Novant health was excellent! Out of the 20+ staff members I interacted with over 2 days only 3 people weren’t that good. I was brought in via ambulance with a resting heart rate of 150+ bpm and was about to faint. They did an initial lab test and EKG and put me back in the waiting room. While waiting I started to experience chest pain, shortness of breath, and dizziness and they were quick to bring me back and run another EKG. The second EKG revealed I was possibly going AFIB and I was rushed to the trauma room right away in fear I was going into cardiac arrest. A couple hours after running initial tests the cardiology team came to visit me in the trauma room and discuss findings and possible treatment. I was told they wanted me to stay the night for further observation and evaluation and was eventually transferred from the trauma room to an emergency room until a room in the cardiology unit was available. I had an echo the next morning and a cardio MRI by midday. The cardio EP (I think her name was Lizzey?) was FANTASTIC! As a young woman with heart problems she took me seriously and never dismissed me. The ED nurse Ashley was INCREDIBLE!!! Made me feel so comfortable and relaxed even when I was very scared. Always checked in on me and helped too. Sabrina the night nurse was fantastic as well! And Jaimz the echocardiogram tech was EXCELLENT! Beth the MRI tech was so great and Miguel from pharmacy and Dr. Parker were all so wonderful! The only trouble I had was a nurse who blew out of one my veins which was very painful but I don’t blame her (I have small veins). Nurse Payton was ok, i had to use the restroom frequently due to the IV drip and she was a little slow to unhook me from my EKG (I understand she could’ve been very busy though). Plus she would never hook me back up to the heart monitor after using the restroom. I just didn’t feel as comforted and cared for by her as I did with some of the other nurses (such as Sabrina and Ashley). Maybe she was just having a bad day though. Some things to note based on other reviews: the “empty room” Stephanie talked about and posted a picture of is the trauma room, it must stay empty for incidents like mine where we thought I was going into cardiac arrest. I see lots of people talking about having chest pains and not being seen right away, this is most likely because they didn’t experience other symptoms that would have caused concern for cardiac arrest (such as short of breath and light headed). Also, you have to go up to the front desk 2x to let them know you are about to faint and need to be seen right away! This is what I did and by the second time my husband went up and said I was about to pass out with chest pain I was rushed back for my second EKG and then brought to trauma. If you go to this hospital please note there are staffing and bed shortages! You WILL wait unless they are concerned you have a LIFE THREATENING problem! This means heart attack or stroke, if the symptoms are just flu like, sore throat, etc. you are better off at an urgent care than an ER. Overall, my experience at Novant Health with the emergency department and cardiology department was GREAT! I would gladly go back there again!

I had the worst delivery experience ever. After coming home I found out that my friends said they would never delivery in Presbyterian hospital. I came to the hospital when the pain was unbearable, the staff let me walk and used the elevator without offering a wheelchair. She walked me to. 8th floor and said “its one of them coming” ??? Same as the lady at the front desk, she saw that I could not stand but still asked a lot of questions and did not even care to give me a wheelchair first. I had to ask for one. There were 3 people there and nobody care. I came inside the room, and it was horrible. All of the nurse acted like I bothered them, they treated me with attitude and not even a nice gesture to calm me down. I felt scared so scared. I wanted to get out and go to different hospital but I knew I didn’t have enough time. None of the nurses went over the pain relief options with me. They only asked for epidural. And I said Im prefer that. Please give me pain relief, when else do you have? They didn’t bother to answer. The doctor said I had two babies already I would give birth soon. But after that she said why I don't want epidural, she said sth that I could not remember now, but she also had attitude when talking to me as well. She said if she gave me pain relief my baby will come out not breathing But after that she gave me pain relief. The doctor also put the plastic on her shoes and did not wash hands after that. The blanket that I had when delivered still have dirt on it. My husband told me that he felt horrible drove me to this hospital. The nurse name Channel H., I asked her what am O waiting for? because I felt like my baby will come out soon, and I was in great pain. She said:” what do you mean?” and I explained could you ask the doctor if I can have some pain relief or can I start pushing now? She said ok I will go ask her. After that the doctor came and I gave birth so fast after that. I was wondering if I didn’t ask how long do they wanted to torture me, no comforting, no pain relief? After I delivered my baby, the nurse Channel made me walk to bathroom and change and wash. It hurted my both legs so bad and I still had the pain until now. The pain on the inner of my legs are unbearable and every time I walked I felt like I messed up my legs. I remembered when I was in pain I cried to my husband and said I don’t deserve to get treat this way. I thought this is the best maternity hospital. But no, it was the worst experience I have ever had in my whole life with doctors and nurses. The after care was ok, the nurse manager was the one who made me felt better. After talking to her I felt I got treated better. Thanks to that. There were still a lot of things but I could not remember to say. I was very disappointed and sad. This made me felt more sorrow, depressed and sad after leaving the hospital. I dont deserve to get treated this way. Nothing like the maternity introduction on the hospital website

