I certainly would have really liked this experience to have been fantastic- as I read all previous reviews, however, my expectations were let down, after ordering the ‘Beef Brisket Toastie’- all day menu @ $18.50. Upon receiving my meal, I couldn’t wait to get my chops around the combination of ‘Slaw ( Colslaw?), Pickles, Swiss Cheese & Chipolte aoli on toasted sourdough, with the tender Beef Brisket’. Unfortunately, as the photos show, I really couldn’t see any ‘Slaw’ at all & barely only (1) baby thin slice of pickle. Even the Swiss cheese & Beef Brisket quantities were ‘way too light’. So disappointed in the quality, as I expected this combination to melt in my mouth with all the flavours above. On top of that, my Almond Chai was served up like it was 85% water based. The staff were very good about replacing the Almond Chai, the second replacement was much better & as it should have been, with more Almond Milk & less water. Unfortunately, my experience over the weekend, felt like everything I ordered was ‘cutting costs’. For this price $18.50 for the toasted sandwich, I’m just so disappointed. Staff were very friendly & helpful though, but after dealing with the ‘Watery Chai Issue’, I just felt I couldn’t then again complain about my ‘Toasted Sandwich’. Really off putting.

A few friends caught up at Main Street Cafe for lunch. We have all been there before and have always enjoyed our meals. Today I had the haloumi and mushroom on sour dough and shared my salad with one of the girls who had the same dish and she chose the chips to share. The haloumi and mushroom was superb and great idea sharing our sides as the salad is very nice and the chips are always great. My other friend had the corn fritters and she said they were delicious. Our meals included a glass of wine so everything was just perfect and we will all be back again soon.

This place clearly has a strong following, as we discovered when we visited on a bustling Monday lunchtime. If you're planning to dine here, it might be wise to reserve a table in advance, given how quickly they fill up. The food was decent, falling somewhere between "good" and "great." It didn't quite reach the level of making us yearn for a return visit. We ordered the scrambled eggs, but the heavy-handed drizzle of sriracha sauce felt unnecessary. A potential improvement could be to replace it with chili for a more balanced spice kick. On the bright side, the fish tacos were a highlight, but they could benefit from a bit more zest. The coffee, while enjoyable, didn't leave a lasting impression that would compel us to return specifically for it. The overall atmosphere and service were somewhat lacking but not horrible either, a little short of our expectations.

One of my nieces is in a wheelchair. The entrance is flat through the door allowing the wheelchair to be easily wheeled through. The space was open and able to get around with ease.

Great little Mexican place with such warm and polite staff. Very attentive host who went over and above to ensure my daughter enjoyed her meal. Yummy Paella and didn't have to wait too long for it. Most drinks reasonable price. Some wines up there in price, however was a really nice Sav Blanc for $47. Got quite busy later into the evening around 7.00pm. Ordered takeaway Paella for my husband upon leaving who enjoyed it too! Only reason I gave 4 star was I found it hard to hear at times and there isn't much room between chairs & tables. Twice my chair was knocked into by other guests due to little space. Lights went out and then quickly a dessert appeared for a patrons birthday. Everyone joined in to sing which was fun. Very family orientated and it felt like visiting someones home. Will visit again for sure!

5 stars!! Main street is ALWAYS a vibe. Whether you're planning to grab a coffee to go or dine-in you can expect to receive quick friendly service at an affordable price. It's the little things for me - the way the wait staff offer suggestions without needing to ask, the way the staff speak to you like a friend rather than a hiderance. Food and drink is reasonably priced, presented well and always quickly delivered (within 5-10mins of ordering) It gets pretty busy here, which would typically involve a lot of noise. However you can still hear the music playing and have a conversation without needing to shout.

