Nick Scali: Mixed Bag - Positive Sales, Frustrating Post-Sales Experience I recently made a purchase from Nick Scali in November 2023, and while the initial sales experience was positive, the post-sales journey has left much to be desired. Upon making the purchase, the salesperson was courteous and made promises regarding the flexibility of delivery dates, understanding our concern about potential delays in our new home's readiness. We were assured that changing the delivery date, if necessary, could be easily done over the phone. As mid-November approached, we began receiving texts urging us to pay the balance and organize immediate delivery. When I contacted the company to explain that our house handover had been postponed, the dispatch team displayed complete rudeness and inflexibility. They insisted on proceeding with the original delivery date or potentially handing our order to someone else, suggesting we'd have to wait until the next shipment in February or March 2024. This posed a significant inconvenience, especially considering the sentimental value of the purchased item intended for our prayer room upon moving into our new home. Frustrated with this response, I visited the store again on 2023 December 26th to speak with a salesperson. Despite my previous assurances, I encountered the same resistance from the salesperson, prompting me to express my frustration more assertively. Only then did the salesperson agree to change the delivery date and sent an email to the dispatch team. However, the ordeal did not end there. Within just two days, I received three texts demanding payment and immediate delivery, despite the rescheduling agreement. Contacting the dispatch team again on 2023 December 28th was met with another disappointing encounter – the representative was extremely rude and impatient, displaying a lack of courtesy and professionalism. Throughout our conversation, there was a notable absence of pleasantries such as "please," "sorry," or "thank you." Adding to the frustration is the revelation that there is no pick-up option available, and payment for delivery must be made in cash upon receipt. This further complicates the customer experience, as modern payment methods are generally preferred for convenience and security. This experience has been disheartening, especially considering that I had already invested my money in good faith. I strongly urge Nick Scali to improve their after-sales customer service. A brand's reputation should extend beyond the sales floor, ensuring a consistent and positive experience for customers throughout their entire journey. Just because Nick Scali is a prominent brand does not justify poor treatment of customers. While the sales aspect was pleasant, the post-sales service has been disappointingly sour. Given my experiences, I am now hesitant to make future purchases from Nick Scali, especially when I have had more positive interactions with other furniture brands like Coco Republic and Koala Living.

Absolutely disappointed in the service this store has. I went in wanting to buy a couch and was assisted by a salesman, Mitchel who was HORRIBLE. He was very rude, didn't know how to treat customers and kept tricking us with the price. First he said the couch was a certain price and when we sat down to discuss it further, he told us a higher price and pretended he had already told us. Then after we had placed the order, signed papers and PAID the deposit, he said we have no choice but to pay $110 for delivery which WASN'T optional. When i asked why he didn't tell us before we signed he said " I'm sure i did". He also told us we have 3 days in case we wanted to cancel or change the order until it was finalised. So, right before i left just to confirm i asked AGAIN what the conditions were for the 3 days of changing/cancelling order, he rushed us really quickly and just stated "you can change or cancel only within the three days" whilst proceeding to stand up and walk. Later that day i found a similar (and better quality ) couch for HALF the price so i called Nick Scali to cancel the order. Mitchel was put on the line because he proceeded the order and after getting my bank details to transfer the deposit, he said " there is a $45 cancellation fee that applies". I was utterly SHOCKED, DISAPPOINTED and OUTRAGED that this was THE FIRST TIME i was hearing about this fee and the way Mitchel had stated it as if we knew. I told him i wasn't aware of this and if i had known i would've made sure i didn''t want to cancel the item. He responded "well im pretty sure i told you which is why i placed the order" Not only was he DISRESPECTFUL but very UNPROFESSIONAL in how he handled the matter. Paying $45 is no fuss but i expected him to at least explain the incident or even apologise for not clarifying earlier. No sincere or care in his tone only sarcasm and rudeness. Will NEVER BE SHOPPING FROM HERE. Please either train your staff or hire people who are at least half as decent as the one that served me.