Rusty Lee is absolutely awful doctor. I came in with withdrawals from my medication. They’re negligent and wouldn’t even give me a prescription to stop my anxiety attacks or withdrawals because it was his “personal opinion” I didn’t need it. They treated me like absolute garbage because of my tattoos as well as piercings, they had no idea I went to college for medicine as well as law. They were judgmental from the very beginning. I said from the beginning I just had anxiety, no homicidal thoughts or suicidal thoughts. My fiancé was with me and is witness to them trying to commit me against my will, they even guarded me with cops without a psychiatrist consultation……I was left in the room for around 4 hours alone, I complained of chest pain and got no type of ECG or x-ray that is so negligent that it isn’t even funny. They also accused me of opioid withdrawal after they gave me a drug test, I showed up negative for any type of drugs except for benzodiazepines. They tried to tell me that benzodiazepines are considered an opioid. I asked for the doctor to come back multiple times, he did absolutely nothing but accuse me of being an addict. He said he would give nausea medicine and something to stop the withdrawals. He flagged me for abuse of opioids, I now can’t get medicine of any controlled substance at any hospital. Disgusting facility, please don’t trust your loved ones at this place because if my fiancé wasn’t there they were going to take my cellphone away and purse without my permission. You like to treat people with mental illness with negligence, that’s alright but remember that people still have rights and aren’t incoherent, sometimes they have more college experience than you do. Please keep your judgement to yourself or get your medical license re-evaluated, not one person at this hospital learned a thing from medical school. What a joke! When I went to caromont sick, they spilled the information to me about how he believed I was a opioid addict with a negative drug test…Please go back to college.

My experience here was stellar as it pertains to the nursing staff…my hospitalist, Dr. Manhandar not so good but we’ll leave that for another review . On to the good! My neurologist Dr. Eshragh and Dr. Dougher ( I hope I spelled that right she’s a very pretty caucasian woman with short brown hair.) phenomenal! They were so knowledgeable! They were very thorough as well. Unlike my assigned hospitalist, Dr. Eshraghi was very compassionate and listened very well. He explained things to my understanding. Surprisingly he explained why the medication the hospitalist had been giving me (that was NOT working) wasn’t providing relief as it wasn’t the best remedy for my condition among other things. He was soooo good. He really restored my faith in my care. I was on the cancer floor. The staff was Impeccable! Particularly Brianna (I know that’s a common name; so she is a very pretty blonde.) Please give this woman her deserved acknowledgment! She is soooooo good at what she does. I mean it! As both a cancer and Lupus patient I’ve unfortunately seen my unfair share of hospitals and HORRIBLE nurses. Brianna’s bedside manner is stellar. She was comforting and compassionate. I was traveling so not from the area, she as well as the whole floor was beyond accommodating for the weekend. My night nurse Jenna was absolutely AMAZING as well. The patient care I received from these two women is how it should always be! I am super thankful to them both for making a very difficult time so much easier! I’d also like to add my weekday nurse Ami kept the positive experience afloat! She was so reassuring, thoughtful, and kind. She too, was very knowledgeable and great at communication. Job well done to all the nursing staff! ( CNA’s included) Also, as a medical administrator by trade for over 25 years I’m always evaluating the level of patient care provided, even when I’m the patient. So when I say the nurses on this floor were great and Jenna, Brianna, and Ami were exceptional they were just that! Thanks Again!

This hospital is by far the most insensitive I have ever encountered. My 6 week old son tragically passed away from SIDS only a few weeks ago. He was taken to the pediatric ER at this hospital where attempts to revive him were not successful. Not even 2 full weeks after my precious baby lost his life this hospital TEXTED ME A BILL FOR HIS ER VISIT AND UNSUCCESSFUL CPR. The bill was itemized and the measures taken to revive him were listed on said bill. I got this in a text, one day after returning to work and still barely being able to cope with my tragic loss. It was extremely disturbing to not only be reminded of the horrific things our family encountered that day, but to see a dollar figure next to the measures they took to save my baby’s life made it feel like “oh so this is what trying to save a child is worth”. They did not even have the decency to mail the bill so we could open when we were ready. I was forced to view the price tag put on attempts to save my sons life at work only days after I had lost him. This is a disgusting practice, that this place needs money so desperately they would send this to a grieving parent in such an insensitive manner as if this were an appointment reminder. Do better Novant. No parent who just lost a child days ago should have to endure this coming across their phone when we are just trying to survive ourselves. The bill for my baby’s death was treated as if it was just a nonchalant routine text message. Our grief was completely disregarded and no thought as to how this would affect us was given to the matter. This bill could’ve easily waited and been sent in an email or through the mail or anything less casual and forced than a text.

We had an excellent experience here! First off, I had a vaginal birth and had to wait about 30 minutes to get a room. I was in labor and it was tough to wait but we’ll worth it. The epidural I received could not have been better, first they gave me pain meds to take the edge off, then a few minutes later I got my epidural with several tiny needles that just felt like a pinch instead of one giant scary needle in the spine. This eased the pain so well, I felt great, and there was very little evidence of the needles afterwards. I did not feel the contractions, and I had a button I could push if I wanted more pain meds, so I controlled the amount I was getting. Pushing my baby out was a breeze, I could feel it but it didn’t hurt and I could sort of walk afterward, which they didn’t recommend. Every single member of their staff acknowledged my birth plan upon entering the room, and they went over it with me very respectfully. I am unconventional and they were very accommodating. The family room where we spent 3 days after the birth was so cozy and almost felt like a hotel! With room service! I got to order breakfast, lunch and dinner and there were plenty of options, I liked their food! Lots of people continually entered the room to offer assistance which was a bit annoying for me at times but they have a “Do Not Disturb” sign for the door nob and when we put that out there, no one came in, except our amazing nurse. Our nurse Tamara was INCREDIBLE!!! She really made the experience over the top with her bright spirit, intelligence and caring heart. We LOVED her!!! 1 year later I’m still compelled to write this review, because we are expecting again and want to come back!

