I had an absolutely fantastic time when I went with all the wonderful native animals, You guys have an awesome collection of Critters and great Enclosures and Encounters for them too, I was very impressed with that. Unfortunately when I went into the gift shop I saw they sold Hats made of Kangaroo Leather, when I Emailed them about this along with facts about why they Shouldn't support the Vile Kangaroo Industry (Largest kill of land based Wildlife in the World) they replied quickly and told me they have removed the hats from sale which satisfied me, however I learnt recently that they continue to feed Kangaroo meat to their Quolls. While I understand that Quolls are indeed Carnivorous, I just Don't think that a Wildlife SANCTUARY who strives to Conserve Australia's wildlife should use products that come directly from the profit-driven shooting of our native Wildlife. Just remember that 100 years ago, Koalas were also treated in a similar fashion to the modern exploitation of Kangaroos. I really hope the Folks at Moonlit look into this more because I otherwise had a really good time here.

Went here with my wife and 4yo daughter and we were all pleasantly surprised at how good the experience was. Not the biggest sanctuary ever but that's not a problem because there is plenty to see. Enjoyed seeing the Koalas and also the free roaming kangaroos and wallabys, which you can feed. All seemed friendly and since we went early they were in the mood for eating. I feel the later you go they might not be so hungry. There is also a show which was small but great because you were up close to the animals. The barking owl was great flying around. The lake is also very nice to walk around whilst also feeding the ducks. Loved that the place wasn't crowded as it's quite open. Car parking isn't paved so if there's rain you might get as little muddy, but there are plenty of spots. Recommend coming if you can and going to lunch around the area since there are lots of food options.

A mid sized conservation park with activities suitable for animal lovers of all ages. Reached at around 11am and the older children rushed to the reptiles enclosure before continuing with the python encounter at 1130. This was an interesting experience as the children were quite scared initially. Moved on to the Koala session where a paid session allows one to take photos with the Koala up close. Our session was with cyclops who was very cooperative and friendly. Also spotted here was a very active Koala who was pacing up and down its enclosure. The keepers were very knowledgeable and the children listened to each of them with great interest. The highlight was the feeding and petting of the kangaroos. It was fun seeing the larger kangaroos hopping over and how they interacted with one another. Point to note: Lots of king geese, water hen and ducks roaming around in addition to wallabies and kangaroos.

My family and I both went in the day and also took part in the night tour. We got to “roam” free during the day visit, and it was relaxed and fun. The kangaroos and wallabies were free-ranging and there were many wild birds too. Feeding the kangaroos and wallabies is highly recommended. During the night tour, Sam was really nice and gave us in depth introductions into each kind of animal. The nocturnal animals were also more active and we got to go behind the scenes. We were also able to feed a few more animals. Overall, it was a really fun experience. We got to meet many exotic native animals in natural enclosures, including Tasmanian devil and koalas. I strongly recommend this place.

Exceeded our expectations and we had a wonderful day. Get there in the morning for a quieter experience. Loved the wombat talk, will attend other talks next time we visit. The scenery is lovely and natural, the animals look happy and each one has a genuine reason for being at the sanctuary rather than zoo animals that could otherwise be in the wild. There is a huge variety and we saw everything except the echidna which was hiding. Everywhere is clean and tidy and easily accessible with a pram. Fun to feed the ducks and wallabies. Nice cafe area, good parking and clean toilets. We stayed about 3.5 hours which was enough including eating lunch. We will be back thanks a lot

My family and I have just returned from the night time tour. Despite being cold and a bit of drizzle, the overall tour experience was great. We had a large group of about 20 we were split up into two groups and were given a small container of food for the animals and a lantern to light up the path. The tour guide was great. She interacted very well with the children and adults and answered all the questions una very friendly manner. The animals were very friendly and the kids loved feeding the kangaroos, Sugar gliders (my personal favourite) wallabies, possums etc. Overall it was a fantastic experience and we all thoroughly enjoyed it.

We had a superb time at Moonlit Sanctuary. We visited on a Monday at opening time and it was perfect. No lines, limited crowds, happy & hungry animals tucking into their breakfast, engaging keeper talks every 30mins and the highlights of handfeeding the wallabies and the show arena were fantastic! The grounds are not as expansive as other zoos and farms but there is enough there for a memorable 2-3 hours. Tip: Pack snacks and/or a lunch box and grab a bench along the water or food available at the cafe to enjoy on the deck. Chips were yum!

Loved watching the cute animals. Though it would be nice if some people behaved less demanding around wallabies and kangaroos - the food that one can buy at the entrance isn't always in high demand by already well fed animals, so some people just push behind the barriers and try to force the animals to eat so that they can get a photo of themselves or their kids - very sad to watch. That aside, it was lovely to meet a koala, Cyclops, who was happily munching on some eucalyptus and the wombats were so adorable!

