Do NOT join AGR insurance. If you have a broker by the name of Terry A., RUN. This company provides monthly quotes and then proceeds to withdraw another amount out of your bank account. They do not advise in advance nor do they help when questions are asked. If you have Terry as a broker, do not believe a word he says. He will just refer you back to AGR to complain without providing any rationale for changes made to a policy. Terry convinced my to join AGR given my employee discount. I had my first accident within a year (someone hit me from behind while I was parked in my vehicle). AGR repaired the damage to my bumper. However, my trunk door now closes on my head every time it opens. I attempted to contact AGR through email and telephone calls to no avail. No one responded. I had to physically return to the body shop to advise. Staff confirmed there is a problem with contacting their shop and they "are working on it." AGR Staff witness the trunk slamming down on my head and confirmed a missing part from the trunk. They assured me they would fix it since the trunk was not damaged before I took in my vehicle for repair. They conducted an assessment and reported it was not their fault. As such, they would not fix my trunk and did not return a missing button for the trunk that was there before repairs. Furthermore, I just received my renewal policy which increased $100. I contacted Terry to ask questions, but he was providing incorrect information and directed me to contact AGR directly since he did not know why the policy increased. When I challenged him with the information he provided, he hung up on me. Do NOT join AGR. You will be pulling your hair out. I spend HOURS and time to find answers and to repair a trunk that was working perfectly before my accident. After one year, they raised my insurance rates $30 per month with NO explanation. Stay away from this company. Please.

Had an existing home and auto insurance policy. Contacted them twice to change the address for the auto policy and to amend the home policy to move it to a new home I purchased. Both times, I waited approximately 30 minutes on hold while they repeated the message "a broker will be with you shortly". When I was finally connected to someone, that person was not a broker and could not amend the policy. They would say "we will set up a urgent request to have a broker call you". It was urgent, as I needed the proof of new insurance to close on the new home. Both times I provided the times I was available to be called. Noone called either time. Got fed up and contacted a broker from Ratehub.ca who had new auto and home policies arranged for me in under an hour and the necessary proof of the insurance documents for closing on the home in less than 3 hours. AGR still owed me a refund of premiums and told me that it would be processed within 10 days of the dates I cancelled my plan with them. Cancelling was another 30 minutes on hold. No cheque ever came. Waited 15 business days, called to enquire about my refund of premiums. Another 30 minutes on hold, I was told it should've been processed, but their accounting functions must be behind. Waited another week, called to follow up. Another 30 minutes on hold. This time I was told the previous two people I spoke with were incorrect, that they wouldn't process the refund for another 10 business days from the last day of the policy. Why would they hold funds for a period beyond when the insurance policy exists? Don't trust anything they tell you on the phone. Noone seems to know what they are doing and whether you are actually speaking with an actual broker is anyone's guess. So much time wasted on hold for such poor service. To date still no refund.

Very disappointed with quality of service from Orbit , when I was dealing with Mantha insurance , the service was outstanding but my latest interaction hasn't been very positive . I switched insurance companies and asked to have my withdrawal date on specific date , I have had the same date for the past 20 + years . They didn't do that , then I had to cancel and reinstate the policy , the money came but I am still waiting to get the full refund for almost 3 months . I got a partial refund because their billing department also made a error when they cancelled my policy , instead of using pro-rate they used short rate . I don't usually complain but this is ridiculous . Update Nov 15 Good Morning MC, I sent you an email from my personal email and my work email as well , please let me know if you received them , I did not get a reply yet . Thank you Update Nov 16 2023 I was contacted by Maria from Orbit , I still feel like if the broker had used the correct date this entire situation would have been avoided . According to their numbers I was paid the correct amount . I changed my review due to the fact that Orbit actually cared to contact me and try to solve my issue , that means a lot to me , they turned a frown upside down !! Thank you

I have had insurance with Intact for several years, I called for information in regards to a plumbing claim with the city and François, the broker assumed that my pipes were lead, rather than asking me to confirm that they are or are not with certainty he went ahead and told Intact that my plumbing was lead pipes which is false requiring me to get a report from a plumber to confirm my pipes are not lead. All these years that I have had insurance with Intact they knew my pipes were not lead but Francois told them it was and he gave Intact false information which penalized me; I was required to pay to have a plumber confirm the information that was already in the file (that my pipes are not lead). François threatened me and said that if I do not get the documentation to confirm that I do not have lead pipes that Intact would cancel my insurance and that I would go onto a list making it very difficult for me to get home insurance in the future. I have asked to speak to his supervisor twice and have been told that I would receive a call within 24 to 48 hours both times. It has been over two months and I have still not received the call from the supervisor. I would definitely choose a better broker that has the clients best interest.