I gave birth at Novant 4 months ago (first time mom), and am writing this to alleviate any other moms who are worried. I was new to the city, hospital group, and chose Novant because I heard this hospital had a great maternity ward. I would 100% recommend this location. I walked in and got a tour of the ward by Nurse Karen (who is an angel) 4 weeks before I was due. It really helped me understand what to expect, procedures for the big day, and alleviated stress. Day of my birth went smoothly as well. I delivered a healthy baby, according to my birth plan, with my OB Dr. Langan from the Novant Queen City office. It was a busy night, so I had to wait a while to go into the delivery room where I could finally get the epidural. My contractions were extremely painful during this time because my water broke. Once in, the epidural was administered painlessly. I had heard scary stories about it not working, and the anesthesiologist really listened to my questions. I was in heaven after, and took a nap! The nurses and doctor told me what positions to push, and I delivered in 30 mins. The doctor warned me we may have to use the vacuum, and told me the risks involved when baby heart rate was dropping. However, they did a fantastic job coaching me through pushing and we had a healthy birth with no additional interventions. The care during recovery was great too. Loved all the staff who came into help. Even the billing office is so helpful and patient with questions. I’d do it all again here if I could!

While I understand covid is a major factor - I was allowed to sit screaming in pain for three hours in the waiting room of the ED with a ruptured appendix. I could see my CT results in MyChart and no one was coming to get me. The only reason I believe I got a room when I did is I was on my way out the door to another hospital. I could have died sitting there waiting. The lack of concern with the obvious amount of pain/high level of emergency was highly disheartening. The care I have received since I’ve been here has been a mix of wonderful and awful at the same time. Select nurses and doctors are great but no one cleans my room up at all, every inch of counter surface is covered in random things stacked up. I’m disappointed in the lack of urgency to get the care to the people that needed it the most. People with an ankle fracture were being taken back before myself and it should not based off when you arrived but how intense your emergency was. Mine was a life or death situation and was treated as if it was nothing more than a dramatic female that can’t tolerate stomach pain.

On 7/18/23 my brother was taken to this hospital by ambulance. There was a vital of blood on the floor and my mother told the nurse and she said she was looking for that but did not need it anymore but she did not discard it. After my brother was discharged he was wheeled out in a wheelchair. My mother was at the pharmacy getting his medicine when the nurse called her to ask her did my brother still have his IV in his arm and the electrodes were still on him as well. My mother looked and told her yes, the nurse said she or he could take it out. My mother told her no they were not trained for that so when she got him back to the emergency room she had the nurse come out to remove these items which she was nonchalant and the nurse told her some patients don't want them to remove the electrodes, but the point is most facilities ask you if you want them to remove them or not they do not assume. Then there was a staff person at the desk sleep. This is unacceptable and the same way they send a bill and want you to pay patients want quality care and a clean facility.

This hospital rating should be much lower. I came here to visit a family member. The nursing staff at the nursing station were laughing, talking loud as if they were at a sporting event. They were upset when I interrupted their conversation to ask where the room # I was looking for. It was an unacceptable noise level for a hospital where people are not feeling well. They never ordered pain medication for my family member she waited for hours. They cut her iv machine off and never came back. We had to wait on the night shift to come in. We called twice for a blanket last night for my family member. The operator answered with such an attitude every time and no one ever came. After 30 minutes waiting ,we went out to the desk where the lady was actually sleeping. So we understood the attitude was because she had to finish out her nap at work. There is a level of unfriendliness at this hospital. They staff act like they work at a prison and not a hospital. After all that to pay for parking to visit my loved one in the hospital is absurd!!!

My granddaughter was has been rushed to the hospital for the last four days, with severe stomach pain, she was admitted Sunday 10/6/22 at 9:30am, it's currently the next day 10/7/22 and still sitting in the back area in the emergency room . No one is explaining or telling her what the problem is. They giving her morphine for the pain, but not trying to resolve what the real cause if her pain. This is so unacceptable. I live in Washington DC and had to call several times to get information. I don't know what this hospital policy or procedures are when a patient has been there four times, and on the fifth day they admitted her, to not even a room. The nurse she was assigned was so unprofessional and disregard for the people who need care. I will be going to the news station to have them look into the care people are receiving. Also, I called the customer number the hospital have, to call and leave a message. This is the worst situation any person can be in

Please see my attached photo from my stay at your facility. This is disgusting especially now seeing how much I am being charged for a dirty room. Room service did not come once, and I had to ask the nurse to take my trash and bring me fresh towels and sheets. My rocking chair was broken as you can see why the flag was on it. This is very upsetting and am very disappointed that my first time stay as a new mom was so disgusting and horrible. the bassinet that was provided for my daughter was also dirty and looked like it was not properly cleaned. I will take this as far up the chain as possible, charging people thousands of dollars to be provided horrible care while in the hospital on top of putting them in dirty rooms. My daughter didn't get a bath until the night before I left and have made a big deal out of it, since I asked 20 times for them to bath her or at least show me how to do it. i also have more pictures that can be provided.

