My name is Irem Ucler. I am a 2019 graduate of Mt Hira College and have been apart of our community since a very young age. My siblings, cousins and family members have also attended Mt Hira and been part of the community for several years. I have also had individuals of my family work and volunteer at the school and are apart of our beautiful community and have always been very proud to belong to it. However, recently our school and community have transformed into a negative environment and is developing a poor reputation. Mt Hira and our community would pride itself on a warm and welcoming nature but as time continues this is no longer environment that is present. Many parents, students, teenagers and even elders amongst the community have begun discussing the negative impacts this is having on our community and morale. As a community we are becoming aware of why this is. Members have begun exchanging their experiences, knowledge and information regarding the school specifically its poor leadership, especially the college’s principal - Toni. Over the last couple years she had been principal students, parents and staff have been treated poorly and disrespectfully. Mt Hira is an Islamic college and should make sure the principal adheres to the values and morals in Islam, however, unfortunately Ms Toni Pikos-Sallie embodies none of those values in her character which is truly an embarrassment. Her treatment and character is driving students, parents, staff and majority of the community away and will result in the downfall of the community. Although she may deny these claims, many individuals have evidence! This is not slander, this is not bullying and this is not defamation. This is unfortunately the reality of many people. We as a community have worked and are still working to make Mt Hira the best education and environment for the generations to come, however, when individuals who act like dictators are given power it results in downfall. I and others are fed up with unfair treatment. We are sick of witnessing others be treated unprofessionally and disrespectfully. She acts and works in a manner that is rude, inconsistent and unethical. Why should she remain employed? Many parents are considering pulling their students out of the college including the ELC as they cannot stand her and her character. But why should they? As a community we will rectify this! Mt Hira is no longer the safe, fun and loving place and there’s one bully to blame - Toni Pikos-Sallie. She is known to play the victim when confronted or even worse makes threats and acts aggressively. She has also been known to act oblivious and unaware. Our community will not stands for this and will ensure change will happen or else Mt Hira College will eventually see its down fall. She silences people with threats, ultimatums and other unethical methods. Members should not fear her anymore as we are beginning to unify. But Mt Hira needs change and we need it now!

I am unable to reply directly to the response therefore I am replying like this. I can assure you no statement or story regarding this is false and this clearly proves my comment regarding the obliviousness. She in fact is the individual that is tarnishing my community. The community helping my family is the reason I feel so passionate about this. We both know that the community is not rejecting this, but they are supporting this notion or being silenced from fear. I would appreciate it if you stopped falsely speaking on behalf of my community and staff! There is no “group” instead it is the majority of the community! In whose opinion has she allegedly achieved the best outcomes for the College? Sounds a little biased to me! Considering the turn over rate has been alarming high, I doubt your statement regarding staff satisfaction is true and would love to see real evidence. Many teachers work tirelessly for the school and community yet are not treated as if they do. It is not due to Ms Toni that the school is experiencing increased enrolments - it is from staff who contribute far more. Credit regarding ATAR should be given to the hard working students and teachers and not stolen by the principal. Our community is not blessed but instead fear for the schools future due to her! We pray instead that she learns from her actions and finds a better way to treat others. It has been mentioned to many that Ms Toni encompasses characteristics those with narcissism possess and your reply proves exactly that. All I am reading is Ms Toni is claiming to have done this or is taking credit for that, how pathetic. Yes, I have never met you, and that I take as a blessing from Allah. However, I have seen you, I have heard you speak, I’ve read your statements, I’ve witnessed the heartbreak, anxiety you caused. People that have met you and have had interactions with you can provide you with even more to support this!

