I inherited my Mom's engagement ring, and decided to have it reset. We looked at 6 different jewelers, and I was about to settle before we made a last ditch effort and tried Market Street Diamonds. One of the best decisions I have ever made! I had a dream ring in mind, but had yet to see anything like it (anywhere.) I fell for the 3rd ring I tried on at MSD, and the staff made it clear we could make any customizations that we wanted! Service- Eva was a dream to work with and sent regular email updates. She went above & beyond in helping me try on half the store so I had NO regrets about the design. This was the first store that treated my mom's ring the way I did. At EVERY other store they would say "whats what stone, about a carat?" 2, actually. "Its a cloudy stone" RUDE. MSD told me how beautiful it was, complimented me on it and noted that the stone just needed a quick cleaning to be back in sparkling shape. They understood my emotional attachment to the ring and were extremely respectful of that. Quality - Dino Lonzano is the owner & designer at MSD. he has his own line sold in the store (among others.)This was the only store I was able to meet with the designer, get his expert opinion, and shake the hand of the person creating something I will pass onto my children. Dino listened to the design I dreamed up & it came out BETTER than my dream! Its stunning, I get compliments on it from everyone. Even cab drivers! Plus, it was specially created for me. How awesome is that?! Variety - I'm not going to lie, when we saw the gorgeous interior of the store with the amazing products and realized it was on M Street in Georgetown, we didn't think we would be able to afford it. But, MSD has rings at every price point. Out of the 6 jewelers I looked at in DC, they were the most cost-effective. They also have an amazing variety with several cases of rings. No worries about seeing a handful of rings that all basically look the same. Dream ring, dream service, at an affordable price? HEAVEN. I will absolutely be a lifelong customer. I can't stop looking at my gorgeous Dino Lonzano custom engagement ring, and when I do I think of only how positive the experience was!

I had a very specific, nontraditional design in mind for my engagement ring, that I knew would have to be custom made. To ensure I got a ring I loved, my fiancé and I opted to go through the engagement ring shopping process together. Neither one of us had any experience with Jewelers, engagement rings, diamonds, or custom jewelry, but lucky for us, a friend of ours suggested we go see Dino at MSD. BEST RECOMMENDATION EVER! The experience was so overwhelmingly positive and easy. During our first appointment with Dino, I explained the design I wanted, which was based on a custom ring my mom had designed by a jeweler years ago with a few minor tweaks. Dino took his time to listen to what I wanted, look at my mom’s ring, ask us a few questions, and gave us some valuable insight on a few things. He did all of this without pressure or judgment. He also asked my fiancé about his budget, because he wanted to make sure the ring he designed stayed in budget, which it did. Two weeks later we went in to see the wax mold, 3D CAD image, and the diamond….. we ended up pulling the trigger right there on the spot. I’m not one to rush into large purchases without some due diligence - so when we first started the ring shopping process, we had planned on shopping around before making a decision but Dino was our first stop and after seeing the CAD image of the ring he designed for us (exceeded all my expectations - it was love at first sight - which, for me, is rare - just ask my fiancé ). Just like that, I had no interest in shopping around. Over the course of the next three weeks, practicing patience was very difficult for me, I had gotten a glimpse of my engagement ring, and I was SO READY to have it on my finger. Before I knew it, the wait was over, and it was so worth the wait. There are no words to express just how amazing our experience was. From start to finish, Dino and his team are exceptional. There is no question, they know what they are doing, they do it well, and they clearly care about their work and their customers. Thank you, Dino and MSD!

I had no idea what I was doing. I had never spent any time in a jewelry store and I had no expectations on what jewelry shopping entailed beyond what I had experienced walking into a few stores that day. Then I came across Market Street Diamonds. This place set a bar for service I have not experienced anywhere else. Daria immediately greeted me when I walked into this Georgetown row house-turned-storefront. Daria spent over an hour showing my girlfriend different pieces of jewelry while asking questions about her taste, style, interests, and hobbies to guide her around the store. My girlfriend (now fiancé), who had had not shown too much interest all day at the other locations, was trying on half the store. Even I had fun. I returned to the store alone two days later and from there, Daria probably sank 6 hours with me working on the design and finding the right center stone over the course of a month. Of note, the stone I wanted was a very rare Alexandrite that Daria had to track down by making phone calls and emails to specialty jewelers when she wasn’t working with other customers. Just as impressive as Daria’s service and attention to detail, Market Street Diamonds somehow managed to turn my chicken scratch drawings into a beautiful bezel design with their extremely talented CAD team. And yes, they are the real deal, working in-house with an on-site 3D printer. And it did not end there. After she said yes (on a mountain in Patagonia) Dino, free of charge, altered the size and shape of the ring to fit her hand perfectly. Bottom line is, this place has a 5 star rating on Yelp for a reason. The MSD team is warm, fun, and happy to help bring whatever you have in your head to reality. I will be a returning customer for as long as I remain near DC.

