managers don't care about customer service, so why should the employee's? If you need help at all finding something, or even getting help with the electronics - good luck. 90% of the time, if you ask for help, the employee has to "page" someone which ironically that person gives out either incorrect information or doesn't know anything about electronics or where an item is in their own store. This used to be an awesome store. In fact, my original post had them at 5 stars. I'm not sure what has happened since then. I've been at this Office Depot quite a bit and there is ALWAYS a problem. Once, there was an item on their website that said they had it in stock. I called, confirmed they had it. Got there not even 10mins later, somehow they no longer had it. I was browsing the store and I find the item. When I asked the manager why I was told differently (by him no less), he lied to me and said I gave him the wrong sku number (which is impossible as I had it saved on my O.D. app). Another time.....I was trying to check out and an employee took a personal phone call on her cell phone, in front of me, and stopped checking me out. Another time, I went to return a mouse that stopped working and the employee said because it was opened, I couldn't return it. I had to pull up their own store return policy, get two other people (one was a manager) before I got a refund. I had to demand cash as they wanted to give me a O.D. gift card. There are a lot more examples but you get the idea. There is another O.D. in Hendersonville, I advise to go to that one. I've never had problems with them and everyone is very very nice and extremely helpful. DO NOT GO TO THIS ONE! YOU WILL WASTE YOUR MONEY AND TIME!
After looking for something for 20 minutes and nobody approaching me, I had to stand in line behind 4 people to finally get some help. Once I got to the counter Sumandip wouldnt walk over to help me find what I needed, instead Sumandip told me to Go stand at the copy ans printing counter. Which I had to wait behind 3 more people to get help at that counter. As Kelvin walked me over to help me find the part that I needed I was speaking to him in which he never responded one time to me. Clearly he was very upset that he had to get out from behind his counter to give a little customer service. I'm shocked to say that he is a manager especially when he seems so put out. He then proceeded to ask me as I was upset did I want the part or do I just wanna leave? Seems to me if somebody's been walking around the store for 35 minutes they probably would like to get what they came there for. That comment shows he had no care in the world about how long I had been waiting for help.
Called Office Depot near me & got a quote for a print job, tried to send them the image but they gave us the wrong email multiple times and then they said they couldn't do it in the time we needed. Called around to several more locations and was given a variety of excuses. Finally the Rivergate location said they could do it and they would honor the quote, we were given even though they normally charge more. We emailed them the image. In the email & on the phone told them exactly what we wanted. Go to pick it up & they charged us the normal higher price (not the price they said they would honor) & the picture was a lot smaller than what we wanted. On top of it they put the picture on a frame which we didn't want and charged us for it. We made this for a friend who's husband is being deployed and wanted it as a Christmas gift. I am sure she will be happy with it but it isn't what we ordered. Not happy at all will Office Depot & their print department.
This store has changed for the positive!!!! Last time I visited was over a year ago, the service was horrible then. CSR's lacked motivation and going for a positive customer experience. Today totally different!!! I met the Mgr. Donald who has only been there a short while. I had been looking not too hard ,,, for a writing table. I saw one here. I asked a CsR if they had one in stock he politely informed me they did not. On my way out I saw a young gentleman I thought to be the Mgr. I explained that I saw what I wanted but could he help me to obtain one. He was so positive and welcoming , he sold me the desk, and he went above and beyond by loading the desk into my vehicle.....WoW what customer service. Thank you Thank you Thank you!!!! I will be a repeat customer again!!!!!
I took advantage of the Charmin toilet paper sale and placed my online order on 1/27 to be picked up on 1/28. At the time I placed the order the site said there were 14 in stock. I go to pick up my order and they tell me they do not have my order even though i had a confirmation number and my card was debited. The manager tells me that they had to cxl 30 orders because they were out of stock but when I ordered the site clearly said 14 were in stock. When i asked what will be done I was told there was NOTHING that could be done. This so called manager offered no solution for my inconvenience or THEIR ERROR after i drove 40 min from Ashland city just to leave EMPTY handed. Customer service has really declined these days.
