Among a few Hindu temples in Berlin, this is one of the prominent ones. The temple is called Sri Mayurapathy Murugan temple. It is located in Blaschkoallee which is serviced by U Bahn Line U7. There is also bus route 170 which runs here. The temple has many Hindu deities within the main temple. Deities present are Ganesha, Shiva, Vishnu, Naga Devatha, Bhairava, Mayurapathy Murugan and Shani. There is also Vasantha Mandapam and some other deities. You will also find a Navagraha. The temple is mainly run by Sri Lankan Tamil community. The main language of communication is Tamil, of course, many of them speak German and also English. Architecturally, the temple is very well built and looks just like another temple from the Tamil regions of the Indian subcontinent. The temple is also managed and maintained very well. There are a lot of specific pujas (rituals) performed here on payment basis for your personal satisfaction. There is also a Sankashta Chathurthi puja held on a monthly basis. The temple is open in the mornings between 7 and 12 and later in the afternoon at 4 until 7:30. I personally felt satisfied with the rituals performed. There is an annual temple festival held between August and September. May Lord Murugan bless us all!!

In den Murugan-Tempel mit seinen reich verzierten und fantasievoll bemalten Aufbauten kommen jeden Tag viele Menschen. Hier sind alle willkommen Sie bitten Murugan und weitere Heilige ( es gibt mehrere Gottheiten bei den Hindus ) um Hilfe. Es ist der erste frei stehende Hindu-Tempel in Berlin, etwa 250 Quadratmeter groß würde ich sagen. Vor einigen Jahren wurde das Gotteshaus in einer zweitägigen Zeremonie feierlich mit vielen Menschen die dadran teilgenommen haben eröffnet. Mehr als 10 Priester waren deswegen angereist, sie rieben Statuen mit Sesamöl, Milch, heiligem Gras und anderen Zutaten ein, das Tempeldach weihten sie mit mehreren Wassertöpfen ( in dem Heiligeswasser wohl drin war ) und für das Prozedere hatten sie sogar eine Kuh dabei gehabt. Denn Kühe sind Heilige Tiere für die Hindus. Hier kann man an den Öffnungszeiten jeder Zeit vorbeischauen und auch ohne Zeremonie sich entspannen und in sich gehen.

Der sehr farbenfroher Hindu-Tempel, Mayurapathy Murugan liegt mitten im Berliner Bezirk Neukölln. Hier kann man ein kleines Stück Srilanka und den Hinduismus kennenlernen. Der Tempel lädt alleine schon auf Grund seiner typischen Bauweise und der Farben zum Entdecken ein. Wenn man freundlich fragt, darf man ihn auch besuchen. Am Eingang müssen die Schuhe und die Jacke ausgezogen werden. Fotografieren im Inneren des Tempels ist nicht erwünscht. Es ist interessant einfach einmal eine „andere Welt“ zu besichtigen. Die Menschen sind freundlich und zurückhaltend. Die Hygienemaßnahmen werden eingehalten. Parkplätze stehen kostenfrei in der Nähe zur Verfügung. It's home away from home! Atleast that's how I felt today after visiting this temple. It's my birthday today and I wanted visit temple as I have done every year since I can remember. Surprisingly there was a Pooja going on and it was amazing to watch and hear the mantras chant. The best was saved for the last. They gave sambar rice as prasadam, I felt so thankful to have had this. It was so tasty and fulfilling than any other birthday cake cutting that I've done over the past years. Thankful for this place. As I said.. home away from home.

Nun kann ich hier nur als oberflächlicher Besucher schreiben - mit der an diesem Ort eigentlich ausgeübten Religion habe ich keine Berührungspunkte. Als neugieriger Besucher bin ich hier nett empfangen worden: mir wurde kurz gesagt, was man hier machen kann und was hier nicht sein müsste (vermutlich, weil es Leute schon getan haben). Mir hat der Ort als solcher inkl. der Atmosphäre gefallen.

This is the very well maintained Hindu Temple of God Murugan with God Ganesh, God Shiv, God Vishnu, and Navgraha with God Bhairav and Godess. They are performing every day Puja and any devotee can take part in it. Very nice and clean and people are very cooperative.

Good place of worship in Berlin. Like any other temple in India, they have a proper gopuram (ornate tower usually at the entrance). It was well maintained and had a calm and peaceful atmosphere. If you are new to Berlin, this is definitely worth a visit. If you live here, it can be your regular place of worship ;)

Beautiful temple with a big gopuram. Opening times daily 07:30-12:30 16:30-19:30 For the altars, the gopuram (gate tower) and all the doors and gates, carpenters and stone carvers who stand in the tradition of stone carving from Mahapalipuram/India were flown in from India.

Wonderful temple, has almost all the Hindu deities... Quite a peaceful place for worship, a little far away from the city, reaching the temple was an issue... Pls check temple timings before the visit!

We went to this temple 18.08.2022. Pooja was going on. It took place for an hour. Got a feel that I am in one of the temple in Tamilnadu. Annadhanam took place after the pooja.

A really spiritually active place! Everyone of the devotees makes this place a really peaceful and powerful place of worship! Truly amazing to see the community effort here!

Sehr hübsches Gebäude, reich geschmückt im Inneren. Leider schlechte Luft und kalter Steinfußboden. Leute sind freundlich. Puja um 7 Uhr, große Umzüge je nach Feiertag.

Super interessantes Objekt. Wer noch nicht dort war, sollte unbedingt vorbeizuschauen. Geht auch ohne Anmeldung. Es gibt eine Fußbodenheizung!!!

Wurden zur Messe sehr freundlich empfangen. Laute Musik, Nahrung und Pflanzen wurde geweiht und an die Gläubigen gegeben. Sehr bunter Tempel
