We have just returned to Melbourne after a delightful few days at Mikado Park. The venue was excellent -spacious,beautifully appointed rooms and something to catch your eye at every turn. The house is designed with relaxation in mind-warm comfy beds, large soft couches and warm throws to be had inside and outside. We enjoyed the beautiful sunny lounge room and the chairs on the verandah. Tanya and Laurie are superb hosts and were there to welcome us with fresh eggs from their own hens ,fresh sourdough bread and other goodies. We don’t ride horses but enjoyed watching others do that and my husband witnessed a riding lesson. Laurie was a fund of knowledge as was Tanya. There is nothing they don’t know about horses. We can recommend the Garfield Pub for dinner. The food was delicious. We explored nearby Maryknoll and other towns and can confirm that Mikado Park is a great place to experience warm hospitality and a peaceful stay. We had a lovely time there.

Nothing short of amazing! From the minute we stepped into the place we were mesmerised by the beauty and sense of relaxation and calm that swept over us. Mikado Park makes you feel miles away from the rest of the world, both physically and mentally. And you feel privileged that Tanya and Laurie allow you into a slice of their paradise for a short amount of time. They are very warming and welcoming, and will not bat an eyelid to go out of their way to make your stay above and beyond. Do yourself, and particularly your soul, a favour and stay at Mikado Park, for as long as your circumstances allow (that’s if we haven’t beaten you to booking it out again!). This place is food for your soul.
