In a gloomy, rainy Seattle evening, I was craving for something very comforting. What else can beat the gloominess, than a bowl of hot chicken broth, so I managed to convince my colleagues to this bookmarked Vietnamese place for a bowl of pho. Did read the not so great reviews on the service quality of this place, but as a braven soul to beat the weather I plunged deep into New Saigon Vietnamese Restaurant. After getting quickly seated & handed down our menus, there were options aplenty on the Pho Front, to choose from. I chose the Pho Ga, a chicken soup for the soul, while my other friends ordered a Beef Pho & a Vegetarian Pho. Less than 10 minutes, my hot fragrant Pho Ga arrived with an extra helping of basil, chilli slices, bean sprouts & some lemon wedges. The Pho was delicious, and had packed a lot of flavour from the chicken broth, the cilantro, & the long slices of shredded chicken itself. With the rice noodles, this was a warm & perfect meal to end my day 2 in Seattle. Was too full with the Pho Ga, yet I was greedy to try their Shrimp & Chicken Fried & reserved it for my next visit. Well, coming to the service, I personally did not fell that it was off. Both the staff that served us very polite, friendly, helped us order the right portion sizes, tried to help us choose a vegetarian pho for my colleague. Yeah there was this one thing, we were finishing our drinks after the meal, 10 mins beyond their usual closing time, & we were requested to finish & leave soon in a hurried tone, but that’s just this one thing. A great place for some yummy Pho, vegetarian friendly, decent price point in downtown Seattle. New Saigon Vietnamese Restaurant, am definitely coming back for more.
Today I witnessed the most disgusting thing with the pho garnishes (bean sprouts, mint/basil leaves, jalepeno slices, lime/lemon slices). I was sitting at the end of the bar area and next to me was a counter by the dirty dish bins where the bussers would leave the dirty bowls, dishes, garnishing plates for pho/soup orders. An older Vietnamese guy (who looks like a boss/owner type), picked off a stem of basil leaves off one of the plate he just bussed from a table and tossed on top of another garnishing plate that was sitting on the counter for a while. Then about 5 minutes later the lady (who was from the kitchen and who delivered orders to the customers), came around and picked up the used garnish plates, put them on the middle tier of her 3 tiered cart and wheel it back to the kitchen. They could have been more secretive about it and hiding it from their customer, but no. It was done in plain sight! They should just take the garnish plates directly to the kitchen instead, duh! I've always wondered what Pho restaurants does with the leftovers pho/soup garnishes and there you have it. I won't be back here ever again!
I was wandering around and saw the sign that said they have vegetarian pho, so I decided to stop in. They have several vegetarian options, in fact, including two pho. I ordered the fresh spring rolls with tofu and the vegetable pho. I came in at an odd time (around 3:30), but there were others eating, as well. Service was excellent. The staff was friendly, they paid attention to my body language - noting when I was ready to order, when I wanted more water, when I was ready for the bill - and saw to my needs quickly. Forks, chopsticks and soup spoons were all on the table so customers can choose the utensils they wanted. A napkin holder and various condiments were on the table, too. The food was decent, but bland. However, sriracha and soy sauce were both on the table, so that could be somewhat remedied. Still, I would have liked more flavor in the pho. Overall, if you're looking for a decent pho place that includes some vegetarian options, this is worth a try.
The cashier at this place tried to keep my change without asking. Came here for pho since it's close to my house, the bill was $9.85, I gave the cashier a $10 and to my disbelief he took my $10 and closed the drawer. I then just stood there and looked at him with the "ummmm give me my change look" he then smiles, says "oh your change" and gives it to me. This was not an honest mistake as you can tell they do this quite often. This almost made me take the tip back I left on the table. Just beware of the cashier if you eat here, he seems to be a specialist in stealing change hoping people don't say anything because it's only a few cents, it's not about the 15 cents to me that's straight up disrespectful!!! Will never visit this place again and will advice anyone I know to avoid this place. I bet he makes a lot of money throughout the year stealing people's change
I am an avid Pho, eater. Whenever I travel, I try to find a good pho place and have had in over a dozen US cities. The pho here at New Saigon Seattle is pretty good, it is not the best I've ever had, but I'm glad I tried it. I had the pho Tai (rare beef) my son had the pho GA (chicken) the broth on both was good but seemed to be missing something, (maybe anise) it did not have the depth of flavor some of the best places have, but flavorful enough with the Thai basil, jalepno and Sriracha added. Our service was fine but they were not busy either. The biggest reason for 4 stars might not even be a restaurant issue and more of a Seattle issue, it was the most expensive pho I've ever had. ( more then NYC )
I've passed this place for years. What a mistake. It's my new favorite spot. I was a bit concerned because of the time we had available but never said anything. We were seated, ordered and eating in less than 10 minutes. The springrolls were a little stuck together like they had been sitting around but inside they were super fresh. The greens were perfect, rice moist. They were much larger than I expected and the side sauce was great. Both entrees we're good sized and tasted excellent and very fresh. The Tofu Pad Thai, I often don't care for because the noodles are gummy, but here they weren't at all like that and the Tofu was cut in nice long sizes an excellent dish. I can't wait to go back.
My go-to place in downtown when I get overwhelmed with my over all day that went from work or even just spending time in downtown. Quite and solemn place to relax with unwinding music while feeding yourself with descent food that's worth the price. There is some couple charging station if your phone is about to die. The food is good not great but not bad. There's nothing I can complain about. I come here often to get away from the busy downtown I love but also hate. Thank goodness this place exist. The food is serve with much respect. I highly recommend this place not expecting too much. It's not a luxury place but the place is well maintained and spotless clean! Worth stopping by!
Friendly staff, great prices, delish food. I had the chicken pho and my friend ordered chicken and pork banh mi sandwiches (one to take home). The pho was rich and flavorful and my friend said the sandwich was delicious—and the other was terrific hours later for dinner. It’s open until 10pm 7 days a week. I just found my new take out pho place!

