"An amazing transformation of what was a neglected and derelict open space"
"Imaginative landscaping following the meanderings of the Silkstream through the park with bridges and a mini "wetland" with boardwalk has not only reinvigorated but practically reinvented this area into a pleasant destination"
"Lovely park at the back of Colindalr Station, nice area for a family get together, play sports and generally for a nice east stroll"
"Have driven by several times, but decided to visit just before sunset for a walk"
"Nice little park with a small playground that is often spoilt by antisocial behaviour (drinkers leaving empty bottles and cans)"
An amazing transformation of what was a neglected and derelict open space. Great facilities and children's playground, absolutely necessary to serve the surrounding community which has expanded ten-fold. Hopefully the tragic incidents that have occurred over the past year won't be repeated through increased security and patrols (although that wasn't evident when I last visited). However the eagerly awaited and anticipated cafe and outside area is a major disappointment! Usually closed and uninspiring when it's not. Not sure if there are toilet facilities either or they're not accessible when the cafe is closed? Barnet Council please step up and finish what you started and get some professional people in to manage it!
Imaginative landscaping following the meanderings of the Silkstream through the park with bridges and a mini "wetland" with boardwalk has not only reinvigorated but practically reinvented this area into a pleasant destination. A small playground and ease for disabled access with smooth walkways. The stream banks have been cleared of accumulated suffocating undergrowth and debris ; the results impressive. Kudos to the Council. More's the pity despite the provision of bins here the area blighted with litter, some dangerous.
Lovely park at the back of Colindalr Station, nice area for a family get together, play sports and generally for a nice east stroll. Afterwards a selection of places to eat before heading home.
Playground
Kids friendly play area, plenty of equipment with a cafe nearby.
Picnic area
Seats and tables set up for people to enjoy food in the sun, or just sit on the grass if people aren't playing football.
Have driven by several times, but decided to visit just before sunset for a walk. Its a clean, tidy open space for the community with plenty of activities going on. There's a skate park, outdoor and indoor gym, children's play area, basketball courts, community hub and a cafe. Lovely to see a space created especially to keep the youth occupied. Hope more boroughs do the same.
Nice little park with a small playground that is often spoilt by antisocial behaviour (drinkers leaving empty bottles and cans). The park is being refurbished and is now closed until January 2020. Hopefully, a new look will make a big difference to the community and discourage people who have nothing better to do than spoil it for others. Update. The new park is beautiful
We needed a park where we can relax, switch off for maybe a moment from the outside world. Montrose is a little oasis in what has become a bustling neighbourhood. We love having evening picnics there watching the small but beautifully curated wildlife area where different species of birds grace us with a visit. Please...please...please do not litter anywhere.
This is one of my favourite parks!! There’s usually quite a few people though it gets crazy dark at night— this honestly makes it feel a bit unsafe for women, but during the daytime it’s a lovely place to hang out and walk your dog. Wouldn’t recommend walking through it at night, not because it’s sketchy but because it’s so insanely dark that you might trip.
has a wide variety of amenities such as a cafe, youth centre, playground, gym and more. paths are flat and well spaced out, lots of area to play football, there are bike routes and beautiful scenery in the day. I don’t recommend going at night though because it’s quite dark
Visited for the skatepark. Great park! Really good for first timers and more advanced skaters. It’s a shame so many parents with their underaged kids allow them to treat it like a playground when there is one about 30/40 meters away… that’s the only thing that lets it down
Great local park with plenty of activities. Skate park, tennis courts, basketball court, football goals (although there's no nets) and table tennis tables.. Only downside to the table tennis tables is that they are in an open area so wind really affects play.
Following a recent refurbishment, silkstream park has turned in to a calming place to relax in with plenty of budding wildlife. The council have created beach areas, wildflower planting with bridges across the silkstream and a new childrens play area.
This is a very big ,beautiful and amazing park. There is facilities for playing badminton, basketball and other sports. It has cafeteria and has too many old beautiful trees etc, it's very neat and clean. It's good to be used for any aged group.
My older daughter loves the skate board park. I love the path way (I think it’s called Millennium walk) it has markers to indicate how far you walk/jog/run, path way is quite wide and it quite flat throughout but has a small steep area not
A very pleasant experience...this is what this park offers. Nice paths to walk, even skate. A little stream passes through it and there is a small pond too with a few ducks, both having little bridges on them. The play area for children
Loved it! Easy for a manual wheelchair user and their carer. Plenty of space, easy to get over the bridges, seats for my boyfriend to sit on. We will definitely be back. Forgot we were in London for a while! Easy to park too.
