I have loved Dr. Wright but the front desk staff is atrocious. I had a baby this year so last year I didn't go in for my physical because I was going into the OBGYN so much and getting my blood drawn, etc and was advised it was unnecessary. Fast forward to this year, I schedule my physical and get a call from Cher(sp?) that the doctor won't be in the day of my appointment so it was canceled and I have to reschedule. I called back because I'm home with an infant and missed the call. The appointment was immediately canceled in MyChart without talking to me or confirming I knew what was going on. When I called back, I was told that I couldn't get in for a physical this year anymore because I needed "more time" with the doctor because I hadn't been in last year. I explained I had plenty of up to date medical records and she still insisted the doctor needed more time. I stated I had no idea why because I had 0 concerns, I was trying to just keep up with my well being. She couldn't explain why, but me needing "more time" was why I couldn't be seen this year at all anymore. When I said that was last minute because she gave me 0 options she tried to say it wasn't. If you are giving someone no options, it's last minute. I don't care if the appointment isn't tomorrow. Then, the front desk person transferred me to the practice manager, which was an unidentified voice mail. So now I have no appointment and no solution. If this is how it's going to be, I may as well just find a new practice with helpful front desk staff.

Love this practice. If there were more stars, I'd give this practice them all. From the time I walked to the Front Desk to the time I checked out my experience was great. Front desk staff was very nice and informative. I'm aware of what their job requirements are due to being in the same field. They checked off everything needed to be asked and completed. I met with Dr. Thamrah R. Wright to establish care. She was very professional and knowledgeable. She took the time to speak with me step by step regarding every issue I had, and made sure I didn't leave without asking questions or making any comments or providing additional concerns. When my examination was completed I had my pneumonia shot complete by a girl named Dana, I believe that was her name. She was very sweet and even taught me a technique regarding the shot, I didn't feel a thing. I've had numerous bad experiences with physicians and doctor's offices so I stayed away for a bit, but my visit here was all that I could ask for and more. Even the checkout lady was very nice (I'm sorry I didn't get her name) but I just wanted to say to anyone looking for a great place to go with an awesome experience please call them to schedule an appointment today. Great job ladies!!

5 stars for care by Kimberly Polonsky, I feel comfortable reaching out to her for anything and being candid about my health concerns. She really takes the time and cares. However I just got off the phone with a receptionist to book a follow up visit and was given attitude. I stated I needed to book an appointment for four weeks out. She asked when? I said 4 weeks thinking maybe she didn’t hear me, and she yelled FROM WHAT DATE? WHAT DATE? I said today and she said that’s funny because your doctor isn’t even in the office today. I said I was messaged over the weekend to make an appointment. I’m a medical assistant, I’ve been a receptionist, I try to always be kind when I’m speaking with people who are in those roles because I get it. I truly do, but that interaction was uncalled for. I just wanted my video appointment not to be made to feel stupid. If someone is being irate and disrespectful by all means snark, but don’t work in a field caring for people in varying levels of vulnerability if you can’t make a call to set a date pleasant. If it wasn’t for clinical and Kimberly Polonsky providing such great care, I’d never call back again and find a new office.

I needed a primary care physician and after reviewing Dr. Wright's bio, I felt comfortable making an appt. with her. I was about 5 min. late so I believe I threw off the schedule and did have to wait about 30 min. Once back in the exam room, Dawn was wonderful. Very warm, approachable and personable with her questions. Dr. Wright is definitely a 5. She checked back through my records in two states to determine test results as part of her research prior to meeting me. I don't know that I have had a physician tell me that before. Normally they ask questions and jot down your answers. She already knew a lot of them. I found her kind, thorough and very focused. We spent a great deal of time - most of that her talking, asking questions and taking notes along with a physical exam. I did have blood drawn and the technician chatted about my area of town, churches... When I checked out, they asked me how I found Dr. Wright. I have never been asked that question! And I believe they were sincere in asking that question. I have already told about 5 people about the visit - I found the entire experience very rewarding.

THESE QUACKS DONT CARE ABOUT YOUR HEALTH. THEY WILL FORCE YOU INTO BANKRUPTCY WITH MISDIAGNOSES AND REFUSING TO HELP OR TEST FOR ANYTHING. I wasted 6 months listening to this crack tell me its just gerd and ibs and have been dragged through a number of tests that dont even pertain to my illness. I asked for a cancer screening after losing 1/3 of my total body weight in less than 5 months (along with a HUGE number of symptoms equal to a form of leukemia, including numbers on my blood work)but was informed i dont have any markers or symptoms of cancer so no i cant have the screenings done. I have been demanding tests and answers and have been sent to the emergency room due to one of these tests. They have forced me into bankruptcy because im sick and dying and they dont care, they arent looking for a cause or cure, the dont care. Ive been misdiagnosed for 6 months, and no one cares.

