"Beautiful, peaceful walk anytime of the day"
Bobbin head national park is a very tranquil park in the midst of Sydney. There are quite a few interesting walks - on this occasion we took the Mangrove boardwalk. Additionally there are lots of tables and chairs and barbeques plus ample grasses areas for picnics. I went on a weekday so the park was basically empty. I have also been a few times on the weekend. While there are lots if people there on weekends, it is still possible to get a nice quiet space. The mangrove boardwalk takes us through the mangroves where you can see lots of fish and crabs depending upon the tide. Finally, in the weekday tranquility it was wonderful to be able to hear the gentle breeze through the trees and the various birds singing to each other.
Gibberagong Track Mangrove Boardwalk Location - Mount Colah NSW 2079 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Super fun location $12 car entry into the national park but the entry ticket pays your parking. The mangrove boardwalk is an easy and accessible walk until the end when it reaches a bush track up rock stairs and connection to longer walking tracks. Fun track with some signage, and crabs down below the boardwalk. Would recommend, kid friendly (the railing does end towards the back when the height of the boardwalk gets lower. Plenty of people fishing near the start of the walk (near the bridge). Plenty of picnic tables and BBQs before entering the wall, toilets back near the playground.
Beautiful boardwalk that leads to a walk through a rock cutting. Cable stay truss bridge begins the walk. The path splits ways about 1km from where the boardwalk ends - either toward the rainforest for 500 m, or toward Wahroonga. The rainforest walk leg is well worth the detour to see our amazing range of native and indigenous flora, and some fauna - particularly birds.
This is a fantastic place to visit it’s so peaceful hear. The walk through the mangroves to the bridge is easy and has some really nice rock formations. Further along the trail you can get elevated views of the river and it’s clear waters . You can reach the bridge and a little further past by wheel chair if needed as the walk is level wide .
Beautiful, peaceful walk anytime of the day. It's a great park for families and for anyone just wanting a bit of nature without going far. The gorgeous mangroves are teeming with crabs in summer. In winter, it's a lovely calm place to soak in the sunset. It can get crowded on weekends but there's plenty of parking. There's also an entry fee.
Great little walk just off the park at Bobbin Head. Walking through the mangrove you can see a variety of marine life. At low time there are hundreds of baby crabs of different colours. There is a park nearby and a kids playground. This is a beautiful part of kur-Ring-gai national park and worth exploring.
First visit but will be back for a longer walk in winter. First part of the walk is through mangroves on a sturdy metal boardwalk. Then comes a moderate climb through steps carved into rocks and a steady walk through the bush with easy steps. Very quiet and peaceful area with spectacular views.
Very well maintained Broadwalk, highly recommended. Kids loved watching tiny mud crabs running around, hunting for food. The track at the end of the Broadwalk is a good extension of the excursion. Lots of places to rest and have a picnic.
A nice, flat, leisurely boardwalk along the river through the mangroves. Saw lots of little crabs and interesting root patterns etc, as well as the beautiful surrounding bushland and river.
Lived on the northern beaches and first time on boardwalk. It's like another world and totally worth the 20 min walk along... Seeing so much wildlife in the water, air, mud and bush.
It was a beautiful bush-walking although it took less than about 15-30 mins from the Entrance of the Mangrove Boardwalk to the Rainforest track Quiet, relaxed, and recharged!
Beautiful short walk through the mangroves from Bobbin Head. You can continue on to the rainforest and there are some trails here. When I went some of them were closed off.
Serene! One of our favourites. Very easy track. Beautiful views.Lots of parking close to the boardwalk. They have recently renovated the restrooms near the parking lot.
Absolutely beautiful spot. Nice and quiet during the week. Walk along the boardwalk and into the rainforest!
Not much to look at.make sure you climb the stairs at the end to get a good view of the water
Nice walk, quite short, well maintained.