Don't get fooled by this company. Best price doesn't mean, best service. The insurance salesperson was fine and offered be good service however, when it came down to customer service, wow...what a waste. I spoke with 2 different service reps there and both were extremely rude. Would not let me speak. Kept interrupting me, threatened to cancel my insurance and finally hung up on me. It seems like my call with them was recorded. I sure hope someone takes the time to listen to it. They will have confirmation of the low grade employees they hire. Must be underpaid to be this rude. I could write a lot more but, would take me much more time. I had to check one star because there were no zero star. September 30th, 2020 Received acknowledgement email with apologies from the supervisor. I was notified that all recordings would be heard. I was assured that the situation would be addressed so that the attitude and behavior of brokers would change and improve.

The absolute worst service and agents in the world! They are rude, impatient, do it return calls and I have been a client for 35+ yrs with no claims! Nor do they even try to help you find a better rate; I recently learned that unless you ask, they won’t try to search for you, they just keep renewing your same old policy. I swear they have a list of standard answers to explain to you why your rates are going up, none of which make any sense at all...according to a recent study I came across, Ontarians are paying 80% more for car insurance than they should be. Because Car insurance is regulated by the province, we may not be able to do much about our rates, but we can still choose a broker than provides courteous, professional service. I would NOT recommend this broker to anyone, ever!

I was with TWIS for my car insurance and so when Orbit bought them I wound up an Orbit client.Their customer service is the absolute worst. I recently bought a new vehicle and had to update my policy. I waited on hold forever. If I took the option to receive a callback when someone freed up I never did receive a callback. Once I got through to a human being I got bounced around from department to department. I selected the option that applied to me but somehow I got routed to the wrong department. Then when they tried to transfer me they sent me to another wrong one. I sent them proof of TAG installation and I can't seem to get one person on the phone to confirm they received it. AVOID if you can.

Had economical, terrible customer service from agr as well. It was like they didn’t want me to know who was in charge of what. Never had a claim in theee years but as soon as I started asking for more quotes (with agr - aka more money for them) they still were rude. Aggressive CSR made me cry. I had to go to the ombudsman (GIO) and ribo (insurance body) and get them involved to even get a clear response (a refund amount) when I wanted to cancel after they were rude. Then finally got a refund amount and am still waiting for the actual refund. Get insurance anywhere but here. They won’t be easy to get claims out of if you were actually unfortunate to suffer. :/

I’ve been with AGR for many years and it was adequate service and professional. This week and most recently I dealt with a representative by the name of Monique and it all went south. She’s not the right person to be dealing with if you expect professional patient manner and politeness. I sent 2 emails & a phone callback request to report her and what happened and no one has responded yet. I asked to speak to a manager when things went from bad to worse and she said the manager was on holiday and provided no options to speak to anyone else like a supervisor or other. I’m very disappointed and I don’t understand what’s going on there now.

I called for an estimate and decided to don’t go ahead with this insurance company. First, I was waiting for an email with a quote for a week, then called back and left a message. Another week passed and was still no email. Today I called back and spoke with Terry again. He was not helpful, not friendly and arrogant. I asked him to match dwelling amount with my current insurance company and he said it’s not possible (as result the quote was $350 more expensive, 50%). When I asked for any other options to lower the price he suggested me to go with another insurance company.

I have been a customer for years. I realized I was paying way too much and can get a discount with another provider through my work. I called to cancel my policy and it seemed like they did not want to talk to me. The broker on the phone told me to write on a piece of paper my policy number and that I want it canceled, sign it and take a photo and email it to them. Is this normal practice? Why am I not able to cancel it over the phone?

Absolutely hopeless complaint completely jinxed up my motor insurance after I made it clear to them I wanted switch to another insurance company through them they cancelled the first but failed to start the second. Got then explained that the person originally dealing had been moved within their office due to mental health concerns! As a result was driving without any valid insurance for 4 weeks completely unaware!!!! Avoid avoid AVOID

Please don't call on a Friday at 4:15 p.m. because apparently there's nothing they can do for you (it will have to wait until Monday!). That's exactly what the agent said to me. Please consider another company. We've have nothing but issues with them since they've taken over Aviva insurance. The customer service was not what I would expect from an insurance company.

I've been on the phone looking at quotes all day and talking to different agents from various companies. Terry from AGR was the only one that stood out. Really good service over the phone. He was enthusiastic when he spoke with me and took the time to explain general insurance terms until I understood them. I'm happy I got him on the line today.

This place offers products that not every insurance agent carries, and is very close to my home - but hey, if you don't care enough about potential clients to even call them back? Sorry. My business has gone elsewhere. Think of this as an opportunity for improvement.

Always had great service.. but the phone lines are messed up...if your are with Economical your get an Aviva rep and the option to pick Economical was not in the queue....this happened 3 times in the last 6 months...sort our the simple stuff...various tel number also...confusing for nothing

If I could I would give them zero stars. Was on hold forever then told to leave a message. I wanted to change my insurance policies to a local broker. 10 days later still have not heard back from them. Strange idea of customer service. Anyway someone else now has my business.