Highly recommend going to MSD and asking for Rayna! She was super welcoming and helpful while I was looking for an engagement ring. What stood out was that when I walked into the door Rayna introduced herself and then asked me questions about myself and my girlfriend. She really spent the time getting to know my girlfriend and I and never brought up money or budget. She got to know me and I got to know her and this was so nice. She asked me what kind of design I had in mind and always asked me for my opinion and thoughts before sharing hers. She really wanted to create a ring that my girlfriend like and wanted and that I also liked. She even pointed me to do research during our first encounter/meeting to really put in the time to look at the perfect ring that I wanted. She never rushed me and even told me to go look at other jewelers which was so surprising. So I did the research and even went to other jewelers. However I had such a different experience with the other jewelers. They never really asked about me and my girlfriend, and more so on what kind of ring I wanted and my budget. It really felt homey with MSD. I went back to MSD after researching and knew they were the perfect place to do the engagement ring for me. Through the next 3-4 meetings: I showed them the design I wanted, I picked out the center diamond I liked, they created CAD design and 3D print of the ring (so cool), and then saw the finished product! The ring was stunning and my fiance absolutely loves the ring. It was so easy and nice to work with MSD and Rayna and HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM! Thank you so much for everything Rayna and the MSD team!

I have nothing but overwhelmingly positive things to say about Dino and the Market Street Diamonds team. They are warm, friendly, professional, and truly deliver an amazing customer experience. My (now) husband and I had a custom engagement ring designed using stones from both of our families, and it turned out more amazing than I could have hoped and then came back to MSD for our wedding bands. We told Dino which pieces we want to integrate, provided some inspiration images for pieces we liked and then I said "I really love peonies and English garden roses." The ring he came up with is stunning. I could yell positive things about this design for years. MSD was fully transparent about price and didn't charge a design fee. We ended up with a piece that cost less than a standard "box" store with 1000x more meaning. Highly recommend. 15/10. Only thing I will say is that beautiful art takes time. This process took place over several months. I'm sure they would be willing to work with a more condensed timeline, but why rush perfection? For our bands, we had a custom ring designed to fit my engagement ring and my husband chose one of Dino's speciality men's bands that allowed for engraving on the bevel. They're stunning. Dino perfectly matched an emerald in my wedding band to the emeralds in my ring and engraved the platinum with a vintage scroll design...little did he know that my dress and veil both featured scroll lace. Perfection. Will be using them as our jeweler forever.

My husband (then boyfriend) and I went to Market Street Diamonds to look for an engagement ring back in April 2015. We had read some raving reviews and thought we would give it a shot - but didn't really have any expectations for our trip. We could not have had a better experience. I thought I knew what I wanted, but was strangely nervous when we started looking at rings. The folks there were fantastic at putting me at ease. They took me through the entire store and had me pick out rings that I liked. If I still liked it after trying it on, it made the "top 5." Throughout the entire experience, the woman we worked with picked out options that were a bit out of my comfort zone so I could try those on as well - which really helped me to build my confidence that what I thought I wanted was actually what I wanted. At the end of the experience, the woman we worked with had me narrow the top five down to the top one, but also took notes on what I had liked about the others. She and my husband then worked out the details over email and Market Street made the exact ring I wanted that incorporated all the elements that I had loved about rings I had seen. We just got married and I could not be happier with my ring. I constantly get complimented by random strangers on it. I am sooo glad we went with Market Street Diamonds!

