I’ve found that the care under this hospital is second to none. From surgeons to nursing staff they are are fantastic. Now, where it goes wrong is when you’re wanting to make contact. Their communication is pitiful. I’ve filled out their online contact form three times for certain questions to answered, this was after being told ( via their telephone number) that someone would contact me ( which they didn’t, and I’m still waiting ). Again, if you are wanting to chase something up or find out information, it very tiresome. And I will state that I’m a private patient, so don’t think you’ll get preferential treatment. Again, I must stress that my consultant and nurses where fantastic but nuffield is severely let down by their communications. Unfortunately, when you’re stressed about hospital procedures and results, this is the last thing you need, believe me. Think hard about using Nuffield. 8/01/20 REPLY TO NUFFIELD RESPONSE ; Regarding your reply. From reading your reply it appears I need to be clear as to why I’m not too happy with your communication team. After my final consultation ( 9th September 2019) I was told I would be referred to another consultant. I was in the understanding that you or the next consultant would make contact. After a lengthy amount of time approx 3-4weeks of hearing nothing I’ve then made attempts to speak with you. Using your online contact form requested an update. I was then told that I would be contacted by my consultants secretary. This did not happen On the 8th October 2019 I have then filled in another email contact form asking to be contacted again and I’ve also asked another question about my care which was made on behalf of my GP - this was recieved but you did not answer. On the 19th November I’ve then filled in another contact form asking for contact and expressing my disappointment to the fact that no one had contacted me to which you yet again did not answer. in all three email contact forms ( over a month) asking for you to make contact me. After placing the review of Leeds Nuffield on google on the 7th of January I then received a phone call from my consultant secretary and Nuffield management in reference to my review. Now I accepted their apology for their failings this afternoon but after reading this reply I’m somewhat perplexed! Not only is it factually wrong I find it somewhat patronising. You may not have any “ control or influence “ on another consultant outside Nuffield but, I was asking for information on three separate occasions over a 4 month period for which you didn’t reply, surly that is not too much to ask. If I was rating you now you’d get even less stars!!!!

So far, not good, got my appointment time wrong for a start, didn't send me a confirmation letter like they said they would so i rang up on the day to check it was still booked in for 5pm,they confirmed. Got there at 4.45pm to be told my appointment is at 5.30pm ‍♀️so sat in the waiting room for 1 hour until i was seen by the consultant, who had absolutely no idea why i was there and when i explained that i wanted my sterilisation reversed he told me they don't have anyone that does that there, he was saying "well there's andy and so and so but neither of them do it so i will have to ring the hospital accross the road to see if they can do it for you" i left so confused, why do they advertise that they offer female sterilisation reversal surgery on the website and i have an email from them explaining all the tests and costs involved, i thought i was going in to book the operation but was told it was a really rare operation theae days and he tried several times trying to convince me to have IVF instead when that is not what i want, i felt like i had gone to the dentist about an ear infection. He said he was gonna get the other hospital to ring me so i will wait and see what happens but i honestly feel so deflated and upset and wishing id never gone to this hospital when i know there are female sterilisation reversal clinics that do it, should have gone there. I recently had an unfortunate experience at Nuffield Leeds Private Hospital when my wife underwent fibroid surgery. The use of spinal anesthesia led to a fainting episode, and her heart stopped twice during the procedure. This critical incident, seemingly stemming from inadequate preoperative preparations, left us deeply concerned. While I acknowledge that I'm not a medical professional, it appears that the lack of thorough preoperative checks may have contributed to this distressing situation. Despite filing a complaint with the hospital, their response felt dismissive, leaving us with the impression that they may be attempting to downplay the severity of the incident. It's crucial for medical institutions to take accountability for such occurrences and ensure that proper procedures are followed to safeguard patients. This experience has undoubtedly shaken our confidence in the hospital's protocols and procedures. We hope that our feedback prompts a thorough investigation and improvement in patient care to prevent similar incidents in the future. It is my sincere hope that Nuffield Leeds Private Hospital addresses these concerns promptly and takes concrete steps to prevent the recurrence of such distressing situations for other patients and their families.