A friend had a horrible experience with them lately. Here is what she said happened.... """"My Mum purchased a Soli entertainment cabinet from Nick Scali Furniture (with a matching coffee table) in January 2017. She noticed that the handles on the Entertainment Unit started to peel in the middle of this year. A complaint was logged with Nick Scali’s customer service department, which included being put on hold for 25 mins. As a result of speaking with their consultant, it was agreed that an assessor would come out and inspect the damaged handles. This occurred in August 2018, and he advised that the handle would be replaced. Both my Mum and I received a text confirming the replacement was ordered on 30 August 2018. In the last 2 months my mum has tried calling the Customer Service department on 2 occasions and in both instances she had to wait more than 30 mins before someone answered her calls. In each instance, the customer service representative told her that someone would get back to her. Neither time was there a call, a message or any follow up to advise of delays or any updates. It would have been appreciated if some follow up on a manufacturing fault attributed to Nick Scali Furniture occurred and this issue was resolved but to date it has not been. This service is horrendous as the fault is in the furniture manufacture and the assessor confirmed this. The quality of their furniture is poor however the service is worse. I want everyone to know about this experience we had with Nick Scali Furniture and I will be providing this review on other review websites also."""" Terrible shopping experience, definitely NOT recommended!!! This is the second time I have bought nick scali's furniture, and both times it was a terrible experience. The first time I bought the dining table, the packaging was extremely simple, and the table panel was cracked when I received it. The second time I bought a mattress, the first delivery was wrong item, and there was no model code on the mattress, we felt that the height of the mattress was wrong, we went to the Springvale store knew that we were indeed sent the wrong goods, we asked for delivery and sent photos to nick scali, the store in Springvale they can not do anything, only leave notes! Their after-sales service is in overseas, the communication is very difficult, rubbish service, they asked to arrange staff door-to-door inspection is indeed sent the wrong goods, I do not understand the meaning of the photo I have sent, who will pay us loss of wages, who will pay us for the delay, the whole process without anyone apologizing, is this your company's service? A month later I waited for a new delivery, the second delivery is a very dirty second-hand mattress, has been yellow and old, too terrible, please stay away from nick scali, their closure is only a matter of time! The first delivery driver showed up with one guy who needed our help, and the second delivery driver showed up with two guys who soiled our carpet.

Very disappointing experience, definitely do NOT recommend! We had over a 12 month ordeal with these guys over our couches, originally purchased from the Springvale store, the in store service was good but the service from the company is one of the worst we’ve experienced. Waited 18 weeks for our reclining couches to be delivered only for them to faulty within 2 weeks, had a repairman come out twice and on the third time we asked for a refund but they offered to replace them with new ones, waited another 18 weeks, on delivery day the driver said he was in an accident and that Nick scali would call to rebook delivery. We waited a week only to be told they didn’t know what happened to the couches, after 2 months of calling them for answers we got told they had gone “missing” and we had to wait another 14 weeks, we finally got our replacement couches and the buttons were damaged, thankfully that was an easy fix. Absolutely worst customer service, their call centre is overseas, so it’s very frustrating communicating with them. We do love our couches but for what you pay you’d expect a lot more, it’s so not worth it and not worth the headache. They definitely don’t stand up their name, I would definitely not recommend.

STAY AWAY TERRIBLE COMPANY, ONCE YOU HAVE PAID THEY DO NOT CARE Honestly would get better quality furniture from fantastic furniture than this place, more helpful staff too Whilst the instore team we’re great the distribution team and aftercare/customer service team are pathetic. We had promised to have our sofa held until we got the keys to our house, which was affect by construction shutdown but then got a call from Someone else in the company who clearly doesn’t like her job and decided we were her next victims and told us she wasn’t going to hold our sofa for us. We had to hire a storage unit for a month just to keep in it for a week. We had to then hire a van to move the sofa from the storage unit because it was so large. And then to top it off the lamp that was purchased alongside it which was $600 was faulty. They refused to deal with the issue until I called up and demanded a new one. This was back in October and I still haven’t gotten a replacement for my faulty lamp. Which has been sat in the garage for months yet they wouldn’t hold my sofa for an extra week? Still waiting to be contacted by a manager who should have apparently got back to me last week…

Extremely disappointed with lounge sofa we purchased from Nickscali. Too bad I can’t give 0 stars. We have purchased lounge from Nickscali before, but in leather and have had no issues, hence we decided to buy from them again. But current sofa we purchased in fabric( Ancona fabric in storm color) has been disappointing. Fabric has shown extensive wear and pilling, is rough and itchy to sit on and in less than a year, the couch has sagged and lost shape. The fabric we got is definitely of poorer quality as compared to fabric displayed in showroom. Even though we have only had the sofa for little over a year, looks like it is 10 years old. I complained to Nickscali regarding fabric being poor quality and all I got is it’s because I have throws and blankets on the couch that is causing the pilling! Yup sure, except I have brought fabric sofas multiple times from other companies that look way better than my fabric couch from Nickscali. Extremely disappointed with after service and have lodged a complaint with consumer affairs. Do not waste your hard earned money buying a fabric couch from Nickscali.