I graduated from this school this year and honestly, i spent this year being bullied by the three stooges. the school did nothing time and time again. the principle put her hand in my mums face and was disregarding her honest concerns, (she can’t deny this i have video evidence ) She exposed another students private medical information in front of others parents. I had a students parent (grown adult) call my private phone number and threaten to come to my house, call the police on me ect as she continued to verbally abuse me (17 year old girl) she also contacted multiple of my family members and distant relatives. when i expressed my anxiety about the threats, the school said “i understand why she would do it” and did nothing to ensure my safety or the safety of others involved. The reason behind her threatening me was that her 19 year old daughter during school screamed at me across the hall and swore at me profusely (have three teachers who witnessed and reported the incident along side two classes of students) Again the school did nothing. Unfortunately there is so much more, this only covered a couple of weeks and i have evidence. If you want to see if this school is really suitable for your child speak to the teachers who left due to the principles ongoing toxic behaviour and the senior school students (including the year 12s who graduated this year) It’s embarrassing that this woman (principle) can preach respect but doesn’t give it in return. can’t forget the time she said the n word in front of 5 year 12 and preached how it’s okay for white ppl to say it too. There is so much more to say but this is getting to long.

Mt Hira College is a great school. I am very grateful for the decision that I made for my kids. My children are happier and show enthusiasm to go to school. Teachers are very kind and professional, they teach students responsibility respect, and honesty by acting the same way, and encouraging them by disturbing awards for them. Come to religious Education, all the teachers in R.E do their best to teach students, their faith. Every day my kids come home with a different question about Islam which makes me so happy, then I can explain more. Last year my oldest son has start fasting, but it was very hard to convince him to start fasting. This year is the only first year, and the second term being in school, and he learns a lot about the Islam Alhamdulilah, he didn’t ask why, but on the opposite side, he was very happy to participate in pasting, whole month, with enthusiasm. All grades go to school and the R.E department for putting such a great effort to teach our kids about Islam, may Allah rewards them. I got three children as every Muslim parent I also what my children to have knowledge about their lovely faith in Islam and am very thankful for Allah to accept and choose my kids to be part of this beautiful school. My children told me that they have a beautiful mosque that is part of the school and they go there to do their prayer, which is beautiful, May Allah gives them more energy to do more of the great work they do.

I've had the privilege of working in various schools, and without a doubt, Mt. Hira College stands out as a highlight of my teaching experience. The leadership team's support and approachability have significantly contributed to my positive experience here. On days when challenges arise, my domain leader, particularly Ms. Natasha, consistently checks in and provides invaluable support. Mr. Cihan and Dr. Toni exemplify an open-door policy despite their demanding roles in school administration. Their accessibility to address both minor and major concerns creates an atmosphere of comfort and collaboration among the staff. Dr. Toni's ability as an exceptional leader is truly inspiring. Her impact extends beyond the school environment; I've attended her Islamic talks, and her humility, empathy, and gentleness shine through. In both her personal and professional capacities, she demonstrates a sense of compassion that leaves a lasting impression. I’m grateful for the opportunity to contribute to this school. The positive experience has even influenced my husband's decision to join the Mt. Hira team, having observed the fulfillment I've found here. The students' respectful behavior and good manners reflect the school's values, creating a distinct atmosphere compared to other schools. The combined efforts of the staff contribute to a positive environment that fosters growth and positivity.

Mt hira itself is such a beautiful school! Personally I have not been a student of this amazing school but I have had 9 fellow family members with 7 remaining in this school. I have played sports with this school back when I myself was still in high school and have nothing but good words to say about both students and teachers. I have attended this school multiple times, going all the way back to the very first day one of my family members started at mt hira college. (Orientation day back in 2013). Canteen lady Mrs Dilek with such a big smile on her face giving out suck and cheese toasties and making everyone feel so welcomed not only the students but parents aswell! Attending school concerts almost ever year along side performance and get togethers in the school hall. And lastly attending to pick up family members from the school with my Aunty being able to sit on the benches beside the playground with other family members having conversations meanwhile waiting for our students to finish school. Not only did we get to pick up the kids from school and see their lovely faces which we’ve missed all day but get to part take in socialising with other parents/guardians. Mt hira has been an extremely welcoming school!! Coming from an outsider who hasn’t even been a student of this school, mt hira itself is an awesome school and is well recommended!

