My experience today has been interesting. When arriving here, you must trust Google Maps is telling you the truth that the building is where it is because it is difficult to identify, especially if there is construction going on still in front of it. Entering the building is pretty close to airport security. So prepare for an extra 10 minutes of waiting. The staff were nice and cordial for the most part. An officer assisted me to take the proper elevator, as there restrictions to floors based on elevators you take. The building might be confusing at first, but if you have one place to go you'll find yourself an easy ride. Besides that, I'd recommend to not go into the bathrooms, specifically the men's. It was dirty in different capacities; no mirrors; the toilets I had to choose the cleanest one Because this is a government building and more of a process out of my hands I judged it base on what experience I received.

Disgusting costumer service. The representative that was working on September 20th, 2022, at 1:33pm, was rude and very unprofessional. She kept hanging up on me before I can even ask her anymore questions about telephone numbers I needed. At some point she knew it was me calling back, therefore she picked up the phone and hung it up right back. Then when she finally picked up, I asked her why she keeps hanging up on me, she said because she already gave me a number and I keep asking questions, then she said that she "AIN'T" no lawyer and that there were no supervisors available and refused to give me her name. It seems like she took advantage of the situation of no supervisors being available to be disrespectful, while I kept professional and calmed through the whole call. I just wanted information that she refused to give me. This is where our taxes are going; to unprofessional people like her. DISGUSTING!

This is a special place, you can watch people present their case in front of a judge from 11 PM till 3 AM. You have an early flight out of LaGuardia and you can't sleep ? Go to night court on Centre Street. It's all criminal cases, you'll see suspects handcuffed to cops as they await their turn. I have to say that the cops from the court system look pretty rough with tattoos and all and if it weren't for uniforms it would be hard to tell cops apart from the people they process. Even public defenders look like they are either straight out of college or they're 80 years old. Prosecutors are barely aware of the cases , it looks like they get to look at the files for the first time when they present their case to the judge. Overall a very interesting experience.

The New York County Criminal Court is located at 100 Center Street in downtown Manhattan. The building is imposing to say the least. It is 1 of the many tall storic buildings in the Civil Center area that was builded to last. There is a South and a North entrance at 100 Center Street, and there is a back entrance that exits into Baxter Street & Columbus Park. All employees must show their Government issued ID to access entry into the building, and all visitors must go through a security check to gain access into the building. The building is also connected to the Manhattan Detention Center aka MDC, and or is known as Metropolitan Correctional Center, and MDC is manned by NYC Dept. of Corrections.

I went to prison for 10yrs and did 5yrs post for a crime I was never indicated for because a grand jury voted no bill! They kidnapped me and used the broken rules of the judicial system to lie about. After yrs of litigation and complaints an investigation was conducted regarding my original and superseding indictments (06379-07 & 1402-08) The courts said they lacked jurisdiction to due anything to help me and I was outside the statute of limitation. I was robbed and set up by the police of the 77 percent because I refuse to write a statement on a co defendant who robbed a white woman in a lone act. My name is Maurice Newman.

I have been trying to get in touch with somebody ANYBODY at this location However all i have heard for the past 3 hours is : "you have reached the NY county central clerk office at 100 centre street all operators are currently busy please try your call again. " What is the purpose of answering the phone just to have us listen to the above message? Isn't it best to let us hear a busy signal instead? I know I would prefer that! I really don't want to leave 1 star because I haven't dealt with anyone at this location yet. So, the 1 star is strictly because i am unable to talk with anyone.

I’m here for one reason only Jury Duty selection. We’re just hanging around in the Jury room waiting to be called. The security was friendly and helpful and line to go through the metal detector was quick. The clerk was very helpful, friendly and make sure that the process was done quickly. Overall the experience was not bad and we was sent home by around 3:30pm along with a letter. The only downside was the restroom which is stuck in time. They have the old sink with the old faucet which you need to turn individually for hot/cold water.

One of our favorite courthouses. The clients and solo Attorneys our system matched have had this to say about this courthouse: Staff is helpful with navigating the courthouse, best to take public transportation with construction, dated but still clean. Because of construction get to the courthouse early! Lines do form early in the morning. Be on time and you'll be okay. And if you see our team, we'll give you a big smile to help jumpstart your day!

I mean how can I rate this place high. I'll give it a middle mark because it's suppose to be fair and balanced but the manipulation and the abuse of power from district attorney to keep their so called streak alive for convictions is unethical, disgusting and evil. Truth always seaps it's way to the surface and all shall be captured and taught their lesson on hiding the truth. Stop engrossing facts DA.

In dire need of a remodel. Place looks like it’s stuck in the mid-80s. Even the other courts talk about the Criminal Court having disgusting facilities and the juror’s room (for the selected jurors) has no snack machine or access to coffee even though you cannot leave once escorted in by court officers (who were actually cool). Seriously though, it’s time to fix this dump up.

Modern day definition of Babylon god does not exist here. Freedom, civil rights and anything making you a human being kiss it goodbye. The few judges that are here for the right reasons are greatly overwhelmed by the ones that want your money. Stay away at all cost for the devil is at work here. Best of luck to the judges fighting a losing battle.

Most of the time, if you are here, you're going to have a bad time. So there's that. Not to mention everyone working there has been there or is going to be there for the next few eternities. I like the architecture, but, dealing with the officers and the clerks is like pulling your own teeth with scissors.

I called in. A woman answered who sounded really miserable. I asked my question. She didn't wait for me to finish and said hold on, then transferred me to a different extension. A message then said, this mailbox doesn't accept messages, your call cannot continue. Then I was disconnected.

When I was 13 I got kidnapped. They caught the kidnappers & sentenced them to order of protection no jail time. I tried shoplifting 2 coats they sentenced me to 3 to 6 years in prison. Not only they got the conviction by illegal means using a case law over my attorney objection.

Hard to get anyone on the phone hard to get an email back if you have any questions let’s not forget when you go in the building they’ll have you wait on the line but treat you like absolute garbage as if your a criminal just because your a topical black,Hispanic male…

  • Jessica Lora

I call from open to close and no one ever answers the phone. I don't understand how a clerk office can be so busy that even when opening at 9am they cannot answer phones. That is horrible service!!!

  • ty wil

Terrible trying to get through to someone to find out what you need. Then when you finally get through the person is nasty in miserable "get a new job then" there is obviously no supervision there

  • Shelton Ross

Judge James J Gibbons is incompetent the doubts were reasonable and his judgment was in favor of New York's most crooked police officers. Never again will I rely on a man's judgment.

  • Lateesha Cummings

The woman who answered was so rude. I'm not from NY and I asked her the zip code she says (with a smart attitude) to me she doesn't know I have to look It up on line.
