Pros: Clean ambiance, cute restaurant. Food was quickly delivered. Cons: Food not warm, undercooked burger, lack of manager presence and options to fix my meal. I ordered the brunch burger and waffle fries. Food was not hot but room temperature when it arrived to the table. Burger was ordered medium, but came undercooked, medium rare closer to rare. I alerted the staff that my plate was was not warm and burger was undercooked. The server offered to take the plate, but I said I will continue eating thinking I’d be able to finish. I was wrong. The burger patty was undercooked more than i initially thought. I left the burger patty and continued to eat the bread and veggies of the burger, and fries on my plate. I alerted the staff again that the burger was very undercooked, and since my plate also came out cold I wanted the meal taken off from the bill. The server consulted with the manager, returned, then told me that management said since I was still picking off my plate that it cannot be taken off the bill. I stopped eating and said take the plate and take it off my bill. I would’ve preferred the manager showing up to my table to find out exactly what was wrong. I would’ve preferred to have been given more options than taking the plate from my table. I would’ve preferred that since I could not eat the main part of my dish that something else (food or discount) was offered to me. Will half recommend but don’t make a special trip to visit.

Not the most fancy area in the world but for what the surrounding area lacks in ambiance. Main kitchen makes up for in food and service. The restaurant is located in a strip mall setup up with several stores around it so it can be hard to find. Once inside there can be a line but if you get early enough there is usually enough place for a seat. The place is kind of small inside but there are a couple of tables capable or holding parties of about ten or so. The place can also be kind of loud as the tables are very close to fit as many people in the small space as possible. The place has a small town feel and is very relaxing for breakfast on a lazy Sunday or Saturday morning. The menu itself was very simple and had the essentials for brunch. Pancakes, omelettes, and Benedict were large portions of the menu but there is some thing on the menu for everyone. You can go simple or order large combo meals that will fill you up quickly. Overall the food was excellent. I ordered the eggs Benedict and it had a great consistency and the food came out very quickly. If you are looking for a nice and quiet brunch place that is off the beaten path you should definitely make the drive out to Granada hills for Main Kitchen.

Food: D+ Venue: C Service:C- We got the Country Fried Steak and the Eggs benadict they were both presented on dollar tree style plates. The eggs benadict were presented on a hamburger bun that was burnt. Overly poached eggs with a side of school lunch tater tots. The County Fried Steak had a good presentation. The eggs were overcooked when I asked for medium. The gravy was sweet the biscuit was flavorless. The potatoes were flavorless and the County Fried Steak skin wasn't conforming to the steak and was overcooked. The service was unprofessional with the waitress passing by us around 4 times and didn't ask for water even though my cup was at the side of the table in full view for her to see. We were not given a drinks menu and some in the staff was signing along to the music that was playing. Overall wouldn't recommend this place and can't believe it's a 4.5 on here the food was not worth it for the 30 dollar price tag.

I was looking for a new brunch place and this place is fantastic. Let me start with parking it is a Wednesday around 10:30am parking lot was full but we were able to find a spot. We walked in and it feel like a friend's house. Very friendly environment. We ordered our food and enjoyed our drinks. Coffee is delicious and the freshly squeezed orange was delightful. I had the ham and cheese with potatoes. The sandwich was perfect it had the egg just right in combination with the cheese, spinach, and tomato. My son order a side of bacon and orange juice. The bacon was cooked perfectly he ate 3/4 pieces and he usually only eats one. We also ordered Country Fried steak which is done with actual steak not ground beef. My husband loved it. The Lox platter was ordered by mom and she said it was better than Canters Deli. If you are from LA you know Canters is the BEST yet, she was impressed with quality of the fish and freshness. We had a lovely time and the brunch was perfect. We will be back!

It was okay, we might not come back again though. Service & attention was amazing but food wasn't good enough. The mini pancakes were flavorless and kind of sticky, they have a consistency that I cannot fully understand/explain but my boyfriend tried them and he said the same, we believe something was expired or they used too much flour maybe. The country fried steak was the same, it wasn't fresh nor crunchy, the gravy was okay, wasn't bad nor good.