Only recommendation is that staff could be more tentative when taking the initial drinks order when we first sat down (we weren’t asked and then we had to ask a staff member to take our drinks & food order after we had been waiting a while) and we weren’t asked again if we wanted another drink when were were still eating but with no drinks ~ we would’ve happily stayed for another chai/tea/coffee at the end, but we weren’t asked if we would like anything more… missed opportunity to make more $

I usually don’t write reviews but this cafe I must. 100% satisfied with everything! From entering the entrance till we left the cafe. Fantastic staff members, superb customer service and of coarse food and coffee was amazing. Booked for four mums and four toddlers today and the table was all nice and ready with high chairs. It was nice and spacy enough for all prams to fit! Loved all the food but espcially the Orecchietta Pasta was just so delicious! Staff who served our table was so friendly, kind and considerate with our kids. Thank you so much for the great service and food. Definitely visiting again!

It's been a few years since my last visit and I have to say it's the best it's ever been. Fantastic service, they were so friendly and attentive. The coffee was delicious and the food was perfect. I did have to ask for a knife that wasn't blunt ( seems to be a thing across all the cafes at the moment, really thick toasted sourdough and a knife that can't cut ) but they got me a sharp one . Music was great and the colour scheme matched my boots. All in all loved it and now want to move to Mordialloc.

Normally pretty good but boy did they drop the ball! I was one of 2 people in the cafe to order breakfast.... 30 mins later 3 new people are enjoying there breakfast and I’m still waiting! The Turmeric latte was barely warm and lacking flavour. When I inquired about my breakfast all I got was lame excuses from the rude wait lady. The reason my breakfast was not ready was the chef had been on 4 weeks holiday and only got back today ‍♂️.... perhaps he should of stayed on holidays because seriously my 9 year can poach better eggs ‍♂️ So disappointed ☹️

Great place to eat, drink and hang with either family or friends. Staff are always welcoming, friendly and fast with their service. Absolutely will recommend

Lively cafe. Very helpful staff and open on Boxing Day which we loved. We were able to book a table which we appreciated. They had a sign for meal specials during week for kids which we will return for another time. The iced teas were amazing and we would highly recommend them. We returned today and had delicious fish tacos. The coffee was great and the service was fantastic. The staff front of house were so friendly and welcoming and the staff helped us and brought the food and coffee quickly.

I just tried an omelette for breakfast and it was very yummy The omelet has many things inside, like tomatoes, seasonings and so on. It was fabulous, every bit you take, transcend your mind to heaven. The sweetness of the tomatoes explodes with each bite, and combined with the seasoning, its like you are flowing in the sky. Highly recommend visiting this café, definitely will return

So disappointed. Dropped by to get the Winter Salad takeaway - description states roast vegetables and feta - after I left and opened it discovered 99% rocket with a few specks of corn and and carrots. Although the food was nice, the service we receive by one waitress in particular was disappointing to say the least. Went here on a public holiday, one of the few places open. The meal I had was a little plain, the bread was a little over toasted and the food came out a little bit cold. The food also took a little while to come out as it was quite busy. From what my friends told me, they have changed their menu. I also had the mango passion drink which was excellent.

Ordered a double shot coffee with extra chocolate and always happy to pay for extras. Should have gone to Maccas. The worst coffee I've had in ages. Weak and flavourless. Have had coffees here previously as dine in and they were decent. But one bad coffee is one bad coffee too many.

I haven’t visited here for a while. The new interior is great - loving the floor tiles & booths! Perfect spot for a late brunch (which was huge)! Our waitress Eliza was lovely and super attentive. Also, had a cheeky cocktail, Rosemary Gin Sour delightful!

The food here is always good. Bacon Benny is my favourite and the homemade hollandaise is perfect. Their coffee is great, one of the best I had here in Melbourne. Good place for brekky and lunch.

The Doffle itself was excellent, though I think a bit more fruit and less ganache would work better for a breakfast dish. My partner rated his experience 3/5. I'm keen to try more from the menu.

The food and ambience inside were great on a cold, windy Melbourne day. The three of us enjoyed our meals and beverages and did not feel rushed to finish and leave. Will definitely return.

Slow take away service. Be careful if you’re in a hurry because others will skip in front of you using the skip the queue system. Rude young man serving, but the coffee was good.
