Neptunes Brighton Le Sands is a bayside favourite that has recently reopened from a multi million dollar refurbishment. Offering panoramic Botany views to La Perouse and Kurnell, this bustling Grand Parade cafe specialises in understated and contemporary cool. Friendly and relaxed with a touch of sophistication, the outdoors have been brought inside by the understated green and neutral palette and abundance of potted and hanging plants. The new Mediterranean and European inspired menu stretches from breakfast to small and larger sharing plates, substantial salads, pasta, burgers and steak. But we have one thing on our minds when we smell the wood-fired oven from up the road: pizza. Two cocktails straight up while we peruse the menu: an elderflower spritz and a gin delight. Fresh and zesty aperitifs from the bountiful upstairs bar. We share a pizza capricciosa and the tempura oyster pillows with coriander yoghurt and salmon roe for entree. The pizza is wood-charred and beautifully puffy and crisp with a generous lathering of topping. The oysters are elegantly presented and moreish, with the sweet pop of fish roe to freshen the palette. The baby back pork ribs with sticky toffee basting is served with a side of steakhouse chips. The marinade is irresistibly sweet and the only thing holding the pork to the bone. We don’t even need the usual rib provisions of wet towels as the meat morsels fall straight onto our fork. The BBQ grilled lamb and chicken breast skewers arrive with the perfect accompaniment, flat bread, cucumber yoghurt and a well dressed salad and chips. The Mediterranean inspired herbs deliciously coat the lean, succulent and perfectly cooked skewers. This is a very generously portioned meal. Neptunes utilises their new wood oven for dessert and we taste a house favourite: caramelised banana wood-fired donut with vanilla custard, banana, roasted white chocolate, caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream. Definitely for those with a sweet tooth, the donut was beautifully crunchy and stuffed full of smooth custard. The chocolate lava pudding cake with crushed honeycomb vanilla ice-cream and berries was rich and decadent. We were excited to see a gush of chocolate lava and the tart berries provided a perfect balance to the sweetness of the ice cream. Service at Neptunes is warm and attentive with friendly and knowledgeable maitre’d and wait staff. The refurbishment includes an open galley kitchen and bar. Perfect for families and functions, Neptunes boasts a variety of menu options and is entirely ready for a busy seaside party season. Book now to enjoy the best from this great venue.

*UPDATED* After returning here several times after the first, it was clear to me that the service here was fantastic at a glance, but does not get any better beyond a lovely greeting. I had given them the benefit of the doubt that same mistake wouldn’t happen more than once, even twice. Occurring during every visit, we have had to wait a stupidly long time to even signal a waiter for their attention, be it for the menu or to order, to the point where they have managed to serve the customers right next to us instead of us. It got so ridiculous that we would have left if not for them actually coming to us on a minute after them. On our most recent visit however, we have had to wait literally around 30 minutes before getting served. I understand it gets busy during the evening, but it doesn’t excuse neglecting customers to this extent. We finally ordered, and we usually get the same foods, a pizza, a side, and a drink. On two occasions that we have been here, they forget the drink. The first time we were here a kind staff/manager offered us complimentary drinks on our next visit, which we have never received since we didn’t see him again. And on our most recent visit, we never received the it. In our most recent visit, we had an incredibly poor experience to say the least. Two men were seated next to us right after we ordered, and they had terrible BO and a child on the loose playing around the seats, even physically bothering us. We wanted to leave as soon as this occurred because of how intolerable this was, and how these guys were not doing anything about their kid. We managed to get the manager over and she said that it was a bit too late as the chefs had started cooking, but she could move us to a different table when it opens up. We moved eventually, with the two men eyeing us throughout everything. The mood was killed and we rushed to finish the food and wanted to leave as soon as we could. I can confidently say that this restaurant will no longer be a staple for me.

