Very poor understanding of the concept of customer service. Not once have the staff LISTENED to my request so they continue to sell me something that they have ensured is what I wanted. I take the product home only to discover that it's not what I wanted. I go back and again nobody wants to listen to why I want to exchanged. The staff make me wait for a product that they think I want not what I've asked for. So when I go back nobody hears the issues that have arisen as a result of their error and it has taken 5 staff members and nearly 3 months to finally tell me that what I want is not supplied in their store. By this stage I have a credit note for something that doesn't exist. I couldn't get a refund due to their policy but even more hysterical is the suggestion that I made the error and not them. No wonder retailers want staff with Certificate standards of education. There's room for improvement here! I certainly won't be going back there again. I am respectful of polite conversation but not to the point where you hold up a customer nor does the staff member even have the insight to recognise that their conversation is not appropriate. As a result the staff member couldn't perform their duties because they were very distracted with telling customers about their personal lives. When I went in the second time to ask about the potential arrival of a shipment, two staff members could get up of the chair to check my details, they only responded by suggesting that the shipment hasn't arrived. If they bothered to get up and check my request or even engaged in a conversation about my request they might have discovered that they don't actually sell what I was waiting for. Third time, I go in and ask how much longer before the shipment arrives for this particular product. Staff responds with: don't know but where's your receipt. Well I don't have a receipt anymore it was exchanged for a credit note. It was suggested I purchase something else in the store. No thank you I just want what I've waited nearly 3 months for given I've been so patient. Instead of suggesting they would do some background work on my request the staff member proceeds to be aggressive when I stated I don't want to buy anything else and again was not given the opportunity to tell her why and what I wanted. Instead she accused me of being aggressive. It's very tiring by this stage of course when you are greeted with defensive staff who don't even know why they're agitated. Had they listened we could have resolved this from the day 1 when I walked into the store. Very tiresome experience for something so small. Management should be collating this sort of feedback so that they can make improvements in their store and customer service. If I presented in this way in my workplace I would never be able to work in the industry again. Surely there's room for quality measures by Manchester Collection which can start with basic customer service skills: start by listening to what the customer is requesting!

I went in today, Boxing Day. The sales girl was rude and condescending. I asked for the width of the doona cover and was answered with "well do you want Queen or King?". "What size doona do you have?". When I explained that I don't have a doona, I use a bedspread, she sniggered and said "well you can't use it as a bedspread...it would be too flat!" Did I say I was going to use it as a bedspread....no!!!..I asked the prices, and discovered that they were dearer than last week. I was told last week's prices were lower because the QS had been displayed on a bed. I asked could she sell it for last week's price...."no, I don't want to get into trouble," she replied. Boxing Day sales Hahaha. Don't think so!
