I was referred to Matthew Lorand Roofing and Specifically Jason Joseph after the recent Hail and Wind event in Austin during September 2023. I came home to find shingles in the yard and several sections of the roof exposed. My insurance agent suggested I call Jason and he had a representative out the next day by 8am to survey the damage and gave me two options to repair the roof or replace it. Both estimates were very reasonable and Jason did not try to sway me either way but due to the age of the roof I elected to have it replaced for a cost considerably under what my insurance agent estimated it would cost. Jason offered to have a crew come out to tarp the damage before the next rain storm even though I had not yet signed a contract. After setting up the replacement of the roof, Jason pushed up the timeline to get it done because of forecasted rain. The crew arrived early the first morning and worked till 7pm and then returned the next day early to finish the job. They also found 5 sections of rotted plywood that were not previously known and replaced it during the job. The whole job was extremely professional and the crew completely cleaned up the yard so not a single old nail was found in the grass. The materials were high quality and expertly installed and all the roof vents were painted to match the shingles. Jason also called several times during the job to give status updates. I could not be happier with the total job and Matthew Lorand roofing. There is nothing more stressful than hiring a roofing company and hoping the job is done correctly and Jason made the whole process easy.

I am very very satisfied with the work Matthew Lorand Roofing performed at the end of June 2022 in installing a new roof on my home with my insurance claim. With all the other roofing companies I interviewed promising me everything you can imagine plus telling me I did not have to pay my deductible which is a new Texas law that you MUST pay your deductible, just look it up TEXAS HB-2102 I did not know about this new law until they explained it to me. I never felt comfortable with any of the other roofing companies and what they we promising me. So I did my homework and vetting of other companies online and landed on Matthew Lorand Roofing and read the reviews and looked over Matthew Lorands website and was very impressed with their experience and knowledge of the insurance claim process. So I reached out to them and I talked with the owner Jason Joseph and from our very first meeting he brought insight into the process making recommendations and making other suggestions specific to my home's design and build rather than simply making the typical "sales pitch". The crew was on-time and paid careful attention to safeguarding my shrubs and outdoor lighting while completing the project on time as promised. Clean up was performed every day of the project and despite a small rain delay, they were finished in basically 2 days which was the original estimate. Excellent! Jason was very patient with answering a long series of my questions during the quote process. We collected estimates from multiple companies, but this one stood out in responsiveness and thoroughness. We were able to get the replacement done very quickly once the contract was finalized. The crew arrived exactly when they were promised to, worked until after dark and then had to come back for just a short time the next morning (a Saturday). Even on the night they left early, they were meticulous about cleaning up our driveway by headlights from their truck - no surprise tire punctures here! So far in my gardening, I've found only tiny bits of missed debris from what is by nature a messy project to tear off a roof full of shingles, then trim the new materials. Of all the large outside projects I've had done over the years, their clean up was definitely the best. The roof looks great and I'm happy with the results. I plan to use this company later (after COVID) for repairs of the water damage inside. Highly recommended! Added 11/20/21: I needed a small roofing job for a newly installed backyard shed. My original contractor bailed in the middle of the job, with the shed assembled but without shingles. Jason came to see the project, sent me the quote, and then did the project all super fast. We had an exceptional experience with Matthew Lorand Roofing. We had a very large hail claim we had to get handled properly and professionally. Once done scouring through many other company reviews we chose to call Matthew Lorand Roofing based on the stellar reviews we read. After we provided the required insurance scope of work for the project to the their company they prepared a very detailed and extensive proposal that covered everything the insurance company had written up in our claim within 24 hours. They answered all of our questions which we had a lot with patience and understanding we never felt rushed or pushed. Once we signed and the work began they kept us well informed of the schedule from beginning to end. The company handled all of the paperwork and documentation that was required by our insurance carrier on the claim. They made it painless and flawless to get completed and closed out with our insurance carrier we did not have to do a thing. His crew was prompt and organized in their work and clean-up. And they never asked for any money down or any draws during the project just payment at the end. Who does business like this anymore? I needed to replace the original roof(~30 years old) on a house I bought last year. I was concerned about damage to the decking due to the original gutters being trashed and causing rot to the fascia in some spots. Jason came out and answered all my questions, educated me on a couple of things, looked over shingle colors and chitchatted a bit. After reviewing the quote, I signed it and work started the next week. His guys came out early the morning of and were totally finished by the end of the day including installation of two solar attic fans, two new vents for future bathroom exhaust fans and cleanup(my yard was as clean as it was when they showed up). There turned out to be two spots where plywood decking had to be replaced but it was much less than we both expected. Jason came out to check the work the day of and spent some more time answering questions I had about the ongoing work. Overall I'm more than happy with my experience with Jason and his crew and can't recommend them enough. The entire process was really smooth and put me at ease. Hopefully I don't need another roof anytime soon but if I do I'll be calling him, I plan on using him in the future to replace my old problematic gutters and any other related jobs.