I had an emergency appendectomy at Novant Presbyterian in May 2023. In a scary, painful situation, I was treated by amazing team members. From the nurses to the emergency department doctor to the surgical team, everyone was kind and informative. I really appreciated the time the ED doctor took to explain potential differential diagnoses and their treatments before the inflamed appendix was confirmed. I also appreciated the surgeon coming to my ED room to explain the procedure step by step. Once I was moved to the pre/post surgery area, the entire surgical team introduced themselves and told me what their role would be. Upon waking back in the pre/post the nurses were caring and helpful to get me ready to go back home. While I would not wish an emergency appendectomy on anyone, I can recommend the Novant Presbyterian team. They could not have had a better bedside manner.

Today my visit with Novant was the worse , I was seen by dr johananna e kreafle at Presbyterian hospital downtown on Hawthorne ln . As in my chart I have very serious health conditions and instead of hearing me out , doing proper tests and going through my chart seeing my history. She instantly requested a drug panel ( which came back negative/ normal ) because I denied Tylenol for my epilepsy and back pain . She was very inappropriate and she had the worse attitude . She didn’t properly take my vitals or anything . I been in the medical field and been to the dr plenty of times so I know how this go. She judge me , she was racist , unfair and she mistreated me . She then told security to come get me because I questioned her professionalism. If I could give her zero stars I would , I hope she will get more education on how to treat patients without judgment and be kind .

  • syl paugh

They have left me sister in the ER for 24hrs and have done zero test and no one even checks on her to let her use the bathroom. She was in there last week. They let her fall and injured herself more while nurses were next to her and then released her with Blood pressure all over the place. It took me 20min for their service desk to pick up to transfer for me to their Patient Advocate. They were laughing and coughing on the phone for minutes before they even transferred me Patient advocates called me back and said they would handle. They showed up and put a fall warning bracelet on her. Acted like they were invested but within 2hrs they left and no test done. They are refusing to treat and acknowledge my sister, their patient and denying her basic human rights and even the basic of care. If you love yourself and your family do NOT let them go to this hospital

  • Britne M

I'm in sooo much pain with multiple infected abscesses on my scalp, they took my vitals multiple times, did blood work and the nurse told me what my problem was and how they were going to fix it and never seen a doctor, 5 hours in i said can I at least get pain medication, the lady at the front desk put the order in and 9 hours in i still had not been called for medication or just to be seen by a doctor, I LEFT because if I am going to set in pain with no attention I might as well do it at my own house. Hopefully nothing bad happens to me with the lack of care at this place. These nurses were so rude. I heard so many that's not my job that it wasn't funny, or they would just completely ignore you, you can tell there's a big lack of compassion at this place and no love for their jobs.

  • Gabriela Yzaguirre

Brought my daughter in to be seen for an allergic reaction she had hives all over her body .We waited 4 hours and the dr never went in to see my daughter at all not even to check on her one time . Think as a dr for an emergency room the DR should of went on to check on my daughter for an allergic reaction especially with her having hives all over her body not one time she went in the room .the nursing keep telling us that she the dr was Comming but she never show up .even the nurse said that the Dr.will be in shortly that she went to the bathroom 30 min later she never showed up As we were leaving we got the name of the dr that was on shift her name was Megan William. I never waited that long for my child to be seen in a hospital /urgent care .

When I was in Charlotte, I chose to go to Novant Presbyterian hospital because it was close to uptown. It appears I had to go there in May 2021 and had to go into the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). While I was there I was drugged up, sent outside to get jumped by a group of people in the back of the hospital and the crazy thing is they were paid by this Indian doctor. There was a police officer in the back room but it was a crooked cop. That place is terrible. The only reason I gave two stars is because after I left ICU the staff was amazing from that point on. If people tell you stories about that hospital, believe them because it's true. Especially if it come from ICU. Mine happened in May-June 2021. My friends happened in November 2022.

My son just got diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and we spent 5 days here.Every nurse and Dr. Were so nice and full of info we needed and took excellent care of Jordan Raines. There is 1 person from cafeteria I would like to point out and that was Gloria! She came and brought every meal during week and went over and beyond her job and even brought Jordan some craft stuff to do when he was bored.I hope to have her as a friend forever! Also Nancy who taught us about diabetes from the Encronologist office was amazing and taught us so much and also hope for friendship. This is 1st hospital I have ever given 5 stars to and ever having great experience with the circumstances we was dealing with and that's because everyone was so great!