Sized my Harry Winston engagement ring in a way that messed up the band (it is clearly not flush to the eye or touch) AND ruined a 4th generation Swiss pocket watch after reassuring me multiple times they could monogram the same way by hand. When I picked up the watch it was a different size and font. So they said they could fix it and instead of welding it they used a laser WITHOUT EVEN OPENING THE WATCH which damaged parts inside of the watch with the laser. So now, this 100 year old watch that they assured me they would take care of has been damaged where they poorly monogrammed and imperfectly lasered over AND damaged the actual mechanics of the watch by lasering through the back without even opening it. What concerns me most is the repeated reassurance that they could do everything I asked as asked and then failure to do so but then(!) almost criminal treatment of a treasured heirloom without complete disregard. Just say you can’t do it and let me maintain the integrity of my jewelry. I’ve finally gotten to another jeweler in NYC who is determining the amount of damage I have to pay to fix from Market Street Diamond’s mistakes. 2 strikes and I’m done with them forever. Don’t believe them if they say they can do it, they clearly don’t mind overpromising and under delivering.

Five stars all the way. My upgraded engagement ring (from another jeweler, not MSD) broke. Strange right? My center stone chipped and insurance would not cover it because they said the prior jeweler made the ring improperly and allowed the side stone to touch the center. I was really worried and didn’t know what to do. I went into MSD and talked to Daria. She and Dino immediately knew what to do. They clearly explained my opinions and suggested the most reasonable solution. We sent my center stone for either repolishing or recutting. We ended up having it recut to preserve its shape. I lost very little weight from the diamond. Daria helped me look at representative rings we could use to remake my setting. She presented a wax model for me to try to ensure I would be happy with the end product. In all, it was a very positive experience out of a non-ideal situation. My ring is more beautiful than before. I also had them resize a platinum sapphire ring that was mis-sized by another jeweler. Pricing was very fair for a tremendously high quality job. They kept me informed every step of the way with reliable estimates of when my ring would be done. They are true professionals you can trust. Don’t hesitate to walk through their doors for all your fine jewelry needs. I am glad I did.

My fiancé and I could not be more pleased to have designed and gotten our ring at MSD. They set the bar (real high) for how a customer should be treated to guarantee return business. During our first visit, we met with Eva, who would accompany us through the design process and many questions. I brought her examples of what I like from Pinterest and Etsy and she educated us on the pros and cons of different stones, metals, designs, etc. She was mindful of our preferences, non-judgemental, and informative about: 1. diamond rating/classifications 2. sticking to a budget and communicating what kind of details on the ring would significantly add to cost (came out under!) 3. us designing the ring together but the proposal being a surprise 4. financing options 5. insurance options 6. timeline Before you stop reading: we SAVED money custom designing this ring. I went online to Kay Jewelers and Jared and was surprised to see that similar ready-to-ship rings were going for 2-4 times what we had paid for my dream ring. The design process was mostly over email, with some in-store visits, but I am sure they would customize it to your desired interactions. They make sure to give you all paperwork necessary to insure your piece and recommend a company with whom it is really easy to do so.

This is a very easy 5 stars, would give 6 if I could! I recently worked with Dino and his incredible team (shout out to Rayna) to design a custom engagement ring for my girlfriend of 6 years. I had a very specific design in mind that would feature a particular colored Montana sapphire and a delicate setting/band. Dino was quickly/clearly able to envision exactly what I wanted and the end product was absolutely perfect and exceeded all of my and my now fiance's expectations. Given that this was a fully custom piece, the process involved a lot of communication and personal attention. Dino and his team were incredibly responsive and attentive in answering any questions that I had throughout the entire design/production process. I would recommend MSD to anyone looking to design a ring or purchase an already-made piece. When you walk into the shop and look at the jewelry on display the master craftsmanship is apparent and I couldn't speak more highly to the level of customer service.

I am sorry that this review is long overdue. I worked with Dino and his team in 2017 to have a custom engagement ring created. I was living on a remote island at the time but I still wanted to work with them based on their stellar reputation and excellent customer service. We did all of the design work remotely and I could not have been more pleased with the final product. I picked the ring up on a trip back to DC and it was perfect. My wife loves it so much that we decided to have our wedding bands created by Dino's team as well. I should also mention that I had some loose diamonds that I was able to "trade in" with Dino at a fair market value and applied the credit to my balance for the rings. Do yourself a favor and don't buy a ring until you've paid a visit to Market Street Diamonds.