This is a Vietnamese restaurant in a prime shopping district and blocks away from the historic Pike Place Market. It is located one flight of stairs down from street level. There is no elevator, so if you cannot handle stairs, this restaurant is not for you. The menu offers noodle soups, stir fried noodles including pad thai, grilled meats over rice and cold vermicelli bowls topped with grilled meats. There is also an unusually large menu section of vegetarian choices. The quality and portions of menu items are pretty standard, but expect to pay more, considering this restaurant is in the middle of a high rent district.
Wow, Soo good and cheap. Nearly every entree is 10.99 to 12.99. they have Thai tea and Vietnamese coffee. I had the chicken curry soup with rice, Soo good. My daughter had sweat and store chicken, also Soo good and fill of red bell peppers, my mom had shrimp pho and it came with tons of veggies and a respectable amount of shrimp. All portions were more than we could eat. We left full without feeling overstuffed and remained that way the rest of the night. I will be back as often as I can. This is my new favorite asian restaurant that I have ever been to, when you take cost into the factoring.
Visiting Seattle while waiting for an Alaskan cruise. Spent the day sightseeing and found this quiet underground Vietnamese restaurant that was an excellent choice. The food was served promptly and the customer service experience was great. There low popular music playing and the overall atmosphere was pleasant.

The hole-in-the-wall experience at its finest. Food is pretty good and nicely affordable. Service is okay though it can swing very wildly depending on the time of day and such. Location in general is of course awful unless you're already walking by, but if you are on foot and in the area, especially if you're attending an event at the Washington State Convention Center, it's a great place to sneak off for a quiet meal in a place that will be less likely to be mobbed.
Stopped here after a day of shopping for handmade gifts and I needed something comforting. I had item C32, a vermicelli bowl with grilled chicken and shrimp. I meant to order one with a spring roll, but I got too excited. I also ordered a Vietnamese coffee which was delightful. Service was quick, efficient, and kind. They have a lot of fabulous vegetarian options and a separate menu so you don't have to look at the whole menu searching for the vegetarian items.
Amazing vegan broth! it is the best I have ever had. We will not miss this spot when we are in town again. If you are looking for vegan/vegetarian food skip the busy spots and come here.

Food and service was good. I was a little disappointed that there were no sauces in the to-go bag for my Pho, but that was pretty much on me for not asking or looking in the bag. I like the chilli sauce, fish sauce, etc. So make sure you get some before you leave if you like that too! I will definitely eat here again.

I think it is in business just because enough people stumble in here wondering around the area. The food was nothing to get excited about. Prices were decent, but not a place I would rush back to with all the other great places to choose from. If you are going to run a restaurant in the greater Seattle area, you better be serving great food, because the choices are endless and many of them are putting out great food.
Stopped in after a show at the Paramount hoping for quick service and good food. We got both. It was not busy and we were seated and our orders were in within ten minutes. I opted for two appetizers and they were hot and just what wanted. My wife had the pork and shrimp vermicelli. She said it was very good but would have like the sauce that was served separately to be hotter. Great service and we left satisfied.
When the chef, host, waiter and bartender are all from the same Vietnamese family, chances are, the food will be great. Such is the case at New Saigon which has great Vietnamese food at a very reasonable price. The Pho is very satisfying, especially on a cold rainy day... perfect for Seattle. There may be better Vietnamese restaurants in the Seattle area, but none as convenient to downtown as New Saigon.
The person serving the food dropped a spoon on the floor and then put it back on the plate she was serving and gave it to the customer. We were incredulously horrified. Then she did it again. We did not say anything and ate there, but we will not be eating there again. If this is something they do in front of the house with many people watching, what do they do behind the scenes?
I stopped here for the fist time to pick up some lunch before work. I thought the prices were a bit high but I thought it was worth a try. To my delight the wonton noodle soup I ordered was beyond my expectations. They gave me the broth separate from everything else. The wontons were delicious and the plate was well served for the price. I will definitely be coming back.
I love the quiet atmosphere at 4pm it’s such a vibe. The service is pretty normal and the food’s pretty good. I like the broken rice dish with grilled chicken since it’s soft n savory! The a1 special has good broth. The thai iced tea was my favorite! Im kinda sensitive to sweets but this one had a good balance.