Such a lovely park with lots of sports to do. Basketball court, outdoor gym, football posts, skating area and lots of picnic benches. Also has a cafe in the middle . Although I don’t see it open all the time.
One of the best parks around, looks like it has been recently modernised. Has kids playground, skateboard area, football, basketball, exercise equipment, plenty open space and is clean and well kept.
Cool little skatepark, nothing too big, got a bunch of quarter Pipes, a round bar, ledge, a bank all the basics you want for a small local park (very happy there is finally a skatepark near me)
Excellent park, has a skatepark, dog friendly, football pitch/ outdoor gym/ping-pong(no need for booking), kids playground, tennis court(bioking needed), a nice stream of water passing by.
Lovely park to walk your dog.
Playground
Nice playground for kids.
Dog-friendliness
Lots of dog walkers.
Picnic area
Loads of spaces and benches for picnics.
Love spending time here, walking over the yellow bridges, you can seat on the large decking area over silk stream and there is a large playground if you have kids and skate park.
quite a nice, relaxing place to walk around, very spacious and is close to a good youth centre, also there is a skating park there as well very nice place, would recommend
2 tennis courts are often empty with gate unlocked. A cafe nearby. Free ping pong tables and gym machinery.
Playground
Standard type. Roller skate facility too.
Large open space. Decent playground for the kids. There's a community building nearby but have never seen it open. Would be good if there were toilet facilities
Close to Barnet and Southgate college , skyboard space available, large park for sports activities. And dog walk around. Relaxation, enjoying …
Very nice love the greenery. Nice for families
Playground
Nice play ground but not much for toddlers more for Older kids apart from the swings
Local park that has a lovely kids playground and lots of great planting, small pond and plenty of ducks. Great for kids to cycle and scooter.
Very organised and tranquile park with many things to do in leisure times and with family especially the playground field and the ducks lake.
Large community park with skateboard and football fields as well as basketball court. There is a great little youngsters playing area too.
It's such a big park, having variety of stuff for both kids and adults like swings and the jin too.there is one public resting place also.
The park is spacious and well-maintained, with plenty of green areas and benches to relax. Always nice to bike her during my lunch break!
Nice local park. When not crowed with outsider having a weekend party and leaving the rubbish everywhere.
Playground
Always full
Very pleasant place to rest, read or do exercise. Being with children or simple walk around maybe a lovely picnic... …
Lovely place lots of different things to do plus there is a skate park and loads of space to have a picnic and kids can play safely
I just miss the old park's previous appearance before the designers and developers transformed it into a modern industrial style.
Lovely park, outdoor gym which I use regularly, cafe and tennis courts, table tennis tables, basket ball nets, skating Park too.
Good skate park with a mixture of younger and skilled riders. Overall quite low but there is a good table/box which was enjoyed
Very pleasant open space park, with fields for sports and good for joggers. There is a Hub cafe, but doesn't have much variety.
Newly built. Good roller sketing Facilities.Convenient to get to by public transport or driving.Parking available weekends.
Quiet nice park. you see many fun fairs during school holidays. Few helicopters landed on 18/08/22. Not sure why..
Very relaxing so calming watching the ducks in the lake and entertaining never seen so many as this weekend
Park is always clean. A lot of businesses there and lights so the park can actually be used in the night.
We go there frequently and enjoy our time playing, picnic or some exercises.
Playground…
More
Nice clean park with good outdoor gym facilities, tennis courts, table tennis and basketball court.
A really beautiful Park A favourite for me Has ducks large area for kids to scoot or adults too
What is the point of having two gates in the playground if only one is open (all the time!!!) ?
Best small park in the area. Playground for the kids is available and street parking for free!
A plain and tidy medium size park with a variety of facilities within close walking distance.
Standard park with good area for kids to play. Very crowded specially during weekends
Great sectioned out play area, walking paths are looped and clean
It's a nice park for leisure walks or runs or small activities.
My family likes this park. Is clean and is spacious
Nice tranquil place in otherwise busy Colindale
Nice place to spend time with friends and pets!
Lovely place to take the whole family …
