First time riding in a single engine plane. We came here to ride with a friend’s son who had just obtained his pilot license. This is an awesome airfield. Getting here was easy and the parking was even more convenient. Getting into the airport was a breeze as our friend is a flying club member with access code to the airfield. Once we were inside, our friend led us to the assigned plane for the ride. After pre-flight check, a jet fuel truck was called to refuel the plane. When all safety checks were done, we got on the plane and strapped on the seatbelts. Our friend’s son then started his check list for starting the plane. Once the engine’s started, we taxied to the runway. This airport has a lot of fly hobbyists here on this nice day. It was not too busy when we took off. Once we got on the runway, we were cleared to take off in a couple of minutes. The take off was very smooth with our Cessna and the feeling assenting into the San Diego sky was amazing. The altitude was only around 1200 feet and then descended to 500 feet into the Bay Area sky. Seeing La Jolla Shore and Sunset Cliff from the sky was spectacular. We filmed the strong waves hitting the shores and took many photos of the beaches and buildings below. This was our first time seeing San Diego from the sky above and gave us a great appreciate of the greatness of this city. After circling around the Bay Area and then crossed the Coronado bridge, we headed back to Montgomery Executive Airfield by going over the San Diego Airport. The landing was also very smooth. Since landed during sunset, we stayed a bit longer after our ride and got to see all the great planes parked in this airport. Today’s ride was great accompanied with perfect weather. Thanks to our friend for arranging this unforgettable airplane ride experience.

I live right on Tecolote canyon and I have Autism. With Autism I have really sensitive hearing and it is very hard for me to do my college homework even with ear plugs every day because the airplanes that take off and arrive from Montgomery airport tend to fly all day long and every day. I downloaded an app to help me track where the airplanes are coming from and where they are going. By the look of it 90% of the airplanes are coming from Montgomery airport and they tend to fly in circles then come back to the airport. I know people enjoy flying airplanes but come on save your money, gas, earth, and my hearing by flying a little less or at least far away from Claremont. Please I am begging you all

Awesome airport, with lots of history. They stored newly built B-24s here back in WW2 before sending them to the war, back when it was called Gibbs Auxiliary Field. I used to come here as a kid, and I still like to park in the lot near the entrance on my lunch break and watch planes takeoff and land.

This place is a diamond in the rough. I obtain my private pilot's license back in 1998 just before 9/11 and the experience has been absolutely unbelievable ever since flying to Vegas Catalina Island Palm Springs Etc the best move I ever made with my life. to get a pilot's license

KMYF is the home airport to Mia Noi. It is a small, friendly airport - yet one of the busiest GA airports. The main FBOs are Crownair and Coast. Fuel is not cheap, but then again this airport is close to the heart of San Diego with great access to the I-15 and 163.

The planes are dropping lead on all the residents in the area and small children at the schools around here. This should not be allowed near residential areas. This airport needs to either close or change their fuel to clean energy. The noise is obnoxious too.

DHS Operations instead of taxing or like everybody else landing at the near end of runway, gain speed and take off again, actually turns around on the same runway he landed on, goes back to the beginning of it and proceeds to take off. So

It's has always been a nice airport. I have been watching everything that goes on here since I was a little girl. Casa Machado restaurant is also very good that is located right off the transient parking.

I really like montgomery. even though there’s a lot of traffic sometimes the dual runways and great Air Traffic Controllers make it easy. everything is in great condition here. Super great location too.

  • Jimmy's Wild Adventures

The place can get a little busy but the controllers are awesome! The fbos are more than accommodating. Great place to stay for the night, no Landing fees and a very reasonable overnight tie down fee

It's an experience of a lifetime! Took my wife on our 17th anniversary for a tour of San Diego! It's was an experience of a lifetime! That's where we were married! Carlton Hills Country Club!

This is not the Marriott Marquis. The correct address is 333 W Harbor Dr. San Diego, CA. I searched for Marriott Marquis and this address came up. Looks like it might be fixed now.

  • Melanie Melendez

Friendly helpful staff and they drove our rental car straight to the plane! We got in late as they were about to close in 15min. They even gave us a dinner recommendation.

  • Rod Dillard

Nice airport seems to be quite.....You can see this airport from aero drive.across the street from the fire and ambulance department off of the 163 highway.

  • Leo Miles

Noise, noise, noise all day long, you're strongly detested by the local community. Essential aircraft are okay, but in no way hobbyist, sad.

  • Stanislav Tarnovsky

Noisy little planes flying all day, making the whole neighborhood miserable. Stop ruthless noise pollution in San Diego!!!

  • C Dec

The staff are all professional, cordial and capable. We enjoy their support and service. We believe others will also.

Frontier airlines offered me a meal on a short flight to los angles i was surprised because the flight was short.

  • Dann Davis

Great airport, easy access to most of San Diego. Will be even better when the new FBOs are completed.

  • Chuck Coffman

Very nice FBO. Pleasant people, nice snacks. More importantly, the price of jet fuel was reasonable.