I was sent on a wild hunt for the perfect filing cabinet for my mother that's very particular about every little detail. I had already gone to 2 stores with no luck so by the time I went to this store I was a bit tired and frustrated. I was met by the sweetest sales person named Itzel. She quickly made me feel at home and was very down to earth and eager to meet my needs regarding finding the perfect filing cabinet. Itzel went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable with my purchase...all with her sweet caring smile and attitude. Office Depot...we need more employees like Itzel..Give this girl a raise or at least a medal for all she does. Thank you Itzel.
We came here to pick up a printing order we had submitted 3 days earlier, and they said “Umm… it looks like your order didn’t go through. Please resubmit your order online so that we can print it.” After we resubmitted our order, they said “Okay, come back in an hour or two. You should understand how we can’t put other people before you because you just put your order in.” That is so wrong! We had order confirmation emails sent to us and we never got a “Your order did not go through” email. Also our order was small, about twenty sheets of paper, and they weren’t willing to take responsibility and apologize for their mistake.
Don't buy anything from this store unless you make sure you keep your receipts and buy the protection plan cause if anything happens to it in less than a month you are just plain out of luck. Cause they will not even exchange anything for you. I bought a Rolling Office chair from here. And less than a month 1 of the wheels broke off and they won't even swap it out for another one. Update the Manager from the Office Depot in Madison called and took care if my problem. I was able to swap out the broken chair for another one. Of the same kind. The employees were very helpful when I took the broken chair back and swapped it out.
MISTY IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST!!! She is much more patient than I am. I was creating business cards online on my phone for several hours and the website would not accept my debit card. So I had to start all over using in store computer. During these hours, I got a little taste of what she probably deals with on the daily. Misty is amazing and seems to be a really good person. Misty could have walked away and moved on. But she stayed just for me and made sure that I didn’t leave today empty handed. She definitely deserves a raise and I’m not talking about overtime. She definitely deserves a $1 raise on her regular hourly pay.
I printed some stuff online out of desperation to this Office Depot. Or i thought I did. I came up to the store, found what all I needed and waited... they looked everywhere for my printed stuff. I finally checked my order and realized their online system changed my store. ♀️ The young lady who helped me got the manager and they went above and beyond to help me get my order cancelled and get my printed documents that I needed like an hour ago - the whole time w a smile. The staff did. A great job for me, when they really didn’t have to. Store isn’t the cleanest, but with service like that , I really don’t care.
Everytime I come to this store, I'm always greeted with a smile, and a " how can I help you " greeting. I appreciate this store and the employees very much!! Everyone is always friendly, and eagerly waiting to make your day a lot easier. Thank you, Office Depot, for getting it right at this store. I'm greatful for the employees that you have here at this store. I appreciate them so much, they make my life easier with the jobs I've given them in the past. I came in the other day to print and scan something. One of the girls working there was very rude. I was simply a lil confused about how it works and she just looked at me and said " I don't know what you're talking about". I'm sick of poor customer service. If you don't like your job and or don't know how to assist/ treat you customers you should find another job. This is why I hate going to places like this because you never know what type of service you're going to get. However, the manager did assist and was very helpful. I would still go elsewhere.
I can always find what I'm looking for at Office Depot. From paperwork to electronics, they have what I need and at a fair price. Their employees are a bonus; always helpful. I recently had to replace a printer due to a lightning strike in our area. It took me about 10 minutes to find what I wanted due to so many choices. Once I find the model I wanted to buy, one of the staff helped me find my choice boxed and ready to go. She then brought a cart so I didn't need to carry it around the store. My favorite place to find home and office supplies.
I ordered a poster print. I went to pick it up, and after I got it home, realized it was the wrong size. I returned to explain what was the issue, telling them that I had a frame it needed to fit into. The lady told me that it's just the way things are. After explaining I ordered a specific size and expected that size, I was told I could come back another day and pick up the right size because it wasn't her fault it printed incorrectly. The employee was very rude. Needless to say, we won't be returning to this location.
