Make sure to double check your receipt before paying! We were having a great night at the 710 Beach Club up until the very end! They have you pay on these smaller mobile devices. I couldn’t see what items were on the receipt, but at first glance everything looked okay. I asked for a paper receipt, but was told they would give me a copy after I left a tip etc. After leaving a generous tip for Lexie (our waiter) I noticed we had been overcharged. Explaining the situation to Lexie and later to her manager I explained that I wouldn’t be paying for goods I didn’t receive so I’d either like to receive the drinks I had unknowingly paid for or be refunded. Lexie and her manager became really rude, essentially saying there was nothing they could do about it. Mind you, throughout the night we had been very polite; throughout the evening Lexie had repeatedly come up to us, asking us multiple times if she brought drinks she herself had brought over; she herself was losing count of what we had and hadn’t received. After refusing to check the security footage (I asked them to please review it as my partner and I had kept a count of our drinks) we were escorted out of the bar without the opportunity to finish the drinks we HAD ordered and paid for. Very sad ending to the night as we had been having a great time.

This the most racist place ever, except if you are a mixed couple, that would be more exceptable. I went there yesterday with my blind wife and her blind friend. When we first walked through the door, we received the worst stares ever, except my wife didn't know and I didn't say anything about it. I received crazy stares as I went to order drinks. I had 1 margarita and by the time my daughter showed up the ladies had 3 drinks to my 1 and only drink. I threw up at the bar inside of the bathroom and I sat in my car. When I got home I've been vomiting literally all night long and then at 6am. I've even had food poisoning, but nothing like this, DO NOT GO HERE IT'S NOT FOR REAL BLACK PEOPLE. the big Samoan security guard is honest and he's a good person.

This is my favorite local dive bar. It's dark, cozy, and local feeling. They have a great little patio right on the street that you can drink or smoke on with awesome people watching, the ocean breeze, and a short hop to all of the bars around it. You can tie your dog up to the patio fence on the sidewalk and then walk inside and sit with him from the patio side, which I've seen a lot of people do and that's kind of convenient. I often go here for a nice sanctuary when the bars are being overrun by tourists or holiday crowds. There's never a cover and there's always couple good draft taps that you don't have to wait long to get. The dance floor at night is fun like a house party, probably full with 50 people in there and people have a good time, not too up tight or crowded almost ever.

I would give -5 star due to the fact I had a valid Canadian driver's license, valid military ID and was refused service because they Saif they only except passports.. the gentleman at the door said that he was in charge and didn't make the rules. Make sure if your a tourist to avoid this place because their rules change to what the manager at the time feels. He said it's the rules and it's posted tat the door. We told him it states valid Canadian drivers license on the sign at the front door, he stopped talking to us. They obviously don't need tourist's if they can afford to refuse people willing to spend a couple hundred dollars a piece isn't worth their time.

Dive bar near the beach. During the day it was a fun place for a beer and a game of pool but on a Friday night it turned into a dance club playing a ton of hip hop music with people who had way too much to drink looking for a hookup. I will credit the security guys for keeping control. Saw them escort a few ppl out as well as regularly check the bathrooms. But the bathrooms were really bad- the womens needed cleaning but the men's smelled so bad my husband had to pull his shirt up over his nose/mouth just to go in. Come on now disinfect and clean! That's just gross!

  • Jesse Mitchem

Rude bouncers.. yes, I know what I just wrote. That being said, I was being very respectful, my group of friends went in ~3 mins before me, I grabbed a hotdog outside and got there at 1:28 on a Friday night. The bouncer wouldn’t let me in because it was 1:30. Understandable.. it was upsetting because I was being understandable and reasonable and they didn’t let me in to my group of like ~8 friends so we all left instead. I get why they have to be like that, but like a 98% rule would serve the bar better I believe

Hey Any Of You Gals Want Some Crackers? It's better than the book club. Yeah, OK. Let's get to the politics of this unpretentious morning, afternoon or late-nyt drinking shack where the locals go. At least a dozen cheep beers on tap. Pitchers. Free music over the air. Lots of laughter. Your outdoor voices are fine. And if your already drunk, no big deal. How do they manage to create such a fun and unique experience? I don't know maybe it's Rock-It Science Baby~

  • Joan Marentes

This bar is a novelty for the beach area. Unfortunately, they cater to the 21 year old drunk crowds day, and night that listen to noise not music. It would be awesome if Open Bar and some of the iconic beach bars in the area would play 60's and 70's rock, and beach music. Really sad. Decent people like me who like to go listen to good music and drink would create a great atmosphere for 30's 40's and 50's people who actually have some money to spend!!!!

