The school is has many facilities and is furnished nicely! They also take hygiene seriously throughout the bathrooms they are left clean and tidy. However, the education is mediocre. When getting assigned homework teachers find online sources to assign work, multiple times I have found the answers online. Also, for one of my assignments it was a Powerpoint Template found from a website, which we got marked and graded on. On the last slide it clearly said 'last minute teacher templates' which portrays the lack of effort teachers are putting in. For the co-curriculars they are very confusing. For Drama this year there has been 3 different teachers and no clear direction for the Drama Club, the Debating Team didn't clearly tell anyone if they got in or not. For Knitting Club there was no email brought out, I only knew about it from friends. The teachers and students are nicely behaved and form a friendly community. Recently, there has been many incidents throughout Year 7 - Year 9 with people getting suspended. Overall this school is great but there is a few areas of improvement.
I came to Northholm in year seven and left in year nine. My school experience wasn’t at all good. I got bullied for two year being called land whale and being targeted for everyone’s judgement. The school facility’s are really good but the people within this community aren’t supportive and didn’t make this period in time an enjoyable one for me. This experience is the reason I moved to Qld and why before school everyday I struggle to get out of bed because I am having to deal with my anxiety and depression. The school however isn’t to be blamed by he students within. The staff were really nice and the classrooms were of good standard. Please take this into count when considering this school. Thankyou! EDIT: Someone from the admin department called me, threatening me to take down the review. My brother was still attending the school at the time and they mentioned it was unwise for me to leave the review up as I still had people attending the school. The staff at Northholm are malicious, terrible people that would rather spend their time threatening people and trying to cover their behinds as opposed to just being good people and doing the right thing. Original: The school is currently under urgent redundancies because of a heavy reduction in enrolments and continues to lose staff and students. This school is despicable and reflects cult-like leadership.
About to move my early teen to a better school after dealing with this place for too long. It’s unbelievable just how hard this school tries to be more than it is. Sub average teachers, poor facilities, Very weird school cultish vibes, and trying to charge like a school with good stats and history. Most of the other parents are so arrogant and seem to be trying pretend this a high status school. It isn’t.(It just costs almost as much) We live within 5km of the school and my family have lived in the Galston and Arcadia area for over 70 years and We can’t wait to leave and find a school with better stats and a nicer environment and spirit
We joined Northholm Grammar in Primary some years ago. The School has always been recognised for being caring but over the past few years, the school has grown in strength and has become the most amazing learning environment. The school has now established a clear and strong identity - with no ambiguity about who they are and what they stand for. We love the consistency all the way through from Primary through to High school – something that was very much lacking in the past. Our kids are now in High School and they’ve had an excellent transition. We love the school – now more than ever before.
Northholm creates well rounded students with plenty of opportunities. We have been blessed to find this school with its wonderful community and beautiful grounds. The teachers are incredible, each knowing their students educational and emotional needs. The co-curricular activities offer is diverse including a fantastic Duke of Edinburgh program. The Agricultural facility, which is on many acres includes opportunities for students to interact with various farm experiences and animals.
Truely the most beautiful school for my daughter. The teachers know my child’s strengths and are working hard to get her the highest marks possible. She’s involved in the debating team, sports aerobics and sometimes stays back after school for study boost or extension English. There have been opportunities for her to participate in public speaking competitions and last year she won some money. An idilic setting in Arcadia with plenty of space and fresh air. I highly recommend it.
Cool ref, never wondered that it would happen in Australia. Our team got unfairly treatment and the refs are deaf and blind. Most of the time we got foul the ref didn’t give the free throw, and especially when there was a large foul as loud as the kookaburra shouted. Also, when we didn’t foul the other team, they could still get free throws. Don’t come to this school and play for basketball competition, for soccer I think it won’t be much different
Northholm is an amazing school. It provides an education that is suited to individual needs. It’s a nurturing environment. The school is committed to improving each child, encouraging close relationships with fellow students. Loved the way the school communicated during the pandemic and adjusted events like graduation day being moved to Term 4 so parents could attend. We love the school.
i came here in term 4 last year and year 6 was good but then when i went on to highschool it sucked they didnt care about you, got you in trouble for the tiniest things, gave you homework everyday due for the next and talked about their personal life to much
this school is amazing!!!!!! STAFF IS VERY FRIENDLY AND NICE AND I HAVE LOVED HERE SINCE YEAR 3. I suppose the only bad side about this is because of how strict the sport uniform is other than that great people
This school is amazing highly recommend to send your child here,u would be setting them up for sucess not only in school but in life. Also the students here are well brought up and it is such a caring community
My kids suffered so much in this school. Forget about the bullies, you pay for facilities and teachers that are not worth it. School environment is despicable. Re-think your decision joining here.
Lazy teachers only perform to impress an oblivious new Principal. High fees, no classroom resources or school facilities. School of last resort for students asked to leave their previous school.
This school is horrible everytime i went to school i got yelled at for doing nothing wrong and all the kids that did something wrong never got introuble. DONT SEND YOUR KIDS HERE!