Started off fairly busy, it was Sunday and Mother's Day. There was no notable system of seating those with bookings vs walk ins. All those waiting to be seated just lined up outside regardless... as long as it takes. The person dealing with customers at the front spent more time away from the front of house than managing guests at the door. We were eventually directed upstairs where it was much less busy. A few tables were set. Most not. One table was at such a slant it became a conversation starter! We were handed a (compulsory) set menu list, then one waiter asked if we were 'ready to order', followed by '.... for how many people?'. Then another waiter asked whether we had ordered yet. The table beside (which had yet to be set up) waited about 20 min before asking if they could 'at least have some water, please?' A few min later they received their jug of water, but another 15 min later, still no glasses. They got up and left. Our food was plentiful and nice enough, but not anything exceptional ... meatballs, calamari (v tender) 2 basic dips, fresh flatbread, ravioli, kale salad diced chicken in a sauce, rice. Fairly basic cost. Then we waited well over an hr for dessert and at this stage they were at no more than 25% capacity. We waited and waited for this 2 inch square piece of tiramisu and coffee. We chased it up twice and gave up. Paid our required 'set menu' price ($60 pp) and left. On the way back downstairs we could see they were also around 20% capacity - service was worse the less busy they were. We went for lunch and didn't get out till very close to dinner time. Family friendly, but lots and lots of noise including screaming children. Parking very restricted in spite of a v small council parking station nearby and street parking (due to multiple blocks of units) so parking is usually an issue here. I think we'll try somewhere else next time.

Neptunes was the perfect choice for the perfect event! Seriously don't even waste your time checking out the other places, I've already done that! Compared prices, service, views and venue this place takes the cake! Even leading up to the event Taha the manager was in constant contact with me, the music was my choice, the projector displayed the photos of my little one as the event rolled on, all the special dietary requirements were met, everything was magical! Even their flexibility was amazing they didn't make me feel like they wanted me to book with them just to squeeze out as much money as possible from me, which is what other places made me feel like. In fact I requested to not just bring in a cake externally but also a dessert. This dessert was sentimental because it was being handmade by the birthday girls nonna. And without a flinch Taha was like no problem!!!! The list goes on! Made my life easier! I'm such an organised person and like things a particular way and he just made things happen! Things like: - allowing me to drop off cake, backdrop, centrepieces the night before - following a floor plan so everyone sat in the right spaces - catered to babies and children to ensure they were included but didn't get in the way of the event - came around to make sure everything was okay with ALL the guests - the list goes on I seriously cannot fault these guys! In summary, look no further for your events, birthday, christenings, work functions, anything! These guys are so professional and most importantly didn't serve food that tasted like cardboard! Hahahah so generous with their portion sizes and delicious food! Most importantly! Grab their coffee and stare out onto the ocean views from their balcony, my words cannot do that experience justice. Just go do it!

Last Thursday (1 November 18) we decided to go back to Neptunes. We arrived around 7:30 PM, the restaurant downstairs was a little bit busy, probably due the hot day, many people decided to enjoy a dinner out of their home, like us. We sat up stair with a nice view from Brighton beach. At this time, we decided to try the Lychee Martini. The drinks arrived minutes later, just on point, not too sweet. During the service we asked for suggestions and the friendly waitress Alana was very helpful. For the dinner we chose the Salmon fillet with salad and my friend Barramundi fillet. 15 minutes later the plates were on the table, very well presented. Both meals were light and very delicious. To end up the night we chose 2 desserts, caramelised banana wood fired doughnut and Banoffe with choc crumble, both good, rich in flavour and a good size. Well done team! Thank you! ---27/10/18---------------------------------------------- My first time in Neptunes after their renovation. The menu looks great with nice options, however, we decided to order just 2 beef burgers. Well, something simple, but for our surprise, the order just arrived on the table 47 minutes later with the chips uncooked, burgers were dried, lack of good sauce, the bread was not tasting fresh. We also ordered iced tea, incredible took 20 min to receive. The place was not busy at all, plenty of empty tables. The staff were friendly, however, the service was very poor. They never came back to top up the water on the table. A couple just sitting in a different table were also complaining about how much more time they have to wait for their meal to arrive. Very disappointed!!!