Open bar rocks. Gets a little wild and bros take over on the weekends, however, it has the chilliest vibe in PB. A true dive. Peanuts are available to munch and throw the shells on the floor. Everyday they offer pitcher domestics for $3.75 redic deal. They also on those dumb crowded nights sometimes book on of my face DJs Turbo. He spins like a G. The staff is timely with your drinks and does not skimp. Annnnd u can bring ur pups on the patio.

  • Zach Bailey (zer0cool)

This is a Pacific Beach landmark and is located directly across the road from another major Pacific Beach landmark, The Beach Cottages. I would classify this as a locals bar that does not put up with "frat boy BS". It's main draw is the patio, situated just steps from the ocean boardwalk and prime people watching perch. They also have complimentary warm peanuts, which are a great bonus. Perfect spot for a pre-game "sunset beer" IMO.

  • Another Zollinger Brother

The only time I ever got to stop into this place is the day of the quote, unquote hurricane. But the atmosphere was rad! Setting was great(especially considering). I always wondered why this lil hole in the wall was always Sooo packed. It's because this lil place packs a big and welcoming personality! Thanx Open Bar!

Save your self and don’t go to this bar you will with no doubt se assaulted!!!

  • Ben Gordon

Visiting the area from Wisconsin and it gosh darn blew our tops off when the said that they had 32 oz pitchers of PBR for $3.50. We each drank gosh darn like 10 of those little thingys until they kindly asked us to leave due to consuming establishment supply.. The best part is that they have barrels of hot peanuts to wash down the bubble brews. Party on Wayne!

  • JENNY Q

This dive bar is fantastic. It used to open at 6 am, but now it opens at 7 am. The drink prices are excellent for the PB area, and the atmosphere is delightful. Additionally, they have a spacious patio where you can relax. The bar offers billiards and darts for entertainment, along with a jukebox for music. As the day progresses, it tends to get quite busy.

  • Frankie Gonzalez

Super cool place. Gina the Bartender was TOP NOTCH and even let me pay with Venmo since I lost my walet in San Elijo last weekend. The other Bartender Jason has been there for years and used to surf together in High School. Stoked to see him and be treated well at the same time. Find me on Facebook or Instagram so I can make it up to you both ; )

First time here and the WORSE Experience ever never going back again!!! THEY CHARGED ME 25 dlls Fee when using my credit card when I only bought a 6 dll cocktail drink and bartender never mention anything about it??? Obviously for their own convenience they don't tell you they just charge you!!! What of a untrustworthy and dishonest place!!

  • Mateusz Duź

The security guard did not let us in because we did not have the passports. We had European Ids and drivers licences, 30 years pod, perfectly sober. The sceurity guard didn't even what to make a simple conversation, we left confused and had to rethink what actually happened. Sorry to say but nothing to reccomend for.

  • Kris Walker

Didn't have an food here but I'm sure it's good. Reasonable pricing for drinks and the well tequila is Teramana! The pool table is where I spent most of my time at! Bartender told me line is out the door on weekend nights so get there early.

Genuinely disappointed in this bar this was truly one of the worst experiences i’ve ever had going out. A bouncer here assaulted one of my girlfriends while we were out without cause seriously injuring her. He was so aggressive without for no reason and I honestly wish I could give less than a one star review.

  • Stephen Madden

Standard. The dance floor is too small... well the overall layout is quite small so I guess it's as good as it gets. The deck is nice but it fills up quickly especially on our great sunny San Diego days. The location is good, very close to the boardwalk and the main Street, Garnet. Have not tried the food

  • Liza H

Great vibe and wide age range of people that visit the bar. Great range of music played, they're area to dance and bathrooms are decent The Bar tenders are fast and attentive. There is security as well and a nice small outside patio with about 6 tables. Right on the corner and spot to stop in.

  • Marc's BK

Went for NFL Sunday afternoon. Very nice and uplifting environment. Beautiful women all around and $4.50 pitchers of beer for Happy Hour. You need to be there before 5pm in order to get that deal though. Everyone was grooving to the DJ who was spinning in between. Just an all around FUN time.

