I really enjoy seeing movies at the Movie House and Eatery in Northwest Austin on 620. It has the most amazing seats and the food service is very nice also. I don't go to all of my movies here but I certainly do when a plans for dinner and special movie comes out. I find that the service and food are both in the four plus star range and that there are certain dishes that really stand out, I have experimented around and really like the poke bowl for a fresh and nutritious option here. But they also have all of the standards you would want such as hot buttered popcorn, burgers, milkshakes, and pizza. I personally don't really drink, but the bar service and drinks that people order seem to make them very happy! ;-) I just have to say that the space and seating are the biggest plus factor for me. The Walk isles are very wide in between seats and even in a full reclined position you have plenty of room to walk in front of a seat if you have to go to the bathroom. The movies screen and projection are always very good. The only thing I have noticed, is the sound is a little weak here sometimes. If you want to go see a movie with a booming soundtrack and really want it cranking, might want to go to a different place for that experience. On the other hand, if you don't like how incredibly loud movies can be at certain places, this will work better for you. All in all this place falls into a four to five star rating for everything and one other thing I would say in closing, the staff and management always seem to be very friendly and happy and I believe that makes a place more fun to visit also. It reflects down to the customer experience level. Check it out. It's a great place for Operation Dinner and a Movie!!

Horrible experience at Moviehouse and Eatery/620 tonight. Upon entering the theater, I asked our waitstaff if the air conditioning was on. She said it was broken and was being repaired. 30 minutes go by and I pressed my call button to ask the waitstaff to give me an update on the air conditioning issue, as it was getting extremely warm and uncomfortable in the packed theater. She returned a few minutes later to tell me the technician was present, and it would be on in about 15 minutes. The air conditioning never came on. I asked to speak to the manager after the movie ended. He was aware that there wasn't any air conditioning, yet tickets were nearly sold out for the movie, and ticket holders were not informed before entering the theater that the air conditioning was not working. The manager told me he could only refund me if I left the movie within the first few minutes of the movie starting. I reminded him that the waitstaff assured me a technician was working on it, and it would be fixed in a timely manner. Shame on you Moviehouse. When it's 105 degrees outside, people want to watch a movie in a cool theater. Don't go to Moviehouse this weekend when it's burning hot outside, or any other weekend for that matter.

I recently went with my wife and got the Middle Eastern bowl with salmon, Asian bowl with lobster, Pink Paloma, Monkey Colada, and 3 large waters. (In the middle of our meal, we decided to ask for one more water and they served it with a smile!) Everything was delicious, the drinks were not weak, our seats were in perfect condition, service was fast, and the waters were free! (The waters were large cups with ice in them.) The bathrooms were also spotless and in good condition. Was a bit disappointed that other reviewers didn't have a perfect experience as I think theaters are a dying breed. I was so happy with our experience that I left a 50% tip. I was especially happy with the free waters as waters cost money in a normal theater. I also felt that our total food bill was much less than the same high quality food would have cost in a high quality restaurant.

This place was awesome pre-covid, and I know covid was hard for the theater industry so I have been patient with them as they get back on their feet. However, my patience is up. They definitely have gone downhill - whether from covid or the sale to Cinepolis. We recently spent $200 for tickets/food for 4 people. The seats in the theaters are worn and disgusting, The table top was literally falling apart. Food is OK, but is not as good as it used to be and the prices have gone up. Very few vegetarian options on the menu. Oh, and I ALWAYS have to bring my own salt. Because if you don't you WILL wait 5-10 minutes (or longer) with your food getting cold in front of you while someone goes to find you a tiny salt cup. That is just silly.

I made the mistake of purchasing my tickets ahead of time, but for the wrong date. When I showed up and realized my mistake, the staff at the Moviehouse Eatery were rude and unhelpful. I would understand if the showtime I attended was sold out, but there were plenty of empty seats available and they refused to make any accommodations. In fact, the manager told me “when you miss a concert the concert doesn’t come back and perform again”. I know that I was the one that made the mistake, but they did not attempt to help me in any way, even though it would have been very easy to do so. I will not be going back for this reason!

Prepaid the day before to request seats and be sure we had a space for a 4:30 show on a Thursday. Could have saved myself $6 if we went in but wanted to be sure. Got there for HH pricing which was $6 apps for a few and $1 off beer. After 3 tickets at $48 and apps/dinner one drink we spent an additional $98 on food with tip. The movie was good, the service was great. The food was good too! The seats were a little worn in our theater but didn’t effect much. If we go again probably won’t plan to use the movie night as a dinner time too for $ sake. Fun experience in a rainy day while visiting over spring break.

