tried calling the store today and it took 30 minutes to get through. Asked if all the staff would hear the phone ringing and was told yes but customers in store take preference so i asked if the person greeting was able to answer a phone and was told yes but he was greeting people. Past credit check but had to wait till the next day to be told head office said no. No reason was given and apparently i have to write to head office to be given one? If there was a issue the head office could have called me direct instead of rejecting the application but of course that would be too sensible. instead branch emails head office head office makes decision and emails branch branch then call me i then have to call branch to be transferred to head office who then take my details and tell me they will call me back to tell me why but they dont bother they email the branch who then calls me back. I have only been with them 6 years yet sainsburys are more than happy to give me the money instead. Fantastic service

If you are considering this bank for in person service please do not waste your time. The absolute worse experience I have had at any bank and it isnt even close. And that is saying something because the customer service standard at the competitors isnt exactly elite. I had over an hr of my time wasted trying to open an account in person. After confirming at the very start of the appointment that I would indeed be eligible and patiently waiting for them to scan documents that were not even necessary to scan I was told after an hr plus of waiting that I could not open an account. I had to explain to a manager that I was in fact eligible and that it was in fact confirmed by them themselves that I was. They admitted it was completely their fault as they did not have a basic understanding of the UK rules. I left immediately after that. I repeat please DO NOT use a bank that doesn't even have a baseline understanding of the country it is operating in. Worst bank ever. ESPECIALLY for in person service.

Extremely poor service - staff who don`t communicate basic information properly - too quick to say it`s procedure like robots without being proactive and questioning procedure and dare I say it provide a fast service. Does t really take over 35 mins to scan or photocopy documents when the photocopier is down ? Why not just say rather than leave me waiting .... Takes forever to get through on the phone -took me over 20 mins for someone to pick up a phone call today after several attempts. Here`s a hint - Forget your dog biscuits and sweets and fancy gimmicks - try providing an effective efficient service for customers. Doesn`t need someone to come and meet and greet .. just provide a service that works and judging the reviews Metro bank Bromley is definitely NOT WORKING Why Metro bank do you only reply to reviews that give you 5 star ratings ??? - why don`t you try and start replying to customers who aren`t satisfied with the service you are "providing" ???

Apparently nobody was in front of me waiting to talk to someone about finance advice. Then suddenly there was someone in front of me and they’d like to do a credit check. When I wasn’t even asking for a loan. If there’s someone in front of me then how exactly is a credit check being done? What in the middle of someone else’s consultation? Then the attendant decided to discuss my finances in the middle of the lobby in front of everyone instead of allowing me to talk to anyone about my account and options. Used to be great service now these branches are overrun with retards who don’t even know what they’re doing. Closing my account because I refuse to bank with a a place that employs judgemental racists who look misrable and don’t understand what people are actually requesting. Completely unhelpful.

They refused to open bank account to my mate because he was unable to understand tricky accent member of bank. My mate is EU member, he had his ID and utility Bill with him. When I sad that I can translate things which he will not understand. Member of bank sad that I should have degree as an interpriter to do so)) The member of bank also gave my mate advise to learn English properly because he will not be able to open bank account anywhere in the UK, he sad it is a policy )) strange advise really... but anyway we decided to try to open one in another bank, and ges what? Every bank except Metro was able to open bank account, LLOYDS opened one stray away. All this smells like rasism for me, will contact metor bank had office to confirm if they really have such h a policy...

Really poor customer service, I Visited the Bank as advised for a walk in to open a-business bank account and was shown to wait and the asked to meet a rep. Mid way during the discussion was rudely interrupted and told there were 3 other people waiting n they couldn’t see me. When I suggested that I’d come from work and was actually asked to see the rep they were extremely rude and said I had to wait. Reminded that I had waited and asked to meet the bank rep by them.anyway they offered to book an appointment which I asked for Sat and they declined. I reminded that I’m not getting a very good customer experience and it seems they clearly don’t want my business. Very poor and rude performance will report to their Bank Manager

They're the worst bank branch I have ever visited. It's helplessness that they're the only bank that provide lockers. The staff is very ignorant, they do not know anything about the rules and regulations. They tell you one thing and after a while they will tell you something else. They themselves do not know anything. Very inefficient staff, there is no coordination or communication between the staff members. They make you wait hours when you visit and even then the job does not get done. I have visited the branch 4 times and yet my stuff is not done. I would not recommend going to this branch to anyone. M stuck but I would not want anyone se to be in my situation.

I share the same experience with the Bromley branch. Waited 45 minutes without being seen in order to open an account for my 18 year old son. There were 5 members of staff alone at their desk doing nothing. One of them spent 20 minutes attaching a new screen protector and then went away. The 2 members of staff serving other customers went for their lunch break after seeing these customers. The bad experience continued online with my son being rejected for an online account. He cannot have bad credit has he never had an account before. He was just trying to open an account to receive student finances.

