the dr don't know what they are doing. Don't see dr Boris peysin he will kill you very slow and won't tell your family anything . He always say you leave tomorrow but tomorrow never gets here the only thing that you recieved is death .
My family member was treated in this hospital. The staff were fair. Unfortunately, the rounds were unstructured and the rooms were in desperate need of upgrades. The window had tape covered in mold. Yak. If you need quick service - come here, but only for short term treatment.
Wonderful food, but very little contact with physician staff and no detailed explanation of my condition or what the treatment plan was going to be. My prior experiences at Beth Israel Hosp. (Manhattan) were 100% better, but I was not in condition to travel into Manhattan.
Horrible hospital. All staff don't care about patient. There is no system of treatment. I waiting over 5.5 hours until put antibody. They are ignore when you ask to help. Very cold people work. No organize. Never represent self name. This hospital can for people for jail.
Took care of my dad a number of times I'm the years before he passed. Some top notch doctors , nursing staff is caring. It's an older facility but well maintained. It may not have the name recognition of some other facilities but dont be fooled, they are really wonderful.
I would give no stars if possible. Terrible place. They are still in the dark ages. What hospital doesn't have and MRI machine. The ICU attending makes up things to say rather than admitting he doesn't have answers. The nurses & pca's however were amazing and very caring
My husband was in ICU the aid was laughing in my face when i asked for clean nightgowns she told me he will get it when he will move to the floor. The nurse finally gave it to me when i complained loudly. The nurses did not gave me her name .Its 1:25 on November 10th.
Great staff, great service...but this hospital is OUT DATED! Even though you see the cleaning people cleaning, it still feels dirty...old furniture, old TV in the waiting room, old ER, old computers, OLD OLD OLD... Presbyterian should put some funds into renovating.
Truly an abomination of a hospital. Most nurses have serious attitude issues, won't give information, and don't take good care of the patients. There are multiple violations and concerns I had while walking around. Unsanitary. If you can avoid this place avoid it.
It's difficult finding a hospital that is well-run, efficient, and has attentive staff. This is not one of those places. The good thing about it is that it is less crowded than the bigger names in Brooklyn. Visiting hours (excluding ICU/Emergency) are until 8 pm.
They may have a good people working, but the billing system is terrible. You can't get a straight answer and they don't process your card on the spot, but "will mail you a receipt by mail". How do they run the hospital if they can't even process payments?
They should've at least covered my son's injured finger, at the emergency room, before asking all the insurance information and other questions. I had to actually ask them to cover it, and then they remembered that there's a child with an injured finger.
I would not go there if I was you .. my grandmother fell and lost her vision at this hospital. They don’t pay attention to their patients . I had something dropped off for my grandma and it’s been two days and no one went downstairs to get it for her ..
It is nice, but if you don't have insurance don't go there because they want you to visit the doctor office and then they charge you for the the time the doctor came to your bedside in the hospital. That is crazy, he work private in the hospital.
Some of the nurses and doctors are very very kind. One of the custodians gave me a cup of water since there was an Asian nurse who told him to give me water cause she was attending to another patient. I hope I didn’t get worse.
Security treats every visitor horribly. Long lines to visit patients—but have to show vaccine cards? But-Gathering of people in the lobby is safe. This hospital and the way treat people is why I left healthcare after 18 years.
I had a hospital stay here about 2 years ago and it was the best hospital I've been to by far. No contest and I was recently there again and the staff was great!! Hard to believe for me that they get anything less than 5 stars
The attending Doctor Michael Lambert has a very bad attitude towards patients. He'll have you sitting & waiting for him to speak to you & let you know what the situation is with your loved one. He lacks compassion & empathy!!
This hospital should be wiped off the map. Complete and utter disgrace. Staff lies and refused to do their jobs. Haitian Cna’s sit around talking all day while patients are in need. Social Workers are rude and incompetent.
I had a surgery here. Very professional staff. Especially thank you for nurses Dina (Tina) from after surgery room and Vika. Thank you soooo much for being patient polite and professional. Great staff makes great hospital
Horrible place to bring your loved one or come on its own for help. Horrible bed manners starting from ER and 4th floor services. Nobody does not pay attention and does not care. Do not use this hospital for any services.
This hospital does not treat their patients good, you rarely see the doctors, they dont do what they tell, I've seen and heard people crying out for help As far as I'm concerned I wouldn't recommend this hospital
I had an endoscopy done there today. The entire staff was polite, attentive and organized. Some names I remember and would like to thank are David the anesthesiologist and the nurses Irena, Marriene and Diana!
this is Victoria YEdnak! I was today in your hospital!!! I want to thank the doctors for the good work and just for the ideal attitude towards patients! I'm really satisfied with the attitude of the employees
The hospital has brought filth to the neighborhood. There's plenty of garbage strewn around the area, particularly near Ave O and Bedford Ave intersection. In the past, the neighborhood was much cleaner.
No complaint of this hospital. Great and very nice and kind nurse fast and professional. Specially thanks for ICU nurse Kimberly, Marcia, Lucy and all professional staffs taking good care of my dad.
I will have nightmares over the way Boris the doctor there treated and spoke to me . The other lady doctor was much nicer and willing to help but dr Boris clearly enjoys giving people a hard time .
Stay away if you have the option. Nurses 0 ER doctors understaffed, novices at best. They spent more time talking and laughing while patients were left unattended awaiting long overdue results .
I just called and spoke to the rudest person ever, she didn’t even let me finish my sentence and just hung up on me! Disgusting attitude for someone whose responsibility is TO TALK TO PEOPLE.
