I was super excited to try this place because of how good their food looks on their IG, unfortunately, their food looks much better on IG than it tastes. Might give it another try in the future, but definitely not anytime soon. Food itself was just average or a complete miss. The good - volcano fries and kode red Bao were good and flavourful. Would recommend these. The bad - salmon taco shells were very stale, definitely were not fresh. - mango prawn batter is not your typical flaky tempura batter. Taste was just okay. The ugly - the 2020 roll. For one of their most expensive rolls on the menu ($20) the display and plating is absolutely atrocious. See the picture below. I actually hesitated to take a picture of it. Also, there was so much rice and so little fish (I wish I took a picture). Nothing special for service - they took our orders, brought our food, no water refills. Otherwise, small little restaurant with tons of parking in the rear. Not sure I would recommend people to go here, but their tapas for 50% off has a little value.

I've wanted to try this place out, but I just can't support the people who work here who find it okay to scream and yell in the parking lot, get into physical fights, and last time one of the guys comes out waving a hammer and smashes it against a door. This has happened a couple times now. They are such a nusense to the area. Take your personal issues somewhere else. EDIT MAY 18 In response to the company's reply to my original review, these people have come from this locations side door many times throughout the day, plus the man with the hammer struck the side door and left marks. I am aware of the break in at 204 Pizza, but that is not related to this. Unless there is another business in your building that I'm unaware of where their employees dress in almost if not all black, I would gladly be corrected and would happily remove this review.

I never would have expected meal set bistro to be located where it is. It feels like a hole in the wall !! I have taken and recommended this place to a lot of my friends and family! They have specials everyday on certain items and holidays. I CANNOT RECOMMEND MSB ENOUGH!! On 'food weeks' like burger week, poutine week etc., their submission-dish is not only extravagant, they are beautifully presented, delightfully flavourful, and leaves you wondering "where the hell have you been, loca?" The staff is kind, knowledgeable and (of course being in Winnipeg) friendly (: I appreciate the chefs who have taken the time to master the techniques and push the boundaries of flavour, design and authenticity. What a pleasure

Ordered the Crab Bao and Kalbi ribs. The Bao was good, but the portion was on the small side, not a surprise for this kind of place. Not quite good enough to be worth the cost if you aren't a light eater. The Kalbi ribs were however a complete disappointment. They tasted fine but the ones we got were around 40% bone, absolutely not worth the price on that. It doesn't even come with rice. The person who ordered the ribs got a double order and still was left a little hungry because of just how much of the ribs were bone. Overall I'd say that despite being good, it wasn't worth the price of admission.

I have enjoyed dine in, delivery and take out from Meal Set Bistro and the food has always been delicious! I absolutely love their tofu bao with a side of spicy mayo, and their sushi is phenomenal too! I am vegetarian and they have always been so accommodating with making me additional rolls that aren’t on the menu which I really appreciated! My friends that have tried their seafood/meat options were blown away at the flavour combos and quality of the food as well! I 100% recommend trying here and will continue to order take out during the pandemic, and look forward to dining in again when they reopen!

A unique sushi place. Not many of the usual rolls. A bit fancier than what you generally see. The Bao was good and unique (admittedly, the big ol' fried crab legs were surprising, all curled up on the Bao). Nice big rolls. I think we had 5 or 6 dishes between 3 people and there were leftovers. The appetizers were great too. We had agedashi tofu. All of the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful (like 12/10 friendly)!

I ordered the ATL poke bowl for take out and it was well packed, delicious, and fresh. It was good value, considering the bowl was packed to the literal brim (I actually split it into 2 meals since it was a large portion). I can't wait to come back for dine-in as it looks super nice inside and I've heard amazing things from friends. I would like to try their platters and Bao next time I visit! I randomly checked the restaurant nearby the airport and it jumped out and had great reviews. We came on Saturday evening around 05:00PM. normally the happy hour lasts from Tuesday to Friday. Accidentally we were offered happy hour, really appreciate. The foods are amazing and the price is quite fair. The staffs are quite friendly as well. Would come again next time with friends. Strongly recommended if you are looking for a new style Japanese restaurant.

MEAL SET GO: Really love their pre-made meals! I order them every other week, about 5 at a time. The price is comparable to Hello Fresh, except I don't have to cook the meals. Delivery is always superb, as Kevin keeps in contact and makes sure you're home before popping by so nothing is left out! Food is delicious and good portion sizes.

Insane burger for Le Burger Week. It's good to know that as of right now, they are only serving this burger until the week is up. We were absolutely blown away by the burger, I can't stop recommending it to friends. Service was super friendly and the price of the burger is justifiable.

Definitely going back to try the rest of the menu. Burger week burger was top notch. Will provide description. Good to see this restaurant is 'back' different owners but great food like Asian Fusion was before it (former owners of Asahi, the best sushi spot Winnipeg has ever had).

I think this might be the best restaurant in the city. The presentation is always beautiful. The ingredients seem like they are great quality and the food tastes amazing! The staff are also very warm and friendly. This is truly a hidden gem in this city

Presented well, great portion size (lots of salmon, lots of Tuna) well crafted food packaged very well for take out. Priced well for the high class food that it is.
