What can I say, we are Indian Nationals, working and living in South Africa for the last 8 yrs, I did not find a restaurant in this country serving more authentic Indian, Indio/Chinese dishes. Well done to the chef and the promoters, Mumbai Meals is the place to go. We only found out about this place recently, sad that we are leaving the country for a better place. Will definitely miss this country and the mostly friendly people we came across. About the food we ordered, everything was delicious, with the exception of the Veg Munchurian which could have been better, felt a bit rubbery. The dhal makhani was just outstanding, the Chiken Tikka Masala amazing, Indo/Chinese chilli chicken wonderful. Ignore the facts that one cannot dine in with a large group of people and parking on that road is a challenge, what they offer just blew us away.

Well prepared, tasty and authentic Indian cuisine. The Lamb Hydrabai Biryani is something that you have to try, beautifully cooked lamb and basmati rice matched with delicate biryani spices. The Prawns Hot Garlic is simply out of this world, you have to eat it hot otherwise the experience of large, succulent and juicy prawns in a lovely garlic and tomato sauce with onions, spring onions and green peppers is lost slightly if it gets cold. The Prawns Tikka Masala is equally as good, you have to try it for yourself. The butter and the garlic naan is soft and delicate and larger than you would expect. All in all Mumbai Meals is a hidden gem that serves lovingly prepared and tasty authentic indian cuisine. It has now become one of my regular places to eat. A must try!

Fresh spicy food served to perfection. So far, I have tried their vegetarian menu with freshly baked tandoori naan bread. The Dhal Makhini, one of my all time favourites, rich, nutritious and the flavours gently compliment the aroma bringing a sense of culinary bliss in the indulgence of a simple meal fit for a Maharaja. The menu is comprehensive, covering the most popular dishes of the Mother Land. Eat in is small with a outside area that can be utilized. Service is a moderate, advisable to place order in its entirety. Take out is recommended to the discerning diner. Parking is a bit of a bother. Tantalising enough to phone in and pick up, to appreciate the tastes and flavours of these spice masters.

I loved this place up until 3 months ago. I took guests on two different occassions in the last 3 months and we were dissappointed on both occasions. We tried ordering different things off the menu which were either finished or "out of stock" at 12 noon. We opted to have pani puris which we were told were "out of stock". Despite the disappointment, I decided to go back a week ago. We ordered the pani puris for starters and were told they were "out of stock". What was once, one of my favourite 'Indian chaat cafes' in Durban has turned out to be quite disappointing.

I ordered takeaway via Mr D and I was so pleased by the way the food was packed. I ordered the chicken cubes and it is served with chips and naan- all come individually packed, so the chips and naan are not soaked in oil when you receive your food, which is great. The food is fresh, flavour is superb, portions are large. I will definitely be ordering again. Also the mint chutney is amazing and can be eaten with anything from Veg to fish.

If this restaurant was situated in a shopping mall, ocean side or park, it will get a all round 5 star. No heartburn, acid reflux or indigestion with their food. Special attention to ingredients, cooking time with every single preparation done individually as per order. No cooking and keeping aside waiting for customers. If you haven't tried Mumbai Meals, you haven't tasted true Bharat cuisine.

Mumbai meals what kind i say, had them cater for a function if 100 people, they did a splendid job, service excellent, food excellent quality excellent, tea was divine, i was truely taken back by them, give them a try and let me know Munna is the main person, YOU have look at the pics and decide, MY VERDICT money well spent

Authentic Indian food that's reminiscent of pure authentic Indian flavors. They do events and external catering as well. The management is always ready to assist and indulge your palate to some amazing cuisine. Karak Chai, Paani Puri, Tandoori chicken, Clay pot biryani, just to mention a few mouthwatering treats here

One thing i learnt from this place is that Pakistani food and Indian food is completely different.. i love Pakistani food.. but i really enjoyed Mumbai meals.. i had an Indian family with me tonight and they really enjoyed it.. said it felt like home.. love your chicken fried rice and your chicken chilli..

Worst place to be in, I went to this restaurant prepared to have lunch together with my family and the lady who was serving me told us that we cannot sit down and have lunch, she told us to go out and sit in our car... I don't like this restaurant totally

Great chat food as starters, then enjoyed the veg Manchurian and the chicken tikka masala with garlic and butter naans. Had complementary fresh watermelon juice and a wonderful cup of masala chai. Enjoyable meal by all at dinner!

The food is amazing its actually one of the best... but the manager.. nicole.. really disrespectful.. like she doesnt want the restaurant to do good.. she basically chases customers.. very very unwelcoming.. and hands down rude

Tried the special which was 2 tandoori chicken meals for R199. Real value for money. Chicken was really tasty and soft, fresh rotis. Could do better with the chips though. All in all well worth the price.

Try the Veg Manchow soup, especially if you have the flu. It's hot ,spicy sour and delicious and makes you sweat it out. Feeling much better after just half a serving.

Quality of meals are very poor, a few hours down the line, the meal was off. The owner was very argumentative & defensive. Will not support this establishment again.