They are a great place to shop and after school starts our holidays they mark this down really good. The people are helpful but when it comes time to pay they will have employees talking at the copy center and no one at the register. So you will have to normally find someone to pay. If you got to the register in the front they will say it's the one in the middle but if you go to the middle it will be the one in the front. It is hard to check out normally. Because they lime talking. But they normally have good sales.
I visited this location to purchase a printer for a non-profit organization. When I selected a printer, the only one available had a damaged box. Because it was the only one of that model that I could purchase, I asked the manager if he could give me a small discount on it. I was met with a very rude, unprofessional, and cold response. I chose not to purchase the printer because of his behavior and will not be shopping at that store again. I do not recommend it.
The only reason I go to this store is because Itzel in the printing area is a rockstar and she’s SO sweet. Every single time I’ve been in, there’s many customers at the counter with her running the whole show. She has to run back and forth between the printer area, new customers at the counter, and people to be checked out. It’s ridiculous to expect that of someone. They need a second person working this department.
Madison was absolutely amazing honestly I'm in town to handle my brothers funeral and needed to print and fax some things for the funeral home i had some troubles she came and helped immediately made sure everything i needed came and then helped me in sending it all the next day between almost crying i completely missed the self fax when i asked about the fax service she went and took care of everything for me
Terrible service! Stood at the print counter with 4 employees standing around talking. Asked me what I wanted then turned back around and continued talking. After standing there another 10 minutes with no one helping me I walked out and went to Staples in Hendersonville. I will take my home and business purchases to Staples from now on.
A salesman assisted me with my W2 Form and was successful sending it through, he also helped me fax important papers, and assist me on buying a new printer machine. I was very please with his excellent customer services. I don't know his name but he's an African American man and he had arthritis in his arm and arm wrapped in a sling
My husband was so pleased to be lucky enough to find paper towels at your store. It wasn’t until he got home that he realized you had charged him $29 for one large package of paper towels! Are you really trying to make a profit from the virus?!! Not supporting the community right now. We will not be back. …
The store manager took his time and patience helping me pick the laser printer that was right for my needs and budget. The customer service I received after my purchase were just as attentive and courteous. Great staff and very knowledgeable. I will definitely be giving them my business in the future.
We wanted to purchase a tablet. We had to interrupt the 2 sales guys who were standing in the way of the only 2 models on display. They weren't helpful at all and kinda just laughed at my wife's silly questions. So now we are off to see who might want to sell us a tablet locally tonight.
They are over priced on most items I brought a pricing gun there for $51 plus tax and here I am my first time using it and it Brooke on me So I googled pricing guns on sale near me and everyone else around them have it for $10-$15 maximum that’s a rip off
Don’t bother to try to self copy. Machines keep stopping and breaking down. System kept going down. Idiot at the register. Swiped card a half dozen times. No Cross pens in store online only. Just close your doors. I’ll only use Staples from here on out.

This visit was all self service - we came in, plugged in the credit information and flash drive and printed the documents with no problem. Unfortunately I'm not sure any staff even knew we were there, but the printer was awesome.
Placed an order for 5 invitations to be printed. 4 days later on the date they said they'd have it ready by and the order still wasn't ready. Went down the road to Hendersonville and they made and printed my order in 5 minutes.
DO NOT BUY INK CARTRIDGES FROM HERE BECAUSE I DID AND WAS TOLD I COULD BRING THEM BACK IN AND EXCHANGE THEM! They were dried out and wouldn’t print! When I got there they wouldn’t exchange! Don’t waste your time or your money!

Their printer has been broken for the past two days…this is a part of their core service offering…they have no urgency to fix it and it’s very frustrating.

You have to upload a print order online to get prices now. Staff including assistant manager can not even give quotes. Better off going to kinkos.
when you need some basic office supplies that they have right on the shelf, at a reasonable price, then you can avoid shipping from the "big A".
They made sure I was completely comfortable with my purchase before I left. They even let me open the item up and take it out of its case