First of all, my wife and I would like to thank you for the wonderful care that you gave our daughter during her time at the hospital. From the CNA‘s, the nurses and the doctors, she could’ve not gotten any better care anywhere else. I see all of the negative reviews and I cannot understand them. My daughter did not survive her illness, but these doctors and nurses were the best ever, they tried all that they could possibly do. At the end they made her as comfortable as possible, and allowed her to pass with dignity. We wish that we could name all the people that made her last days as painless as possible. There’s not words to express our gratitude for the wonderful work that you do. Thank you again. Jim and Cindy Gordy

Go anywhere but here. Went to an urgent care due to some trouble breathing, chest pains and asthma symptoms, they recommended I visit the ER. After arriving to the ER and in multiple intervals of time I was tested multiple times with no doctor or nurse or physician or anything to tell me what was happening. After MORE THAN 7 HOURS waiting and asking multiple times for an update I had to leave. Absolutely ridiculous. What’s worse is that now I am being charged over $1,800 WITH INSURANCE for receiving absolutely no guidance or seeing a doctor. I explained the situation to their billing department and as expected, I have to pay because tests were taken and I “used” their facilities. Absolutely ridiculous and disheartening.

Gave birth at Novant Presby a week ago and connect say enough positive things. All of the staff were so kind. The nurses were truly incredible - they were all so lovely and thoughtful and helpful. Every step of the way we felt so taken care of. The hospital was very full when we were there, so we had to wait to get to the next room a few times but that never got in the way of our care. I would 1000% recommend this facility to anyone looking for caring staff to safely help you deliver your baby! I had a very long labor, and loved every shift of care team that we had. Even when they were busy, they were always prompt and took our concerns and needs seriously. Huge thank you to Novant L & D!!!

Nov 8, 2022 My physician sent me to the ER due to chest pains. I got tests done as soon as I walked in. 4 hours later I was still waiting to hear something/ANYTHING about my situation. I was told I was waiting on a room so the doctor can discuss everything with me in private. I then had a nurse come and escort me to a gurney in the middle of the hallway and tell me the doctor would be with me shortly. For all of that the doctor could’ve talked to me where I was in the waiting room. According to the nurse, there were no beds available yet I laid on a gurney across from a room that was empty and AVAILABLE literally the entire time I was in the back. COMPLETELY RIDICULOUS!

Went to ER 6/13/2022 for abdominal pain. I did not know about this hospital since I am from Florida visiting my family but this hospital was the closest to me. If you value your life don't go there the most disgusting hospital I ever seen but to top it off they don't provide service at all, they let you sit down for hours without any consideration. My pain was excruciating and they did not give me anything and told me I had to wait for other 30 patients ahead of me. I ended up going to Atrium Health where I had to have surgery, if I stayed there now I would only be statistics. Please don't go there you don't need that aggravation and possible even loose your life.

I'd like to share my sincere gratitude for the care I received in the Intensive care unit on 2/28/23-3/3/23. Many attended to me however; I'd like to make note of the 2 young nurses that gave me such keen attention and care. They cared for me as one would care for their mother. I wanted for nothing because they watched over me and the equipment I was hooked up to with great detail. The manner in which they worked gave me only one thing to think of, and that was to fight to get better. I wish I could remember their names; but I can't be more grateful for the work they did. Thank you to the nurses, the doctors and the staff for your diligence and professional care.

  • Dana G

My experience at this facility was above and beyond wonderful! Everyone I encountered was pleasant and had a genuine since of care and concern for me. My nurses, techs, and doctors were all so sweet and made me feel so safe during my stay. I know that their kind approach to care was one of the reasons my recovery went so smooth. Everything was well explained, and I was always made aware of the expectations they had for me in order to get me home safely! My room and hallways were quiet which made it easy for me to get rest after my procedure, and everyone I worked with made me feel like my health was top priority! They will be my preferred facility in the future.

  • Jeremy Free

Shout out to Martin S. He is AMAZING. If you have to have surgery you need to hope you have him taking care of you. Someone who genuinely cares. Give him a raise or promotion, Novant. He deserves every bit. Then there was Heather and Breeze who basically made me forget I was about to have back surgery because of their friendly and caring personalities. Judy was amazing. Friendly and handled everything so smoothly and professionally. She got me out of there as fast as she could while tending to my needs. Cam in the OR was so friendly. Then all of my surgical team whose names I can't recall (blame it on the drugs) were OUTSTANDING!

  • SaaJada McManus

I wish there was a way to give it no stars. If there is an emergency PLEASE don't go here. This is by far one of the worst hospitals I've ever been to in my life. The staff has no passion, they're rude, it's no communication between them with each other nor the patients. By far the most unorganized hospital. Security is a joke, a man had his pants down doing lord knows what up under his hoodie and they just walked over and looked at him and walked away. Patients were practically begging to see the doctor. It took me 9 hours of waiting and still getting no answer to say enough is enough. I will never be returning again!

  • Kisha Williams

Horrible experience in the emergency department last night. The front desk and the lab techs were really good but I was there for 9 hours and never saw the Dr. An elderly patient urinated on the floor. Hours later hospitality came and wiped it up with a blanket and used the same blanket to wipe up another area of liquid then walked away. No cleaning or disinfectant used. Another senior was there waiting for 12 hours. The wait is an issue but the lack of communication is worst. Nurses didn't acknowledge several patients when asked questions or would say, "I'll check" and not return. There has to be a better system.

