I rarely take the time to write reviews for anything and have never written a bad one. It saddens me to be writing this one now but I no longer feel like Mercy Culture Prep even resembles the Christian foundation that Pastor Bob Nichols worked so hard to achieve for Calvary Christian Academy. Our oldest daughter started at Calvary for the 2010-2011 school year and graduated from Calvary in 2018. Our youngest daughter just completed her 6th year at Calvary and she can no longer recognize her school, the only thing she will miss will be the friends and teachers she’s leaving behind. Had it not been for the Covid lockdown (when Mercy Culture took over) and the death of my mother, I might have realized sooner that I could no longer trust Mercy Culture with my daughter’s spiritual education. We only visited Mercy Culture one time in 2021; our family has always attended a different church so we attended a service after the lockdowns had been lifted. Although, I was distracted by all the different expressions of praise being displayed on many different areas of the stage and isles, I found no issues with the actual message. I thought I could trust them with helping my husband and I in nurturing our daughters faith. We happily re-enrolled for 2021-2022. I’m grateful to God that my daughter had Mrs. Palm for her final year at Calvary Christian Academy, I’m grateful for all the strong Christian teachers who have remained teaching at Calvary. My daughter truly loves all of her teachers and we know they loved her as well as our entire family. I’m also fearful of the consequences if the teachings of Mercy Culture take root within the Christian population as a whole. I believe that the Lord has gifted us all differently and we all praise him differently with our gifts. However, Jesus teaches inclusion for everyone. My child felt excluded when she rightly refused to stand in a circle and pretend to speak in tongues. Mercy Culture is teaching biblical principles to children that are complicated for Mature Christians to comprehend. Some people may think that this is a good thing; I believe it can also be detrimental if not taught appropriately, especially to children. We have experienced many social contagions over the last year alone, let’s not let our worship (speaking in tongues) become one.

I genuinely do not like writing bad reviews on businesses.. This isn’t technically a “bad” review but more like a “beware” review. Let me start with the good, the church is magnificent. IF YOU DON’T HAVE CHILDREN. The praise and worship is the best I’ve ever seen, the pastors always captivate and make you very interested in what they have to say and the church has got a good vibe about it. My only problem is children's church. If you’re not there by 11 (early) your child will not be allowed to go into children’s church. I can’t tell you the amount of times I showed up at 11:10 and got told “there is no more room for your child’s age group.” That’s very very inconvenient! Then on top of that to make matters worse, they are constantly canceling childcare altogether causing the sanctuary to fill up with children which then caused tons of families to have to sit in the “overflow” room which is in a separate part of the building and not church at all. It’s just very very inconvenient how OFTEN this happens. Church starts at 11:15, my family got there at 10:50 today and STILL didn’t get a seat. If this was rare I wouldn’t care but I told myself if it happened one more time I was leaving the church completely and leaving a review. Today is that day. I rush to church to INSURE my kids get to play with their friends, walk in and get told it’s canceled AGAIN today. This is very very inconvenient on parents. I wish this church the best and had so much fun while I was here. Again this is an amazing church, but if my children can’t do children’s church every Sunday like my husband and I do then it’s not for us.

Landon truly hears from God and knows how to guide and lead the Church to God through the Holy Spirit. Anyone who is critiquing because of mask mandates and what not has it all wrong because a church and or spiritual entity should not be critiqued for standing firm on its faiths and beliefs. People don't live by what they profess they live by what they actually and truly believe. The fact MC does not enforce masks shows they actually stand for the first amendment right on top of many verses that. could be quoted in response to the mask madness.. Religiosity is not something that is a part of Mercy Culture either, granted every single church in the world has its own fair share of principalities and powers and temptings within the church. I've always heard about the crushing weight of God and I took my soon to be Christian yet atheist friend here and we both were blown away by the literal manifest presence of God. Witnessed a legit prophecy over someone's life. during it all too as well. I've been to a lot of different churches in the DFW area and MC definitely has something special going on. God bless Landon and MC!

**** This review is of those under the leadership **** The lead pastors associates and others and leadership at the church are phenomenal at what they do. The church is truly growing and alive because of the Holy Spirit that lives and dwells within them and can't help but flow out of them. However I have been at the church for over a year now and have been made to feel so uncomfortable through their inauthenticity (which ironically is a church value) that I no longer wish to go there because of the people that attend. I came to the church with a lot of baggage and a lot of church hurt, to only have it not addressed but piled onto by the pastoral Care team, and the other members of the church that I had tried mt best to get to know. My encouragement to you if you're reading this is the definitely watch and partake in the YouTube videos that they post of the sermons and worships experiences but I would not attend at this location. If you suffer from things other than physical ailments this church has a hard time meeting your needs and offers the same platitudes that others do in different verbiage.

If your spiritually immature and don't want to grow, if you are easily offended and blame others for the way you allow yourself to feel, if you don't want to intentionally experience the tangible presence of God, if your seeking a soft tickling to the ear- make you feel comfortable with no conviction kind of a sermon, if you want a pastor/ spiritual leader that will be a people pleaser and convert to your ideas or personal opinions instead of being obedient to God and His word, then this is not THE PLACE FOR YOU. If your sick of a religious spirit and want to grow from a believer to a disciple in Jesus Christ you won't regret TRUSTING these leaders to speak life into you and mentor you.