The Pho broth is delicious, that's my way of judging how the rest of the food is going to be. I always get the Pho tai with extra veggies...so yummy and huge portion, have 1/2 left for the next day. Quick service for take-away. Very friendly family operation. The restaurant is clean, below the street level right next to Eileen Fischer's clothing. Give them a try.
This isn't the best Vietnamese restaurant I've been to, but the pho is good, the service is quick, and prices are very affordable. However, there isn't really any Banh Mi on the menu, and it's easy to miss the restaurant itself - from the street it looks like just a tiny door, but it actually leads down to a decently sized space on a basement level.
If I could give this restaurant zero star I would. Terrible noodles! I went and ordered Singapore noodle and I told the lady they had no flavor (no curry) and she told me someone else had said the same thing and when she asked her manager to discount or take it off he said no. He didn’t come over and apologize or anything. I will never go back.
This place is a diamond in the rough. I was a little skeptical, I don't normally like going to places that make me go up and down stairs to get in and out, but the pho here is worth it. The service was a little slow compared to some of the other pho restaurants I've been to, but I would come here again the next time I'm in Seattle for sure.
A Taste of Saigon in Seattle! Delicious vermicelli with pork, Pho Ga, Pho Bo, (chicken and beef) and dishes for the family. Would recommend.

Terrible!!!! Walk in and there is a sign -Please wait to be seated-Host yells out - How many? To which I reply 1. He says - find a seat. I go to an open table. He chases me down and says -you need 4 people for that table. Thanks - I'll spend my money where I'm treated a little better. Looked kind of shady anyways. Not very clean.
First time trying Vietnamese food, and my first time in Seattle. I tried the Grilled Pork, Vermicelli, and eggroll. Very yummy 9/10, and the people there are pretty friendly. I would love to try again if I am ever on this side of the U.S. again.

The food was decent, nothing amazing. I ordered vermicelli stir fry that came out pretty soggy but still edible. We had to ask for our drinks three times after our food had already arrived. We ate here because it was not very expensive. This wouldn't be my first choice but I'd still eat here if I had to.
Love this place! I went there randomly because of my hotel where is closed. But the pho there was amazing to enjoy! Dont know why this place only got 3.9! Personally i love this place! Also the staff there is so nice

Located down a flight of stairs, the restaurant was clean and quiet, a stark contrast to the busy street outside you walk in from. Highly recommend checking this place out if you're trying to escape the hustle and bustle of downtown, while still on a budget. The Pho is good, and so is the Vermicelli.
The food was good (not great, but not bad either - solid 'B'), the service was non-existent. One of about three customers in the restaurant so it wasn't as though they were overtasked. Snarly waiter never returned after taking order, cashier just walked away when I said 'Thank You'. Will not return.
I thought this was a nice place but it’s was the worst experience of my life for food. The person at the front was very “friendly” . I feel like I didn’t get treated right. He make everything feel so heavy. The food was alright, but definitely not coming back. Not worthy.

A guy who seemed to be the manager or the owner threw a high chair at my baby cousin. Wanted to leave but only stayed to feed my cousin, but he ended up seeing a cockroach climbing one of the chopsticks on the table, then started crying. Worst tasting pho as well.I hope we don't get sick today.
Be aware of this restaurant. The guy he always over charge. One time I went there for lunch a couple week ago. I ordered more soup on the side. That time he didn’t charge me for the extra small bowl but today he charged me for that. It not even say how much for extra small bowl of the soup.
Super friendly staff, food came very quickly perfect place if you want a quick bite. Great vegetarian selection too!

Great tasting Pho and friendly service. I've eaten a lot of pho and this place was better than most; not too salty, and you can taste how clean it is. It might look sketch when you jave to go downstairs, bit its far from a hole in the wall. Highly recommend getting your pho fix here.
Average quality pho. Cost about 18 dollars. They charged for take out packaging (I think) but the packaging wasn't conducive to actually having pho in my hotel room. I will avoid next time I am in Seattle.