I had a mild heart attack in December 16 and was treat at Pinderfields who did a wonderful job and I was back up and about. However, after four months the symptoms reappeared and I went to my GP who referred me back to NHS. I received a letter saying it was 6-8weeks for an urgent case. I spoke to my health provider who got me an appointment with a consultant at Nuffield in two days and I went to see him and he diagnosed possible re-narrowing of the artery. I was given the pre-op assessment while I was there and booked in for the procedure in two weeks.I then received a telephone call to say a space had become vacant on Monday so from consultant to procedure was six days . I arrived on the Monday at 3 o'clock and was greeted in reception and then taken to my room where everything was explained. From then on everything moved smoothly and I was back in the room by 7 o'clock with the procedure complete. I was monitored overnight and at 10 am was released. I cannot thank them enough for the efficient service which I received and the staff were so professional and caring.

If I could give this hospital a minus even that would be too good. We have had our lives on hold now dancing to their tune. My husband was meant to have an op, was nearly on the operating table and even though we had asked and been told no, they had not told him to stop his aspirin, rebooked the op Fri 13th, oh someone more urgent needs doing, cancelled op 2 days before, booked 2nd Sept, gets a call all good, then a call to say its cancelled again. Not to mention the fact last Friday we spent nearly 2 hours there as they had lost his notes . Now booked for the 16th well I won't hold my breath, we just keep isolating, testing for covid and no real outcome all the while the pain is getting worse not to mention we been waiting since 2019 where we put our lives on hold as they did preassessment in the August of that year.i guess if you are paying the guy that's on the NHS just gets bumped down the list with as many excuses as they can think of.

I recently underwent a C.A.B.G. x3 operation at your facility and spent two nights on C.C.U. and 4 on the Ingleborough ward. All the staff on the C.C.U. were giving 110% whenever needed. Only dropping back to 100% once everything was running perfectly. Everyone else involved in my care were similarly excellent in their attitude and would explain everything asked if needed. The place is kept very clean and housekeeping /catering etc is also top notch. Lots of different tips to "clear my lungs" after the operation soon found one that worked for me. Here I am 11 days post op walking around my "block" (3/4 mile) twice a day no problem whatsoever. Needless to say I think My Surgeon MR.Javangula and his chosen Anaesthetist are also complete superstars. I could not find fault with anything. Thank you for my "second" chance I will never forget the fantastic treatment I received with you . David Whitehead

had knee replacement surgery in december. Was left in a wet bed overnight from a leaking ice pack . The hospital failed on more than one occasion to arrange for the district nurse to visit me on discharge which resulted in my having to go back to the hospital for the dressing to be changed and now 7 weeks on after re-occuring infections it is confirmed that I have contracted mrsa - no doubt from my stay at the Nuffield. This is the first time I have had surgery at the Nufffield - i have had numerous surgeries over the last 40 years in NHS hospitals and not once have I contracted anything like this following surgery. I picked the Nuffield because of the location and the low waiting time. The only good thing about this was the consultant Mr Bobak who has been really good and who is now transferring me for further treatment to the LGI

Was referred here by my private medical insurers on 30/12/2020 so tried to book an appointment to see a cardiologist. My insurers gave me three names, Dr. Daniel Blackman, Dr Julian Winter and Dr Christopher Malkin. Called 5 times, spoke to different people and they gave me different information and wrong telephone numbers and still could not make an appointment. This is not the first time to have issues when booking an appointment , it was the same problems when I tried to book an appointment for my wife for a fractured hand last year. What a joke, I will ask my insurers for a different private hospital , never known such a nightmare for just wanting to book an appointment, pathetic!!! Sort it please!!! Update: Was called today 31/12/2020 but was too late booked an appointment with Leeds Spire Hospital already.

