Mov’in Bed is a wonderful experience. It is an outdoor bed cinema situated in the middle of the Entertainment Quarter in Sydney’s Moore Park. It is such a fun concept and perfect for date night. You can comfortably fit a maximum of three people per blow up bed and everyone gets their own pillow and a quilt/doona to share. Booking tickets online was easy but make sure to do it early because they often sell out. You can also pre order food online or order from the canteens when you get there. The food gets freshly made just for you and delivered straight to your bed in no time at all. The two restaurants you can order from are Fratelli Fresh who offer things like burgers, pasta, pizza and fries. You can also order from The Bavarian; hot pretzels, pork buns, cheese kransky or a very delicious hot cinnamon sugar pretzel doughnut with salted caramel dipping sauce. They also offer alcoholic drinks, soft drinks, popcorn, chocolate and lollies. There was also a Ben and Jerry’s food truck located in there. You could order and pay for your icecream from people who came around to your bed; they would then deliver the icecream to you during the movie. They even had a delicious dairy free option. If there is heavy rain or a thunderstorm predicted during the movie, you will receive a text message and email information you of the cancellation and rescheduling of the movie to a future date. This happened to me twice. Mov’in Bed’s communication is excellent and the whole experience was a lot of fun. I can’t wait to do it again. #letsguide #datenight
I have had a terrible experience with Mov'in Bed. I booked a session last summer which had to be rescheduled, understandably due to the weather. The weather was continually bad on the 3 occasions that my film was scheduled and before I knew it the season had ended with no ability for my film to be viewed. As this is not their fault, I simply requested a refund as the season was over and my film was constantly cancelled. I did not receive a reply for months, regardless of my countless follow up emails. Only recently did I receive a reply from staff members who assured they would sort it out for me, proceeded to not reply and then finally when receiving a reply, they informed me that they can't find the booking and they have had a lot of staff turnover so they don't know how to trace my payment. Poor customer service. Poor management. I have never felt the need to write a bad review on a company until now, where I have had to follow up staff so many times, to still obtain no result. I still don't have my money back! I do not recommend dealing with this company as they do not take care of their customers.
This was a Valentines surprise for me from my boyfriend and it was great. The beds were super comfy, we got a welcome drink (which was bubbles) and even a little gift of 2 extra glasses of bubbles (as it was Valentines). There was food there that was available to be ordered and brought over to your bed. I ordered an ice cream from Ben & Jerry's which came about 30 mins into the movie which was great! Only downsides were that the toilets, that were close to the venue, got closed off and had to walk about 5 mins to another bathroom. Security were lovely and were super apologetic about this and were super helpful with directions. The main disappointment was the choice of movie. It was a French film called Paris, Je T'aime. In my opinion, it was not the best film to be showing on Valentines Day out of all the romantic / romantic comedy films that are out there. People actually left the movie & venue within 30 minutes as it was not what was expected. Something classic like Notting Hill would have been a much better choice. Maybe something to think about for next year? Will definitely go back again!
Great experience... first of all, congratulations for the commitment with your clients, on the day we had the movie was suppose to rain (it didn’t), but they still send us a message changing the date with a lot of time before we even prepare to go, and for that I’m glad, didn’t ruined our Saturday night ... secondly, amazing time schedule, everything went pretty smooth in terms of opening and movie start, also a a great drinks and food service, that delivers it to your bed, and great quality of sound and image, even being by the side of a working game stadium, pretty romantic night with no problems at all, I wish this were the standard movie for shore, but for obviously reasons it’s only possible on the summer, with a great range of new and old movies, you absolutely will find something your in to.