I was looking for a roofing company with great reviews which lead me to Matthew Lorand Roofing. The scope of work was repairing damage from a satellite dish that punched through the shingles allowing rain water to rot the wood below leaving fist size holes into the attic. During my initial call with Matthew Lorand Roofing, (spoke with Jason) we discussed the damage and a "ball park" estimate. After the call I submitted pictures of the damage via their website & later that day I received the actual estimate which was within $50 of the "ball park" number. I asked Jason if the roofers could also trim back some small tree branches hanging over the roof if I provided the pole saw and blow out my gutters and without hesitation they were happy to take care of it at no additional cost. I was also pleasantly surprised the work order included an entire roof inspection which included installing roofing screws to any vents that were just nailed down. My schedule is busy and Matthew Lorand was happy to schedule work when I was home, the crew showed up on time, they were courteous & let me know when the work was completed. The crew took pictures of the work from beginning to end which is much appreciated. Thank you!

We had some hail damage to our roof, skylights, and gutters from a storm earlier this year. On a recommendation from a neighbor, we called Matthew Lorand Roofing to come out and take a look. The owner (Jason Joseph) came to our house, looked over our property and our insurance claim, then discussed with me about what work his crew(s) could do, and explained how he would work with our insurance company and the existing claim on the price and payment. The only thing Jason upsold us on was more durable roof tiles - an upgrade from the original tiles on our house. He was very professional and transparent about the price, and it was definitely a good recommendation. We asked Jason if he could try to schedule the work for a few specific days that we would be out of town. Even with supply chain issues, he told us he would try his best. He ended up getting the materials delivered to our house and the work completed exactly on schedule, which was extremely convenient for us. The roof change went incredibly well executed on an old roof with rotten wood underneath. The job was done faster than planned, the property was spotless during and after the crew left my house and the unknowns discovered during the job were addressed more than fairly. Matthew Lorand Roofing replaced my entire roof after hail damage. I did my research on what to look for in a roofing company and they checked all the boxes.(44 questions to ask your roofer) Not only on paper but in reality which is a rare quality these days it seems. Let me explain. Along with being professional, on time, quality workmanship, upfront with explanations and expectations they did not require any upfront payment beyond my deductible from me. Insurance pays for roofing in two checks one before snd one after work is complete. Instead of having me pay and get reimbursed from my insurance they waited untill insurance payed me. The roof was replaced in two days start to finish. They use their own trained crews, and along with the roof replacement they return your outside ( anything they needed to move ) back to the way it was before. A roof replacement is the biggest maintenances/investment that an home owner has. I highly recommend Matthew Lorand Roofing for this or any roofing needs. I had such a bad experience in the past with other roofers that seemed to be scams and shams and unprofessional so when my father had his roof replaced and was very pleased I decided to go with the same company. I had hail damage to my roof and had it replaced. Jason Joseph was my direct contact and he was very professional and knowledgeable about the entire insurance claim process and explained everything clearly and in great detail. He put me at ease of how the process would work and that they would even handle all of the paperwork required with my insurance company. The job was done in one day! I have several animals and was concerned about any debris left especially nails. I did not find one single nail. Jason Joseph the owner and his Project Manager Manual Guardado are so professional and great at communicating every step of the way through the process. Overall one of if not the best experiences I have had with a contractor working on my home.