I am absolutely appalled at the recent changes occurring in the ELC center. As a parent who has 2 children enrolled, I can tell you that I was very happy in the beginning and would have given 5 stars not long ago. But with recent decisions that may be a result of internal politics, sadly our children are the fodder in this power play. Amazing teachers are resigning, their replacements are less than suitable and are poor substitutes for the standards that were set before them, and the amount of upheaval and changes that have occurred MID YEAR is very unacceptable. The amount of discourse and confusion caused has had direct effects on our little ones - who should be given top priority and stability during such integral years. Instead, they have been subjected to more changes than ever and are given the disservice of losing amazing educators because the school is unable to retain them. Would I recommend this school? The short answer is no, I would not. It seems private school-like Politics have won in this institution - which is the biggest disappointment of all.

As a close friend of parents and teachers who have attended and taught at Mt Hira College, it saddens me to see the state of the school. Hearing the horror stories that the teachers are putting up with sound absurd, yet it is happening! The new principal has no sympathy towards her staff members, teachers are yelled at and abused, they lose their jobs without any concrete reasons or evidence, how can we expect good teaching from teachers who are treated this way? Constantly in fear of losing their job. We have lost valuable leaders and staff due to the behaviour of this one individual. When will it stop, what needs to happen for something to change? The fact that, real reviews like mine, are being treated as fake shows how delusional the leadership is at the college. If something doesn’t change soon the college is heading towards a path of no return, and it saddens me to see this beautiful school, that was once an integral part of the community become nothing due to the actions of one person, the principal.

My daughter has completed 7.5 years at this school and I am so glad I enrolled her here. This school is predominantly Turkish and we are not of that nationality but I have found the community very respectful and full of culture. Mount Hira College offers religious instructions in Islam to students and observes Islamic calendar events but it is not aligned to any political agenda and is very accepting of other religions. Not all teachers are Muslim and the students recognise other religious events. Mt Hira has been exceptionally supportive of my daughter and have absolutely made every effort to help her in her time of need. I am forever grateful for all that they have done for her.

I had to make this account as I feared to write the review with my own identity, I do not know how this school is still running with how teaches are being bullied and treated. At this point I feel like the school is under threat by Toni as I don't know how one can remain in their job and position when they've done all the nasty things she's done, from bullying to putting under pressure to shoving someone into depression and anxiety. Leadership is either under threat or they just don't care about the work environment they've shoved everyone into. Parents, please do not send your students into a work environment like that.

I wasnt happy the school in 2022, as there were so many issue with bullying that wernt resovled. Dispite speaking to the principle by both parents and students, no student should be exposed to bullying. I dont think the principal is qualified to work at any school.or with children at any level. spoke to member off the board in november, since then i still havent received phone call back. anyway ,good luck all the best to all students.hope no student in 2023 has any issues with bullying. may Allah protect you all from bullying... ###22 june 2023 still no reply

Among the numerous bad decisions made by the new principal at mt hira, the greatest loss was definitely the loss of capable leaders at our college, with the loss of these teachers we now see the absence of a school concert, camps for junior school, school assmeblies being held one two occasions a term, lack of awards being handed out to students and so much more! Toni’s personal agenda against these wonderful teachers are having a bad affect on students morale

With a bully of a principal named Toni I would never want to teach here or send kids to be educated here!! School is a place where parents trust to send their kids to get an education and for teachers to enjoy teaching after years of study and practice to get there and perform their job and not be bullied and thrown into depression and put under pressure. This is atrocious.

Akla ve duygulara hitap eden ender bir okul. Sadece maddenin öncelendiği ve vicdanın, ahlakın, sevginin unutulduğu bir gün bu güzel okul daha iyi anlaşılacaktır. A rare school that appeals to the mind and the emotions. A day when only matter is prioritized and conscience, morality and love are forgotten this beautiful school will be better understood.