We held our daughters christening here and had a great experience. The private function area upstairs is perfect for any medium sized party. We had approx 75 total people including kids and it was the perfect space. The ‘balcony’ (not a real balcony) has a lot of light and space and it was a beautiful spot to place decorations and cake.and we had our main table here. Shaneel and all the staff were amazing to deal with. Every staff member was smiling and extremely attentive to all of our guests. Shaneel went above and beyond and kept the entire planning stress free. He was very organised and recorded everything and any minor changes along the way I needed to make. We had lots of comments of from guests that the food quality and quantity was great. There was plenty of waiters and bar staff around our guests were not left waiting for anything, the children were served quickly as promised. The space between the meal courses was perfect. Tea and coffee were served at the end and they all came out hot and together (the coffee here is actually always good). Thank you Shaneel for all of you’re help we had a beautiful and memorable day and really appreciate your help :)

If I could give this restaurant zero stars I would. Booked for an 11:30 lunch for Mother’s Day this year , was told when we arrived that we had to wait for a table . 25min later they said they had a table . We sat down , ordered straight away - the waiter had no idea about the menu (it was a set menu) had to keep walking to someone else to ask . We ordered the food for the 4 of us & within 1hr & 45min we had only received the bread & calamari, which was wrong anyway because they only gave us 1 of each when we ordered 3 of each . No one there had any idea what they were doing. We sat upstairs & the waiters didn’t know the table numbers , one of them didn’t know what cutlery was. It was a complete mess! And a waste of a mother day lunch (which there was no lunch anyway because we barley ate) . We ended up letting them know we’re leaving & not paying . There was NO apology nothing! Tried to tell us the mains were ready and we would get ours straight away. It was besides the point no one is staying there for 2 hours to receive only 3 things at that point . Would not recommend going here especially if it was a set menu.

Last time we ate here about 10 months ago, the food was amazing. Plus it was usually always busy. I have a feeling there’s probably been a change of owners and there’s definitely been a change of menu since the last time I had been. Kicking myself that I didn’t check the menu before going in because when we sat down for lunch and had a look, it wasn’t the same. The servings and taste were somewhat lacking compared to the previous menu. Staff have also changed. Also saw a previous comment where a diner and their family noticed some of the staff being verbally abused. My husband overheard a similar interaction and mentioned how they should’ve at least taken it somewhere more private. My daughter has been nagging us to come back but will have to tell her it’s not the same and unfortunately we won’t be going back.

I dined in here last night with my 3 children, food was incredible, and I was greeted by 2 wait staff and they were friendly and accomodating. However, while me and my family were trying to enjoy our food we couldn't help but notice what was happening at the kitchen area. The chefs were all getting screamed at by this lady and was swearing at them. It was hard to ignore as other tables started to turn their heads and notice it too and my children started to feel uncomfortable. I even heard the 2 waitresses talking amongst themselves about how they felt scared and uneasy. I used to work in the hospitality industry and not once did I work at a restaurant that has their staff SCREAMED and CUSSED AT in front of their customers. Although the food was good and the wait staff service was amazing, me and my family will not be returning here because of this experience.

Every time I visit Neptunes I leave with the best impression - always happy with the food and service. From the moment you walk in you're greeted with happy friendly staff, and the ambience is nice with soft lighting. Arthur was great! He made us feel very welcome and he looked after us throughout the whole night. His hospitality is absolutely amazing - honestly the best service I've ever received from a restaurant. He has a great personality and big heart. He'll leave you walking out with a smile on your face. The food was great and very well presented. Finishing up with a Nutella pizza for dessert topped off the experience. The pizza base was super fresh and soft - hands down the best base, very good job guys. Thank you Arthur, chefs and staff for making our experience at Neptunes fantastic and memorable. I'll definitely be bringing more friends and family back to share the experience with.