Jason Joseph has been waiting for this review for a long time. The team he sent out was so efficient. They replaced approximately 1000 sq ft of roofing in less than a day, even with a leisurely lunch. And it looks really good. We decided on the attic fan option and I wanted to wait to see how the solar attic fan was doing before I reviewed. Our house faces about 290 degrees West and they put the solar attic fan on the east side facing about 110 degrees West, but there are tall trees on that side. Luckily the solar panel is adjustable. One afternoon I went up there and the fan was not running. I adjusted the panel to face the afternoon sun more and it turned right on. Which meant that the attic was hot enough for the fan to be on, but it was getting no power from the sun. I’m glad it was a fairly easy adjustment for me. 4 out of 5 stars. Jason made sure I had all of my many questions answered before I signed anything. The crew was fast and did a very good job. The roof looks awesome.

Jason the contractor; and the workers at Matthew Lorand roofing, did and excellent job repairing the damage done by a driver that ran into the side of the house we live in; on 8/4/22. They had to remove the brick and replace everything on that side of the house. They also had to replace the carpet with new tile flooring because it ripped from the crash. The insurance company took a little longer than expected to approve the repairs needed and how much money etc.. But Jason was there letting us know what was going on. The repairs were started 10/3/22; we were able to move back in the house 10/19/22. All the rest of the work and the roof were finished by 11/2/22. Jason stayed in contact with us the entire time, and we could call or text him with questions and concerns! Everyone at this company was very kind and professional! (Everyone)! We were overwhelmed with the amount of roofers that showed up at our door after a tornado hit our neighborhood. On the day of the install I needed a few branches over hanging the roof that were touching the shingles to be removed. His crew happily cut the branches without an upcharge. After a hail storm, I got the company's name from a trusted source and contacted them to check for damage. Jason came out and verified that the roof had been damaged which the insurance adjuster confirmed. Because Jason was so professional and responsive to my questions, I decided to hire his company. I ended up choosing Lorand for a few reasons: 1) The reviews I read were pretty good, 2)They were among the three most responsive, 3) The quote was very competitive, 4) The roofing shingles he quoted is one of the better brands, and 5) The owner, whom I was dealing with, lives in the same subdivision (Steiner). The job was originally scheduled during the ice storm but obviously had to be postponed. The owner kept me up to date and was very communicative. At the start of the job he came over to quickly go over how long it will take and answer any questions I had. I find the process of any major work daunting; however, the owner (Jason) made me feel at ease and the process was actually very straightforward once insurance approved my roof claim. In addition to replacing the roof, I added gutters all around the house and had the soffits, fascia and trim painted. Jason patiently helped me every step of the way, including narrowing down the choice of paint and gutter colors. I was very impressed by Jason. He honored a roof repair quote that he gave us several months ago. It was great not to see any price gouging that is going on with many companies nowadays. Jason was very responsive throughout the process. His crew turned up on time, fixed the problem and cleaned up afterwards. About a week later, I found a shingle on the lawn that had blown off in a storm. Despite being extremely busy, Jason immediately sent his crew to check. Turned out it was from our neighbor's roof and not even the same color as our shingles. Jason didn't even charge us for this follow up visit. Matthew Lorand Roofing was a real pleasure to work with. I had contacted another roofing company who was taking a really long time to quote me when I contacted Jason for a second opinion. He came to see our house the following day and gave us an outstanding quote that would be appropriate for us and not to fill the numbers the insurance company gave us. Price beat the competition by several thousands. The product color we selected was on backorder but Jason managed to find it in Austin so we didn't compromise on our selection due to shortage because of pandemic. Installation came within 3 weeks vs. 6 wks the other company initially gave us. Installation crew was professional and detailed, left everything clean and tidy after the job was done. After recent heavy rains we noticed that there were multiple leads in our attic, as alerted by water sensors. Matthew Lorand came out to do an inspection of our roof. Not only were they were able to locate the 4 points of leakage that we suspected, they found other issues on the roof, including missing flashing, damaged shingles and a completely missing vent cover. Their inspection was through and they sent us high resolution photos of all of the issues within a short period after their on-site inspection. They came out the week after to perform the remediation work and sent pictures of the completed work. They were on-time and very professional. They brought us peace of mind that our roof is back to being able to withstand future inclement weather. We would highly recommend their services!