The care was very bad. Tonight I spent 4 hours with my daughter who had a fever and they only gave her Motrin. The nurse forcibly put the cotton swabs in her mouth to take a sample. She put us in a room where we were never treated. When I left Let's see if they had more children, they had all already left and they never came to help us. I left the room with my two children and my husband and they just stayed looking at each other without asking anything, how ugly that they treat the children like that and making someone feel so bad, I don't know what happens now in that hospital, it wasn't like that before.

  • Michele Fadel

I give it no stars ( it wouldn't let me give it no stars, you have to give it 1 to post your comment) because they were horrible and my husband died because of their lack of knowledge. The Ambulance refused to take him to the Matthews location were they all know him and helped him. There was 3 minutes difference in location. Everyone knows if you go to Novant Main you will die! Horrible place!!! There were patients laying on the floor down the hall in the area where they were supposed to be helping people. Don't ever go there if you love your loved ones. They will not come out alive.

Literally waited 3hours to get a room and be seen for cyst to be lanced. Was sent here by my OB because I was in pain after hours needless to say I’m still sitting here….was here at 4am with two people in waiting room. It’s 7:08am those people were here prior to me the wait was do long they’ve left. The staff that’s upfront with police officers have not asked once if patients are okay. I’ve asked several nurses for assistance and help only to receive the same answer we’re sorry please wait. It’s now 7:10am NO ASSISTANCE. The worst hospital in Charlotte unless you’re giving birth!!!!

  • Keith Hengel

I have never had more of a bad attitude and rudeness from nurses than I've had at Presbyterian hospital.... I understand that they are busy but that is no excuse for rudeness to the family of the patients. My mother was in the hospital for two weeks out of those two weeks we probably had two great nurses out of eight. If you want to avoid the attitude then hit the button and wait 30 minutes ..Do not go into the hallway and ask questions cause that seems to be what triggers the rudeness... would recommend not going to this hospital if at all possible

  • Courtney Love

I feel so disrespected by staff I arrived I told the recipient what was wrong I was seated. Hearing other patients saying they been waiting 2 hours I decided to leave go to another facility. A male nurse with burgundy scrubs short with brown hair very loudly said u just got here I was so over it I ask the other staff member do they want to cut my bracelet the same nurse said nope keep them for memory just unprofessional. Even the other staff in the back was laughing and saying unprofessional things. If I don't have to I'll try to never go back

  • Jasmine S

Don’t come here!!!! They send preemies home with no hat on or even wrapped up in a blanket. You would of thought they would be more concern about babies, being that we are in a bad timing. Covid, viruses etc is out. They did my delivery wrong which almost lead me to death. They didn't check me correctly after delivery that’s why half of my placenta was still inside of me. I lost 2 pounds of blood. I can go on about this hospital. If you love your life don’t come here. If you want a happy and safe delivery don’t come here.

  • Fresh Jones

Took my wife there after she passed out at work, they took blood work & put an IV in her arm & put us back in waiting room.. after 10hours of waiting w/her in pain & nobody acknowledge her needs we decided to leave. Waiting room stink due to so many homeless people in there. They refused to give us any paper work stating we was there for her job. We went to hunterville ER & was seen immediately in-out within 1.5 hour…. Hunterville ER was clean & they had great customer service, empathy, & concern for my wife’s pain..

  • Arlene Amengual

Having the most horrific experience with this hospital. My husband has been here several times only to leave and develop life threatening sepsis twice. Trying to get out now with lengthy red tape holding us up. Very uneasy about the inefficient home health care being ordered. Husband has a drain that needs attention twice a day they are offering maybe once a week. Really a crime how they handle seriously I’ll patients. If ineffective aftercare results in an infection we will hold them responsible as should Medicare.

My recent experience at Novant Presbyterian Hospital outpatient surgery was better than I could have expected or could have asked for. The process from entrance to the hospital to discharge was extremely efficient and ran quite smoothly. All of the personnel treated me with friendliness, respect and utmost compassion. Everyone seemed to express a true interest in my comfort and well being . I was given complete information about every step of the process and also everything I should expect with postoperative care.

  • Mahbod Naimi

I would leave 0 stars if I could. John J Marcel ruined my ankle with two botched surgeries due to whatever negligence he was displaying. His whole medical team recommended another surgery while he recommended more BOOT time. I HAD FIVE TEARS AND HE DIDN’T PREP FOR SURGERY WITH ENOUGH DONOR TENDON! BEWARE WHO YOU USE!!! Idk how is rated so high on NOVANTs website but I’ve met multiple people who have had botched surgeries from his hand and still need reconstruction. #thief #notadoctor @mahbodnaimi for more info!

  • Mrs. Alexander

Its very sad watching to see this place lose its value and purpose of helping others . I'm not understanding but from the looks I'm not even understanding why their in business they should just turn it into a homeless shelter. I feel elders and kids should always receive top priority care. I remember being in school and everyone always wanted to be in the medical field and the teacher would say GOOD , WE WILL ALWAYS NEED NURSES AND DOCTORS... it sounded so purposeful but going here is it even that ?!

