I am sharing my experience with trying to get a hold of someone to hear me out and see if I have a possible case or not. It started off with me filling out the contact us form on their website. I received an email within 24 hours asking me to describe the nature of my issue. Which I did and it fell on to another section as it was more litigation (banking). I received a followup within a few days from one of the legal assistants who asked me to give her a level of detail to what the issue was. Which I did. This was on the 16 Sep 19. I was advised that someone (either her or the lawyer) would get back to be "soon". I have sent several followup emails and even left a voice mail. This law firm came highly recommended from one the larger firms here in Ottawa (Gowling) who couldn't take my case / look at my case due a conflict in interest. I think the biggest issue I have is that someone could have easily contacted me and told me if I have case or not. It didn't even get to that. I am very disappointed and will be moving on - couldn't even have the decency to respond with an update.

This is hands down the best law firm I ever worked with. I worked with Erin & she was amazing since the beginning. We received a cease & desist letter in regards to a trademark issue, and Erin & her team were able to guide me through the whole process. They went over the letter & its merits, and guided me in responding to this letter & resolving the matter. They also trademarked a few names for us for both Canada & USA. It was so easy dealing with them, all my questions were answered promptly & Erin is so attentive to details and extremely knowledgeable about the law. What I particularly enjoyed about using their services is how transparent & straightforward they are with their pricing. If they can't give an exact price immediately, they will at least give an estimate or a price range. There's never any negative surprises working with them. They have proven time and time again that there is no one else I'd rather turn to for legal help.

All in all, this was a very disappointing experience which has left me disillusioned with Nelligan O’Brien Payne. While I am satisfied with the document produced (my will), the exorbitant fees and sticker shock on receipt of my final invoice left a very bitter taste in my mouth. I was initially assisted by lawyer Erin Kelley who drafted my will (an original session of over an hour, drafting the will document, email exchanges - for roughly $1200). When she left on maternity leave, lawyer Nuwanthi Dias took over my file to make some revisions and final adjustments for which I was charged almost $1500 – a few hundred MORE than for the original drafting of the will itself. The total bill was almost $3K! The itemized list provided with the invoice indicates that I was billed for every email, and several blocks of time stated that Nuwanthi and team spent on my file although changes from the draft to the final text are small. Feeling Fleeced

Mr. Hazem Mehrez is the best lawyer I’ve ever consulted! I had an issue regarding my post-graduation work permit, and I needed to consult a lawyer to make sure I take the correct steps. I asked for recommendations from different friends and met the few lawyers that were recommended. However, Mr. Hazem was by far the best: very knowledgeable and provided me with details and references for every piece of information he gave me; plus he took the time to listen carefully to all my questions and concerns and then addressed them one by one in full detail. He sat realistic expectations and made the entire situation (with all it’s complications) very clear to me. He made sure I didn’t leave with even a tiny bit of confusion. Very, very pleased with my experience and overall outcome working with lawyer Jenna Preston. She gave great knowledgeable, clear and concise advice in relation to the different legal arguments that were pertinent to my case. She was exceedingly adept and strategic to keep me focused on issues that were worth fighting for and those which were not worth my time or money. She was always quick to respond in regards to any communication and got us to mediation/settlement as quickly as possible. Her professionalism and compassion and made the experience feel more than a working relationship, and in a way, I’m actually disappointed that working with her has almost come to an end. I also would like to acknowledge Puja Dheer whose assistance with information gathering made the process smooth and efficient.

Its a pay by the minute service. I paid $2200 to get a letter written for a WSIB appeal. It was denied immediately. The lawyer who wrote it left, and introduced me to a colleague he said could help if I needed anything further. Although I did not ask the new guy for anything I noticed that the one who took over added another hour and change to my bill. I was then sent an email about closing my file ( and of course paying the invoice) in which he stated " Dale, it was a pleasure working with you and I am pleased that we were able to achieve a resolution to this matter. Should you require any other legal services in the future, please do not hesitate to contact me. I wish you good health and all the best!" Not sure how getting an appeal denied should make him pleased, but oh well...

I am very happy to work with the lawyer Hazem Mehrez. I consulted an immigration mandamus application. Hazem gave me some overall processing sugestions in our first meeting. Then he suggest me to initiate a draft for a notice letter to the IRCC. Although the notice letter does not have the IRCC to respone to my case, the attempt is very professional. We finally have to formally initiate this action to the public right. If you are the individual customer and do not want to spend too much money on the lawyer fee, I suggest you to write the request document by yourself as a draft first and then give it to the lawyer to review. Finally, I will strongly recommend my friend to visit this place if they need the legal services.