Poor delivery service and long waiting time, sales person told me the lounge will be deliver in 9 to 11 weeks, and they happliy told me at Week 9 saying it is going to be delivered in 2 weeks, I appreciated them max out their estimated time frame. And now it is Week 11, I received a SMS saying my delivery is during Week 12 and the delivery man do not work on Saturday, are you serious? So I have to stay at home not going to go to work and just to wait for your delivery guy to come over to get my lounge delivered and I have to even recycle the rubbish myself. So I asked a half day leave on Tuesday morning, and told the delivery company that I am available till 11:30 before I need to head to work, the first staff said fine, and the next day I received another SMS saying my delivery will in between 10:00 to 14:00?? Phone them again and they say this is what the system is telling us, and informed me if I got failed delivery, I will be charged twice for the service they are providing. Such a ridiculous company.

Doing the reconnaissance trip of finding furniture within a short time frame, I went into this store three times within three days. Each time I found the staff extremely polite and respectful when I replied I was 'just looking,' but they weren't far when I needed some answers. The manager Alan was extremely helpful, i found that he was most happy to help with my queries without being pushy. I dealt with a different staff member each time i was in and on the day i purchased, i explained that due to a change of my travelling circumstances, I needed the transaction instore, to happen as quickly as possible. Kiara was wonderful, understood my angst and moved as quickly and efficiently through the process, with the help of the other more senior members, who were happy to jump in and help Kiara out. Great team work, its wonderful to see that the more experienced staff are happy to pitch in and help each other out.

Went shopping at this store the other day. Has a range of good product but had a horrible experience with this one particular sales lady. She seemed like she does not enjoy her job at all and had acted arrogantly the whole way through. After I told her that I did not require delivery service as all I got were a couple of chairs, she looked surprised and acted like she heard something unbelievable and then asked me what car do I have. She then pulled out a piece of paper with the pick-up requirements on it and slapped it right in front of me on the table. She asked me to read through it and told me that I must call the warehouse before picking up otherwise I will get nothing. I did not expect sale staff to be extremely attentive but please at least hire someone who has basic manner and respect towards customers.

Buyer beware!!! Selling you their product is where their supposed customer service ends!! Sales people helped me going out of there way to match colours with two of their side tables one being a marble, to only find out later that the same leather couch colour is very different in their shop verses in their warehouse and my house( in a day light or/and normal lighting)! Now I am stuck with two of their side tables but had to cancel the couch loosing my deposit of 30% ($1107) because it no longer matches anything including the tables I bought from N.S! Buyers Insist on taking a swatch home and look at it in your house! They told me that they didn't care as I had chosen the colour though their sales team helped me choose. I want my deposit back Please N.S. Warehouse pickup and delivery rules are shocking too!!

Very Dissapointed in Nick Scali - Springvale. The service at the store was good; except for the fact I was told i'd be collecting a fully assembled dining table. It was even circled on my receipt that the table I fully purchased would be fully assembled. So after taking leave from work to pick up the table (only available for collection during set times; none of which are after hours), I was greeted at the warehouse with a box. When I stated I was expecting it to be assembled, the store person told me it was 'easy' to do. If I wanted to assemble my furniture I would have gotten something cheaper from IKEA. I rang to complain, as I expected Nick Scali to send someone out to assemble it for me only to be told that i'd have to wait a week and a half. What a joke. Wont go back.

Only giving two stars due to the first sales consultant on our couch being lovely and informative( brodie ). Otherwise would give one due to the second sales consultant being very arrogant when we inquired if we would have to pay delivery twice as we had bought the couch a month back and was looking at a dining table. He then didn't explain the process of delivery and told us basically it was goingto happen. He seemed to take advantage of me and my partners young age by trying to tell us we are getting a good price already on the table as the next day it would go up in price, which it did not and the sale was actually going for another two months. So just be aware and take your time if you do end up going here.