This restaurant has it's own unique flavor and style. The food was on par with all the other similar restaurants I've eaten at. Excellent broth flavor in their Phó, noodles were just right and service was acceptable. A bit above average... Still some room for improvement.
Some of the best pho you'll encounter on the west side. Rich broth, plenty of selection, short wait after ordering, and a cozy environment. Only significant downside is the lack of portion sizes- the dishes are limited to one size, which is not always the correct one.
Located down in the basement of another store, as you enter the signage will lead you to the dining area. Food is ok, a bit pricey, I'd rather go to Tamarind tree if to look for authenticity and flavor. Place is clean to the level of it's location. Quick service.
I ordered Bún Thịt Nướng for takeout. Quick service and it was a good portion size. I wish there was more carrot and daikon in the dish, but, it was still good. I was surprised how many steps there are to actually get to the restaurant.

Food is mediocre, absolutely no difference from any other pho place around including the price. Big difference? Cutlery is never clean and they will tag on an automatic 20% tip to the bill. Skip this place and move on to the next, you’ll be glad for it.

When in town I was craving some noodles on a chilly day. This place hit the spot right away. Loved that it was 1/2 a block away from my hotel. Soup was good and the serving size was large. Would come here again when in town.

The soup is not hot. Its like a pre-made thing. Also, one of the staff let me seat in the right front of door even if there's many seat. I said I want to seat another seat, he keep saying that wait. Rest of them are better.
We had two pho, we were served in 5 minutes. We also got 2 take out entrees , EVERYTHING taste AMAZING, It was clean and a large dining area, the syaff was very attentive. $48 total for 4 meals. highly suggest this place.
Pretty bad. I got the roll with meat and vermicelli noodle. Got it to go. 75% of the meal was noodle. My sauce cup was empty. It tasted alright, but now my stomach hurts bad. Not sure what's in their food but stear clear.
If you're in the downtown area for some quick authentic dishes then I highly recommend this place. I'm usually here twice a month and get my food in 10 minutes or so. I'm a big fan of their shrimp and chicken fried rice.
Fantastic Pho and quick service. I think it is a little underrated due to it's location below street level. The soup is very good. It's a great lunch spot with very little wait, if you need to do lunch in under 45 min.
Went for lunch during PAX 2016 and was able to get seated almost immediately. It took some time to get our orders in. I ordered spring rolls and the Pho Special. The food didn't stand out in any way but it was filling.

As a Vietnamese who've just moved to Seattle, I was thoroughly impressed with the selection of dishes here. The food is really good, especially the shrimp salad. The service could be a hit or miss though
Glad I finally stopped here after years of walking by.. was craving a not-too-heavy lunch and the grilled shrimp bun (dry noodle bowl) was perfect- the basil and veggie toppings were just what I needed!
We are coming from Singapore and definitely looking for rice for our meal then we found this restaurant with reasonable price for the food especially in downtown area. Please serve with smile :)
Cool location under the building. Clean environment and fast service. The pho was pretty good, lots of meat and noodles. Priced pretty well compared to others, should check out at least once.
We enjoyed this place. Quiet, peaceful, friendly. Got a tasty plain dish with plenty of fresh veggies and tofu. Veggie egg rolls also very tasty, with some unusual spice I could not identify.
Friendly and fast service. We were in the mood for Pho; I had rare beef with tripe, my daughter shrimp. Both were delicious. The shrimp Pho was beautiful with bright broccoli and bok choy.
Ordered Shrimp pho and it comes with a side of bamboo shoots, jalapeno and basil. The pho was amazing for a cold afternoon. Definitely recommend this place! Service was quick as well.
I think the restaurant is nice. However, its cleanliness rating is lower than what I expected. This will be a factor consumers might want to consider when thinking about dining here.
Good place to go if you really need pho. Service is lacking and borderline rude at times. If you are willing to get out of the shopping area, there are better places to go.
I had the Pho with raw beef and it's was pretty decent. It had the right amount of beef and the broth was just ok. The location is in the basement so there are no windows.
Ordered the shrimp spring rolls with peanut sauce and the rare steak pho. Thought both were ample in size. It wasn't lacking meat and noodles with the soup! Good flavor.
Great food, lots of options for vegetarian folks, quick service, cozy environment! Can't wait to eat down here once infection rates come down. You won't be disappointed!

Best Vietnamese food and service in the downtown core. Below ground between Pike and Pine on 6th Ave. Priced higher than in the international district however.
I found a baby roach in my pho! I brought it to the attention of the wait staff and left immediately. I will never eat at this place after that experience.
Speciality Singapore noodles "spicy"- I got minuscule chicken, and rice noodles with a handful of thin veg but completely without spices :( Awful, shame.
