Today I rang to enquire about having my upright piano moved and within 2 hours, mission accomplished. Piano lovers will know what I mean when someone 'gets' your piano. :) Pianos mean something different to each person and my piano may not mean anything to anyone else. It is over 100 years old and has been in our family since new. My great grandmother played it and my grand mother played it. You cannot put a price on sentiment. Today, Dale and his un-named helper treated my piano with care and respect. All I can say is I highly recommend Dale and his un-named accomplice. Professional, prompt and very good communicating. Fantastic. Had to move piano from Hampton to Ringwood, (July 2014) with a flight of stairs and narrow entrance at the destination. Was quoted between $430-$470 from another company. Dale personally visited the house and had a detailed look around so he could quote me accurately and performed the job for $270. He was friendly, polite and professional. Would not hesitate to use his services again. Edit: I used Melbourne Piano Movers again in April 2015 to move a Hammond organ and Leslie rotating speaker cabinet from Oakleigh to Ringwood. After my last experience with MPM I didn't even bother contacting anyone else. Once again Dale and crew provided an excellent, efficient and helpful service. He was able to perform the move on the day I requested with very little notice. I have recommended MPM to others and will defiitely be using them again next time we have a piano or organ to move.

I booked a removal for a Monday afternoon and stated in writing that there were 6 steps into the new residence. The booking was accepted and confirmed. I was phoned on Saturday to book for Sunday morning. I emailed to say that is not an option and after some discussion I agreed to 12.30pm on Monday. I was then phoned on Monday morning to check I would be home at 11.30am. I was at work! I agreed to 12pm. 2 removalists arrived and loaded the piano. At the other end, they were surprised that there were 6 steps. The office said that they needed to bring more people and charge me more money to get it up the steps. After showing them the original booking email, the office backed down and sent one extra person. The piano was waiting outside in the sun for an hour. Based on this experience I would not recommend this company.

Dale is a thorough professional, who responded very promptly to our request to move our piano. His availability, service cost and flexibility was first class. The piano was moved safely over 500 km and we were surprised at the level of contact he maintained from initial contact to completion. Dale was efficient, courteous and cared for our floors as well as sharing his knowledge of pianos. I can't recommend Melbourne Piano Movers highly enough. I found them through a google search and from the first phone call Dale was a pleasure to deal with. He quickly gave me a quote, pick up and delivery time, kept me informed when the time changed slightly - only by half an hour, all whilst being the friendliest mover I've ever dealt with! Not only that but when the pianola turned out to not quite be in the condition the seller described (nothing to do with the moving service) he helped me over the phone and would even come past next week to have a look and help me out if required. Professional, punctual and a pleasure to deal with, highly recommended.

I live 3 hours from Melbourne and required a piano for my children. Dale provided the whole package. He gave me advice on what sort of piano would suit me and my budget, helped me to source this piano (a Petrof which is beautiful) and then picked it up, had it professionally tuned, then delivered it to my house. Installation was safe and professional and he gave me advice about positioning, care and maintenance of the piano. The kids LOVE their piano and the neighbours on both sides have actually come over to say how much they are enjoying hearing the sounds of our new piano. I would highly recommend for price, professionalism and personal care.

The guys dropped the lid on a 115 year old Steinway, accidents happen I understand and at the time I was more concerned about the worker who had injured himself in the process. Significant damage to the piano lid, they still had the nerve to charge me on the day! In hindsight I should have withheld payment until it was repaired. I was assured it would be fixed very quickly and would be a priority. After hearing nothing for 2 weeks I followed up. My calls were avoided and not returned, for months. Finally got some responses after I threatened legal action. 13 month process. Avoid this company.

Exceptional service and professionalism throughout. Not the cheapest move, but certainly the best if you’re seeking the care and attention to detail your instrument deserves. Michael and Rocky, who assisted us were an absolute pleasure to deal with and really went above and beyond to ensure that our electric organ was transported safely and on time. Both were also really great with my super excited seven year old son and you really can’t put a price on that kind of service. Thank you very much. I have moved my piano five times from apartments to houses to units and back to apartments. The last two moves I have had the joy of observing Dale, Jamie and Paul take great care of my precious Yamaha but also mind my walls, my carpet, my tiles and my other possessions during the stressful moves. Exceptional service - these guys have helped us move our baby grand three times over the years and every single time has been an awesome experience. They are punctual and responsible, and most importantly they take great care of the piano and we were able to trust them with the piano without a worry every single time. Not sure if this is because of the recent change of owners but my experience was awful. Rang and left a message, no one rang back. Two weeks later rang again. Explained the situation with my difficult move and got cut off. I sent a picture and a video of the difficult move situation, no response. I called a third time to check if they had received my last text. Not really was the response but said they would attend the very next day to see if the move was possible. No one turned up or called. Not recommended.

I can’t recommend these guys any more strongly. We were faced with the most ridiculous piano move imaginable. My wife’s 100 year old beast had to be lugged up the extreme slope of our new Greensborough house. There was a sheer driveway followed by 10 extreme, uneven, huge steps. Rocky and team were simply superb and so impressive. They also went beyond by helping us correct piano lean and offering us a really competitive deal after a miscommunication had occurred. You can feel safe and sure going with MPM.

I very much liked the "can do" attitude shown by Rocky and his team, particularly as my piano needed to be uncrated at the airport after arrival from the UK and then delivered to the Dandenongs. Another happy customer! Dale arrived exact booked time and they know how to handle different situation wisely. My situation was a bit more complicated than Dale expected (He quoted with Google Maps and photos via MMS). He has to come back again another day with more people to make sure the safety of piano and his staff. However he insists that he sticks to his quote and no extra cost is needed. Skilful and yet very cautious - very trustworthy choice!

I had a 300 kg 1920's piano moved and the guys were awesome. They took great care of it, were friendly and professional and were really apologetic that it cost a little more than expected, even though it was because the seller hadn't told them that they'd need to take a door off, move a fridge and a book case. Despite it being a tougher job, they were great to work with and I'll be calling them back next time I need to move the beast!

Super happy with Dale. He was great on the phone, super prompt with replies. He said he'd be there at 8.30am, and was. He's the third bloke I've used, by far the best. He even provided me free castor cups to protect my floor, without prompting. I was super impressed, to be honest. Courteous and I could pay by Credit Card. He came and assessed the difficulty of the job (which was high) then gave us his opinion on how the works would be carried out which was practical and thorougher.
