After one visits I was blown away by how professional and over-and-abovey this clinic was. I’ve had difficult experiences with doctors before, having long term chronic health issues. I can be defensive with doctors, having had bad past experiences. I specifically asked for a doctor with experience in women’s health and was asked if I wanted to see a woman. (I didn’t mind). They recommended Dr. Leung who was the dream doctor. He took a comprehensive history, listened to my reasons for the visit, explained the gaps in his knowledge and even looked up my specialist on the spot to make sure I was getting good care. He explained the pros and cons of any tests he ordered (and ordered a few - with my permission). I’ve never had a doctor acknowledge that an internal ultrasound, giving birth and pelvic issues / surgery can be traumatising, so I really appreciated that, too. Finally, as a woman with extra weight and anxiety in my history it was SO REFRESHING to not have to defend myself. He explained why women can carry extra weight, without asking if I was trying to lose it or passing any judgement. I would recommend this clinic to anyone - especially young women who have been dismissed or invalidated by doctors in the past.

Doctors do not have to respond positively to all questions or requests of their patients, but they must do so in a respectful manner within the framework of ethical rules. It made me very sad to encounter such an insulting,disrespectful ,hostile,derogatory behavior in this health center where I have been a patient for a very long time. There is no medical negligence in this case, but there is professional misconduct. Now I understand better that there was no pre-existing clinical relevance and duty of care . Doctors who formerly took the Hippocratic oath now prioritize money worshipping. Taking into account both their profession and the physical and psychological wellbeing of the patients.If their tolerance and patience for distressing situations, heavy workload and strict time constraints has disappeared, on top of their own health problems,it would be the best way for them to leave the job or take a break. There hasn't been a single quarrel or misunderstanding or personality clash in over 23 years. But no matter what the reason, no patient deserves to be humiliated like this.

I have recently been going to Northcote Medical as my long standing GP had retired. Also, I was referred by a friend. Dr Thomas has been treating me and my family and can honestly say hand on heart what amazing care he provides. Every time i make an appointment to see Dr Thomas he was warm, welcoming, understanding and really does take his time to ensure he listens to you and provides the BEST treatment advice. Another thing Dr Thomas does so perfectly is works with you to ensure you are both on the same page when it comes to treatment options which is very rare now days. I'm extremely thankful to Dr Thomas and also blessed knowing he close by. Furthermore, the reception staff are amazing. So professional, compassionate and truly do go above and beyond. Northcote Medical is truly a hidden gem. Thank you all and please do not change and keep doing what you do.

I have been attending Northcote Plaza Medical Clinic for well over 20 years and The doctors, nurses and reception staff are all exceptional. Dr.Harry Hemley is an outstanding G.P. He is empathic, thorough, listens to his patients and takes the time to explain medical conditions and treatments to his patients using plain English. Over the years I have also had the privilege of being treated by Dr.Zoltan Vilagosh and Dr.Beverley Anderson, both G.P.s of the highest calibre. In recent years some new doctors have arrived, and at times I have seen Dr.Tom, Dr.Austin and Dr.Meredith, each of whom is carrying on the tradition of exceptional care. Shout out to Jen and Dora in Reception who have always been patient, professional and have excellent people skills. Sorry if I have forgotten anyone, you are all stars.

My family have been coming to this practice for many years. The reception staff are lovely and there are some wonderful doctors and nurses. We usually see Dr Tom Leung, who would have to be the kindest doctor you will ever meet. He is compassionate and never dismissive, very thorough and holistic. You might go to him for a simple medical matter but he always checks in and asks how your mental health is. I have also seen Dr Meredith Bates for women's issues and she is also fantastic. The practice nurses Angel and Christine are so sweet, they have done all our kids vaccinations and always make that awful task so much more bearable with their cheery manner.

I’ve been attending Northcote medical for 4 years now and absolutely love it!! Could not recommend Dr Austin enough. He always listens to all my concerns and ensures a sense of care with every visit. Dr Austin has been able to diagnose me with concerns other doctors couldn’t and always wants the best for his clients!! Nurse Kristine is also amazing!! she ensured I was comfortable and stayed with me the whole time for my iron infusion. She walked me through every step and made me laugh every moment. I’ve never left Northcote medical disappointed and recommend the clinic to absolutely everyone!!

This place is the bee's knees for real. I went in one day with a dead phone and a dislocated shoulder, turns out I had to go to the hospital and the whole team went above and beyond to help me out. They had someone go to Kmart to suss me a phone charger and even called me an Uber. I have had nothing but absolutely delightful experiences with the reception team and have seen them handle difficult patients in the most professional manner. Dr Leung is an absolute mad man, best doctor I've ever had. The nurses are exceptional and the place always smells fantastic. 10/10 would recommend.

Have been to bulk billing doctors my whole life and my girlfriend finally convinced me to go to a paid doctor. Let me say this: it was the best I've ever done in regards to my health. My boy Doctor Riley Smith showed me the love and care similar to what you would expect a mother to show her new born baby. He listened to my issues and showed genuine care and then insisted on a follow up. The limit is only 5 stars but if I could give it 6 I would have. If you are still going to bulk billing doctors you're kidding yourself. Go see my man Doctor Riley Smith and he will sort you out.

The interior of the clinic has a great look and feel as soon as you walk inside. Nice couches, tv, water and relaxing atmosphere. My doctor feels like an old friend, because he is! I’ve watched him build his practice up over forty years! He’s done a fine job too, now running many facets of treatment from his much grown surgery. I've never had such a thorough, comprehensive, respectful and welcoming experience at a clinic before. Dr Leung was very good at explaining and recommending different treatment options and the pros and cons involved. He had no issues letting me know where his knowledge fell short and recommending specialists for particular issues. He made sure I knew exactly what was happening and what to expect. Both Dr Leung and the reception staff where welcoming and understanding of LGBT+ and mental and sexual health.

Best doctor's clinic in the North. Extremely tidy and organised with extremely friendly reception staff who are more than happy to answer any of your queries. Fabulous doctors who genuinely listen and care about their patients leaving no stone unturned (unlike many doctors I have encountered) as well as being extremely on time with all appointments. On top of this, their pathology clinic is literally 2 steps away in the next room, making it convenient for those who like to get things done on the same day.

I have been coming to Northcote medical for about 18 months now, and couldn’t speak highly enough. Dr Tom Leung manages my care and is patient, thorough, kind and approachable. For women’s specific issues I have also seen Dr Roisin Matthews who is equally lovely, thorough and approachable. The on site pathology is extremely helpful and the staff are always great, plus there is a nursing station available for vaccines etc. The reception staff are consistently kind and helpful. I needed to have a covid test last week so rang Northcote Medical as it is close to my home. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. I stayed in the car and Dr Riley Smith came out to perform the test. He was also very friendly and efficient. He called me the next day as promised with my results. Thank you for a very easy and good experience (except for the nose swab of course!) at this practice from start to finish. Will definitely go back and recommend to others.

I love this place. Iv been going to northcote medical for over 20 years now and in those 20 so years. Happy to say that they have help me emotionally and physically in so many ways. I am very grateful to all the doctors there. Yes i do have my favourites that i like to see but when there to busy and fit my schedule the other doctors there deliver 110% and i cant find any fault so say about this place..

customer service from the receptionist named MEGAN was horrible, she was incredibly rude and gave my PREGNANT sister the attitude of a adolescent teenager when she was on the phone in a very distressing moment for her. this woman needs to be REPREMANDED she is totally insensitive and does not know how treat patients with the slightest bit of respect. other than MEGAN, this clinic is great !