Right before we installed solar panels, we had some roof decking damage. Jason was extremely responsive and came out the next morning to check it out. He explained due to the age of the roof, the glue had come undone and therefore we should consider replacing the roof before installing our solar panels. After a severe hail storm we were left with having to replace our entire roof. We met Matthew Lorand Roofing through a neighbor. I contacted them for an active leak in my ceiling. I had just bought a house and had a flat roof under a deck. Jason called me immediately and discussed the issue. Came out promptly (faster than any other company I contacted) and took a look. I really appreciated the time he took to discuss my issue and his expertise. He advised to take a watch and wait approach, to see if this was a one off due to the ice storm. I was so thankful for his knowledge and for him taking the time to help me and educate me. The first 2 companies I met with tried the high pressure sign this document tactic on me instantly and were so pushy and tried to up sale me on everything. It gave me the creeps! One of the best local companies I've ever dealt with. Replaced my old sad leaking critter-infested metal roof (that had been installed incorrectly decades ago) with a brand new one. Bid was competitive. Work was done quickly and professionally. I put this off for a long long time because nobody wants to spend for a new roof but now I'm so glad I did it. Jason was a pleasure to work with. Very responsive. I ended up going with different colors for different levels of roofline. Looks terrific. Adds a little custom look to what is often overlooked on a house. Very important - the work was done when they said it would be, and done very quickly.

We had some visible roof damage from branches after the ice storm. I contacted Matthew Lorand Roofing and they sent an evaluator out the same day. There was a phone call follow up and a detailed estimate sent of recommended work. They seemed honest and knowledgeable so I accepted the estimate. A crew came out the same day and completed the repairs and did some sealing of other areas to prevent water intrusion. We were sent photos of completed work. I am impressed with the communication and follow up and plan to use Matthew Lorand Roofing in the future. There are not too many companies in Austin that I would consider giving repeat business.

We had a hail storm hit our house in May 2022 and I had Jason out to inspect my roof based on lots of neighbors recommendations in Steiner Ranch. He advised that we have insurance come take a look at it based on damage he saw on the roof. Insurance ended up approving the roof replacement and he had a crew out replacing it in about a weeks time. The roofers were on time and worked all day even in the 105 degree heat and the roof looks great. Any questions I had Jason would get back to me right away. I've never reviewed a product on Google before but I want to say that Jason and his team were super-duper great and responsive. I can't believe how quickly they got the work done, and they handled all the hassles with the insurance companies. The roof looks great and was totally covered by insurance, and they even negotiated more stuff to be covered by USAA on our behalf. they added some interior fixes for leaks that were bid much less than outside bids (and happened sooner). Don't wait around and shop for other vendors - just book them.

After reading other reviews of Matthew Lorand Roofing I decided to call them to help diagnose and repair a roof issue at my parents. They were incredibly responsive and sent someone over to evaluate the issue. They sent me photos along with their recommendations for repair and then were quickly available to complete the work. Once complete they sent new photos that clearly showed what they had done. I appreciate how responsive and communicative they were as the work was being done for my elderly parents. I had a great all-around experience with Matthew Lorand Roofing. I had a leak in the roof and called 4 different companies. They were were only ones to get someone out there that day. They put a tarp over the leaks to prevent any additional damage at no charge and before I had even agreed to use them. Jason walked me through the process of filing a claim with my insurance due to the extensive hail damage. I was able to replace the entire roof rather than just repairs. I highly recommend these guys. They were great.

While it has been years since I was a homebuilder I have dealt with contractors and subs. Matthew Lorand Roofing did an excellent job on our roof. They knocked out 30 squares, removed and hauled off, reflashed as needed, and patched 6 areas in a single day, when it was 106 in the shade. When all was said and done they didn't leave a trace of mess. I would highly recommend them if you need a roof redone. As far as pricing goes they weren't the most expensive or the least. I'm very pleased with our selection.

We had trees fall on our roof from recent ice storm in Austin. They helped us work with insurance company, explained the insurance amounts, then worked with us to accomplish repairs. Roof job went extremely quick (1 day) and their communication levels were great (several calls and several emails to explain things). I cannot say much about the cost of the roof installation though, since I did not get any other bids on my roof, so I cannot say whether I got a fair price for my roof.