Went into Neptune’s for an early dinner tonight, hoping we’d have the same experience we used to a few years back. Although the staff were very friendly and greeted us instantly, that’s about where the good experience ended for us today. My little one ordered mac and cheese which was pretty much pasta & melted plastic cheese, with a dash of Parmesan. I ordered the lamb shank, and expected an explosion of flavour because of the description but I was given the most bland tasting dish. The other 2 dishes were also nothing special and aren’t even worthy of being mentioned. For the price we paid, there were many better options around, that would have delivered a better quality and experience. Would not be returning there unfortunately.

Best restaurant in Brighton le Sands, hands down. Been a happy patron for over 20 years. Was extremely sad when they closed for reno but now that they've reopened it's better than ever! Really love the way they've refurbished the restaurant, and their washroom is also very tastefully finished. Come here for consistently great quality food at reasonable prices. On a number of occasions my host Taha has been wonderful and flexible with our orders with good recommendations. Scotch steak was unfortunately a little on the cool side (would have liked my steak piping hot). The new kale/quinoa salad is delicious! As well as the reliable sticky date pudding. They also have an extended list of mocktails which makes a non drinker like me very happy. Will be back for another 20!

We recently celebrated our daughters 18th at Neptunes and we were so glad we decided to host it here. The food was absolutely delicious and so frech, our guests lest feeling so full. The service was second to none and the atmosphere was perfect. Special thank you to katherine for going above and beyond, thanks to her I felt like a guest whist she took care of absolutely everything, I can't thank her enough. We will definitely be back to this little gem by the beach. Thank you Neptunes for making our celebration such a beautiful event. Highly recommend this place.

First time eating there tonight and we were all very impressed with the quality of the food and atmosphere. Best steak I've had for a while from a restaurant. The seafood was very fresh too. Will definitely go back. EDIT - we went back and that was the last time. How does a chef in a grill restaurant not know how to cook a steak medium rare??? Overcooked so I sent it back. 2nd one was blue. I asked them to cook it longer and it was a bit of a hassle for them. Obviously not the same chef as the first time we went. Hit and miss.

If you're looking for great Mediterranean food, this ain't it. If you're looking for good Mediterranean food, then you're probably in the right ball park. The food here is highly priced for what they offer. Their ribs were tough and dry, and the food was bland for the most part. Their hummus dip was nice, which was a saving grace. In a half filled restaurant, food had taken about an hour between entrees and mains. Service seems to be a little inconsistent as well.

It's our first time to visit the place. Me and my boyfriend enjoyed the food and the cocktail drinks. We didn't plan to drink that night but ended up drinking 3 cocktail drinks for myself. The lady bartender from the Philippines was so nice and accomodating. We will be back to try some more cocktail drinks and chat with her more because she is so funny and want to know more about Philippines. Great place to come and eat. I was very impressed with the serving size and quality of food. By far the best chicken schnitzel! Very moist and perfect crumbing. The pasta dish served was huge! Enough to feed 2 people. The carrots were very undercooked unfortunately but the eye fillet made up for that.. just delicious. The wait staff were lovely . It is alittle noisy in here with loud music ( this was turned down upon request) and lots of tables around..but overall was a great experience .I will definitely be coming back to try the other enticing meals they have in the menu.

We have been coming to this restaurant for years now as it was our favourite. What a disappointment it was to dine in today, it appears that new owners have taken over and completely have destroyed a great business. Way overpriced is an understatement and the original menu which was more Greek and seafood influenced has now changed to middle eastern. The grilled chicken that came with my salad was bland and dry. Pizzas however were reasonable but overall very Pricey for the quality of food.

What a disappointment...all show but no service and food so mediocre, you might as well stay at home. Heres a few pictures... 1. french toast that only tastes like egg (see pic) 2. Halumi and Zatar wrap too dry 3. Shakshuka - eggs cooked on top and not cooked in the sauce. 4. Couldnt finish any of the three dishes ordered. Never got served table water until finally caught the attention of the wait staff and asked for some. We were seated right at the front but indoors, almost like they ignored us on purpose. Very poor effort Neptunes. I Expected so much more.