Vicki Megson - Self-Pay Team Leader @ Nuffield Health Leeds Hospital was exceptional. We were in urgent need of an operation due to a family member's ill health. I reached out to Vicki and she did everything she possibly could do offer us treatment as quickly as possible. You often find that you speak to people and they will 'come back to you', but never do. Vicki was completely the opposite of this - showing a kind and caring manner. In the end - the NHS came through with treatment - however Vicki even contacted me to say she was pleased we got it sorted and clearly had the wellbeing of our family member at the front of her mind as opposed to it being about making money. I do hope that these values that Vicki showed run throughout the operation - because if they you have chosen some exceptional people.

Attended for an appointment today to see a consultant regarding an accident i had several months ago. I arrived much sooner than I needed because I was worried about being caught in traffic and being late. When I arrived I spoke to a member of staff and explained why I was there and was directed to an underground car park. Luckily they were not busy so allowed me to park early. Normally 20 minutes before your appointment apparently. All the staff I encountered were highly professional and very polite. I was shown to the waiting room where there was tea and coffee. The place was spotlessly clean as it should be. I was seen by the consultant and left to be ushered out by the staff in the car park. A really easy and relaxing experience from start to finish.

I just recently had orthoscopic key hole shoulder surgery at the Nuffield and what an experience it was , I was greeted in the morning and took up to my room . I was visited by Mr Wright , who has over 20 years experience in this field and is a lovely Surgeon who explained to me about my surgery, I was given a good menu and chose what I would like to eat at the end of surgery. I had my surgery and was taken to the recovery room where I was still high as a kite but made feel so at ease and was cared by tess and others , I ate the lovely food and just chilled till it was time to go home . The general anestic guys were so good to say how scared i was about going into theatre. A credit to the staff and hospital. Thank you once again

Visited for a 360 Degree Over 40s Health Check funded by my company. Finding the hospital was easy enough and upon driving to the front of the building there is a small hut just on the right after the main entrance which is where one of the car park attendants works (parking is free in the underground car park for all outpatients). I spoke to him and he radioed down to the attendant in the lower area to let him know I was coming down. The drive to the lower car park is down a tight ramp, so be weary when entering. I parked and the entrance (and lift to reception) was marked and a very short walk. The hospital was very clean and bright and the staff pleasant and helpful and well the internal signage clear and easy to follow.

There are many other private hospitals that are a much better alternative. The way it is run, it is no better than public treatment. What is the point of paying for basic treatment. Booked an ultrasound appointment that I had to wait for two weeks for, which was ridiculous considering ultrasound is only a few minutes and can be done on the day. But it seems this hospital don't have their own radiologist. For the appointments, they urge you to be in 15 mins earlier as it is very important but the only reason they do that is to make you wait that 15 minutes anyway so there is no literal need to be early. Take your insurers and money elsewhere. This is not a good private hospital. Thanks Naz

Just recently had major spinal stenosis surgery done by Dr Pal & his team, the results from my point of view were immediate, Prior to the operation I was virtually bent double, now I’m walking more upright than I have in the last six years, Dr pal was extremely thorough in his explanation as to how & what the surgery included, THANK YOU, AND AlL YOUR TEAM, The nursing & Care afterwards was excellent, Each & every nurse couldn’t have been more caring & helpful, The catering & cleaning staff were just the same, The saying goes, there’s always room for improvement, Well that maybe, but my experience at Nuffield was brilliant, THANK YOU ALL AGAIN, Janet Kay. Room 362 on INgleborough ward.

  • Deen Adam

Absolutely appalled at the behaviour of the car parking staff! I have used this hospital twice one year apart and had the same experience with the car parking staff on each occasion. They make you feel very unwelcome, almost as if you are a hindrance and annoyance. They come across as very rude, unwelcoming, and thuggish. Someone needs to remind them that they are no longer minding the doors of a nightclub against drunken louts, but they are there to assist vulnerable people who have come to the hospital seeking help for their health concerns. I really hope by my next visit something will have been done about this, otherwise I will have to start looking into alternative hospitals.