When I was looking for a church I felt a kick in my spirit & knew I found my tribe the first service I came to. I needed healing and deliverance, and I am so grateful that Pastor Landon & his beautiful wife Heather were obedient to what GOD called them to do to plant this church. This is EXACTLY what I have been longing for. In so many aspects. I have been loved back to life & healed through love & GODs presence that is so evidently there, & when I was in spiritual turmoil, this place helped me back to clarity of mind & knowing of forgiveness & healing. Praise & Bless GOD who did this work through this place. Blessed be the name of the LORD forever & forever

I love this house. Me and my wife started attending and in a matter of 2 months we decided to be members. I love that the pastors talk about politics and everything that is going on in this world. It reminds me of the verse that talks about the church on the hill. The church needs to position itself. Satan has always attacked the church and for whatever reason Christians have always been passive. We’re called to infiltrate every area, politics especially. We’re an army! We’re called to war. I couldn’t be more grateful God has led me and my family to a house that recognizes this especially in this time in history.

  • Gianpaul Curioso

Praise God. There’s no perfect church, I am not claiming that. But this church really loves Jesus and tries to move with the Holy Spirit! At first I was skeptical because I wondered how can a church be so big and appear to be Spirit filled there must be some form of lukewarmness or “seeker friendly”ness to it. But there isn’t, there is powerful spirit filled worship, and there’s deep, challenging, convicting, sound teaching at the church. Such an atmosphere of love after the service too. Amen, blessings to whoever reads this I encourage you to pray and come see what God’s doing at this house

I was going trough the toughest time of my life, sleep less nights early mornings crying and in pain, doing the worldly things was not what I yearned for my soul, I wanted peace I wanted to connect myself to something beautiful, something genuine , where I was welcomed and assured everything was going to be ok. Mercy helped change my life, I disciplined my body and mind to show up for morning service and boy I’ve never encountered such an amazing spiritual presence. God is in this house , belief is here, love is here, everyone is special everyone matters. Thank you and God bless you all

Went there for the 2023 conference over 3 days and it was powerful, met some very nice people and would have loved to meet some more, but it's obvious to see why people come from out of state to visit this church and the campus itself is very nice and has a lot to offer and having spoken with a few of the more involved SLS folks, thanks Carver, it's encouraging to see where the paths are taking our future our legacy. One last thing, they are very charismatic and got me out of my shell which brought my relationship with God to a more intimate level.

Some people relish in the traditions if their faith. As I walk into low lighting I was doubtful of that I would receive a clear message. Genesis 22:2-12 was the passage that was spoken along with sins of the flesh. When I exited the church I clearly understand stood it’s not the tradition that one Should focus on is the message that God is delivering. The work of GOD was delivered. Great Job I’m looking forward to another visit. Best wishes on servicing the community in Waco, Texas over all

Mercy Culture is the best place to grow in your walk with Christ!! The pastor has taught me so much about the Holy Spirit. I am filled with so much joy having them be open during almost this whole pandemic in 2020. This church acts on faith and not fear. Our pastor cares about our spiritual health and THAT is what is important in this day and age. Worship is always so beautiful and the team leads us into the presence of God so quickly. Come with an open heart and leave closer to Jesus.

  • Brandon Serrano

I used to attend here, but after digging deeper into my faith, I left this church. Mercy culture does not feed you with the gospel of Christ. Instead their focus is on giving you emotional highs through their worship music and energetic preaching. Also, I questioned their theology on their Instagram page and instead of responding to me in a godly way they simply blocked me. Avoid this church and attend a Christ-centered gospel preaching church.

  • Lara

If you're tired of Religion & want to really experience Jesus with a whole lot of people who are excited about changing lives for the Glory of God I recommend visiting this Church. You will never be the same again! The music & worship is great too. It's not contemporary but it's definitely not considered "Rock" music as another reviewer commented. Music is basically same type as what they play on the Christian music radio stations now days.

  • Jessica Hiller

If you want to be led by Pastors who are led by The Holy Spirit in accordance with the Word and in unity with a board of elders and you want to go to church that is for God to worship and exalt Him and you want your children to be as powerfully changed as they also meet with God… then Mercy Culture is for you! We exist to take people from corporate encounters with God to daily personal encounters with God!! It’s all about God!!!!

  • Green Lantern

I love the presence of God that fills this church and they praise the King with all there heart. John 3:8- You know the Holy Spirit is in this church because you can fill him and encounter him. Matthew 14:29 You just have to step out of the boat and have Faith Hebrews 12:2 And fix your eyes on Jesus the Author and Perfector of our Faith. John 20:29 Just believe and have Faith!

  • Joanna Hinojosa

This is definitely the healthiest, most spirit filled church I have ever been to! Healings happen here! God moves here! God speaks here! The emphasis here is making God the priority and that the church is not built around man (or a pastor) it’s built around GOD! We don’t just make room for Him, we give Him the WHOLE room! I love that it’s like this EVERY. SINGLE. WEEK!

  • Rene Higdon

I LOVE DOING LIFE WITH THIS FAMILY!! This house cares about you, getting you connected to what you need and amazing kids ministry, every age is purposefully taken care of and loved so well. • Traveling Weim

Love this church family! The encouragement to seek the Lord every day (not just on Sundays) is so important and so needed. I’ve grown spiritually here and feel comfortable coming just as I am. There are also so many ways to get involved. I love it! The Presence of the Lord is here!

  • Jorge Bosch

A presence driven church. A house of worship that is built around the Jesus, The Father Yahveh, and Holy Spirit. A house of worship that is not built around a human or a ministry. A house of worship that fights for the City of Fort Worth and the nations…the hands and feet of Jesus.

  • HNL Construction
