"Good venue though not much space"
I had the opportunity to see Cachimbaz and Ciro Pertusi perform last night at this venue, and it was a great experience overall. The atmosphere was pleasant, and the music was fantastic. However, one thing that could be improved is the variety of non-alcoholic drinks available. I went with a friend who cannot drink alcohol, and he had very few options to choose from. It would be great if the venue could offer more non-alcoholic alternatives, such as mocktails or alcohol-free beers. This would ensure that all guests, regardless of their preferences or dietary restrictions, can enjoy a wider selection of drinks. Despite this small drawback, I still had a great time at the concert and would definitely recommend this venue to others. The music and atmosphere were truly memorable, and I look forward to attending more events in the future.
Security do not seem trained to assist people with disabilities. Many of the reviews have flagged the door people as being rude and I completely agree. Upon spotting my blind cane, security allowed 3 guests to go ahead between my friends and myself (even though we were in line together). My friends then waited in the lobby for me so they could help safely guide me into the venue, and security shooed them up the stairs before scanning my tickets.
Such an amazing experience, the staff at the Metro were absolutely incredible. We required seating at the concert we attended and the service was amazing, from the intial phone call to organise our seat option and when at the venue and being directed to where we needed to go. We were incredibly grateful how accomodating they were.
I don’t understand why it has to be an 18+ venue, I know it’s because there is a bar. But shouldn’t the bar workers ask for ID?. Because the upcoming fan meeting for Soojin shouldn’t only be 18+ what about the younger fans who want to go? Even if they’re with an adult they can’t get in even though they already purchased a ticket
Good venue though not much space. Show was a sell out so hard to move around to get to the bar or toilet. Sound was good though would have liked it a bit louder. Toilets were not coping hence 4 stars not 5. No hand towels and extremely bad urine smell. Exit from the venue after the show was quite fast.
They don't accept cash which is legal tender! I couldn't pay by card as my phone was dead so thankfully staff took my cash (they have no change) and paid on their card! What will they do if the power goes out? Businesses who don't accept cash are digging themselves into a hole
Great live music venue.... Excellent stage view from anywhere in the venue. Large bar with plenty of staff so queues move quickly. 1200 head capacity leaves enough room to move. Could do with a few more toilets but otherwise the best live music venue in Sydney.
I love this ol'e place. Evrytime I have seen a performance here it's been great. Always a good atmosphere. Could be a bit cleaner but that just adds to the charming experience you have here. Parking is always difficult, but that's the city for ya!...
Metro Theatre is very small and convenient as it is located next to Town Hall station. There’s a bar inside so the security would check your IDs at the entry. The ventilation is not the best. 4 people fainted during the concert I recently attended.
This venue is usually great but I felt really let down tonight during the Trophy Eyes show. The security at the barrier was completely inadequate and the band had to keep stepping in to assist people to get out safely from the crowd. This
Amazing venue. A nice grunge vibe with good sound and places to view the stage. C Good ticket prices, and in an easy to access location relative to town hall station. Would definitely come back for another performance
Probably my favourite music venue in Sydney! Not too big, not too small, cleaner than a lot of others, bathrooms are clean, bar isn't cheap but not crazy expensive. Overall great vibe and location is so accessible.
Great venue for live music with fantastic acoustics, awesome security and staff we all had a great night at Pseudo Echo Concert on 17.6.2023. Great customer experience - thank you everyone at The Metro Theatre
Saw The Middle Kids last night there. The venue was actually quite nice and clean compared to a few other places we've been in the city. Great theatre setting, bar was good and staff was friendly and helpful
The floors are endlessly sticky, the bartenders don't know how to pour drinks properly most the time, why is the disabled section UPSTAIRS and why do you not have the ability to book it with a ticket?
Great venue its not so big so any position has good view. Sound was a not as loud as I would like, I had a walk around and couldn't find a sweet spot. Maybe it was the band or their sound guy?
Cool venue in the centre of the city, easy to access by public transport. Some good beers in the bar and great acts. Great to see the the continued recovery of live music in Sydney.
Great venue, however if your wearing earplugs don't stand near the stage as the sound drones a bit too much. Apart from that I have seen many amazing bands here over the years!
Love this venue. Small enough to be intimate, but big enough to have awesome crowd energy. Makes you feel like you're seeing the band just before they make it big.
Metro is amazing to watch some shows and to enjoy a good beer around the cbd. The town hall station is just a few meters away.
Always happy when my favourite bands play here. Has always been my most favourite venue in Sydney. Fantiastic sound.
Great venue, multiple levels you can view from but still feels intimate. Downside drinks are massively overpriced
Wonderful audio engineering brings this place to life, even the pre recording mix used between performances.
Good venue. Graduated standing room so even if your further back you can get a good spot to view.
Awesome venue..except when it's packed out! Get there early for a good spot!
Great venue. Seen some great gigs here