Yesterday I accompanied my husband to an urologist consultation and it was great as the first times I came to see other consultants for myself. Face masks were back and we felt safe. Last time ,one month ago my husband went there it was terrible ( no masks and people coughing around) so that he left and canceled his consultation. In such conditions I decided to cancel an appointment I got for myself too. Now I’ll call today to get it again as things changed . The doctor we saw yesterday ( Stephen Prescott)was amazing, on time, good explanations and slowly speaking due to our bad English. Thanks a lot to him. Please keep on with our security and masks.

I recently underwent surgery to repair my bicep tendon at nuffield leeds 3 weeks ago. I was very anxious when I arrived on the day for the procedure but I soon found myself feeling overwhelmed with how well I was looked after by the staff on hand. The consultant and surgeon that carried out the procedure was amazing. Having decided not to have a general anaesthetic I was awake throughout the surgery and was kept calm and comfortable the whole time I was in theatre. The ward staff looked after me until they discharged me a few hours later. All in all a pleasant experience from a very warm and professional medical staff team.

  • Dila Ozsakin

I recently had a health assessment at Nuffield Health Hospital and was thoroughly impressed with the exceptional care and professionalism I received. The assessment was conducted smoothly and efficiently, and the staff were knowledgeable, friendly, and supportive throughout. In particular, I must commend Natasha for her outstanding support and assistance. Her reassuring manner, expert knowledge, and attention to detail immediately put me at ease, and her kindness and empathy were evident throughout the assessment. I highly recommend Nuffield Health Hospital to anyone looking for quality healthcare services.

  • Chris Cooke

I had an appointment booked with Dr Bentham. I arrived and the car park attending was great. Reception staff welcoming. My son Isaac saw a nurse called Kennedy who did his ecg, She was brilliant with him and then saw another nurse for some scans. I dint get his name but he was great aswel. Dr Bentham then saw us and explained what my sons heart murmur was and reassured us everything was fine. This all happened within the space of 45 minutes. Can’t recommend dr Bentham and his team highly enough. They where so nice and welcoming to me and my son. Thankyou for everything.

  • Margaret Tattersfield

I cannot rate all the staff at Nuffield highly enough. From my pre med appointment to my discharge, they were amazing. I had suffered for years with back and leg pain, which gradually got worse. I met with Mr Sheikh at LGI and he turned out to be my saving grace. I was terrified when I went to theatre but the staff put me at ease and it was all plain sailing from there. The nurses were on call whenever you needed them, day or night, and even the food was good. Thank you all, you never get enough praise! A very special thanks to Mr Sheikh for giving me my life back!

  • Mary North

It has been 4 years since Dr P Kaul and his team operated on my husband for valve replacement...... From being hardly get upstairs, stand long enough to make a coffee......he now has the nerve to call me idle !! No mention of care I lavished !! However the family are sure without this man and his team skills, he would not be here today! Trust this man and team ....they are wonderful ! The care you will recieve is second to none......from consultant down to the gentlemen operating the car park to ensure you have a place to park! Amazing !

  • Craig Beazley

My son had an operation at Nuffield Leeds hospital. The experience from start to finish made him calm, happy and everything was explained to him at every stage. The nurses who cared for him Emma and Danny are absolutely fantastic and a credit to nursing. The Nuffield experience was exceptional when it’s your family especially when it’s a young relative and it made our stay as comfortable as possible. Nothing has been too much trouble and anything we needed was given. If it was a hotel it would be 5star rated. Thank you very much

  • Stephen Bennett

I don’t normally leave reviews but I feel I need to make an exception on this occasion. I went in for a stent operation yesterday and I can only say that the whole experience from pre-admission, admission, surgery and after care was fantastic. The theatre staff, nursing and support staff and the Doctor who carried out my operation were brilliant. I was sat up in bed having a chicken sandwich half hour after the operation and discharged same day. I can’t thank you all enough!