Love their furniture but was super disappointed with a recent customer service experience. We have purchased numerous pieces of furniture over many years. Last week we ordered 3 occasional chairs. We were able to gain access to our new build to discover that the chairs would not fit the space. When trying to cancel the order only 1 business day after it was placed, we were told that we couldn’t. Phone calls and in-store visits got us nowhere. Finally after contacting high level management on LinkedIn we were granted a refund of our deposit, however they they deducted over $50. Not how you treat returning, loyal customers.

There's lot to improve here. Just stating my experience overall. It's neighbor furniture shop just takes maximum of 1 month to deliver a sofa where as Nick Scali takes 3 long months to do it. The biggest fall off is it's delivery. Never take it's delivery service which takes cash only and doesn't even bother to return change. They assume the house is some kind of trash yard and make a lot of mess with their booted shoes inside home without respecting people in home. Walking all along the food items, washed clothes etc. and discard the mess in home. Totally not recommending this to anyone. I'd go Ikea next time.

The worst customer service ever. Their sales man confirmed my product has warranty and now that I want to claim for a mark that happened due to using their product, they're saying no it's not covered. Essendon is way better and honest people working at Essendon unlike this branch. Natalie even told me, they are not going to believe what you say cause you are against the sales man (James) who works there. So rude and they think it is the best strategy so the customer buys another set of their product. You will loose your money if you go to this branch. If I could give negative review, I would have.

EDIT: They have replaced the top after emailing them. Paying over $1000 to have a cracked surface, when confronted they offer a $100 in store credit, what a joke. Next they offer to redeliver the top but this doesn’t address my other issue where their furniture was subpar and had a huge scratch on the side + misalisgned drawers. After entire week they go silent and I haven’t heard about the redeliver. Not worth my money. I’ve bought so many things here and would now rather shop at temple and Webster - cheaper and better customer service.

I was told to get my sofa delivered on the 9th Aug and I also got your confirmation message. I took a day off and stayed at home for the sofa but I didn't receive it. I did't even get a message telling me the delivery has been delayed. I had to call your distribution centre and was told the delivery has been rescheduled to 3 weeks later. Very terrible customer service. Will never buy anything from Nick Scali. If you can see this comment please think twice before you placing your order as your delivery may get delayed for no reason.

Great quality furniture that actually feels like it will last more than just 1yr... the staff are great and didn't find them to be pushy. Gave us the time to look and ask questions and be helpful when we needed it or space to think. When it came to the purchase they were very helpful to ensure we knew our colour/ orientation design style and fabric options before it was written up. He found them to be helpful with payment options and the half year sale is great for saving some cash. Would buy from the team here again.

Utterly the worst, put in an order on 6 Aug 2022, stated in the order to wait maximum 16 weeks + 2 weeks unexpected delay, which I was happy to wait and understand. Going into week 21 now, nothing received, now they recently have sales going on and I asked to compensate by matching the current sale price for all the outrageous delay, they said they can’t do it and if you cancel the order, they take away your deposit, so money in their hands and you can’t do anything, just wait forever. Please be aware buyers!

Brought $7800 of furniture from Nick Scali, they deliver damaged goods, dining table and buffet that didn't match because of the light in our room, had no characteristics because of the timber, wasn't the dining set we saw in the store. 2x beside tables that were shrink wrapped when delivered had scrape marks on top of them. It's been 5mths now, driving back n forth, ringing their 48hr service team that seem to keep looking into it, a manager that has a rock star image and no employee can get hold of.

Went to Nick Scali Furniture today. Served by a gentlemen but he was occupied once I make up my mind. A very kind Customer Service, Anna served me by knowing the sales figure belongs to other. Anna still take time to explain the warranty details and delivery details even she could have took my money without explanation. I am not sure will the gentlemen share his commission with Anna but all I can do is leave a good 5 stars review. Look for Anna on your next visit to Nick Scali Furniture

I came here wanting to buy the "Provence" marble dining table, thinking they have a sales on. We have been interested in this table for a few months now, so we know how much it costs originally. But when we come here, the sales price is still the same as a few months ago, which is $1990, and they just jack up the original price to $2990!!!! When I told the sales about it, he denied they do this, what a cheek! If I could give zero star, I would! I hate business who cheat and lie!

I bought Nick scali nakeeta 1st i have been waited for 2 months all most for dilivery. When the i received my lounge the was a colour difference between the fabric used in Lounge 1 piece is completely different than the rest 2. I informed Nick scali about this i have been asked to provide photos which i did and its been Two weeks now no action has been taken yet from nick scali.Never seen a customer service and a like this before made a wrong choice shopping with Nick scali .