I will not attend this office again and recommend that you don't either. I had Dr. Wright, and not only was she not thorough with my care, but it is also her fault that I now have an unnecessary $2,300 hospital bill. This office messed up the storage of one of my test specimens AND Dr. Wright misdiagnosed me. The only reason I found out the correct diagnosis was because I got a call from the NC health department about tracing due to test results. Dr. Wright unnecessarily sent me to the ER -- not urgent care -- because she would not see me same day. It was not an urgent enough emergency to have given me those instructions, and the hospital sent me home after a few hours. To add insult to injury, Novant as a healthcare system refused to help me with the bill even though their doctor prompted the unnecessary and overpriced visit in the first place.

I’ve been at this practice for a few years and was almost giving up after a revolving door of PCP’s. I started seeing Dr. Carroll and he is such a kind and compassionate doctor. On an off chance I got to see Dr. Wright and I’ve only gone to her since. She is amazing. I almost don’t want to share the treasure I have in her because I don’t want too many people to take her away from me lol. She always calls to check up on me if she’s seen I’ve been to the ER, Urgent Care or I’ve sent a message on MyChart and she wasn’t able to message me back or I didn’t reply to her message. You never feel overlooked and unheard. I love her accent and her bedside manor. She is a great listener and I hope when my teenager graduates from the pediatrician they choose Dr. Wright also.

March 2023: Novant is really stepping it up with the quality of care they provided and the healthcare professionals they hire. My OB referred me to Dr. Wright because I’m struggling with high blood pressure after my second pregnancy and I needed a primary to monitor it and provide a new prescription that doesn’t give me crippling headaches. Dr Wright listened to me. I was heard. I was seen. I felt welcomed. I was given recommendations and alternatives to medicine that will help me control my BP and weight. It’s day 2 of the new BP meds and I haven’t had a headache yet! I highly recommend Dr Wright if you want a Primary that will listen to you without interruptions and that will see you as a person, a mother, a spouse, a daughter- not just another patient.

It was very hard to call and make an appointment due the long wait times on the phone. And, I had to wait almost 2 months to even get an appointment. I was 15 minutes early for my appointment, yet the front desk was rude to me. She asked me to leave and come back when it was time for my check-in. No one was in the lobby but me, I asked if I could make other appointments while I was there so I would not have to wait on the phone for an hour. The receptionist was a again rude and told me to do it after my appointment. I said I have to rush and go to work so she begrudgingly helped me, but had a attitude. I did not appreciate that. I love my dr and I waited patiently for her but the wait time was longer than usual.

Well visits go fine but please don't be sick and need prompt assistance. My prior visit, I came here they scheduled my appointment during a team meeting (they actually had up a sign) and there were many people in the waiting room. It took so long the NP (Martha is awesome) I was there to see came out to get me herself. Today I made an appointment for 3:30 and at 4:36 I was still waiting to see Dr. Melinda Carter. She took so long I went home (chest pains and all). Honestly it's a 50:50 shot that they will figure out what's wrong with you. They guess a lot and sometimes get it right. I will probably go back to Carolina medical....they had better doctors and shorter wait times

The staff is unprofessional and careless! They are not trying to retain customers.They scheduled my appointment without informing me about their office's specific policies and requirements or checking on the neccessary information on their end. After waiting for an appointment for more than a month I was told that they couldn't see me. After I did my part to meet their requirements, they told me I had to wait another month for an appointment. Extremely disappointed! Would not recommend this practice!

Edit: changing my review to 1 star. The response from Novant is a farce. Called and emailed the details provided with absolutely no resolution. And just this week my wife went for a physical at a Novant doctor who sent her labs to an out of network lab. Another surprise bill for $161 in the mail. Find another healthcare provider; Novant doesn't care about you. Where's the accountability to the patient to ensure they aren't burdened with unnecessary medical costs?

Dr Carroll Dr Rabassa superb individuals that take your health seriously. I’ve been a regular patient around 15-20 years, when I contracted Covid in 2021 Dr Carroll went above and beyond the call of duty to find me a location to get an infusion. I was admitted to Presbyterian for 6 days being on MyChart also was a good thing I could see all my lab results within minutes. These Doctors are great doctors but God has the final say.

