Taking advice from some friend's, we decided to check out Mary Brown's chicken. Walking through the front door, the cleanliness of the restaurant was apparent immediately. It was 5:15 PM, and one employee was busy sweeping the main business area. Based on today's experience, customer service appears to be a high priority. All the staff were interacted with, were very engaged. Both of us ordered a 2-piece chicken meal, with different side dishes. We were very impressed with the taste of the tender chicken. Now we understand why our friends recommended this location. It was rather unusual, to have a Scoops ice-cream shop connected directly to Mary Brown's. They offered several enticing flavors to pick from. I highly recommend a waffle cone, with a scoop of Orange Float, topped off with Cookies & Cream.

SO disappointed. Been craving fried chicken and someone told me to try Mary Brown’s - so we did. First, I ordered online, adding a note stating the split be 4 spicy and 5 BBQ as we had kids that couldn’t tolerate the spice, they mixed that up, causing me to have to peel chicken and try and ensure all spice was removed for a child. The wedges were barely warm and had an “old” texture like they’ve been sitting for a while, and were over salted. The coleslaw was the best item (which isn’t saying much with the quality of everything else) but was WAY too saucy and a medium was really 1.5 serving size. Tried to call the restaurant a few times to see if we could get the chicken fixed, and no answer. Will not be going here again.

The prices are very good, with plenty of options in the $5-$10 range. That said, the food experience is poor even for that price. We tried several items - tater poutine, big mary deluxe sandwich, chicken tenders, chicken wrap and taters. I wasn't expecting much, but still found everything pretty bland. Needs to do a lot better than this to be worth ordering in favor of the big chains. Most places around Edmonton have no clue what a poutine is, but for some reason, I still hold out hope and give them a try. This place was no exception, I'm afraid. I'm honestly not sure why these places even include it on the menu at all. If the only concern is price, you might still be satisfied ordering here. Beyond that it seems like luck of the draw, probably won't be back.

This location is by far the best on the southside of Edmonton. We pass a few other Mary Brown's locations that are closer to our home, just to come to this one as the food and service is always the best. The store is always kept very clean, the staff behind the counter are always pleasant and the food is great. The chicken is always juicy (never dry), tasty, and they always serve plump larger portions, unlike "Colonel Sanders". We just tried the new corn salad that is now offered on their menu and were very impressed with the freshness and flavor. That's why we choose to come to this location.

My husband stopped in at 9:29pm on Saturday July 8, 2023. I asked him to grab a large order of taters The people working said they were closing and would only give him a small. The hours state the closing time as 10pm, not 9:30pm. If the employees cannot work the required time they are stealing from the company, and perhaps it would be best to hire people who will actually work their scheduled time and operate the business during the hours it is supposed to be open. I have a picture of the closed sign at 9:41pm.

Not very impressed by this place or their food. We called in advance to place a large order, waited 15 minutes and went to pick it up. They hadn't even bothered to ring in our order and told us it would be twenty five minutes. I asked for a discount and they gave us 20% off which I appreciated. The problem came in when they tried to deny that we called but when I called my aunt to confirm I was at the right location, the person who made the mistake finally confessed. To top that all off, they got the order wrong and the chicken wasn't the great. Go to a different location.

Been going to this location at least once a month for years. Last evening we ordered a 9 piece feast for take out ( our usual). Got home to discover our 9 piece feast consisted of 5 wings, 1 back,1 breast , 1 thigh, and 1 unrecognizable piece of fried batter. The gravy had the consistency of brown dishwater. These were the most expensive wings I have ever purchased in my life. The quality seen to have gone downhill over the last couple of months. Unfortunately you have lost a regular loyal customer and will not be returning ever

This location is horrible. The Mac and cheese has relish or what smells like relish in it won't take a chance to taste it cause I have not seen too many green Mac and cheese. The service is horrible and don't speak English well. And the place is usually empty and know I know why. Their prices are high for what you get, not worth it. Never again will I go to this mary Brown's, maybe even any mary Brown's cause of the prices and this experience.