Really poor experience at the branch. The staff are rude. Charlie the guy who manages the line thinks that it is alright to be rude to customers. So I asked him 2 times how long is the wait. Rather than being helpful and giving any useful information his stock response is you are in the queue - without any info as how long would it take etc. And you can see advisors sitting around free. Then he told another staff that he has told us 3 times already that we are in ‘line’. It’s well and good to Advertise a happy bank but what is the Point if the grumpy branch staff don’t follow

I wish I could give zero stars. Metro bank are so incompetent. I moved house in July and the so called business manager Emma Rabarts did not update my address despite emailing for MONTHS. I now want to discuss a loan and the person who is in charge of business accounts does not have a phone number on the system. Customer service have emailed him to call me and yet no response. You call the branch and it goes to Customer service. Closing my account ASAP. Account moved to mettle who are A1 thus far. **Do NOT open a business account with metro bank. **

I know a lot of people have given bad reviews but I honestly have not experienced bad customer service. Yes the lines are long and yes the systems are slow but so is pretty much every bank on the high street now a days. From my personal experience, I don't go in there if I know I'm in a rush and stay patient and calm while waiting. I am happy with the service I have received from the staff who have served me. The bank opens 7 days a week, which is a life saver to someone who works un sociable hours.

Worst branch, always soo slow even when store is empty. They will leave you waiting in line for over 5 mins despite being the only customer waiting in line when there’s idle staff floating around the store and counter. Very nosey, always asking what your doing with your money. The most annoying branch with worst customer service. Definitely perfer Croydon or Orpington which is a shame as Bromley is my local, but with this constant bad service it’s vey off putting going back

The worst customer service on the bank in Bromley, To get the access to my safe box, they took my Name and phone number n said will call you, then they call me after 20 minutes asking me to make my way back to the bank, it took for me to come to bank 12 minutes, They said we can wait only 10 minutes to come back. Then I have to waited 2 hours to take me in, In the bank aren’t busy at all, They made me very upset and angry, Never again to this branch.

Waited for a Hour and a half! Just so I can open a vault with them. They don’t do appointments for customers unless you have a business account with them which I find ridiculous! Disgusting to see that abbie from the Bromley branch clearly let two people go Infront of me when I was there before them, and could not smile at me once when talking to her just giving me a straight face! Where as vicky was very helpful and helped me throughout.

When you come to this branch they are always having a chat and not attending to customer like people ha e go all day to wait while staff chat and laugh like their having a coffee morning. I could let it slip if it was a one off but it all the occasions I have come to this branch. They can also be quite juvenile and rude in their remarks to customers. They need more custumer service skills. Or the mangers need training in Management

Visited Bromley branch this morning to sort out various issues when Samuel saw me waiting and came to help. Samuel was so helpful and made everything so effortless! Cannot thank him enough for all his help today, nothing to much for him - so professional, polite and knowledgable. Thanks again would recommend this bank / branch after todays experience and will be switching current accounts.

Due to countless experiences with their incompetent, unprofessional staff I decided to close my account down. To do so I just strolled in, asked the "teller" to please give me the remaining money from the account. They couldn't care less and they even gave me all my cash without me having to present any ID at all to confirm my identity! Unreal. A joke of a bank.

For a bank whose selling point is personal contact, branch service and face to face contact it does a poor job of providing basic services quality service. The staff don’t understand concept of service with a smile and like to throw the rule book at you. Visisted beach for locker service. Was told have to wait for 2.5 hours. Did not see a big crowd.

Hi it’s a bank with a bad management, I went today to open a business account at the branch I juts walk in and ask for open one, The staff member get up from his empty desk and said they don’t have the time for it, I reply it’s 4 empty desk with people doing nothing and you don’t have the time ??? It’s a shame and that’s way busyness are affected.

I will never come to this branch again. Most of the staff clearly don’t know what they are doing, poor customer service. Leaving customers waiting around while they chat and joke amongst themselves. This store would benefit from staff having actual training in customer service because, yuck

When ever you go in Bromley branch if the que is long like today it was going out of the door. Staff are at the main desk chatting to each other laughing 2 members chatting laughing 1 person at the till serving 4 desks. Why can't they just serve people.

Low-quality, childish staff with poor integrity. Staff are poorly trained and have fundamental problems with truth-telling. Do not work here as this is not a bank you want on your CV. Do not bank here as you cannot trust Metro Bank with money.

The branch manager should teach some manners to the branch staff, some of them have attitude problems (particularly asking me where I come from and why I have an accent when after 5 times I start to be uncomfortable )