Dr. Polonsky and staff treated me with respect, I felt like they were focused only on me, my needs and questions. I felt very comfortable in their care and I'm one who doesn't usually trust many people, no matter the profession. They also called within 24 hours to update me on my referrals and assisted in finding ones that accept my insurance. Thank all of you for treating me like a person and not just another number.

Kimberly Polonski is an awesome provider. If you want A +++++++++++ care, go see her! You will not be disappointed. You will not get the run around. She always has a big, happy smile on her face, she examines pts thoroughly and knows exactly what she’s doing. If you are not satisfied with your current primary provider, quickly make an appointment with Kimberly. You will see positive changes in your health.

Dr. Jill Rabassa is awesome! She's been my PCP for over 15 years so you could say we got history-- the good kind. I trust her implicitly. When she comes into the room, I get her full attention. She believes in treating the "whole patient" and I like that. Plus she's not a pill pusher. Dr. R listens closely to my concerns and involves ME in seeking sustainable solutions for MY health needs. Imagine that.

Had my first patient visit. Although it took months to get the appointment, it was well worth it. Dr. T. Wright was very attentive and answered all of my questions. Our time together did not seem rushed and she made sure I understood my next steps. The front desk were welcoming and polite. I arrive 10 minutes before my scheduled time and was taking to my room promptly at my appointment time!

The staff was great! It was my first visit and I felt welcomed. My appointment was conducted in a timely manner and I appreciate that my physician was very thorough with explaining the process. The only concern was that I had to schedule my appointment about a month out which was the earliest availability. It's not anyone's fault its just the system right now.

Dr Karan, was a provider I saw as urgent. His bedside manner was not good at all. I felt like a number and not a person. He talked to be heard and then walked out the room leaving door open , to tell me the exit was to my right. I truly appreciate my NP because she cares, listening, and she is someone I feel comfortable in caring for my overall health.

Dr Jill Rabassa and the entire staff at Novant Health Randolph Family Medicine are always so pleasant, attentive, knowledgeable, and make me feel as if they have time to see me and answer any questions and concerns I might have. I appreciate such individualized attention and care! I have never had physician as caring and thorough as Dr Rabassa!

Not willing to work with their clients at all. I do everything with Atrium Health, who is super helpful, and unfortunately we had to go through novant in trying to get my step sons - my husband's sons information, and they really had no care to accommodate us at all!! It was quite sad. However it made me appreciate Atrium Health so much more!!!

I called in to schedule an appointment and they told me my doctor was no longer at the practice. I never received a letter or anything. They told me that they could get me in on Monday. I was really sick and needed to see someone that day. They said the only other option was the emergency room in a very rude tone. So incredibly unprofessional.

I like Dr Thamrah Wright because she is a caring person and she's someone I can talk to and be comfortable about it. Dr. Karan Shukla saw me on August 26, 2002 and I like to say that he showed a lot of concern of my issues. He took time out explaining things to me and he was very kind. My family and I have been patients with this practice for 10 plus years, I can't say enough good things about all the Doctors and staff. Always polite and helpful interactions and my PCP Dr. Rabassa is so thoughtful, caring and compassionate. She always makes me comfortable and is very attentive to my health and well being concerns.

Had a simple request for records. The front desk lady was rude and unhelpful. She acted like helping me was bothersome. She dropped her pen dramatically when entering info on the computer, rolled her eyes, etc. On the other hand, the nurse was really nice. Overall not happy with the experience and will look at other offices

Every staff member I interacted with were extremely professional and courteous from the moment I walked in, to when I left. Dr. Polansky is a great doctor. She listened to me and I feel like together we came up with the best plan for my health. I feel like I've got a doctor that I will stick with forever. Thank you!

Dr.Brian Carroll has been my primary care doctor for several years now and he is an excellent doctor. He always listen to my health concerns and he responds to my questions promptly. He is the best doctor I ever had. I wish more doctors were like him.

Been here twice for a yearly wellness exam. Staff is great and Dr. Carol is wonderful. Also, the MA/Lab Tech is a dream. After going though hell at previous places and donations, this guy had the quickest and most painless blood pull I've ever had.

I was a little bit sad when Dr. Wright opted out to possibly be my primary care physician. But otherwise the staff and nurses were very nice, attentive to my care, and willing to help me with my after summary visit, questions and medical records!

Really enjoyed meeting Dr. Shukla. He was personable And knowledgeable. The lady at the front desk is rude. I’ve seen plenty of reviews that say the same thing, and it’s true. It doesn’t take much to make someone feel welcome at the front desk.