DO NOT Go Here!!* HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!* The Manager/cook would Not allow Any changes to the menu. I asked for a different bread for my sandwich & was not allowed to do it (I was told no changes to type of bread unless its gluten free)& so I ordered a salad instead with no dressing & received it with dressing on it & was told that's the way it is on the menu no substitutions. It was 11am on a Tuesday, with a low to moderate amount of customers. If this is the way the Manager treats customers the owner should Fire them. I will Never come back here & will tell all my friends to stay away also. the Manager did not even have the decency to come to the table when requested, leaving the waiter to deliver her refusals

Best breakfast/lunch spot hands down! My husband and I find ourselves coming here at least once a week if not more! The food is not only delicious but it's also made from scratch! The staff is super friendly and everyone even the cooks never forget a face! The service and the food are beyond great here and I never knew I was a major coffee lover until coming here! We absolutely love it and will never stop coming here due to fear of missing out on the deliciousness served here! If you are ever hungry for deliciousness this place is for you! You will never have a bad experience and they play really good movies to watch while you eat! Did I mention how friendly the cooks are too?!y words do not do this place justice you need to experience the awesomeness yourself!

First time dining at The Main Kitchen, place was starting to get crowded and the food looked good coming out of the kitchen…. We both ordered the chicken fried steak breakfast… bad choice. Chicken fried steak was bland, no seasoning in the batter and looked and tasted like it was previously frozen then fried and tasted literately tasted like cardboard. It was smothered in white gravy, once again bland over house potatoes which were good and a biscuit which was also flakey and good…. But my main gripe here was…. Our dish wash served in a BOWL!! So cutting the steak was a feat in itself since it was a deep bowl. I will be returning but will be ordering something else hopefully served on a plate unless it’s oatmeal. Y

We went for breakfast Saturday morning. Sat outside. They have roughly 6 tables with umbrellas facing the street. The service was good. A little slow at the beginning but then it was just right. Very friendly. We got avocado toast Benedict, steak and eggs, and chilaquiles. All were pretty good. The only critique I have was that the eggs on the chilaquiles were very runny. We asked for over medium. Their potatoes were good. Everyone enjoyed the food. The chilaquiles were large enough to feed two people. I’d come back if I was in the area again.

I ordered the steak and eggs breakfast. The steak was definitely rancid. It smelled bad and tasted worse. It just smelled like old rancid steak. The servers were very polite and apologetic. I switched out the steak with sausage. This was the first time I've ever sent anything back. They did not charge us for the side of toast due to the rancid steak... Other breakfast items were ok. The servers were very nice...I have nothing bad to say about the service but the breakfast was not great... Unfortunately I wouldn't recommend this restaurant for breakfast. (Hoping I don't get food poisoning from the rancid steak)

This place used to be a good place to eat, they took pride in making food. I had no idea it's under new owners. I ordered country stake and eggs and a few other items. They told me it would be ready in 10 minutes. I was suspicious in how quick they could do such an order. When I tasted my food, I knew why it took them only 10 minutes, it's called frozen food. No taste and over priced horrible food. Never again!!!! The people serving are nice, but the establishment will not provide a cup holder, as I also order multiple drinks.

Tiramisu French toast is. A favorite of mine here. Today it's dry and bland. I don't know why their recipe and chef keeps changing. It used to be delicious. This bread tastes like a bland banana bread and it is so dry I lost my appetite. I came hungry and eager to eat and left hungry and annoyed that my time and money are wasted.

Took my daughter there to enjoy a birthday breakfast. Well thought out placement of the tables. Enough space between each that you don't feel like you're sitting on top of each other. Food was served hot and delicious. Staff very patient and attentive without hovering. When they brought my daughters avocado toast and pancakes for me I stated that I didn't order pancakes. The server IMMEDIATELY acknowledged there error and whisked the plate away to return a bit later with my French toast. A genuine mistake that was corrected without issue. A definite place to enjoy great food and strong coffee ... a magical combination

  • Vanessa T.

The food was amazing! Everyone was friendly, the reason I gave the service 4 stars is because we were told we would be called once our table was ready. After 25 min, we went back & the young lady was like oh right?! It happens, I get it, but there were multiple tables already cleared and available. My top recommendations for the food are the steak & eggs and the churro toast. The pineapple juice did not taste good . Overall, I would come back again, but maybe after 1pm.

Not the best food I've had. Long wait times. Turkey was bland and tasteless. Pancakes were basic, nothing special. High prices don't match taste of food. I do like that they use home sourced food and liked the atmosphere. Waiter was kind. Food was overall underwhelming. We ordered a breakfast burrito, which was okay. A breakfast plate with bland turkey. A breakfast sandwhich with basic flavors, nothing out of this world. A basic omelette. We also tried the tiramissu French toast to try something special- was just good. Tasted like French toast with cinnamon, didn't really get the tiramissu flavors.

They have a great variety of breakfast dishes. I've also tried their sandwiches and burgers. Everything has been delicious. Plus I love the atmosphere. The staff seems to always have a smile on their face and really enjoy working there.

