Finding well preserved libraries is like finding a Unicorn - this neatly tucked away Norscot Manor Library bought much delight to my heart. The place was neat... lots of books of all sorts, different areas to sit it... the study area must be nice in summer , as for me in the middle of July I didnt last even 1 hour in that arctic study area it was freezing to the bone decided to leave. The design of this whole place is just a time piece that one wishes could remain this way , unfortunately all things are web based and the need for libraries is unfortunately becoming a thing of the ancient world. The gentle man at the reception was patient and kind. The only sad thing is there is no WiFi which is the reason most people go to a library to make use of the internet. And by the looks of it it’s been without WiFi for a long time. Otherwise lovely cozy maybe a bit spooky library in such a Magical setting , I’d come here just to Be by nature
This library needs funding— the kids area is so tiny and airless. The books are from 30yrs ago and are tattered. There are no computers, or printing services so I didn't even check for wifi. It felt unwelcoming for a child. This is not a place where you can pick a theme then take your kid to practice selecting the right books for research because there is just not enough newish books available. Not even a decent place for a kid to sit down and browse— it was so dusty. This library needs a system where patrons pay a fee/yearly donation and they use that money to bring in new books each year. It needs locals to donate their kid's used picture books. Please crack a window open. I am genuinely disappointed of the state of the nearest library in my neighborhood, how can an area like Fourways have a library in this state?
Lovely place to work. I would bring an extension cord/multi plug as power points are limited, also, there isn't WiFi
Small selection of books but the place is nice and peaceful with friendly staff
Beautiful and peaceful, highly recommend for family outing