This review is long overdue. My fiancee and I stopped in a few months ago on a whim as we walked by on a Saturday afternoon to look at wedding bands. Although we had no appointment and they were terribly busy (and we know wedding bands are not where a store like this makes their money), they were extremely accommodating. The saleswoman took her time with us, walked us through their men's and women's selections, discussed custom options, and really treated us as if we were the only people in the store. We have since visited a handful of other jewelers of equal quality in the area (being sure to go mid-day on weekdays, now that we know better) and only one other provided comparable service. This is the kind of store that makes you want to buy from them. Stop in, you won't regret it.

I had a wonderful experience working with Eva at Market Street Diamonds in August 2023 ahead of my proposal to my girlfriend at the time. When I first came in, I was at a complete loss at how to go about the process. My grandmother had given me her own engagement ring's diamond to clean and reset into a new piece. Eva was extremely patient and helpful in working with me to go over the different options at hand, including the setting, band type, and accessory diamonds. Absolutely tremendous experience from start to finish. MSD was able to re-work my wife's heirloom ring into a beautiful new design that incorporated every aspect of the old ring. The customer service is excellent and the music playing is always subtlety great....not enough people playing Motown these days. They have a wide variety of rings and designs that seemingly cater to everyone and were spot-on with their delivery time of the engagement ring, which was on a tight turnaround. If you are like me and gchatting friends to find a great spot in DC to buy an engagement ring save yourself the time and go to MSD.

Dino and the whole MSD Team were an absolute dream to work with. When we came in to discuss both of our engagement rings, Dino was thoughtful in helping us to take our time to think about what we really wanted. I brought in a pair of heirloom hoop earrings (85-90 years old) that were handmade by my great grandfather because the clasps for one of them stopped working. I wear them nearly everyday so I was really worried about finding someone to fix them properly. They fixed them within a few minutes and didn't even charge me for the service! Just looking around the store while I was waiting showed some of the most beautiful jewelry pieces I've seen in a while so I highly recommend checking them out.

I purchased an engagement ring here and was thoroughly impressed with the entire experience. The team at MSD helps you design a custom setting, complete with a CAD model that shows you exactly what the ring will look like before it's made. I didn't feel like a customer so much as a collaborator, and the result is a ring that is unique and personal, not just the biggest shiniest thing that was within my budget. My fiance gets compliments on it almost every day!

The only place to go! For somebody who knows nothing about jewelry, they made the ring buying experience a breeze. Shauna is incredibly knowledgeable and worked with us to create the perfect engagement ring, and they do incredible work. When we discovered my wife has an allergy to gold/nickel, they were happy to re-make the ring in a different metal! I can't thank them enough for everything they did - doesn't get any better than Market Street Diamonds.

Took my wife's Tag watch here to be have some links removed. They assured me they could do any type work on a watch, but they scratched up the band pretty bad and the did not get the pin placement perfect. The owner, Dino, was very apologetic and waived the $12 charge, but I was pretty disappointed. They are primarily a jewelry shop and it is my fault for taking a watch there, but they should not claim they can do work they just are not capable of.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience working with Dino and the team at Market Street Diamonds. They were super helpful, clear about timelines, and accommodating of my desire to incorporate the stone from my grandmother's engagement ring into a new design. Really nice store with lots of varieties of earrings bracelets and necklaces in the store prices are pretty high but they have a catalog which you can choose specific chains or earrings and then add or customize where you want to add the diamonds and which material it would be off of so you can do silver instead of gold and it would be half the price and could do small diamonds instead of a big one.nice sales people and good prices

I had the best time designing a custom, sentimental piece with Rayna’s help. She was there for every step, giving me design ideas, helping me decide what I liked. She was also honest about what may or may not work together and super knowledgeable. most importantly though, she made it FUN and helped me create a piece that I absolutely love. They resized and beautifully restored my 1920's era engagement ring and wedding band. They also created a custom necklace for me. It is so delicate, gorgeous and exactly what I hoped for. Wow. Wow. Wow. This place is amazing with unique designers and reasonable prices for high quality jewelry. Went shopping there with a friend for a gift and my husband bought my engagement ring there. They have one of a kind pieces that you will not get ANY where in the world.

Got my wife's band here and was very satisfied. Engraved my father's wedding band that I wear now, as well. Very pleased with their work and Dino was a pleasant person to work with on the ring design and fabrication - not at all pushy. Highly recommend his work as well.
