Honestly deserves no stars. I didn’t even get to use my booking due to covid lockdown but that’s not even why they get a bad review. Carolyn McInness the lady the you email about to hire the hall. She was lovely and fast replying when I was booking and very eager to get my deposit to be paid fast but then it all went down south when I emailed twice 26th July and 23rd of September about getting a refund of my deposit due to the lockdowns. First email I never got a reply to and was told they never got it. Second email I got a reply to be told they don’t do refunds but when booking I asked if everything was refundable if a lockdown was to occur and her response was yes. Obviously not happy because I was then lied to, I demanding I have my refund as I was told everything was refundable. Again days went by and no reply back, so I emailed again asking if the refund had been done. Got a very rude reply back about her being a volunteer and that it needed to be spoken about at a committee meeting to then 2 sentences later she was saying it would get refunded on banking day and to stop wasting her time as she was a busy person. I then replied asking when banking day was so I could keep an eye out for my refund for around then and also made it clear how disgusted I was in her telling me to stop wasting her time! She then felt the need to reply back still not telling me when banking day is and telling me she never said I wasn’t getting a refund and that she saw nothing disgusting about her email before. This has turned me off ever hiring this hall and all my friends and family will be staying clear of it too. I have taken this to social media platforms as this is a disgusting behaviour from someone who is meant to be the face of the council, volunteer or not. She is not clear in what she says, says one thing and then goes back on it, then tries to tell you it was never sent but it’s clearly all in email. Absolutely appalling experience