What the heck happened to this place? We have been going since they opened and it was always a pleasant experience. Over the last year it has gone to hell. Our last and final visit was last week. From the moment you step in the place is filthy. The seats are destroyed. The food was terrible: Our truffle fries were cold to the touch. The bread for our Philly cheese steak was stale. All this while they continue to raise our prices. $60 for fries, a sandwich and two glasses of wine. Plus the movie tickets. Sad because it is the closest movie theater to our house but we will never be going again.

The place is really nice and clean. The chairs are comfortable recliners and the menu has several options. I had the steak quesadilla which was delicious. Also had a margarita that came in a big glass and a cup of coffee. The even have creme brûlée in the dessert menu Service is excellent and everyone seems really courteous. Also the seat has a button to call the waiter/waitress. The bathroom is beautiful and clean. The best part is that the movie ticket only cost $12.00 plus tax. I definitely recommend this place as it feels classy and it’s not at all costly.

Worst movie experience I’ve ever had. Our server was a young man that was extremely rude. He would rush us and make us feel like we were bothering him. I ordered the mushroom pizza and it was undercooked. The dough was like clay all raw. Told our server and he snatched the pizza took it to the kitchen (didn’t apologize or say anything at all. About 45 min later he brings out another one, it was burnt. I didn’t bother to say anything at this point. Just a terrible experience. NEVER going back. Don’t waste your money here. Go somewhere else.

Went on a Saturday afternoon to eat a late lunch while watching a movie. I ordered a pepperoni pizza ($14) and my son ordered chicken strips ($14). We ordered a coke ($7) and smart water ($7.50). We bought tickets online so we never visited the concession stand. We went straight to our seats. After about 15 minutes, a server came to take our order. It was delivered during previews. Both of us enjoyed our selections. Would I pay $75 for a movie and meal again? Probably not....but it was fun for a first time.

If you like free movies, this theater is for you! We sat in the theater for over an hour and nobody came to check our tickets…or take our food /drink order. Hitting the call button multiple times or even going down during the movie to let them know - they still won’t acknowledge your existence. We ended up leaving and on the way out let the “manager” know that nobody acknowledged us and we were leaving. His response: “okay” Alamo Drafthouse or IPIC at the Domain are MUCH better options.

Fantastic food, I would say they have the best dining movie experience. The seats were a little worn out, but still incredibly comfortable and leaned back. The service was excellent. The sound was good and the film looked very good on the screen. also, it was not a very crowded screening so that was nice. There’s plenty of parking close to the entrance.

  • Maria Buck-Zubin

Definitely gone downhill, at least in service and prices. Charged $7.50 for a coke, $14.50 for a pepperoni pizza, it was so small and not worth the price. It was freezing in the auditorium, and when I asked if they could turn the heat on, they said it was automatic. I ended up leaving early because of how cold it was, never finished watching the movie.

My go-to movie place. A couple of improvements can be made: 1) Worn out faux leather seats can be very scratched unless you wear pants. Not to mention it can damage your clothes if they are made out of delicate fabrics. 2) Service is nice. But maybe train the servers to whisper or get down a little bit when taking orders during a move.

  • Nayab

Fully electric recliner leather seats that can fit a person generously! Moving tables with cup holders. Button to call for servers to take you order through out a movie! What more do you want!? Great place. Only downside some of the chairs are quite worn. Otherwise, pretty good - butter popcorn is tasty, pizza is nice. Enjoy going here

  • Peter Gregg

First time here after looking for tikes at regular place. Pleasantly surprised. Comfortable chairs. As the order is taken the order is sent back so service is extremely fast. Good food variety of healthy options and less so for those who want. Great service. Screen and audio quality were good. Will be back.

  • Tawny LewisBell

Great customer service most of the time. The seats need a serious upgrade. They are comfortable but fabric seems to be coming apart in most seats. The food is ok but a little bland in many of the things I’ve tried. The cookies are hot, soft and crispy around the edges and pretty much close to perfect.