We ordered 3 2pc Hot and Spicy specials...we were surprised to be given three extra pieces because 'we think the pieces are small'. Excellent service...hot and fresh! Even better is the ice cream at this location. Definitely a winning store and friendly team.

I love fried chicken. I love Mary Brown's. Great for a fast meal. Chicken is always fresh and juicy. I prefer the taters to fries.. these are what i would call a wedge fry. They also have waffle fries now, I want to try them but the taters are just so damn good...The Big Mary is a great original chicken sandwich, they have a few variations like spicy and one with bacon and cheese. Every Monday the original sandwich is on special for $5, great deal and definitely recommended.

Love the flavor However there was something missing every order. The pieces of chicken used to be bigger and more plump and juicier as advertised however lately it seems the pieces are much smaller and too many wings and small pieces on larger orders. What changed to cause this? We find the cost/value is not even lately. Even after pointing out missed items on orders ( 4 times ), no compensation. Lacking in customer service and wanting your customers Back. Too Busy to Care!

Love the staff here. Was my update months ago. Have been going here for many years. I am a single male, so I almost always eat out and normally go there a couple times a week. But the staff have changed and there was something wrong in my last few orders. But to open the box of large fries to be less than a quarter full. How can they not know that is wrong and knowingly ripping me off. A lot of places are wanting customers and this place just lost one.

Just picked up chicken on the way home around 4:30 Mar.6/23(50st.location)...was greeted by a very friendly fella at the counter...makes my day to interact with a friendly staff member, the lady in the kitchen was all smiles too, ALWAYS friendly & spotless whenever I stop in for takeout...yummy chicken too:)

Went In there waiting for ice cream, person at the Mary browns side told me they would be right with me. Then continued to take two other customers order that came in AFTER ME. Don’t have an ice cream section in your store if it’s not going to have someone working the area 24/7. Trying to run two businesses at one time and failing. I walked out and will never be giving you my money again. Waste my time won’t be wasting my money.

I visited on 16th May 2022 at 8:00pm. One of the best branch of Mary Brown's.... I have never tried burger before like this location... Place was so hygienic and clean.. The front guy was very friendly and polite.. I would highly recommend due to their food, awesome seating area and best service.. I saw that 2 girls working in kicthen and they made best burger ever.. Highly recommended... Definitely visit again and again... ❤️

I have had chicken meal deals from this location 2 times. One in the restaurant and one for takeout. This location is clean and the staff looks to be enjoying their job. So convenient to order via skip the dishes. Their coleslaw is my favorite thing! They also have great deals that come in my flyers. There is also a scoops icecream right there!!!! Parking is tricky when the little strip mall is busy though.

Been there a couple times and the food quality is subpar. The battering on the potato wedges is very sparse/thin. The worst experience was their Big Mary sandwich. It seems the breast was battered and cooked with the cartilage still attached. Horrible thing to bite into! Couldn't finish the rest of our meal.

Walked in here on January 1st to get some popcorn chicken for my girls. It was a great experience. All of the staff were very friendly and the service was prompt. The food tasted delicious. My memory of Mary Brown's wasn't so good. This experience at the Millwoods location has completely changed my mind on them... Would recommend. Will go again.

My mom wanted fried chicken and I recall seeing a new location just opened across from Capilano mall. We drove over because it was less than 10 min away The staff were friendly, the restaurant was clean, well lit and received our order in less than 10 min. The food was delicious... So good and tasty that we came back a few days later

I went in to order and pic up. The young man behind the counter was very busy but did a great job. He was also doing double duty at the ice cream shop. I didn’t get his name but he deserves a raise. Keep up the good work. Five stars to the crew in the back as well. They we’re getting the orders out quick and efficiently.

Worst Mary Brown's in the city. Will not be going back here for their awful service.. There are a lot better locations all around the city. This one used to be good, gone way down hill.

White guy with glasses at the front (don’t know his name) worked very hard to clean the entire store while I was here and also had amazing customer service when I was ordering. I don’t know what he gets payed, but he needs a raise

I go here once a month usually, and every time the service is excellent. The staff are all super kind, quick, and helpful. The food is always fresh, I've ordered quite a few different items over the years and none have dissapointed me. Definitely one of the best Mary Brown's I've been too in the city.