  • Hope Montgomery

Kicked us out when a dude was being extremely creepy and asked him to stop. So we were asked to leave. Like I was going to hurt this guy or something. Don't even waste your time at a bar in PB unless you want to get sexually harassed the whole time. Extremely disgusting.

  • Maddie Wynne

Had a terrible experience with a bartender here! She was incredibly rude and ignored most females to cater to guys and when asked multiple times for water she then preceded to claim we were shouting at her and had us kicked out. 0/10 will not be going back. …

  • eric l

Great dive bar. It used to open up at 6a but now it opens up at 7a. Great drink prices for the PB area. Great atmosphere and there’s a huge patio as well. There are billiards and darts available. As well as a juke box. It gets pretty busy as the day goes on.

  • Matthew Sorak

Not a bad little place but bouncers suck never going again on principal saw them being just plain rude to people then I go outside for a smoke and they refused to let me back in after I had 2 beer . A party of 12 left because the bouncers are hot headed

  • Sean Johnson

There's something about Open Bar that makes this dive worth the trip... From the DJ that spins sometimes-cringe, mostly-jam-worthy tracks to the decently priced beverages: this bar has everything you'd expect from a traditional American watering hole.

  • x86 th3jesus

Great bar that allows you to smoke outside. They have a wide variety of Mexican beers. Cheap Mexican beers along with fancy beers. They've a dance floor in the DJ a lot of the nights. They also offer pitchers of beer. Overall it's a great dive.

  • Cedar Woodward

This is my go to place for day drinking. I've been going to open for 14 years now. Or maybe longer? The drinks are strong and priced great and the staff is fun. In light of the covid situation, I just want Open to know how much I miss you all.

  • Kevin Foster

One of my all time favorite bars in the world. The bartenders, door guys and dj's are spot on every time.. Always a great scene here with a lively crowd and non-stop people watching... Don't forget about the Dance Floor and free hot peanuts..

  • Michael Kasperbauer

Terrible bar. Doesn’t answer their phone if you lose something there, you have to go all the way back and ask. Terrible experience at this bar. Last time I’ll ever go here. Very aggressive people and atmosphere at night.

  • Woody Donahue

I love the open bar because it’s a basic as it can get. Close to the beach and just a good old dive bar. Older crowd during the day and fun younger crowd in the evenings. Prices are great and Sunday’s deals are the best. Fun and happy staff.

  • Wes Clark

Gr8 beer choices & very comfortable beach atmosphere...Full on laid back SoCal joint! I love getting a tray of hot peanuts from the roaster, crackin' 'em & chucking the shells on the floor!!! Some cool dude actually gets paid to sweep em up!

  • Bianka W

Honestly I kinda kinda found this place on a fluke but now this is my after work spot. If you go and my girl Gina is working she will get you right. Her drinks be on point and she is cool as can be. I would def suggest to go here

  • conor o brien

On the Door wouldn't accept any ID other than passport and to be fair bringing a passport out as a form of ID would be stupid!!wouldnt accept drivers license disappointed tourist ,guys here clearly not fans of Irish Tourists!!!!

  • Adam McMahon

Not let in by a bouncer, because apparently I tried to sneak in a red bull that was in plain view in my left hand. When I called him on his bs the story changed to me having too much to drink. I hadn't had one single drink.

  • Rolando Perfecto

Expect to tip over $5 after every single beer, if not the OLD rude looking bartender dude won’t serve you. Someone should tell him that he will get tips based on performance/service not for opening one beer. What a joke.

  • David Foster

This place is on life support. Popped in during the afternoon and it was like Moe's from the Simpsons only not nearly as likable. Bartender completely indifferent and no draft beer. Someone should pull the plug.

  • C Hanson

A step up from my normal favorite dive bar but with all the classic assets that I like in a bar the best part though is being right next to the beach good mix a crowd good drinks and no PB attitude-we like that

  • Chantel Johnson

This was the only place not charging cover on a holiday weekend so we decided to walk over & check it out! This place definitely bring out dive bar vibes & a special local feel to it. Found my new place!

  • Justin Vold

Cool place to go anytime..really good pitcher specials on domestic brews...friday-Saturday DJ comes in and what is a dive considered a diveb bar becomes a small dance club..i will.definitely come back..