  • Bridget Havrilla

I have had two operations performed at Novant Health Presbyterian recently, both of which were extremely successful. The doctors, nurses and administrative staff "all" showed great care and focus on my particular concerns. I would easily refer Novant to any and all of my friends and family after the extremely skilled, personal and professional care they gave me at their facility. Thank you to the entire staff, especially in the operating room, for your interest in my successful recovery .

  • Tabetha Stiles

I recently had a very surprising problem with my heart. I had no idea what was wrong, I just knew something was wrong! Not only did they find out what was wrong the very same day I came in, they were able to place a prosthetic heart valve within a few days. The doctors and nurses are amazing. You will have to have your temperature checked when walking in the door and you cannot get in the door without a mask. They are truly working to keep their patients and visitors as safe as possible.

  • Autumn Zelsnack

I went to the ER around midnight last night after dealing with an allergic reaction that had been jumping around my skin for two days and causing me a ton of pain and discomfort. I didn’t expect quality care at that time at night because I know how busy and chaotic it is, but I was pleasantly surprised by the care I received. They were quick and attentive and for once it seemed like the doctor and nurses genuinely cared, even down to the receptionists at the desk. Thank you to everyone!

  • Heidi Noll

I am in the Army. (Visiting family)- I traveled here from Fort Wainwright Alaska and had major issues breathing. The hospitals staff has been the best that I have ever seen in my 20 plus medical career in the Army. (ER nurse’s Ms. Payton Ms Kauce. Yes they are short staffed and wait times can be long and anyone not feeling well can feel some sort of way. But your hospital is amazing. Thank you for saving my life. My Army leadership in Alaska is very thankful also. Heidi Noll

  • Scott MacEwan

Olivia and Adrianna were amazing nursers over the past two days in working the 7 am to 7pm shifts bringing me through some unexpected post surgical conditions. That said they were attentive, responsive, professional, competent in dealing with my conditions all the while discussing how I and their significant others truly love hotsauces on our foods. You are in great hands with this team and they will make your say a 4 sat experience!

  • Vickie Ramsey

I came to the hospital today to get a cement injection for a fracture in my back. I was taken to a small room to get ready for my procedure. My nurse was the sweetest lady. Everyone was making sure i was comfortable so so sweet. My pain level was so high before the procedure. They made sure to give me pain meds because my bp was really high. Would I highly recommend this hospital? ABSOLUTELY!!

  • forrestgump1000

Wife had surgery today, we were told to be there at 0830, they took her back and then to surgery around 1030, I was told to wait in the family waiting room, for the first couple of hours they were good at giving u updates, I was told my wife was waiting for a room, after another hour, I ended up going to to information desk and the lady told me my wifes room number, by then it was 2:30pm

  • Linda Michalak

My surgeon, Dr Janelle Fauci is incredible. She has a passion for making people feel her dedication and sincerity in every capacity and every step along the way. I received such excellent care for my surgery. My entire medical team was professional, thoughtful, and focused with my needs for the entire process.Thank you to each person for contributing to an overall exceptional experience.

  • Adam Lockwood

Not only was the care of my 3 day old child negligent, but the "patient advocate" department is complete joke. I have proof of the negligence and the hospital refuses to do anything about it. If only they had half the care Lake Norman Regional has... From reading the other reviews here, it looks like plenty of other people have had the same experience, but nothing is being done about it.

  • Michelle Miller

I scheduled an appointment using the website, received a confirmation as well. I’m new to the area. I arrive to the appointment (leaving work early losing pay) just to find out the appointment was canceled and I was supposed to receive a cancellation appointment phone call, which I never received. Unprofessional and very inconvenient. Back to the drawing board to find a Obgyn.

  • Patrice Brown

My experience since arriving here has not been good at all. I've been wheeled to several departments and just left for long periods of time. My pain worsens and I haven't even been assigned an emergency room yet.. I've been just left in the hallway. Staff on duty in the ER have been less than pleasant or helpful. Not a good experience for a person I have excruciating pain.

  • C Simons

I had a very good experience. I was very nervous initially. My doctor and the staff from beginning to end, were very informative and compassionate. My mind was set at ease. Every step of my process was explained to both my husband and I. The nurses, Cnas, techs and doctors were phenomenal. Thank you so Dr. O, Chioma, Jessica, Andrea, Areauanna and everyone who helped me.

  • Julie Weeks

My autistic son Justin had a dental procedure done at Novant Presbyterian Hospital recently. From start to finish he was treated with respect, kindness and compassion. Everyone explained everything and answered all my questions. My whole family has had procedures done at Presbyterian and I would highly recommend this hospital to anyone.

  • Aaron Marshall

ER needs work. I realize the location and amount of patients coming in but it’s simply not cutting it. I was born in this hospital and love when I’m actually in a room because the staff takes such good care of me. It can definitely be scary in the ER when you’re surrounded by people in pain and it literally takes hours to be seen.

  • Larry McCrary

I'm here now after a prostatectomy. This has been the worst 18 hours that I've ever spent in the hospital. I must be in the noisiest room in the hospital. Even the staff laughs about it. I find no humor in the situation as I cannot sleep at night or during the day. There are plenty of other issues but no further detail is needed.