This is a fun experience! And I highly recommend it. The beds are numbered but it's first come first serve. With any fun experience like this you are going to have to pay a premium for food but it was delivered to you in bed which is amazing! From a review perspective I think the speakers could be bigger/louder and on the night I attended there was a pop up concert right next door which made things interesting and the screen swayed a bit in the wind, but that added to the ambience it had a feeling of watching an movie in a backyard, look forward to going again next time. ( Update: just saw an email, was offered a free ticket due to the noise, amazing customer service) make sure you read the email the parking is free if you buy food etc! They can validate your ticket (2019)
This takes outdoor cinema to a whole new level! It may not have the views of other outdoor cinemas in Sydney but it has all the comfort! The beds are super comfy with fresh clean linens, plump pillows and a doona and there's little tables that light up during the movie. Doors open at 7pm but there's no crazy rush for beds and wherever you choose there's a decent view. There's a really relaxed vibe and although there are 150 beds it doesn't seem busy nor were there any queues at the bar. There's a reasonably priced selection of drinks (and plenty of chilled tap water) at the bar and you can bring your own snacks/cold picnic. We'd go again in a heartbeat!
I truly appreciate the ambitiance and the beds were super comfy but you can not let a screening run when it's pouring rain and cold as hell. It's just not giving a f about your customers. We ended up going to a screening in Melbourne because they SMS us and said the event will be rain proofed. We got there and nothing , even though we came well equipped we were freezing and when it started raining we just had to get up in the middle of the movie. We got a voucher for other screening but won't go cause it's supposed to be raining again! Also would recommend bringing your own snacks as the pizza isn't the best and the popcorn was tiny as.
The beds are comfy and the blankets are cosy. Bring an extra pillow and on windy evenings, keep the drinks on the floor and not on the table as it can get blown over. On the night that I watched, there was a concert playing near by and the music from the concert made it hard to listen to the movie. It was beyond the staff's control and I thought they handled it well; they communicated to everyone after via email to acknowledge the issue and also offered tickets for a show next season so that we can enjoy the event, how it should have been. Hence the 5 stars.
Really enjoyed the idea of the inflatable beds and food service. The atmosphere was really good. Unfortunately by the end of the night the bed had lost enough air that I was touching the floor. As we went on a mildly windy night the screen was constantly swaying back and forth. I would also highly recommend eating dinner before you arrive. We paid $69 for the smallest woodfire pizza I've ever eaten, a few pieces of meat, cheese and olives an "antipasto plate" in a cardboard box and a $10 bottle of wine.
Despite the fact that our booking had to be rescheduled 3 times due to wether condition, the process of re-booking and attending the event was very smooth with no dramas. The inflatable beds were a great idea and comfy, but I had to give 3 stars due to customer service. The staff were extremely rude and slow at service, considering the amount of money we had to pay for the food, it was not worth it! I’d recommend anyone who is attending to eat before you go (not allowed to bring outside food in).
Eugh, there is a lip sync problem caused by the distance from the screen to the beds. Also mono audio with speakers staggered towards the rear but no time delay setup so you get lip sync and wierd comb filtering, phased audio. Towards the back audio is close to half a second off. Kindda half arsed if I have to be honest... I know Sydney is a massive rip off but at least do half a job. Also two pop corn machines but only salted? Really?
While we were not able to watch the whole movie due to technical issues, my rating is not impacted by that. The experience itself is different, which I like. I appreciate doing things differently, but the screen is small after all. With my car only on the second row, the screen looked only a bit bigger than the size of my phone. The car seats are not as comfortable as my couch, so next time I rather stay at home.
I never leave negative reviews but these guys really deserve one. Our movie stopped playing about 10 mins in due to technical issues. That's ok as these things can happen. But they sent us packing promising we'd receive an email with a credit. Almost 2 months later and we haven't received anything, only promotional emails. Not to mention the food and drink service on the night was an absolute shambles.
SAVE YOURSELF THE $50 WATCH IT IN BED AT HOME!!! Bed, pillows and blankets were all soaked. Popcord was cold. The movie started while the sun was still up and 30min earlier than the time that was advised from their own sms message. Sound quality was terrible i couldnt even make out what was being said in the movie. Its a carpark rooftop with some blow up mattresses and a projector, dont waste your $$$.
The movie I booked was cancelled due to 'licensing issues' and I was offered a voucher or refund for it, but never recieved any. I emailed them about it and they replied at first saying they were having problems with PayPal and I would recieve a refund soon. Then they've stopped replying to my emails and left my facebook messages on read. I'm so disappointed and disgusted with their operations.