Worst customer service, my husband and I went in to purchase a tall boy and the staff were so ignorant, we genuinely needed help and were there make a purchase, so to the two Asian men and the red headed lady working there my advice to you three are be more polite (it costs nothing to smile amd say hi)to people, greet everyone that walks through you're door, if you three cant be bothered then maybe seek employment else where... such spoilt stuck up individuals

I would rather prefer giving a 0 rating if I could, got a delivery of my lounge yesterday where the delivery guys damaged the leather lounge. I believe they have really underpaid delivery drivers who doesn’t even use proper techniques to carry the product and install, where one person carried the lounge and hit my doors and corners leaving a damage on leather lounge. Also messed up the lounge with marks and spots all around which took me an hour to clean.

Couch was great quality but the delivery process really let them down. Almost 6 month wait from order to delivery. Couch came packed in lots of cardboard and foam. Lots of rubbish left behind that they don't take. Excessive profiteering on credit card surcharge of $6 for a $195 delivery fee for a debit card. Strongly recommend shopping around and asking questions about surcharges, delivery times and rubbish removal before buying from Nick Scali.

Bought a concrete dining table here. Staff was friendly. Everything ran smoothly. Table was in stock and could be delivered in a few days. The only disappointment was that the saleperson told me that the delivery was done by 3rd party and they were going to take the rubbish away. When receiving a confirmation SMS about the delivery, it said "unfortunately we cant take the rubbish". So now I am left with two big cardboard boxes.

Very happy with our purchase. We needed a sofa that is 2.5m2 to be appropriate with our small living room. Went to a few other stores and was told it’s not possible until Nick Scali in Springvale. Gay is very knowledgeable, she immediately knew what to do and tried to help us and was patient through out the whole process of choosing material, color. Couldn’t be more satisfied with her service.

Products are good. Service is bad. No delivery on weekends. Took almost 3 months from purchase to deliver. Balance can be paid only by card, driver can be paid only by cash (why?). Messaged me few days before the delivery and said the driver won't take away the packaging, and there is a huge amount of rubbish I have no idea how to deal with.

We recently purchased furniture from here, furniture is great but the service was average. We had the furniture delivered and assembled which was nice, but when you’re spending lots of money, it would be nice to take away the packaging it came in. Especially when residents don’t have access to disposing of them under Covid-19 lockdowns.

Furniture is good but please look at your delivery protocol. $140 cash for the driver who just comes in and drops your furniture and leaves all the packaging behind is not good service. Hours to cut it up and dispose of it , surely you can provide a better service and take away all the packaging like every other furniture store.

Recently i bought sofas, reasonable prices 11 weeks i have to wait... they shipping from Asia or something i do not understand they do not have stock in Aus. I paid $1000 for deposit. It is good for people like me who don’t have money in full you can save some money until sofas arrive...haha...

Over priced tat! Another example of selling finance. I mean $3999(on sale) for a sofa, really? If you break it down it's just cheap wood a bit of foam and some cloth! I bought a 7 seater corner suite with cup holders off ebay for $91 three years ago and it's still perfect so go figure.

While the product and in store service is nice the after sale support is useless and delivery leaves a lot to be desired. Mandatory delivery fees with no pickup option available, failure to meet delivery times and attempts to speak with the call center were met with disinterest.

Worst experience ever. Great furniture but horrible experience. Delivery is Thursday only. They won't let you take the item on the day. Had to take a day off work. They said they'd be there in the morning. Didn't arrive until after 3:30pm. Could've worked. Never again.

I didn't have a good experience with one of their sales reps. I literally had the cash in my pocket to pay for the item in full and instead of even trying to make the sale I was dismissed as if I couldn't afford it. I am now turned off from this brand.

Please check deliveries before goods purchase. They deliver goods weekdays between 11 AM and 3 PM only. Worst customer service in internal warehouse!! Buyer beware. There are many other places you can buy these kind of furniture!! You have been warned.

Great customer service - every question I had was answered by the team at Nick Scali. Great range of furniture - the sofa came in many different specifications and sizes which helps when you have a small place but wanting something lux.

Beware! They use veneer in their products and never tell you. And shockingly, they have products full of veneer with no solid timber and no disclosure of it, neither by sales person and nor in their website. Beware!!