1st time in this outlet, order spicy big mary combo and gravy. The gravy look great but there is no taste at all. The big mary burger, this is the 1st time the chicken come in 2 small prices. Never knew that, it always come in one big piece. Definitely not what i pay for. Would rather go other outlet.

Mary Browns is the best chicken joint in Canada. This location is great. Always clean, service is great especially that Mike guy. Ice cream shop in there is great too. This location does big Mary Mondays the best compared to other locations. I'll make a bit of a longer trip to go to this location.

I've always enjoyed Mary Browns chicken over other popular chicken chains. They are well seasoned, not oily, and moist meat. You also can never go wrong with their taters, its simply the best. Pricing is pricier but its definitely quality over quantity. And its Canadian too! I'll gladly support it

Recently tried kfcs new chicken sandwich that mimics the big mary. At least.... It was supposed to. I had a big Mary today and omg what A difference. The big Mary blows it out of the fryer. Haha.( Kfcs cost a dollar or so more as well.) I've also had their chicken. Very crunchy and tasty. 5 stars

Been to many Mary Browns’ restaurants, but this location does it best. Clean, great food where you can tell they care about making it tasty, and excellent customer service by both of the guys I’ve met working the front.

They are really close to me and that I don't go there often says something. It's not bad, just not really good. Seems pricey for what you get. Staff is friendly and they have a quirky little NFLD shop (specialty goods only available in NFLD). Pineapple Crush, anyone?

Best real chicken breast sandwich I have ever eaten! Pickle chips were excellent and the steak fries are delicious. Seasoning is bang on. I'm never full with just a sandwich but this filled me up. I woke up says later dreaming about the damn chicken sandwich!

Place was well kept, staff were very helpful. However it took awhile to get orders from kitchen to consumers a lady I know from the gas station close to my house had to wait about 20-25 minutes! I was told about 3min and it took approximately 15minutes!

This location is in a handy location to pick up a feast on the way home. Mary Brown's chicken is flavourful and really much better than the old man's bucket chicken. Far better. The staff here do an adequate job. Don't expect them to enjoy serving you.

Fried chicken is always at least a little greasy at these places, but Mary Browns is actually pretty good. Chicken was good, fries and Cole slaw too. I would go back here.

The service is so great. The ice cream and mary browns is really good. What is sad though is they only schedule one person to do cashier at both areas and they are constantly running back and forth. I wish places would hire more staff

Living only 2 minutes from this location, I am a regular customer. Always order the Big Mary combo, with fries, gravy and a pop. The sandwich is nice and moist, tasty. Best chicken in town. Staff are always friendly as well.

They are fast and friendly no doubt. I find their fries are always soggy and under cooked, so I put them in the air frier at home. Gravy could use some reworking as well. Otherwise, pretty typical chicken place. Very clean!

For a franchise, Mary Browns makes some of the best chicken burgers around. Their spicy chicken burger is one of my favorites, but if you're not used to spicy food, it'll knock your socks off.

Uniquely Awesome Mary browns. Good was good as it usually is but thus location has an attached store that sells all sorts of NFLd cultural foods. Caramel log bars and salt beef, etc. Love it

Went here for a quick lunch on a weekday. Got the waffle fries and chicken for $6. Really good. The guy working at the counter was also very friendly and nice. Would definitely come back.

Went here with friends for lunch today. The Buffalo Mary I order had way to much sauce on it. Customer service was good but If I ever decide to eat here again I'm getting something else.

Their Monday Big Mary deals are my favorite. The staff there is very welcoming and the service is great. I had to make 4 different orders and they got everything right.

The food was great we also had ice cream and enjoyed our time the staff didn’t rush us out if you were to walk in my moc’s I would give this 10 out of 10 feathers

Staff are friendly and helpful. The chicken was delicious and potato wedges are yummy. Corn salad was awful. I did enjoy that macaroni salad though.

Tasted good but not great. Didn't find anything special or different that other restaurants other than the slice of pickle on top of my bun.