  • Shan Fannin

We've been coming here for date night for years. I have to say that it is shocking to see how much a matinee movie for two, 1 order of chips & queso, waters, and one order of avocado toast. With tip it came to $70. It is hard to do this as a couple in this economy. :(

  • Matt Jenkins

Order tickets online early.. one of the better movie house with fully reclining chairs. If you are cold natured bring a blanket as AC is always cranked low. Get there early and have drink and apps in the bar and finish off with dinner and desert during the movie.

  • Evan Gibbleson

The reason I’m giving this review is because of the service, the worker that was helping me and my friends (Chris) was the best, he came insanely fast every time we pressed the button, payed for our popcorn and was overall really nice. This 5 star is for him.

  • Tim Costello

Comfortable reclining chairs, clean well kept in a nice shopping area with several restaurants. The food is ok, nothing to write home about but makes for a convenient meal during a movie. The last of several movies I saw there the projector

  • Sheila Farahani

This was my favorite theater for years until Cinepolis bought it. Now the chairs are worn through, uncomfortable and have BUGS crawling in them! We just saw Oppenheimer and two rows of us were saying after the film that we could feel them

  • David Bandel

the service has never been very good here but it was never quite as bad as I had it last night. we went to see the 7:00 p.m. showing of Oppenheimer on Wednesday August 9th and the people serving us seemed utterly incapable of getting a

  • Cristian Delgado

Went to go watch a movie and through out the movie a family next to us would stay on there phones the whole time playing tik toks where everyone would be able to listen to the audio and the mom would take pictures of the movie with her

  • Sydney Seifried

Nice staff nice comfy seating. Menu could be more vegetarian or vegan friendly not many options : (. Alcoholic mixed drink boyfriend got was bad. Popcorn was a little bland which is sad because movie theater popcorn is why you go …

  • Rex Meeks

There is absolutely no reason to go to this movie theater at all unless you live right next door. Alamo Drafthouse is 100x better and half the price. Drinks are about $13 each (which is okay,) but popcorn is $9, a soda you may get one

  • Luzvic Backstrom

Everyone forgot our entire row. Half way thru the movie my husband had to go to the bar and ask… then they came to get our order bur the rest of the row didn’t get anything. Food was ok. Overall it took around an hour after the movie

  • Marianne Renucci

We saw Wonka! It was a great experience for all 9 of us. Chairs all worked, it was clean, staff was friendly. Food is delicious but they pop the popcorn in coconut oil and for those with allergies to coconut this means no popcorn.

  • Devesh Sarwate

Watched a movie in a theater after ages and the movie was darn good so the overall experience was pleasant too. This was my first time in a movie hall where the serve the drink and the food to your seat and it was nice.

  • Luis Tepezano

Best movie theaters I've ever been to great sound and picture and great screens, also the stuff is awesome and the food is also the best. Great place to go to watch movies the seats recline , and friendly environment

  • Warren M

Love the bar area you can enjoy before or after your show. The theater has big comfy seats and the staff were very attentive. If you need anything just push the call button and server would promptly respond.

  • SM

Great seats! The food and service were a disappointment. I've been here several times and usually have good service. This trip was disappointing since service was a bit haphazard and the food was cold.

  • Tommy

I saw Thanksgiving here, and it was awesome. Cheap, no frills, exactly what you think of when “movie theater” comes to mind. But also, recliners I guess are the new norm ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 10 out of 10 from me

  • Brett Abbott

We go here at least once a month and enjoy it every time. Good food and drink, and comfy chairs. And things at home are a lot happier when the Mrs. gets taken out to a movie at least once a month.

  • Angie

Close by theater close to my place. I normally go to iPic but wanted to give this place a shot. First of all the dine in experience fast service is a plus! Definitely will be coming back here.

  • Whitney Main

Wow! Moviegoing has sure changed from back in the day! Reclining large seats. Menu at your seat! Wait staff brings you anything your heart desires to eat or drink. Great experience. A+

  • Charles Alvear

I really enjoy watching movies at this venue. The seats are comfortable, the floors are clean, the wait staff is friendly, and the food is very good. This is my go to cinema!

  • Karl Holdren

Great popcorn - Nice staff - Good food with the exception of the wings as they taste like they were frozen. Some seats are in need of repair as the Pleather is peeling.

  • Paul G

I only go to movies at The Moviehouse & Eatery. That being said, the food is inconsistent. Ive had some really good meals there

  • Leslie Yowell

Great movie with fun delicious food options. Nice stadium seating recliners are super comfortable.
