Merivale Gardens Park is a small park surrounded by a residential area that entails Sandy Avenue, Bie Street and Rongail Street. It is a quiet and peaceful area in Nepean, with lots of birds and other wildlife, a small play structure, picnic tables and swings. A part of the park is turned into an ice rink during the winter. Community events include a corn roast in the fall. Nearby, on the intersection of Pineland Avenue and Vaan Drive, is Pinhey Forest, great for people who like to walk dogs, hike through lots of trails, or picnic on fine white sand dunes. You can search Google Maps, Pinhey Sand Dune Complex, for more information.

It will always be near and dear to my heart, as I grew up in the neighborhood... but you are away from traffic and it is a quiet park for kids with a nice, simple ball diamond and a small neighborhood skating rink in winter months. I will always love it.
