Lessons learnt from dealing with Mentone Furniture Clearance 1. Be careful what you buy, ensure what they are delivering is in fact NEW and not floor stock from another retailer or damaged warehouse stock from another retailer. Unless you ask the salesperson, he or she will not tell you. 2. They have their own delivery truck, however when they sell you the couch they will indicated another company will be delivering it at a cost of $90. 3. Ensure they don't delivery after dark when you can't see what you are getting as once it is offloaded it is yours and it will become your responsibility to return it to them at your cost. If it happens to get damage on return they don't have to accept it. 4. Your personal information you provide could be provided to another company. 5. This company and its staff have no interest in customer service. 6. A large majority of reviews on Google are fake. The giveaway is that the users have only ever given 1 review and it happens to be a 5 star review a business. 5 star reviews can be purchased through numerous companies. This is usually done after a 1 or 2 star review has been posted. 6. If you have concerns go elsewhere!! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In response to the owners comments. 1. The driver was never falsely imprisoned, he was free to leave. I suggest you review the legal term of false imprisonment. 2. The message sent to your company was clear, cost of the couch delivered that afternoon. The amount specified was placed into your bank account that morning. Perhaps in all the messages you could provide one that said the cost was $1700 + $110 delivery. (being mindful I was previously provided with a price $400 off the total for 2 couches but instead on the day got $100 off the one couch.) 3. No delivery time was disclosed in advance. There was no communication from your company regarding delivery, I had to ring a number of times including 5min before closing to confirm it would be delivered as promised. 4. I am not threatening and harassing you, or your business. You continue to provide misleading information and as such I will continue to correct you. 5. Threatening me with the police or legal proceedings when your driver deliberately damaged my property is unacceptable. Be mindful that there were 5 witnesses in the house on the day who clearly saw and heard what happened.

Look at the reviewers - this alone will throw up red flags. This place is NOT what it reads to be. I'm seldom one to leave google reviews, but the old guy wandering the store on Sunday morning is not welcoming, has absolutely 0 experience in sales, and will lose all interest as soon as you indicate you won't buy from there. Extremely limited selection, everything looks like it's been bought from Kogan and just added $1000 to the price tag, the couches are extremely uncomfortable and beds are unsleepable. Overall, sales experience was a 0/5, products were a 1/5. Steer well clear, it's very obvious their reviews were bought and aren't real at all. Edit: I misspoke - I was referring to chaises when talking about 'beds'. I am not a furniture expert. Honestly, despite having the reply from the business, it was 60% the 'salesmans' poor assistance and attitude. I repeatedly said what I was looking for in a couch - only to be met with the same line of "well we have this one at a different price point" - the price point was not the issue I was outlining. The other 40% was the lack of choices on the floor. To be accused of being a competitor is laughable. I signed my name in on this day, along with my phone number. The business is free to call me to discuss my experience at length. Of course, no call has presented. Why don't you call me if you're so suspicious that i'm a competitor or i've been paid to review the business?

Honest review: I had been to Amart, fantastic furniture, Ikea and a few other stores looking for a decent sofa. I had a fairly small budget and I was looking for a "bang for the buck" kinda deal (As one normally would going to these stores). I sat on almost every sofa in these showrooms and I was surprised by the quality. They all felt really cheap and uncomfortable. Even the ones marked with a premium price tag in the $2000s After many attempts and disappointments, I randomly stumbled across Mentone Furniture Clearence Centre and it was my last stop! I walked in, sat on the very first sofa I saw, scratched my head, made the purchase! The sofa looked amazing, felt premium and super comfortable compared to all the sofas from the other stores. And the best part was that it costs way less than the competition! The purchase experience was so simple and pain free. Shane was generously accommodating and genuine. He didn't try to do the typical sales pitch and he didn't need to either. The products sell themselves. I'll be going here for all my furniture needs and I think you should too. Don't pay your hard earned cash to big companies with clever marketing strategies and purchase poor quality products that you are not going to be fully satisfied with. Go here instead!

We bought a small couch back in April. The manager told my fiancé they didn’t do delivery, but the kit would fit in a normal car. I came out to collect having taken a day off work, and when it couldn’t fit, I was told to bring a bigger vehicle. When I told the store manager flatly no, delivery seemed to be an easy option! (funnily enough, their Facebook posts all now talk about delivery) I would have let it go, but when assembling the couch, it became obvious that it was a defective factory second, including with unmarked and missing screw points. The cushioning is poor quality, and you can feel right through to the frame. If you wouldn’t sit on it yourself, don’t sell it! — In response to the owner comments (which seem to repeat the response to earlier, critical reviews), you wouldn’t have my name as my fiancé paid, but you did get my details for the delivery, and sent me the assembly video mentioned. The fact is I don’t need to prove anything to give a legitimate review. My fiancé had no interest in a pickup, and I only came because she was explicitly told it was not available. Just learn from the experience not to tell people otherwise. The couch was not marked as a factory reject, but in fairness, quality only becomes evident after sitting on it for awhile.