I had a really good breakfast today. I had the chilaquiles with eggs over-easy. It was very tasty and delicious. It comes with a salsa that has a nice kick. Yet is tasty and not too spicy. The coffee mugs are huge by the way. Our waiter was really attentive and kept refilling our coffee. It is a nice chill vibe to hang out and have a nice breakfast. I strongly recommend it.

I ordered the Chicken and Pancakes and my girlfriend got their El Dorado burrito and both were not a pleasure to eat at all. I don't know how this place has a high rating, but the burrito had WHOLE THICK TOMATO slices like you would see on burgers like bruh and potato wedges that were huge and somehow was void of any flavor. The chicken and pancakes tasted like something from school lunches. The Chicken and Pancakes looked nothing like the images and were just chicken tenders. The biscuits and gravy also tasted like cigarettes.

  • Jeni Partee

Kept driving by, seeing this place and FINALLY stopped in to give it a try. So glad I did. Food was fantastic. Pancakes were light and fluffy, fruit on top was really fresh. Nancy, our server, was exceptional. Would go back again just for her. Super quaint and clean on the inside, including bathrooms. Outside dining is available. Small parking lot is next to it and there is street parking. Gave it 4 stars because it is a little pricey. Don't get me wrong, it is worth it!! I just can't frequent here as often as I would like to.

A cozy breakfast spot in Granada Hills, Main Kitchen Cafe never fails. The food is delicious, prepared quickly and served by a super chill staff. The food always tastes fresh and it's easy to tell the ingredients are of a high quality. The seating area is a bit crowded so when it's packed it can be a bit loud but the overall vibe is super inviting and a chill way to spend breakfast time.

We just moved into the area a month ago, and we’ve already eaten there a couple of times. We absolutely love this place. I avoid dairy and gluten and for breakfast I love the avocado toast with gluten free bread. They add lemon to the avocado, and top it with what I think are heirloom tomatoes. So ridiculously good! My family eats whatever and they each ordered something they raved about. And the women who was our waitress was so friendly, funny, and helpful. This is our new go to place to breakfast and lunch.

Tomato bisque was out of this world Albeit salty for hbp folks.... Wife got the black beans and potato burrito whatever it's called. Your wife said it was pretty bland as burritos go. I tasted it and agreed. The natural flavors of the food is great but nothing was added to it to give it real flavor. The scrambled eggs was cooked with butter. Delightful and delicious. My eggs benedict with bacon and chorizo was pretty good. the brioche it was on top of was delightful

The food was okay. It looks more impressive from the posted online photos. I got the chilaquiles with chorizo and it was spicy in a bad way. Such a cute little place. I loved it here. Nothing super fancy, but what the kitchen brings you is surprising. We enjoyed the food but they do not refill ice tea. And the lemonade was $5.00. The food is good but not worth the cost. It’s such a bad policy to charge customers $6.00 for a drink that cost .06 cents to make. We enjoy supporting small local businesses but we won’t be back.

A cozy restaurant in Granada Hills with charming mix and matched, fun table settings. I had the French Toast. Great flavor. Portion sizes are large. Outside individual table seating can accommodate four.

I happened to search this place and it was a big surprise how amazing the food and the customer service of this restaurant. Food didn't take long and the wait wasn't bad. Great vibe, a favorite for sure.

Good: Friendly staff, no complaints there the chef was a rockstar making all the breakfast with the sue chef. Bad: Portion was decent, but for the price it was, $50 with tax plus tip.

Fun, yet peaceful atmosphere, great service, and excellent food! The Hemingway Benedict is amazing, and the side of fruit turned out to be lovely fresh berries. Wonderful all around!

Searched randomly for a breakfast place. The food was delicious. Cooked perfectly. Like everyone states food is good just a bit pricey. But enjoyed the food. Would go back again

The food was good except I didn’t like that they used brioche buns as the base for the eggs Benedict. The eggs were perfectly poached. And the grapefruit juice was delicious.

Had the Hemingway Eggs Benedict and they were great. The live music outside made for a great ambiance. Had good seating. Really enjoyed breakfast with the family.

Food was fantastic, our server Allison was amazing, so friendly. The food came out fast, had not been back since the pandemic and they didn't miss a beat! Bravo

Wish they had a better morning beverage selection! Food was decent, but seemed expensive for the amount.

Have been coming here for a few years now. Country fried steak is fantastic. The Chefs are very talented. Get there early, there can be a long wait time.

Great customer service, and the food is worth the price, since it's cooked to perfection. I would recommend anyone to come check this place out.

Large portions, great flavors. Huevos Rancheros was a bit too soupy but tasted great. My friend had the tiramisu French toast and loved it. More