We love Moonlit Sanctuary. It is a special place where our native wildlife are cared for with understanding and love. The encounters with different species are very informative and unique. What a gift to be able to hold and feed these beautiful animals while the very knowledgeable keepers gives you information on each individual animals requirements, habitat etc. Moonlit is a relaxing and peaceful place where the animals look comfortable and happy. A very special place. ❤️

We went on the night tour Tuesday night, we had a new guide that was very knowledgeable with the support of her experienced colleague. Our group was 3 couples. It was very important to follow instructions as the park is shared with wild animals that love to be included in the tour. It took approx 1.5hrs Our favourite was the Barking Owl and feeding the kangaroos, wallabies and sugar gliders - all very gentle. You could hear that they truely cared about the conserving a safe and friendly habitat for their animals. Really enjoyed it! Thank you

A beautiful sanctuary and such a wonderful experience for people of all ages! So special to be able to learn about our delightful Australian native wildlife in such an up close & personal way. Highly recommend the night tour to everyone! Then come back and enjoy it during the day too! We have been coming for years, and will continue to come and bring as many friends & family to enjoy it with us as we can. Keep up the great work Moonlit Sanctuary!

This sanctuary indeed not too big. 2 hours is sufficient. There were 2 highlights for us in this sanctuary 1) encounter with koala. AUD25 pp. Getting so close with koala and able to rub it's back. Fur so smooth and comfortable. 5 stars 2) loft of kangaroo hanging around. Need to buy food AUD3 for kangaroo to lure them coning near. The kangaroo here were tame and gentle. 5 stars There is a cafe selling lunch. Food wise was OK.

Great place to visit to see Australian wildlife in a calm and peaceful setting with some animals roaming free. Nice to see the conversation aspect being taught in the keeper talks. Really enjoyed it and the cafe had reasonable prices too so no need for a packed lunch. The kangaroo like to check out the cafe too sometimes! Great little place. Next time would do one of the special individual tours with the wombats or dingos.

Brilliant day spent here. It was an awesome experience to get close to animals and feeding the kangaroos. The sanctuary had animals native to Australia and has regular keeper talks on all its wildlife. The koala encounter was brief, yet a truly worthwhile thing to do as not many places offer the chance to get so close to them. Highly recommend if you happen to be in Victoria. Friendly and knowledgable staff as well.

This place is fantastic! Although small it is well worth a visit. It's interactive being able to feed the kangaroos & ducks, the animals are spaced out but not too far to walk. The keepers put on amazing talks which are informative but also very entertaining. Great coffee shop that overlooks the pond & all the staff so friendly. It's family friendly & very reasonably priced, well worth a visit

We did the night tour with Sam, it was incredible! The animals were friendly and very food motivated, our tour guide was passionate about the animals and care they receive, plus he was an absolute wealth of knowledge. There were plenty of sanitizing stations and the up close experience with a small group (no more than 16) was incredible. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this experience.

This was my second visit at Moonlit sanctuary and it did not disappoint. Last night I went with a group of friends for the night tour. Callum was the best tour guide. His knowledge of the animals was quite impressive and answered all of our questions. The experience of getting up close with the animals to give them dinner is like no other. I will definitely be taking the family next time.

Not that big of a place, but perfect if you want to experience feeding and interacting with kangaroos. Lots of them roam free and you don't need to pay anything extra for the experience, just a few dollars for their food. The koalas were surprisingly active when I went and it was cute to observe them eating. It does get muddy after it rains so best not to wear particularly nice shoes when the weather's gloomy.

We buy our Melbourne family a Zoo pass each year and when we visit usually do the zoo. This time decided to visit Moonlit as they hadn't been. It was fantastic!! The conservation talk is worth every second and interesting! Loved the owl, sugar glider and the deceptively friendly dingo. We would visit again

Decent sized sanctuary with lots of animals to visit. Very good value for money compared to other similar sized more expensive sanctuaries around Australia. Kangaroos have rest areas where they can go if they don't feel social which is quite nice. There's free talks and paid encounters you can do there as well!

Not worth a visit hence do not recommend. Entry fee is kinda expensive for so little animals. Snacks for kangaroos cost $3. For $29 entrance fee, there are very little animals to see. Didn’t see much kangaroos and wallabies as all of them are sleeping around 2pm. All my kangaroo snack went to the birds.

We sat outside and ate a hamburger and chips with a hot chocolate. Can't go wrong here.

I just loved it. Seeing the koalas so close, they are the cutest creatures ever. You can feed the kangaroos and wallabies. They have two Tasmania devils called Tim and Tam, which are part of a program to help them reproduce because they are endangered species. I believe that this type of sanctuaries do a great job in teaching people about local wildlife.

Hidden gem. I went to see Mary, the resident common wombat and when you book it says if Mary doesn't want to come out of her burrow then you get your money back, they don't make her perform for visitors. It's quite a relaxed sanctuary that feels like they put the animals first and you're their guest. Well worth the visit

One of my favourite places to visit in VIC. We have come here multiple times before, but yesterday was a special highlight as it was our first private night tour.

A small place with not many kind of animals, and far away from Melbourne City, but, you can touch koalas and feed kangaroos, so it's worth 1.5 hour drive
