D'Andre was the funeral director that has helped us with the arrangements for my mom's last farewell and celebration of life. We brought in our own CD with a friend singing Christian music and my laptop with a Powerpoint presentation of my mom’s life. Tyler made sure that when the CD was finished, it was replayed with no gaps in music. This made our experience very special. He is a very welcoming, kind and compassionate person, who cares about the grieving family as if it were his own family. My mom’s funeral was pre-arranged and the coffin she had picked out wasn’t available. Tyler was able to get an upgrade at no extra cost to us. Everything went smoothly. He contacted me afterwards to say he is there if we need him for anything. We really appreciated that. John Guillespie is also kind and very professional and was the person, who pre-arranged my mom’s funeral. There were no surprises or unexpected costs. At the same time I had decided that I would also prearrange my own funeral. I would definitely recommend Markey Dermody.

They're very professional, helpful & don't pressure you into anything you don't want. My family & I have used their services on numerous occasions,(my step-father, step-daughter, brother uncle cousin & recently my mother) & they've never once pressured us. Even when I/we thought we'd a silly question, they were understanding & helpful. With my mom's service, it was the first time that I've seen the slide show where you could leave comments on it and the website was yours (hers), the slide show of pics., even being able to have necklace made up w/ her fingerprint on it, I'd forgotten to have one done up for my great-niece & was able to go & order 1 for her 2 weeks after. D'Andre was exceptional and excellent. He made us feel comfortable and was very supportive throughout the entire funeral arrangements. When my significant other passed away suddenly this June, I had never been involved in any way with planning a funeral before, so I was completely lost as to what needed to happen, the whens and hows. It was very overwhelming when coupled with the loss of someone so dear to me. Jenny was the person who looked after us. She and the rest of her staff exceeded all my expectations by a landslide. They walked me through step by step, helped me take care of paperwork, government forms and put in so many extra nice touches that made the memorial absolutely perfect. The celebrant spoke as if she knew the departed personally. I don't know how I could have gotten through that first week without their gentle guidance and care. We had our mom's funeral arrangements here with Markey-Dermody. We started the process with Jenny Young who was extremely compassionate and handled every detail that we asked for. She also didn't make us feel pressured into anything we didn't want. Everyone at the home was professional and got back to us quickly with questions we had during this time. The follow-up appointment with Brent Whetstone to help with "who to contact" afterwards for cancellations etc. was also very helpful. Would highly recommend having your loved one in their care.

Preparing in advance is very important. We weren't ready to look after such an event.