  • Christopher Tucker

My wife has surgery here and the recovery at this hospital was great. The staff here are very great. Their bedside manners and the genuine compassion from them was a breath of fresh air compared to other experiences we've had. Everyone we delt with was professional, friendly and very knowledgeable. Thank you all so much.

  • Laura Wilkinson

Today is Thanksgiving. So, I want everyone to know how thankful I am for all of the amazing staff that work for Novant. They are going above and beyond to give the love of my life the best care. There are absolutely not enough wonderful things I could say. If you want real care by caring people go straight to Novant.

  • Ashley Conley

Idk if they only have 1 doctor on shift but the wait is ridiculous. If you’re dying DO NOT come here. Ive literally been checked in for over 5 hours and still don’t have any help or reason for my initial visit. There was only 5 other ppl in the waiting room when I came in. Y’all need to do better. MERCY would never.

  • Rosanne Bates

PHM's surgery center was awesome. Their communication before and during surgery was very much appreciated. From phone calls prior to the day of surgery, check-in at 4:30 am through pre-op was a total team effort. A special shout out to my nurse, George, who explained every step of the pre-op and post-op process.

  • Brent Kraiss

My son wasted 12 hours in this horrible excuse for “healthcare” for emergency psychiatric care. Somebody PLEASE close this sorry excuse for a health care billing clown show. Charlotte is big enough now to expect professional services. Not this sorry mess and it’s sorry sister at Atrium.

  • Kenyatta Nasir

The doctors here in the emergency room are actually ok but the nurses here in the emergency room very immature and clueless in my opinion. I’ve never dealt with such unprofessionalism before at any hospital. No matter what my emergency is I will not be returning to this hospital at all.

  • Rich C

Very Professional Staff, from checking in to discharge the staff were great. Doctor performed surgery was great and very helpful in discussing the procedure before and after. Rooms were clean and well kept. Parking can be a bit of a challenge get there early to get a convenient spot.

  • Jennifer Castro

I was pushed out of the hospital only three hours after surgery while still vomiting. It was a terrible experience. I hope to never have a surgery there again. The head of staff did call me to apologize but it is clear something is missing from their patient care culture.

  • Gwen Sports

Had chest pain, blood pressure high. Went in emergency room at 4:15 pm and stayed in Waiting room until 1:00 a.m. in the morning Need to show you pictures of my arm where they took blood. Will NOT GO BACK TO THIS HOSPITAL IF I WAS DIEING... SORRY HOSPITAL AND STAFF....

  • Donna Ashley

Horrible not close to on time ,parking is a nightmare you have to walk forever and then wait time is horribly long no use having appt time! Computers wouldn't work, employees were sloppy and unhelpful had somewhere else to be I guess! Wish there was a no star option

  • Lynne Lippert

Everything went better than expected. Fast and courteous check in and the nurse that did my scan couldn’t have been any kinder. She was knowledgeable and answered all my questions, usually before I could even ask. The faculty was clean and everyone was nice.

  • GirasolKS

Thanks for a great experience during my recent procedure. The entire staff rocked and made me feel safe and comfortable during my entire time at Novant. Shout out to my most amazing care team, Dr. Harward, Dr. Shaffer, and Amanda (RN). Thakns for caring!

  • Gary Wilt

From Registration to Discharge I was treated courteously, was kept informed as to the next step in my procedure, and was made comfortable at all times. Verbal and email messages were sent that related to the next phase of my procedure. Very impressive!

  • Kelli Mack

I delivered at Novant Presbyterian this past Thursday/Friday and was overjoyed by my experience! I was so scared going in but every one, during my 31 hours of labor, was great! The maternity teams was amazing especially Dr Givens and Nurse Madeline!

  • Julia Williams

(labor and delivery area) the nurse i believe her name was roxanne a young woman with glasses was such a amazing nurse she made me feel like a priority i wish i could have kept her as my nurse the whole time!! she’s the best one i’ve had in my stay

  • M L

I waited 6 hours to get stitches that took the doctor 15 minutes to do. There was less than 5 people in the waiting room! They also charged the insurance $80 for 2 Tylenol pills the nurse casually offered me. A bunch of insensitive criminals.

  • Renat Z.

Im from Florida and am visiting to work at a faire near by. I’m allergic to anesthesia and my Enteral Peg tube fell out and needed to be replaced. And because of how my intestines are shaped, it usually needs to be replaced with anesthesia.

I had emergency surgery at Novant Presbyterian Hospital in April 2023. The surgeon was outstanding. The care from the nurses was outstanding. I had to have another surgery a few months later and again the doctors and nurses were phenomenal.

ER per Dr for chest pains and shortness of breath after major spine surgery 5 days before with possible pulmonary embolism. I waitedand waited for any type of response. NOTHING!!! . The black guy at registration said sit down you're fine.

On May 31 I brought a friend to the ER around 2 pm. At 1:30 am on 6/1 we still haven't been seen by a physician. 12 hrs is way to long for someone to be waiting. There are seniors that have been waiting even longer. If you are short of