I started following Mentone Furniture Clearance (MFC) on Facebook from Sydney when I knew I was moving to Melbourne. So I knew I liked the look of the furniture. Having arrived in Melbourne and desperate to get a decent sofa before my daughter arrived 6 days later, I went to IKEA. They don’t have a lot of stock so I couldn’t get what I wanted in the next 6 weeks and that was just the standard line. I then went to MFC first and one sofa stayed in mind. I went to another place where there were stacks of furniture shops and saw every sofa. I went back to MFC and got my sofa for at 36% of the original price and a very good price for a leather 3 seater sofa. This was delivered 3 days later by a very nice chappy with the sofa wrapped up in plastic and not a scratch on it. The stock is all in good knick. It’s a warehouse, not a fancy store. It’s well worth the visit. And I’m very happy with my sofa. With the savings on the sofa I can now get a dishwasher……

I was recently looking for a leather sofa, and visited most of the major furniture retailers. I finally found the one I liked, but then learned it was a 6 month wait - so January 2023. So I decided to look for one more week or return back and place a deposit. Thankfully I found Mentone Furniture Clearance! For a quarter of the price, I had a beautiful brand new leather sofa delivered within 4 days. It was a seamless experience from start to finish and I would highly recommend this store. The owner was very helpful and honest in his recommendations and the delivery bloke was top notch. For the price you get here, would highly recommend this place!

Brilliant customer service. I went into the showroom yesterday lunch time and was shown many potential options. I couldn’t decide at the time but was emailed the options and pricing and received a call that afternoon confirming delivery could be available that night. I made a choice on the couch I wanted and transferred the payment online but did not use Osko so the payment was not instantaneous as planned but they trusted me and went through with providing the delivery last night before the transfer was even confirmed in their account. Could not be more happy with the service and quality of the actual product.

Can't recommend this place enough. Amazing quality furniture at fantastic prices. Bought a high quality Lounge with chaise, had it delivered. One of the corners had a dent in it, was disappointed and thought they would just say something like "that is why it's cheaper" but no.. they had the delivery driver (who is a seperate contractor) pick up the couch and deliver a brand new one in perfect condition within a two hour period. Unbelievably good! Looked at the exact same table at Temple and Webster and it was about $1200….which I was going to buy, until I saw it on Marketplace… delivery driver was fantastic, showed me the product, made sure I was 100% satisfied. Table was in perfect condition and easy to assemble. It is the absolute perfect purchase for my new kitchen/bench seating area. Dealing with the owners on Marketplace was effortless. Ordered, paid and table delivered in 2 days!!! Highly recommend these guys!!!! 11/10!

We recently bought our lounge here and we had the best experience so far. Shane was patient with us even though it took us so long to decide. Rod from the warehouse was also very helpful and attentive to our needs. Later We found out it was Zara lounge from Plush that we got for half of the retail price. We are very pleased and happy. Very happy with the purchase of furniture we made over the Black Friday weekend. It’s for our holiday home and the couches with the table and chairs were delivered the next day! Excellent quality, comfort and we love the style. The modular sofa is so comfortable and just the right comfort, not too soft or hard. WOW, absolutely fabulous! I've been looking for drawers. Saw something similar, not only did the drawers didn't slide easily, it was around $500 more than Mentone Furniture Clearance Centre. I asked if it could be delivered before Easter, it arrived today. They even let me know half an hour before delivery and the chap helped to take it out of the box and put it in place. How sweet it is. I wouldn't be bothered looking for furniture anywhere else. Thank you for everything.

Incredible products for a fraction of the price the major retailers charge where their originally sourced from... this couch would normally retail for $2200 and I purchased it for $690, they won’t tell me who the retailer is due to privacy and agreements they have but I’m sure it’s plush or the likes. Found this gem randomly on Facebook and couldn't have been happier! The store had a great range and I found the perfect dining chair, dining table and bar stools at a really good price for my new home. Organising delivery and payments were very easy. The items were new and came flat packed. Although one item was faulty, they organised a replacement straight away and delivered it the next night!

Bought a three Seater sofa and got the free ottoman and cushions that came with it. Found exactly the same sofa at Adriatic for $2100 with out the ottoman. Love the sofa. I ordered 2 three seater couches and am very impressed. The manager answered all my questions and had them delivered to the other side of the city for $65 on the day agreed. Dissapointing to deal with, all friendly and helpful imitially, then when it came delivery was promised a set rate, then they said they could only do weekend deliveries at an extra rate than what was quoted and was given no choice in the matter. When the delivery driver arrived I had to help as they just sent the one guy with the lounge!

Terrible service. Dodgy owner. Bought a brand new sofa which didn't fit in my apartment building and wanted to exchange the sofa for a smaller one and they didn't want to do it.