Had the best time celebrating my parents' birthdays and son's baptism here yesterday. They accommodated so much of our requests-- from the moment we booked and on the day of the event. The service was just above our expectations, the team treated us as if we know them already. Food is unquestionably delicious and served in big portions. All the seafood platters tasted fresh and the meat platters were properly cooked. Thank you so much! Hope to dine here again soon!

This place has amazing Mediterranean food with great quality and flavours. The portions are quite big so be mindful while ordering. The menu is quite extensive with lot of options to choose from. We really loved their wood fired bread, salad and chilli chicken. The staff is also really great and Sonu was very courteous and helpful. Really recommend this place.

A lovely surprise. It’s been many years since I’ve been to Neptunes and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of service, food and drinks. Everything was excellent. We ordered frozen Pina Coladas which tasted amazing. We shared a seafood plate which had so much food on it. Everything was fresh and delicious. We had prawns, oysters, barramundi, octopus, calamari, mussels and lots of chips. The Greek salad was beautifully dressed in a delicious olive oil which reminded of of Greece.

Excellent customer service!!! Thank you Cathrine and Helen. The restaurant unexpectedly became very busy and both of them handled it perfectly. Not only that but they gave lots of attention to every customer with a smile on their face. Even managed to light a candle on a cake and sing a happy birthday to a surprised little girl! Neptune’s has always been a family favourite before and after their renovations. Beautiful restaurant/cafe food and beverages. Seating is very comfortable and accommodates for various group sizes. Staff are very prompt and friendly, and the decor is very fresh. Menu items are very well priced and of great value. My personal favourites are the grilled salmon and the Neptune’s big breakfast (pictured below without bacon). Coffee and beverages are also fantastic.

Was very disappointing experience am not sure if it's because we went on Monday but the waiter was really bad and very rude... Both stakes were inconsistent. One was just full of fat, and the other one overcooked my ontre. It was supposed to be on a hot plate. The plate was cold and rusty .... over all, I will not go back again !!!

A beautiful cafe located right opposite to the beach at Brighton. Comfortable seating and very polite staff. Food was great , mind your appetite before ordering anything. They have generous servings and you could be full quite quickly. The hot chocolate and chai was a bit watery, which I guess was due to the technical issue on the coffee machine. They acknowledged the issue and quickly made me a take away hot choc. I would surely return to this place.

It's ok. I got the lamb shank and it was ok but a little underwhelming, the rice was a little dry and not too flavorful, the lamb was pretty tender and tasty, but also a little dry, and the babaganoush was good but not as good as the one from other restaurants nearby. Overall decent but definitely not great for the price.

My partner and I shared a crepe and it was really nice! The presentation was absolutely beautiful, and although we didnt order any savoury foods, they did look and sound really delicious. The entire restaurant itself is stunning and gorgeous. It has such a unique design and is really fitting for a beach-side restaurant. Absolutely would come back if given the opportunity!

Lovely evening with great food and friendly service. Good value for money for the portion sizes and we were able to take leftovers home. Also, delicious! The staff were very friendly and attentive and it had a lovely atmosphere!

The food was great but the service was not. It was fathers day so this may have affected their service. We arrived at 2pm and at 3.30pm I went to find someone to serve us!! 1.5 hours of just sitting waiting for service was ridiculous and we all said, this food better be good!! When food and service finally came, all was good.

Food was great. There was only one or two wait staff and we had to wait ages every single time we wanted to order, or to ask for a drink, to get napkins or cutlery because none was given to us despite having had our food delivered. We had to keep getting up to grab someone’s attention. They did not even have a full restaurant.