  • Paul Gregory

My wife and I took time off work and travelled 50 minutes for an appointment which had already been re-arranged by Nuffield and the consultant. We were told after 15 minutes of waiting that the consultant would not be able to make it until 4hrs later if we were prepared to wait as he was delayed in Toronto!! Not good enough for a private medical facility. Whats also concerning is that the consultant was prepared to see my wife after so soon after a 10 plus hour flight.

  • Steven James

Customer service at the Leeds branch is non existent from the car park attendant beneath the building in his little box probably annoyed at earning peanuts to the women on the front desk equally annoyed at being paid to be a dogs body. Shocking pit hole... Avoid! I wouldn't have posted a review however manners cost nothing but when you get paid and have none it's even worse. The little people at the bottom of the chain need some training Nuffield sort it out!

  • G S

I had a hip replacement 6 weeks ago and was treated professionally and in a friendly manner. The ensuite room was great and nothing was too much trouble. My consultant did a good job on my hip. I would've given 5 stars, if I hadn't had to have 3 repeat blood tests owing to Ferretin not tested by pathology as requested by nurses as an outpatient before operation. They did however pay for a taxi there and back the third time

  • Karla DJB

If I could I would give this establishment zero stars. The staff is absolutely ridiculous, needs retraining. Especially Annie Zajac if I have remembered her name correctly. Speaking down to me and my husband and patronising us like we are some sort of nuisance. We have very important family members so you will definitely hear from us about our bad experience. Never again, will rather travel somewhere else.

  • Ian Tolson

Had surgery at nuffield 5 August this year absolutely amazing so well organized ran like clockwork my personal carer went above and beyond in these challenging times, only one downside I was informed by all the paperwork I received that I would be contacted in 24 hrs after surgery this did not happen, apart from that a big well done, to my consultant and his staff and to all the nursing staff on the ward.

  • Tracy Walsh

I accompanied my daughter for a operation that she paid £10,000 for. We had to be there for 07.00, to be greeted by a receptionist who was borderline rude, not bothered at best. waited 30 minutes to be took to the ward, with no seats so had to stand. didn't go down until 11.30. I waited til she came back. no cup of tea. coffee shop shut so tired, hungry and not impressed. left at 5 wouldn't go back x

  • Maggie Casey

I recently had surgery to relieve the pressure on my right trigeminal nerve which had gone mis diagnosed for nearly five years. I bless the day I met with Mr Deniz who took the time to discuss my problem and talk me through the options.. I had the surgery and was home five days later. All my care from the theatre staff down to the ladies who took my food order was wonderful. Thank you all

  • Natasha Rachel

I was an outpatient here for gallbladder removal, and my entire experience was wonderful. In at 7, surgery at half 9, went home at 3. The room I was in was very comfortable and completely private, and I really enjoyed the lunch options. All the staff were attentive and lovely, and Professor Toogood was brilliant with making me feel relaxed and comfortable about the surgery.

  • Tímea Michalik

I had my first surgery ever and I cannot recommend enough this hospital. Was a left knee ACL recon. and meniscus repair. It has the best surgeons, PTs and staff. During my operation and the recovery path I always felt safe and well-looked-after. Was hard to say goodbye to those I knew for a long time. If I could choose again I would definitely say: Just Nuffield, please.

  • Tracey Hopkins

My overnight stay was absolutely outstanding, I can't fault a thing. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, which made me feel more at ease, as I was very nervous about my operation. The staff were always checking on me to make sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. I can't thank the doctors, nurses and other staff enough for all that they did.

  • Bogdan G

A disaster waiting to happen, judging by the way they treat their resident doctors.Never use Nuffield if you care about your health. They will reply and say 'they are in adherence of all regulations' and 'have great feedback from their doctors', but don't buy in, it's management speak that can motivate their morally dubious practices of borderline slavery.

