When you pay nearly R1000 per person for a tasting menu with pairings of wine, you have some expectations, and NCW just did not live up to them for us. It's a pretty place. The service was perfunctory and rushed, but pleasant. Wines came late with courses half the time - not a train smash, but not what you expect when paying this much. Food was okay. The Vol au Vent was spectacular, the pumpkin pie with dark chocolate ice cream was fantastic. All the other courses were good, though in general under-salted and somewhat bland. The wines were mediocre at best, aside from the Simonsig MCC, and you're lucky to get 4 mouthfuls of each. And be warned... A bottle of water costs R72, which was just the cherry on the top for us. Kinda imagined that R1000 would cover our water. All in all, a disappointing showing for something that is touted as fine dining at top prices. We won't be back.

Don’t bother booking an event or going to an event here if you didn’t prepare a skaftien as a vegan/on a plant based diet. The chef agreed to cater for my main meal(meaning you’ll watch everyone eat all other meals)…when I went to check, I had nothing and the host had to order some chips off Uber cause she felt bad. I repeat: if you are vegan…do not book or go here. The staff also were on their phones during speeches and prayers. It really isn’t about how much you pay for things in this country. The guards really look out for women when you take a taxi service. Thank goodness I came with my own power balls to power through the hunger till my chips arrived. He chef kept apologising but made it clear that he won’t make anything for me…but feed my hunger with his apologies.

I attended a book launch ("Sunflowers For My Lovers" by Zizipho Bam) which was held at NCW Restaurant in Melville. There was plenty of seating inside and outside the event space and the food and drinks were great.

Went on a Tuesday night and was quiet. Venue is really impressive with various lounges and private dining areas. We were welcomed with a glass of bubbles as we walked in, extremely friendly and professional staff. Food was great. I would recommend not being in a rush, spending some time there. Smart and cosy atmosphere. I will definitely return soon.

We had the most amazing experience... an exquisite five course meal with such a brilliant variety of flavours and textures. The service was excellent and the staff make you feel at home. The decor and venue itself is very beautiful. Excellent coffee to round of any meal. Definitely a must visit on my list.

This special place is beyond my favorite restaurant in Johannesburg. An absolute MUST if you enjoy fine food and wine. The incredibly talented Ence and his awesome team hard at work to bring world class fine dining to Johannesburg. Don't question it, just go and experience it. Hands down, the best.

Went for their Sunday Feast. We were welcomed warmly and given a tour of the restaurant. There are many cosy nooks for soaking up sun and sipping on your drinks. The food is beautifully presented and the dining experience is a luxurious and intimate journey. Such a treat. Absolutely recommend!

Marvelous venue. Friendly welcome. Safe parking. Tastefully furnished with good quality crockery & cutlery. Incredibly slow service. Artistic food but very limited choice which did not suit all my guests. I had to apologise to my guests which after paying so much is not acceptable.

Not impressed altogether! Nice venue and friendly welcome but starter soup was cold and tasteless, main and cheese were average and the red wine way too cold. Wine pairing felt more like a tasting as well.

Outstanding! What a gem of a restaurant as you get into Melville! We had the seven course tasting with wine pairing and each dish was just outstanding! Will most definitely return again!

Good food, but incredibly slow service. It took about an hour per course. We were told it was the first day of a new menu, but that's no compensation for spending 4 hours at dinner.

Love love this place. My friends and colleagues cant hear the end of it. Waiters can know a little bit more abt wine but the food is so memorable