Was very impressed here. Food was amazing! The meatballs are no joke. They're super juicy and not dry at all. The cheese on the meatballs was so good! Loved the calamari as well. Definitely worth getting! The interior is so pretty. We had ocean views and had fun people and car watching.

Ordered a chicken dish and had to return it as it was over cooked and not edible Service was slow & kept trying to get someone's attention Meals didn't all come out together which was annoying. It was only 3 Meals and they were served 10 minutes apart! Won't be going back

Went for lunch on a Thursday afternoon. Met by very friendly staff members. Had a couple of cocktails which were excellent. I had a steak and my guest had a pasta dish. The steak was excellent accompanied with vegetables. My partner said the pasta was excellent and throughout the service was both timely and friendly. I enjoyed it immensely.

Came here with family for the creamy pasta funghi and I discovered a hair in it. The waitress was lovely and I got a replacement but the replacement had 50% chicken and 50% pasta but the original pasta I ordered had no chicken so I was confused but it was okay. My experience was sad but the food was good at least.

Wow, I’m so impressed with the generosity of portion size of the Ramadan special, including a full rack of Ribs, chicken skewers, a whole container of dates etc. The food quality was absolutely on point. portion was more than enough for 2 people. My Fiancée and I had such a lovely experience at Neptunes. The food was absolutely amazing, the drinks refreshingly delicious and the staff were pretty awesome. Prices aren't bad at all, and the ambience is amazing. Definitely recommend them, and we'll definitely be back.

Service was great and we loved our entrees especially the dips, but the meatballs and the seafood platter we had for mains were so oily they were unpleasant to eat. They didn't taste as if any of the oil had been drained at all, they just went straight form the deep fryer to the plate.

Love the ambience of this place and the view is amazing I would definitely recommend! Staff is very friendly and accommodating and even through the phone customer service was great. The food is great and the seafood platter was delicious. Location is great too with very close parking available on the street.

Our first time here so I would give it another go because the food was good. The low rating was because our coffee was cold and the waitress was very unfriendly and unhelpful. Our drink orders were wrong and I put that down to the mood of the waitress we had.

Rakan was our server for lunch on the Queens Birthday Weekend. He was charming and humorous in a very engaging way, and although it wasn’t his usual day of work, treated our table to a laugh and great manners. Food was nice and venue was pleasant but quite loud. This place has a great atmosphere and is in a great location. Right across from the beach, very nice menu and friendly staff. Walked in here on Sunday night with some family. The service was great, they quickly organised and cleaned a table for us.. the food is nice and it came out really quick too. The servings are a little small for the price that you pay but the atmosphere is really nice and waiters are friendly.

The food was adequate but the experience would have been better if our main course had not been delivered to the table well before we had finished our entree.

Great service and ambience. Clean and reasonably priced restaurant. Food was okay, the chicken mushroom needed more sauce. Chicken pieces were also very small. Very very generous with the beans. A bit too much. Wasn't a balanced dish. The s&p calamari was very flavoursome.

Amazing food and outstanding service by the team that makes us go back there regularly. All staff, in particular, Ayush and Honey are super friendly and attentive even whilst it's super busy. Highly recommend Neptunes.

A great place for dining. There was a variety of food which was top quality. It was a busy night when we went so service was a bit slow but the waiters and waitresses were very responsive and kept checking in on us and apologising.

Our family went there for dinner, we were greeted as soon as we walked in the door, We were seated and water on the table straight away, Helen our server was amazing, she guided us through the menu and let us know about the food.

Great range of tasty and fresh Mediterranean dishes, pizzas, burgers and drinks. Share platters are available for couples and groups. Depending on the time can be noisy and crowded. For busier times consider booking ahead.

Nice location on Brighton with decent food though a bit pricey for what it is. The squid was very good as was the Haloumu sandwich. The portions may benefit from being a bit smaller, felt like too much food.

Delicious comfort food by the waters! Highly recommend the halloumi - so fragrant & well seasoned with sweetness! Great ambience and friendly service too!