  • Claire White

A very poor experience. Difficult to find and time spent paying in reception was deducted from the time with the consultant! Consultant was self satisfied and made no attempt to offer information. A most expensive and disappointing experience. I even called customer services to complain and tweeted to be contacted and have had no response whatsoever.

  • courtney louise

attended today to have a tooth extraction and i’ve never met nicer staff in a hospital than i have today. they were all so nice and caring i especially recommend the two nurses who looked after me one guy and one woman and also the two members of staff who gave me the anesthia as they put me at ease and made me laugh and smile. would 100% recommend

  • alison holgate

I have just returned home from Nuffield where I had a prolaspe repair I was treated and cared for so well from my consultant, nurses and all housekeeping staff. A special thank you to my day nurse Emmie and my night nurse. I can not fault anything about Nuffield as a patient you are made to feel so comfortable during your stay. Thank you.

  • Jenny Dance Physio

The dermatologist Dr. Hussain was very professional and was able to help my eczema problem. The front desk staff was quite ok (most of them, including the hotline staff, were patient enough to listen to my HONG KONG Accent.) Also, The appointment started on time. Overall good experience there. Will come back for follow up sessions.

  • Martin Soltysik

Big thanks to DR James H. and the team for looking after me. It doesn’t happen often when you under a doctor who’s a ‘human’ at the same time ;) Per OP he didn’t everything he could to find the best solution for me! Surgeries are always a bit stressful, but the team made me feel safe and they couldn’t be more helpful. Thank you!

  • andy mcnicholas

First class service, world class staff. I had a quad bypass with Mr Javangulla and cannot praise him and his team highly enough. With the drugs I forgot many of the staff names but I will always remember with fondness and gratitude for the time we spent together. Wherever you all go walk with pride, your quality is known.

  • Angela Higham

I attend every two years for a mammogram and have always been looked after by the staff. Sophie at the desk was warm, friendly and helpful, Eimear was professional and liz was fantastic at her job putting me at ease and handling me gently but firmly so I was in the best position for the scan.

  • Stephie Ettles

Just recently had a knee replacement at the Nuffield Hospital, as an NHS patient. The treatment I received was absolute exemplary. Everyone so nice, helpful nothing was too much trouble. Mr Hahnel is such a lovely young man. So down to earth. A big massive thank you to all.

  • Carley Centen

The doctors and nurses at Nuffield are just lovely. Very supportive, kind and confident. I have experienced a number of administrative errors, such as letters sent to wrong addresses and letters with wrong appointment times, but other than that the care is great.

  • John Flaherty

From Pre op to Discharge an absolutely wonderful experience during a worrying time. Made to feel comfortable and given time by all staff members. Wonderful food too. Not wanting to go back in a hurry but would not feel apprehensive about it if I do

  • Ryan Llewellyn

I had hernia repair surgery at Nuffield and I couldn’t be more pleased with how it went. My room was lovely, the staff were very friendly and I hardly had to wait at all. I was in and out within about 5 hours. I would highly recommend.

  • Domness

I had a few different procedures here, each time it felt like a well oiled machine. When I went in for surgery it was smooth, and I was in, changed, back out, rested, had lunch and then away all within a couple of hours.

  • Claire Holdsworth

Left waiting for 30 minutes after my appointment time with no explanation. Communication between staff is abysmal. Consultant provided no further advice than I received years ago from my GP. Waste of time. Avoid.

  • M omari

Poor experience. Disorganised (in appointments for example), also consultant made no attempt to offer enough recommendations, information, explanation about the very expensive scan I did. Not recommended at all!

Friendly environment, understanding consultants and staff. Very helpful and supportive experience. Would recommend this and there's no waiting around, they get to the point of your health problem or issues.

  • Sharon Medley

Wouldn’t recommend! Mr Khans department, don’t respond to emails, don’t return calls, and then to make matters worse they process my invoice wrongly and take more money than they should...dreadful service.

  • Mohammed Imtiyaz
