"This place is enormous, and well worth checking out"
"Excellent explanation of Brazil’s history with explanations in both Portuguese and English on almost all exhibits"
"Not enough signs to show where the mot ability route was"
"So many history to be seen with R$10 entrance fee"
"A very informative and beautiful nationalistic collection"
This place is enormous, and well worth checking out. It's housed in a beautiful old building with an interior courtyard, there are multiple levels. You will need at least two hours to thoroughly explore the entire place because it's huge. The only thing that I would have liked is a better focus on the indigenous history of Brazil.
Excellent explanation of Brazil’s history with explanations in both Portuguese and English on almost all exhibits. Enjoy a few hours to see everything and read the signage. You’ll learn about history through a timeline that explains the history of the country.
Not enough signs to show where the mot ability route was. Staff really helpful. All signs in English as well as Portuguese. Gave a good insight into the history of Brazil from the beginning to the present day. Kept dry from the unexpected rain.
So many history to be seen with R$10 entrance fee.. The place is also nice to take pictures from the inside and outside. You can learn the history of Brazil at this Muzium. Just be aware of the opening time at 1300 hrs on Saturday & Sunday.
A very informative and beautiful nationalistic collection. I learned a great deal about the history of Brazil here, and took a few great keepsake photos. I especially liked the carriage collection and the painting of the whales in the bay.
A fantastic collection of exhibits including one of the best and most varied collection of textile, basketry work, potterry and weapons of many tribes in Brasil plus the usual paintings and european paraphernalea. Definitely worth a visit.
I only had like 40 minutes, but i didnt have to go too fast. it was free. very well air conditioned. they made a very nice tour, you just follow the arrows and it takes you from the oldest step by step to 20th century. As someone from
Comprehensive overview of Brazilian history, an essential place to visit. A little hard to find but it is located in an attractive area. The bistro was a good place to recharge at lunch time and provided good value.
Great exhibits that include a lot of information in Portuguese and English. 10 R entrance Feb 2019, free on Sunday and possibly on Tuesday, closed on Monday. This represents great value as an activity in the city.
Great Museum with the right balance of Brazilian history and diversity. I visited this place many years ago and it has nothing lost of the fascination
Great museum. You get a nice overview of Brazilian history. I only have it 4 stars because I wish it had more about the indigenous peoples of Brazil.
A must visit if you are visiting Brazil for the first time and if care to know about the history of the people that make this country very unique.
Free museum! Very educational because there were people on field trips. Most of the exhibits has english translation for easy understanding. More
Great museum, explaining the evolution of Brazil. Many artifacts and paintings from the imperial times of government. No cost for entry. More
Quite interesting placeto visit. You actually get to know important facts of the history of this beautiful country.
I learned everything I needed to know about Brazil's history here. It was very informative and I highly recommend.
The best part is the Native American and African history, but not enough of the slaves culture and tradition.
Spectacular review of Brazilian history, in Portuguese and English. Don't miss the carriages! Free on Sunday.
Great museum and most explanations in English too. Worth to go there to learn more about Brazilian history.
This venue holds a lots of international exhibitions, but also owns a great colection of historical pieces.
Very nice, but the location on Google map is not exactly right. You need to head south a little bit.
The history is rich here and they have English translations on most things!

Very good place to get to know the history of how Brazil was created and ripped apart by Portugal
It was really cool, but the one of the skeletons is cooler in my opinion, but that's subjective.
Nice place to visit. Have good story about Brazil. If you have a day with less sun, a must do!
Must visit in the city, especially if you are not from Brazil and love history and museums.
seemingly small, but wonderful and comprehensive exhibition for at least 3 hours to explore