This is the best outdoor cinema, ever! You watch the film from a really comfortable queen sized inflatable bed, complete with pillows, a doona and glowing bedside tables. The beds are clean. The pizzas are great, plus you can eat in bed. The screen is huge and the sound quality is really great too. Really recommend this experience!
waited 2hrs20mins for food. Had been asked / spoke to several staff members working on the night that it was on the way. It came at the end cold and not edible. Wrote and email, didn't receive a reply... Replied to feedback, still no reply.. replied to a story on instagram you guessed it 'it was seen' and no reply.
The session I bought tickets for was cancelled due to licensing issues with the scheduled movie. A voucher to a different session was offered but a refund was not given. The Mov'in Bed Team didn't communicate any further. I was keen to try this outdoor cinema but not after this poor experience.
Due to unforeseen rain, our screening has been postponed to another date. We couldn't attend the new date and the Mov'in Bed customer service offered us to reschedule for any screening we wanted. We really appreciated. Apart from that, we've had a fantastic time at the cinema.
I am writing in to try and get the team's attention and give us our refund! There has been very poor response on emails and hence reaching out here. Movinboat seems to now be closed however we have a cancelled ticket fund. Kindly contact me back!
This company is disgusting. I bought a ticket and he screening got cancelled due to ‘heavy rain’ while the forecast said no rain expected. I asked for a refund as I could not attend any later showings and they denied. Would not recommend.
My ticket was cancelled due to adverse weather conditions and I was not given a REFUND, instead I was given a voucher that did NOT WORK!!! Horrible service! I do not recommend and I will NOT be putting myself through this next season!!!
Terrible customer service. Super delayed responses to emails, if at all! Will not ever be using their service again will not be recommending them to anyone. Buyer beware! One of the worst companies I’ve ever had to deal with!
The staff is nice and welcoming, food is delicious and delivered pretty quickly. Beds are comfy, blankets/pillows were obviously freshly cleaned. Screen and sound quality are impressive even tho it's an outdoor cinema. 5/5 !
This company is as bad as Ticketmaster - overpriced for what you get and won’t give refunds if an adverse event happens. Good luck trying to call anyone. They are not easy to work with and unfriendly.
My expectations weren't high - based on another outdoor cinema experience - but this was fantastic, inflatable beds were comfy & clean, great food, really nice staff. A great time!
What a surprise to find such a good idea during my trip in Sydney. I really enjoyed this night watching Bohemian Rapsody with a good sound quality ! Thank you the Movin'Bed team.
Really good experience! The beds are very comfy, I was afraid to be a bit cold because of bad weather but the blankets were amazing. That was a perfect night!
I wait for it every single year ! Mov'in Bed is THE place to be when it comes to an outdoor experience. It's as perfect for date nights than girls night.
AMAZING ! It was a surprise for my girlfriend for her birthday, and she liked it so much ! First time in an outdoor cinemas, and honestly I recommend it
Rocky Horror for the first time at Mov'in car (during covid times). Battery died and these legends jumped us Great time all around! …
The beds were dirty (really dirty... gross) and on the ticket they say the movie starts at 6 but it only started at 8:30. Waste of time
The venue of Sydney is just crazy this year, it's on a rooftop! And the experience to have food delivered to your bed is soooo good :)
They canceled the session on the might for a technical issue 2 weeks ago and now cannot get a refund …
Although they change movie last minute.. this is such a great experience..ticked off one of my bucketlist
5 star s experience ! I've tried other outdoor cinemas in Sydney and this is definitely the best one.
Absolutely loved it! It was innovative and the perfect date night for my hard to please girlfriend!
Awesome night! Such a great idea! Food is highly over-priced but that's to be expected I suppose.
Perfect place to chill out after work. Good to consider coming early though, to get a good spot.
We loved this place, you can watch good movies, eat, drink and enjoy this amazing place
Lovely night out, it was a really fun and original date that I would recommend.