  • Tyler Kofoid

Don't go here unless you want to be disrespected. Always leave a $10 tip on a beer or you wont get service. And expect a disrespectful attitude even to service members because that's what you'll get.

  • Janette S.

Sooo crowded. I like the place but they need more staff. Sunday funday is not fun when you are packed in like sardines. Nice bartenders. But really should hold people at the door until people exit.

  • Donhu Rickerby

Dive bar with decent drinks prices. Usually packed later in the nights on the weekends and the music is hit or miss. Don't bother wearing your nice shoes to this place, it will get ruined.

  • Jay French

This place is the perfect dive bar on the beach. Not sure if they served food, but it was exactly what I hoped for and the music was fantastic.

This is one of our best local bars, fun and friendly during the day, wild at night. Roasted nuts, cheap beer, and a great atmosphere. Stay away if you are stuffy or pretentious.

Rev Ronnie is an absolute JEWEL !!!. Sunday Funday is Hilarious. Kind, Funny and very caring. Great way to end a weekend. Yer missing out, if you pass this opportunity by.

  • Jessica Novotny

Great music and tons of TVs to watch any of the games on... seemed like a “sports bar” full of men lol.. they do have good safe distancing with tables and open walls.

  • Ed Gibson

Nice atmosphere at the beach on the north west corner of Thomas and Mission Blvd ( PCH HWY ) . Friendly locals inside / outside seating good vibes. Stop in and enjoy

  • Chirelle Pearson

Great service & great staff who accommodated my drink requests! Seemed like a very happy family kind of place. Everyone knows everyone. Would definitely recommend!

I love the atmosphere, best dive(ish) bar on the beach. Drinks are cheap and the patio let's you get your sun on while you get your drink on!

Ahhh the good ol' days. It's definitely not what it used to be but it's still our friendly neighborhood dive bar. It's like a time machine!

I love this Bar! They offer free warmed peanuts, and great daily deal! I like to tie one on then stroll the beach looking for sand dollars

  • Terrell Cooper

Love this place! I got kicked out for the night but they still let me back in the next day! Really cool environment with a very fun crowd!

  • A D

Open Bar is a dive bar with regulars. I've had some fun moments. It can be really crowded and hot. Don't come here for the cleanliness.

  • Rhonda Rezek-Entsler

Pretty chill considering it's PB. Still crowded but could actually have a comversation on the patio. Service was slow. I would go back.

  • Gazal Mir

You guys need to clean surfaces, specifically on these days, you are making hell of money, how hard is to clean your bar every day?

  • Olivia S.

Can get packed but so can any bar. The scene here is unique and definitely geared more towards the older crowd versus 21 year olds.

  • Ben Davies

Bad ass casual watering hole. Great patrons, great staff, great environment, great location and great prices. Pretty much great

  • lloyd bailey

Nice place where you can have a good time with good people and good music and goodness all around. Ok that's good. Ditto today.

  • Dominique Wright

Drinks were horrible. Bloody Mary was only clamato and vodka. No spices. Their sprite was flat. And the bartenders are rude.

  • CF1 F

Open bar is one of the best bars in PB! It is very chill n fun n good music for dancing. We love it! Right on the beach too.

  • Tony Corral

Good Sunday funday spot. The smoking patio offers great people watching and the captain's pitchers are unbeatable at $5.50!

  • Chris Dugan

The DJ they had on the particular night we went was the worst one i've ever heard, but maybe they have a good one sometimes

  • catherine maynes

The bartender is like 6'8 and has small hands. Haha shout out to Erika and Drew!!! Amazing people! Cant wait to come back!

  • Bree Wilson

Small old school bar, close to the beach. They play good music and have a nice outside patio. They bring in a cool crowd.

  • Zach Fry

Nice little divey spot. On weekends, it can get pretty busy, especially in the summer. But who's drinking at 7 am?

  • E _S

Ide give em more stars when they remodel that bathroom. That was rough evem for a dive bar and it wasnt even prime time

  • Peter K

Another good bar in the PB area. Nothing to special here and it does get kind of packed certain nights of the week.

  • granthilla

Super cool place to hang out drink some beers with friends bartenders are awesome!!! Also the warm peanuts good!!
