I am sadly and badly surprised by how staff have treated me today. I came to buy two books as my friend is leaving London forever. I was holding a goodbye card in my hand when a woman from the shop approached me, and ask me if I am buying that card? I need to buy some books as well, I said. She said no we are closing for lunch now please leave “. I was staring at her in shock for minute . How can you treat people like this! She opened the door, take the card from my hand and let me out. . Lunch is important I’m sure, but is it more important then your clients ? Why did you let me in if you ask me to leave 2min later?!?! Very unprofessional. I was coming to this shop for 20 years. And I am sorry to say but I will think twice if to go back.

Five stars throughout. The choice of books on display is thoughtful and inviting a reaction. I went for the book club night which took Amor Towles title 'A gentleman in Moscow' as a theme for the evening. The event was really well organised and well run, what I really enjoyed was that there was an intelligence, curiosity and warmth present. And everyone was free to say exactly what they thought. The exchange of ideas was fresh and the flow was non-restricted. No one was shy to say how they felt when they were reading the book and what they took out of it. It was an excellent and delightful evening. You may say that this was what the book clubs are for. And you would be absolutely right! Thank you, Cindy!

This is the third time that one of the shop assistants is rude to me for no reason. I swore I would not go back last year and I went with my 2 year old (who behaved like an angel) to get him some new books this morning and I was very disappointed to see that she is still there and worse than ever. I asked howany stamps I had on my digital card and she replied "I'll tell you when I get the receipt" in a very dry and rude manner. I asked her questions before and I always had the same treatment. This was my last time for good. The books are good but the staff is the worse I ever encountered.

Wonderful place with a huge selection of children’s books. The way the books are categorized is most helpful and encouraging for readers. Extremely friendly, humorous, delightful and knowledgeable staff! Particularly enjoyed Aude’s enthusiasm and dedication. They are willing to research your reading requirements and provide recommendations for books beyond what is available in the shop. An interesting collection of totes and trinkets as well. Seating is available but limited though I did not check to see if there was another floor.

Fantastic bookshop with carefully selected fiction, nonfiction and children's books. Collection includes good range of books on walks, shops and sights etc in London, British countryside, latest recipe books, and French children's books. Friendly and helpful service and welcoming atmosphere. Can order anything you want and usually next day. I bought all my Christmas presents here and they went down very well! Oh and they have good greeting cards too! :)

Incredible shop. Staff is very knowledgeable and should be proud of the high level of service they provide. We have attended signing sessions by authors as well as pre-ordered books from them. In all instances I have received calls to confirm either our attendance or the arrival of the book. There is an excellent children's section at the back with a section where you can just sit and read with your kids.

The cutest bookshop I came across in London with a room dedicated to children and a cafe where to sip a good cup of tea whilst reading the cover of some books. They also have a great selection of unusual and unique cards and wrapping paper. Friendly service - if they don't have a book they'll order it in a matter of days.

Took our granddaughter for a book reading. My daughter has taken her to a few of them. The back room is dedicated to children's books and activities and is quite large. There is a very small selection of French books, mostly aimed for older children. I didn't notice any other languages, although I heard a spoken

Lovely little and authentic book store. Great selection for adults. It is worth mentioning, that this is the first and only bookshop I was impressed by the kids section. Some really great stuff for young readers and books I definitely would have enjoyed back in the days.

  • Iván Gutiérrez

Lovely bookshop. They do such an excellent job at curating the books they have on offer. Amazing children's section as well. Perfect place to look for gifts or when you need a hand navigating all the new publications and just going straight to the gems

  • Matthew Rafat

Small, independent bookstore. I discovered a few gems here I wouldn’t have found elsewhere because of its smaller size and focused layout. Good-sized children’s book section in the back, along with a selection of greeting cards. (January 2018)

  • Ella Pogson

Lovely book shop! i love the recommendations in certain books and the selection of books you have! Also a really nice variety of cards and other stationery bits (nice wrapping paper, advent calendars etc) can’t wait to visit again :)

  • Mark L

Very cute book shop, laid out nicely with what appears to be a staff specific curated set of books. So not the largest selection but a very good and focused selection. Additionally it has a very large children's selection.

  • Ralf von Broembsen

Wonderful place to enjoy browsing through books. They always have good suggestions if you're looking for a new read or a gift. It's also easy to order a book for pickup if you're looking for something specific.

  • The Eggsorcist

SUPPORT LOCAL BOOKSHOPS!! Small selection of books in house when compared to the big chains, but that doesn't matter because they're always happy to order a book in for you with quick delivery!
